At home Hope sat at her desk paper work in front of her. She was more comfortable working from home than she was in the makeshift office. Maybe she would get a office, but she new there was no room right now, so she waited and most work was done from home.
Looking over at the phone that sat on the one side of the desk Hope let out a sigh. Scott needed his space, she new this but it pained her to not hear from him in so long. Today...he was going to call today he had promised she just had to be pashent.
Trying to get back to her work Hope gives a sigh in frustration as she just cant considerate. Raching out for her phone Hope dials Scott's number and waits. Hearing his voice on the other end made her feel good. He was ok...that was good.
"Hey its just me...I know you were going to call me but I was going crazy sitting here waiting."
Hope gives a light laugh she didn't want Scott to think she was upset. She new he needed time, and she was ok with that.
"...I was wondering if you still wanted to do lunch?"
Glancing up from her car at Leo Ryan just watches him for a long moment. Over the last few days she had seem to slip into someone just not of herself anymore. Leo seemed happy, and she hadn't seen Alec in days, he was always busy, and Eli was busy with his new job. Ryan was alone...left with her feelings, left with her guilt and left with two completely different pains in her heart. She'd made her own bed and now she had to lay in it. Maybe this was what she deserved.
Turning back to the car she was working on Ryan tightens some bolts making sure they were snug. Racing was her out but even that had to end. Hearing Axel's comment Ryan lets out a long tired sigh. Looking up at her eyes looked tired, and her voice was on the dull side.
"Yeah they do, but its our own actions that make those changes."
Looking back down at her car again Ryan tinkers with a few more things to keep her mind off everything. What would she do for lunch today? See if Alec was around again? Maybe....maybe she would just skip lunch altogether and just work. Ryan felt so confused even about the little things.
Sitting at the table and her elbow and arm on the table Bree keeps her head propped up with her knuckles. Glancing at the sandwich that had been placed in front of her Bree wanted to smile at the crust that was cut off, but it just didn't want to come out.
Being back was good, being home was nice but it just wasn't the same. It felt like this life was tainted now, and Gunner not being around Bree still didn't feel safe. She hadnt returned to work yet, she just wasn't ready.
Just moving her eyes to look up at her uncle she lets out a small sigh nodding a little. Everything lacked color, and no matter how she tried to be better it just...didn't work..
"Yeah I have the gum, I've been carrying it for the last week."
Each day Bree had come to see her Uncle it was the same thing said over and over again that maybe tomorrow she could see Gunner. And each day came with out the visit and the hope that maybe tomorrow she could see him. So hope still lingered but excitement was no longer there when hearing those words. Until she was actually on her way to see him her excitement was held at bay.
"Skippy deiced to ride on Darwin's head this morning round the house. It was kind of funny actully considering he's about the same size as his head. I think they were trying to cheer me up. It made me smile a little."
Hearing Ryder behind her in the kitchen Thirteen couldn't help but roll her eyes at Aerith giving a small laugh.
"He shouldn't be wrestling crocs ether. Gives me a heart attack every time he does."
Thirteen had hated leaving Texas, she really had liked it there. Being with the animals, in the open space her father being close by. It really was nice. But not she was left with memories and pictures that would hold her over. Though the question of when next time would be lingered.
Finishing rolling her silverware Thirteen turns and heads into the kitchen sitting down at the small table at one end. Just watching Ryder for a long moment she stands again slowly making her way over to him. Stangly enough she had found a liking for cooking once she figured out what everything was.
"Can I help you cook? My shift in the dinning room is over, and I just...don't feel like going home alone."
The tiny bell on the auto shop rings as Cassy removes her sun glass. It had been a nice day out, and her knee had felt half was decent. So a longer drive than normal brought her here to where Leo worked.
Not seeing anyone at the counter Cassy tried to crain her neck to seeing to the bay area and though she herd the noise she didn't see anyone.
"Hello....Hello?"
Cassy could only hope someone heard her. Than again she hoped Leo was working too. She had a favor to ask but realized she had no idea when he even worked and didn't.

Scott stares at the spread of photos on his coffee table, standing back and folding his arms across his chest. He'd hardly slept at all for the past ten days. After turning in his resignation to Reese, he'd been back to TJY only once to clean out some personal belongings from his office. He hadn't spoken to his sister, and only a little to Dalton. Katie was the only other one he'd said anything to, making it a quick explanation that he was leaving.
Since then, he'd taken up company with his camera, disappearing during the day, then returning at night to develop his own pictures. Some were color, some were black and white. Some were touching and emotion-filled, almost sad. Others seemed to hold bittersweet themes. Nights were spent on his computer or on the phone with little time to socialize, even with Hope.
Eating hadn't been a priority, even though Rick had read him the riot act about it. To any outsider, his only focus was his photography. His hiding place. Glancing over at his phone, he knew he was supposed to call Hope about lunch. But he just wanted to pick his top three pictures... it would only take another minute... or two.
Leo spins a rag in the air and boogies past Jed's car to the rock music that was playing on the radio. It had been a week and a half and he didn't know where the time had gone. Working around Ryan every day was still a nightmare inside, but on the outside, he was holding his own.
Most days he joked and kidded around with the other guys, maybe throwing Ryan a nod now and then, but no real conversation had happened between them.
Sashaying up to his own car, he ducks down as if he were dancing with the open door, shining the wash job as he sways to the upbeat music.
"Woo!" Miles laughs and throws up his arms. "Go Leo! Go Leo!"
Jed joins in, spinning around and using a wrench to make out part of an air guitar for the guitar solo on the radio. It would be obvious to anyone that Darell was gone for the day.
Axel grins and shake his head as he sits on top of the work bench in the corner and cleans up some of the tools. It felt good to be back on the job a few hours a week. It was all his hand could take yet, but he was able to pick up tools and even manipulate a nut and bolt if he concentrated hard enough. The healing was slow, but feeling and mobility were gradually coming back. There was still some pain, but it was worth it and he could never thank Misty enough.
His eyes glance over to Ryan as he still grins. "Thing around here never change, do they?"
"Okay, so David said maybe tomorrow we can go see Gunner." JT sets down a plate with sandwiches for himself and Bree's lunch on the kitchen table. Falling back into the daily routines at home hadn't been too hard. He was back to work and with a little prayer and a little legal magic from David and Angelica, he and Amanda were in the clear. Now the only thing remaining was getting Gunner out of jail.
JT sits down and looks across at Bree, trying to smile. It had been a long week and a half since they'd gotten back from Texas - each day filled with question as to when Gunner would be free. "You got that gum to take to him?"
Ty falls onto his bed, worn out from being at work all night. He hadn't bothered to undress and just lets his head sink into his pillow. Reese had been giving him extra hours, and while the money was nice, he was exhausted during the day. How long had it been since he'd seen Libby? Seemed like forever, but he thought it was just a few days. He'd been able to meet her once for some lunch and arcade time, then an hour or so of trying to read. She knew he was busy at work though, so for now, it was okay. But he really did want to spend more time with her. She was fun, and it was nice having a friend to hang out with. For now though.... for now.... he yawns as his eyes fall shut. Just a few hours... that's all he needed.
Alec sits on his cot, fingering the note from Ryan that had been left a few days prior. He hadn't seen her for over a week now, and he wondered if it was him or if her brother had given her too hard of a time for seeing him. Apparently she'd come a couple days ago though when Reese had had him downtown and she'd left a note. So maybe she'd just been too busy lately to stop by TJY.
Nibbling some more on his lemon, he spits out a seed, sending it shooting across the room and into the waste basket. It was getting tiring now... sharing information, negotiating for a few perks here and there... He had free lunch hours but hadn't done anything with them except wander the halls and stay out of Trooper's way. There had to be more than this... there had to be.
"What, are you kidding me?" Dani shakes her head as she heads out of the kitchen with an order. "Carson would kill you."
"For taking the shrimp off the menu?" Ryder throws up his hands. "I can't cook shrimp! Chicken, yes. Steak, yes! But those shrimp are so..." His voice trails off as Dani disappears, returning a couple minutes later.
"He'd still kill you."
"Nah. By the time he and Misty get back, he'll be so turned around he won't even notice."
Dani sets her hands on her hips, smirking at Ryder. "Honeymoons are supposed to do that, but I guarantee that he'll notice if the shrimp isn't on the menu."
"It's only a couple days!"
"I don't care! I'll cook them, for crying out loud. You're such a baby."
"Am not." Ryder wipes his hands on a towel and looks out to check on the tables and make sure Thirteen was getting along okay. It had been hard saying goodbye to Texas, but more than a week had passed and Ryder thought she was settling back into things again. At least he hoped she was. He hated seeing her sad. The smell of smoke makes him whirl around and he gives a little wail. "I wrestle crocs, not lasagna!"

Important to you
Cleaning and dressing the wound Angel lets a sigh out at Jim's comment. She was the Dr, she was meant to make people better and yet she lacked some of the resources to do that.
Giving a grim shake of her head Angel look over her shoulder at Jim. Weather Eric wanted to go or not if Angel thought it was best she would make him go. Standing she goes over close to Jim leaning into his ear so Eric couldn't hear.
"Lets see if the meds I just gave him help at all. If they don't...than I am out of options and I can't keep him here. There is only so much I can do, and I have limited resources. If we end up needing to take him else where...I am going to need your help. I don't think its going to be pretty."
Looking back over at Eric Angel's eyes fill with worry. This was her best friends brother and no matter if he hated her, never talked to her again she would do what was best. Saving his life, was so much more important and if he could see that than it was his own stubbornness that blinded him.
Letting out a long sigh Bree was tired of waiting. Getting home was great but it would just feel like she was in prison still without seeing Gunner and making sure with her own eyes he was ok.
"Ok. When do we get to leave?"
Leaning her head down back on her knees Bree goes back to looking out the window. She was happy she was going home, really...just...she missed Gunner still.
"I have to bring him a root beerfloat when I go, I promised him...that and gum."
"You are strong Scott, your ever so strong, but we can't do it on our own sometimes and that doesn't make us weak. Asking for help...makes us that much stronger."
Cuddled there with Scott though he was not great made her feel good. Knowing that her presence alone helped him made her feel like she was needed and it was a good feeling.
Hope new Scott could get over this, in his eyes she saw the will to fight. It was hiding but it was there. He only needed to believe in himself and open to those who were willing to help. Leaving TJY though it was be hard and Reese would be upset if it helped him than it was worth it.
"I think you need to do what makes you happy and helps you feel better Scott. Running away...no its not running away. Its what you think you need to do, to make you better. You should always come first to you, and worry about what people say behind."

"It looks like a rock to me," Scott states flatly. "I big... fat rock. With a little rock next to it."
A little laugh slips out, proving he was teasing, rather than seeing such dull objects. "I guess I kinda see a bunny. Except the more it changes, the more it looks like an armadillo."
Giving a sigh, Scott just watches the clouds, glad that Hope was here with him. She made him feel... whole. Even when he felt he was falling to pieces. "Thank you... Hope. I didn't mean to exclude you lately. I just wanted so badly to make it through on my own... to prove I was strong enough to do it. Things had been going so well and... I thought the nightmare was over."
He sighs again. "Reese won't be happy if I quit. But I know Dalton can handle the work alright. I don't know... what do you think I should do? One one hand, I feel like I'm running away. And on the other, I feel like I'm shedding a burden."
Eric obeys Angel, just trying to keep himself still, but it was hard. Cringing a bit, he draws in a shallow breath as he continues to shake. "I'll... I'll be okay," he mumbles. "Have to be. I'm fine. It's just..... gotta take... take its time."
Jim stands back, his arms crossed. "We don't have enough time, that's the problem," he muses, not loud enough for Eric to hear. "Angel..." His tone is serious. "I trust you - you know that. But does Eric need more than we can do for him here?"
"No." Eric states flatly. He wasn't supposed to have heard that, but he had. His jaw is clenched tightly, the bedsheets in a vice grip. "I'm s...staying here. No... no more... h...hospital."
JT smiles gently at Bree, finally seeing a spark, even if it was so very faint. "Not right away. But getting home is the first step, okay? After we're home, we need to wait until David and Angelica can work it out so we can visit Gunner. They're keeping him pretty secured right now. But we will... we'll get in, I promise, okay?"

Bunny
Hope doesn't resist as Scott pulls her back onto the hood of the car. Putting her arm over Scott's stomach and leaning her head on his chest Hope looks up at the soft clouds that float by. Wrapping her grip just a little tighter in a hug Scott is quiet for a moment.
"You will be able to again Scott, its just going to take time."
Continuing to just look at the sky Hope searches the puffy clouds. She'd never tried to make pictures out of them before. She didn't even know people did that, but maybe if she tried it could help Scott. Pointing upward a smile forms on her face.
"Hey look, that one is s bunny. You can see its ears, and that cloud makes the tail."
Giving a squeeze to Sparky's hand she smiles at her brother. She new people were leery of his relationship with Faith and to a exstent she was too. She just didnt want to see her brother hurt, but right now through the worry in his eyes she could see how much he did care about this woman and who was she to say it was wrong.
"Your welcome and your not going to lose her. Before we know it this will all be over."
"Yeah I do have something stronger. I didnt want to give it to him unless I had to, but I have to now. Keep him still I'll be right over."
Hanging up the phone Angel gives an apoligetic look to Wendy and Clint. Walking past little Chase she gives him a kiss on the head.
"I'm sorry guys I have to go. Eric is sick and I need to bring him some more medicine. Maybe tonight we can have dinner just us with Luke too?"
After a few moments Angel had packed her medical bag and is to Eric's already. Coming inside and seeing Eric Angel moves fast to put the blankets back on. Opening her bag she her some more antibiotic.
"Come on Eric take this please ok?"
Holding her knees close to her Bree looks up as her Uncle enters the room. Trying to give a small smile as her sits down next to her Bree can't help but wondering if there was more bad news coming her way. Though the expression on her Uncle's face was much different.
Perking up just a little bit at the news of going home Bree looks down her her knees for a moment. It had been so long since she had slept in her bed, seen her animals and walked around her house.
"Home..."
Thinking again her eyes get a glimmer of hope in them as her mind goes to the one person she missed over all else.
"Does...this mean I can see Gunner too now?"
"You will be able to again Scott, its just going to take time."

Home
Scott nods a little. "Thank you. I... don't know what else I would do but... maybe it would be best, ya know? Clear my head. That sort of thing."
Sighing deeply, he leans back, pulling Hope with him as he lies on the car hood, his head now against the windshield. Gazing up at the sky, he points at the passing clouds. "I used to be able to guess what they looked like. Now... now it seems all imagination has left me. It's like... I have so many facts and hard figures that there's no room for imagination. I want it back... I want to think for myself again."
Sparky growls and leans forward to put his face in his hands. "I know," he mumbles. "I can't help it. I just... don't wanna lose something so soon after I got it."
Sighing, he straightens again and looks at his sister. "Thank you though... I'd be a total mess if I were here alone."
"Come on, Eric... I'm trying to help you." Jim struggles to keep the cold cloth on Eric's head as he tosses and turns in the bed.
Eric writhes with pain and fever, soaking the bedsheets with sweat that had started an hour ago. His fever had risen and he was shaking all over from cold chills as he burned up. Hearing Jim's voice, he nods, but just can't seem to hold himself still. "It's hot... hot."
"I know, but you gotta keep these blankets on," Jim persists. Sighing, he leaves the wet rag and goes for the phone. "Angel... this fever's just getting worse. I don't know what to do. You got anything stronger to try to get it down?"
"Hey, hon." JT lets himself into the little room that was now so familiar. Sitting down on the edge of Bree's bed, he takes her hand. "I just got off the phone. We can go home tomorrow." He smiles, hoping that she would be as relieved as he was to hear the news.
"David said they've completed everything for getting you a restraining order for your parents and their hired thugs, and no one from the hospital is to even think about accepting you again. How about that? You ready to go home?"

Hope can see the look in Scott's eyes and knows he really means what he said. It was hard to think about Scott doing anything but TJY. If it was going to make him happy and help him heal than it was worth it.
"I understand Scott. If you think its going to heal you heal than maybe it would be best."
Giving a smile and just keeps her arm around Scott. She would go through hot lava to be with him she new that much. It was hard to think of her life before she had started dating Scott. He though she holded him up, but he did the same for her too.
"If you move on Scott, to get a fresh start I'd follow and support you. You need to do whats going to be best for you because right now your who matters and getting well again is whats important."
Looking over at Sparky as he gets up and down up and down Annie shakes her head a little. She new Sparky was worry but she didn't think he was going to be this worry.
As Sparky comes back to sit down next to her again Annie puts a hand on his arm and smiles at him.
"She's going to be Sparky. Your going to worry yourself sick."

Something different
Scott breathes in deeply of the lake air, closing his eyes before looking to Hope after she speaks. "I love you." He takes her hand in his, locking his fingers through hers. "You're the one that makes me feel whole, you know that? I can doubt myself all day long but you're there... to pull me back together again."
Holding her hand up, he kisses it. "I just don't know how long I can do this. I've um... I've thought about resigning TJY. You know... get a fresh start. I just... I can't handle being around Agency people right now. I'm afraid I'll lose it. And Sapphire... having to work by her every day... I love her, you know? That'll never stop but... I just can't be around Gage right now. And he and her, well... they're together, so if I'm with one, I'm with them both."
He stops and sighs again. "Maybe I've served my time here. Maybe it's time I... I did something different."
Jade giggles. "I think we might too."
"No." Mick holds up a finger. "I know you will. Just don't set the barn on fire or anything, alright?" Shaking his head, he grins a little before turning around and heading back outside.
Jade gives Dan a squeeze and nuzzles her head into him. "Mmmm... I love you so much."
Sparky stands up once more to pace from the waiting room, down the hall and back again. He sits down then stands, studies the magazine rack, then sits again next to Annie. He hated waiting here. He hated not knowing anything until later. All he saw was Faith being wheeled down the hall and his hand waving after her. He'd promised he'd see her after. He'd promised. She had to be okay.
He stands again and walks to the door, then comes back to sit down again.

Crazy
Sitting on the hood of the car Hope just listens to Scott giving him a nod here and there. Her heart breaking from how much term oil he was in again.
Finally when Scott is done Hope scoots a little close to him. Wrapping her arm around his shoulder and pulling him a little closer to her in a side hug. Giving a kiss to Scott's head Hope just holding him and rocks gently.
"Ohhh Scott....Your not weak, and I could never want anything more than who you are. Don't think just because your having a hard time I think your weak, and want someone else because I don't. To me your perfect. And I know who you are. You'd never hurt the people you love. You might have that information in your head but I know whats in your heart."
Hope just continued to hold Scott still rocking gently with him. Leaning her head against his and just looking out at the water.
"I can't even imagen how this must feel, but I bet its not good at all. But I also know you so strong Scott your so very strong that you can beat this. You have so many friends to Scott who love you and would never think anything different from you asking."
Letting out another sigh Hope thinks for a long moment before saying anything else. She just wanted to think before she finally spoke again.
"As for your sister, she still loves you Scott...no matter what you two have been though she loves you because you are her brother. The only one she has. She will love you no matter what happens. And the others from the Agency that are no reformed in time you will be able to trust them and when you look at them you will see good people. You just have to be paysent and take on day at a time. Its gonna be a long hard road, but I wont leave you."
Hearing Jade sequel and and seeing her run for him Dan catchs her in midair and spins her around, giving her a big kissing knowing she was happy.
Pulling away and letting Jade slide to the ground Dan continues to hold her as he looks at Mick giving a laugh.
"I think we are going to drive your dad crazy."

It starts
Scott takes in a deep breath before letting it out slowly. Leaning to the side, his head rests on Hope's shoulder.
"I feel like it is the beginning," he mentions quietly. "With me... being the weak one... the one with the problem. I wanted so bad just to... be the strong one, you know? You deserve better... you deserve a man who doesn't need a shrink every five minutes."
Picking at a thread on his jeans, he sits straighter again though his shoulders slouch. "I thought that... you know... once I was better that... that I'd always be better. Then I started having trouble seeing people connected with the Agency. I just... saw all the data that had been put into my brain instead of them for who they were. It was just all.... data. It's hard to explain."
It really was hard to explain... the attempted assimilation wasn't something easily grasped by anyone else, let alone by himself. "I... I started getting more and more angry for what had been done to me. I felt.... violated. Like they took my life without my permission. Like, the Agency is a part of me now and I don't have any control over it. Every time I saw someone who used to be there... Phinox... Carson... Alec... the people I knew the backgrounds on... I just felt... angry. And then..."
Scott scoffs and shakes his head, leaning forward to rest his chin in his hands. "Then my sister decided to date Gage. So... when she wanted me to teach him how to drive, I said sure. And... I warned him to stay away from her... I threatened him. I didn't like myself for it, but I did it. That's... that's why Sapphire and I are having problems now."
He takes a deep breath, giving a little shudder. "Now I'm having nightmares about betraying everyone I love. I had Dalton lock me out of TJY's security just to make sure I couldn't get in and actually do damage. Carson... he said it didn't work that way - that I was still in control but... I'm still scared. I'm just so confused and... look at me. I'm useless with this stuff running around my head and... and..."
His voice starts to quiver just a little. "I don't know how to conquer it."
Finally a smile emerges on Mick's face. His eyes still held some fear or disappointment... something that said he was still not in favor of losing his daughter, but he wasn't going to fight it.
"Just keep making her smile... I like seeing her smile."
Jade wanders into the barn after helping Becky with some dishes and cleaning, and skips past the horse stalls, humming and looking for Dan. Turning the corner, she skids to a halt, seeing both Dan and her father. Her heart skips a beat and her face pales slightly. "Oh, um... I... I... sorry to, uh... interrupt."
Mick lets go of Dan's hand and turns to Jade, quirking one eyebrow. "It's okay... I wasn't strangling him or anything."
Jade didn't know how to react, not knowing whether he was teasing or what.
Mick gives her a little smile and nod. "Don't worry. Just guy talk. And... I'm glad you're here."
"W...why is that?" Jade wanders a little closer, afraid she was going to get the tongue-lashing she didn't get earlier today.
"Because..." Mick cocks his head. "I... walked off before I had a chance to congratulate you this morning."
Jade's eyes widen, suddenly realizing that he wasn't going to yell at them. "You... you approve?"
"Mmm... I'm working on it," Mick admits. "Give an old man some time to get used to the idea, okay? But... I'm not going to get mad at either of you, alright?"
Jade can feel the tears rise in her eyes, but this time they weren't sad tears. Coming closer, she wraps her arms around her dad, burying her face in his chest. "Thank you... thank you."
Mick returns her hug and kisses her head. "I love you, baby... I always will."
Jade draws back and turns around to see Dan, her smile going from ear to ear. Giving a little squeal, she runs into him with a hug, giving him a big kiss on the cheek.
Mick chuckles a little and shakes his head, throwing up his hands. "And it starts."

Satisfaction
Giving another smile to her husband Rosetta's eyes twinkled as Mick got up to leave the house once again. She was so proud of him, and everything he had accomplished. They could be no way she would ever stop loving him. He meant so much to her.
Working in the barn stacking the hay Dan didn't even know right away anyone was in there with him let alone watching him. Finally catching moment from the corner of his eye he looks up to see Mick staring at him. Not sure what he was going to say Dan stands there just looking back at him.
As Mick speaks Dan just looks back into his eyes, seeing the strange softness Dan is put at ease just a little bit. Than finally as Mick was done a small smile forms on Dan's face. He had Mick's blessing now to marry Jade and that made him happy.
"I don't plan on breaking her heart, or giving you the satisfaction of killing me."
A small bit of humor showed in Dan's eyes letting Mick know he was only joking about the last part and not being disrespectful. Seeing Mick's hand Dan reaches out his own in a strong handshake. It was a good feeling knowing Mick was for them now and not against them. To know Jade wouldn't hate her father. It was good indeed.
"Thank you!"
Hopping up on the hood on the car with Scott Hope sits close to him. Just happy to be next to him for now. Looking out at the water on the horizon she lets out a small sigh.
"It's ok, I was just worried and than I thought maybe I did something wrong. but I figured if that were true your tell me. So...I was just worried."
Turning her head to see Scott Hope squints just a little from the sun light. He looked so distant, so far away. It was almost like when she first had met Scott all over again.
"How about starting at the beginning thats always a good place."

Baby girl
So lost in his own world, Scott doesn't even realize Hope's car has pulled up next to his. Once she's already close and touching his hand, he gives a start before realizing it's her. The panic leaves his eyes quickly though, and he musters up a little smile.
"Hey. Good to see you too." Scooting his thin frame over, he pats the hood of his car. It was a good enough spot for now, and at the moment, he didn't feel like walking.
"I'm sorry, Hope... for... being so evasive. I just... I don't even know where to start."
Seeing the look on Ryan's face, Leo was immediately sorry for his biting remark. Enough hurt and anger remained though to keep him from apologizing. Looking back at his own car, he sighs. He needed to get to work - if not to win a race, then to make sure he kept his job.
Mick nods and takes Rosetta's hand in his, giving it a light kiss. He knew that whatever he decided, Rosetta would follow. But he still appreciated her words and advice. "I won't jump too quickly," he promises. "I just... gotta talk to them. Not sure what I'm gonna say yet, but I promise I won't fire Dan or send Jade away. They're far enough now that you're right - saying no is just gonna make things worse. I just... gotta say something before we meet again. I don't want to live in awkward silence."
Getting up from the table, Mick bends to kiss Rosetta's head. "Thank you... for being calm with me." He can't help a little chuckle. "You and the wood pile."
...It was a few minutes later and Mick was wandering through the barn, looking for Dan. What he said was true... he needed to talk to both Dan and Jade before it became an awkward mess.
Finally finding him near the stack of hay, he stops, watching him for a moment. Approaching slowly, he stops again and sets his hands on his hips, looking Dan in the eye. For the longest time, he just stares, searching for the man he'd been told was inside... the man he wanted to see inside, for his daughter's sake.
Stepping even closer, he doesn't break eye contact. His voice is firm but not angry and almost soft. "Don't break her heart, Dan Palmer. That's my baby girl you're gonna marry and... I don't want to have to kill my son-in-law."
Reaching out his hand, he offers it to Dan.

Hurt
Rosetta gives a small nod to Mick. She already new they wouldn't see eye to eye. She had the way she felt, and he had the way he felt...they were two completely different views that clashed.
"I am sure we wont Mick."
Giving smile to Mick and reaches out brushing her hand along his cheek. Stopping at his jaw line to whip some dirt off.
"Like I said, I'll stand behind you but don't tell Dan short to quick is all I ask. He's a good guy, with a strong christian faith of his own. He's made mistakes like us all but he's learned. So all I asked it just...not to jump to quickly."
She just wanted Mick to know how she felt, but no matter what happened she still would be behind him. Giving him the support he needed. Right now Mick was going to need all the help he could to stay on his own right path. If Rosetta had to sacrifice a little for him, than that is what she would do to help him all she could.
Working on her car Ryan doesn't even notice Leo coming into the shop. Lost in her own little world today thing just didn't seem to be going right. She'd made it to work on time but since she had been here her brain just wasn't with it.
Hearing Jed's voice Ryan looks up for a moment, but seeing he was talking to Leo and no one else she looks back down at the car engine. She had to get this right, she had to get this done. But hearing Leo's comment back Ryan couldn't help but snap her head up again. She cheats....Those words sent a gut ranching feeling to Ryan's stomach, her eyes locking with Leo's the pain that surged through them was nothing that had ever been seem before, and the the sick feeling could of almost made her double over right there. She was a rock, a stone wall but something about what Leo had said really hurt.
Finally looking away from him Ryan looks down at the wrench in her hand just twirling it for a moment. She could feel the wet sensation build in her eyes. The fire hot tears that wanted to pour over even though she willed them not to. She wouldn't cry, not here. She was stronger than that.
Turning back to her car and behind over the engine Ryan continues to work once again trying to block out all else. Tonight she would race, tonight she would get lost in the rush, she just had to make to it tonight...when she could be free.
Pulling her car up along side Scott Hope gets out with a small basket in hand. Getting out and making her way over to Scott who sat on the hood of his car. Giving him a smile she reached out to touch his hand. It'd been a day maybe even almost two since she last saw him, and oh how she had missed him.
"Hey there...You sure are a sight for sore eyes."

Beat the clock
Mick nods a little at Rosetta, just trying to let his mind think through this whole thing. He understood what she was saying - he did. But maybe his views were a little different, being Jade's father.
"Thanks... for supporting me. I just... I don't know. I guess I wish Dan would have come to me first. But then, I was the drunk in rehab so maybe I didn't deserve the luxury of telling him yes or no."
Sighing, he was kicking himself on the inside. He knew he really wasn't to blame... or was he? "You know... someone once said once that if a girl didn't get attention from her father... emotional... physical like hugs, kisses, that sort of thing... that she'd go looking elsewhere. Maybe in all this... me not being there for Jade to grow up... I don't know." He shrugs lamely, not quite sure what he was saying. "Maybe I'm blaming myself for her running after a guy like Dan."
Taking another sip of his tea, he gives Rosetta a sidelong glance, along with a wry grin. "You know good and well I don't approve of this whole thing. Honestly, I don't know what I want to say to them yet but... I have a feeling from what you just said that... you and I might not quite see eye-to-eye on this."
Scott shakes his head numbly at Dalton. "No... thanks, though."
Falling back into silence, he is pretty quiet the rest of the evening, though does manage to drink half a can of Mountain Dew. Curling up on the couch for the rest of the night, Domino and a blanket kept him warm, though his mind wandered too much to sleep well. It was a nightmare that woke him at three in the morning, and sleepless hours followed until he finally dropped off again only to sleep so soundly that he missed Dalton leaving for work.
Eventually he wakes to Domino licking his face, and he forces himself to get up for the day. Making it out and to his own house to get his mail and pick up his phone seems to take all morning and he doesn't even know why, but by noon, he's made it to the lake and is waiting for Hope. Domino stayed in the car while he had gotten out and sat cross-legged on the hood of his car, staring out at the lake. It was a fair day today with a light breeze blowing. Scott's eyes were far away... so far away.
Leo gets to the shop about ten minutes late the next morning, having slept through his alarm and rushed to get ready for the day. His hair was a bit messed and his clothes were wrinkled, but he was here.
Into the shop and clocking in, he heads straight for his car, barely greeting the other guys. Getting to the car to work on, he glances over to Ryan's space, remembering Cassy's words from the night before. He shakes his head... he couldn't do it. He couldn't act all tough and brave and pretend his heart hadn't just been ripped in two. Or... could he?
"Yo, Leo!" Jed hollers. "I'm putting my money on Ryan beating you to the clock today."
Leo straightens up, tossing his wrench in the air and catching it. "You kidding me?" He laughs and shakes his head. "Don't ever put your money on Ryan, bro. She cheats. It's my turn to win today."
"Thanks... for supporting me.

Stand behind you
Rosetta gives a thoughtful nod as she listens to Mick. She could understand where he was coming from and why he felt this way. It was a lot to take in at once, and Jade was still a little young. But at the same time Rosetta could see the kids side to.
"Well, I do agree with you. It is a lot, and Jade is young. but at the same time I think she is also very mature for her age and understand more than we think. If they keep both there sites on God, and a healthy relationship than we should just take one day at a time."
Picking up her coffee mug that have been sitting on the table before she has started the dishes Rosetta takes a swig. Thinking for a moment before she spoke again.
"Not only that, but your blood runs though Jade, she is bullheaded and strong willed just like you. If you tell her no she can't marry Dan than it might just turn out worse. I'd rather know what was going on than have them sneaking behind our back where something more major could happen ya know?"
Letting out a small sigh over the whole situation Rosetta new this was hard. She was now in the middle. She had very own views on this whole thing and no matter what someone would be angry with her. But...even if she didnt agree Mick was her husband. She had to trust he new what to do, and they could talk more on any desitions together.
"No matter what ends up happing though Mick, I'll stand behind you, as long as we can talk about it first."
Looking up as Scott enters the room again Dalton gives a smile. Pulling his long legs closer to him he offers Scott the other end of the couch. The pizza box lay on the table with only four slices left.
"Of course I don't mind if you stay still. I am the one who offered after all."
Flipping through the channels again Dalton can't find anything to watch. The normal shows he liked weren't on and nothing else seemed to grab his attachen. Turning to Scott a little Dalton's studys him for a moment. He was happy Scott would be staying but he was still worried about his friend.
"Is there anything I can do for you?"
Giving a soft smile and a nod Cassy understood what Leo was saying. Though that was the last thing from her mind, it was probably a good thing he left for the night. She needed a little sleep herself.
"It was get catching up Leo. Remember to keep your head up at work tomorrow. Everything happens for a reason."
Following Leo to the door and saying good night Cassy lingers watching his car drive down the road. A small faint smile was on her lips as her arms wrapped around herself. Everything was messed up, everything wasn't right, but it would be ok in time. After the pain healed, she and Leo would be...ok.

Appetite
Leo smiles, knowing what Cassy meant. He didn't feel like going yet either, but he knew it was getting late and he should go. "We're both lonely tonight, Cassy... that's what I'm afraid of." His eyes are gentle and he gives her a wink, knowing she would understand. More mistakes was what neither of them needed.
"Thanks for the tea and the conversation." Taking his jacket and fishing for his keys, he heads for the door but turns around once more. "It was good to see you again. Good luck with your studio and... if you ever need work done on your car, look me up. I could get you a good deal."
"I miss you too." Scott is silent for a few long moments before letting out a sigh. "Good night, Hope. I'll... see you tomorrow."
Ending the call, he hangs up the phone and just sits a while, hearing the television in the other room. He looks down at his slice of pizza and takes one more bite, but then pushes it away. He hadn't had an appetite for days... maybe weeks, he couldn't remember. If he wasn't careful, Rick would get after him, but for now, he just didn't want to eat.
Getting up from the table, he wanders into the living room and finds the end of the couch to sit, pulling his feet up too to rest his knees against his chest. He was so thin, it was easy for him to do as he wraps his arms around his legs and stares at the television. "I'll take you up on your offer to stay," he mentions to Dalton. "If... if it's still okay with you."
Mick was a little relieved that Rosetta didn't know this either - at least he hadn't been purposely left out of the loop. "Christmas morning, apparently. I guess Dan went up to see Jade and asked her and she said yes."
He takes a deep breath and lets it out slowly. "They just told me a bit ago... I didn't know what to say so I just walked away before I said something I'd regret. I just..." He shakes his head. "Can't believe it or I don't understand or something. I don't think Jade has any idea what she's getting herself into. I mean, to date Dan is one thing but... but to marry him? I just think it's a little much at this point... for her... for her age, I don't know."

3/6/10
No idea
"Its gonna be alot of work, and I'm not sure who I am going to get to help me with the heavy lifting but It will be something to keep my mind busy, and bring in the money for the time being."
Taking a bit of her cookie and setting the bag down on the table Cassy gives a nod, and a small smile. It had been nice having Leo here, different and nice.
"Yeah, it is getting late, and you probably should go...but I don't see ether of us in a hurry to for it."
Cassy smiles again knowing if Leo really did have to go she understood. Just because she didn't feel like being alone quite yet, didn't mean she wouldn't be ok.
Still feeling a little weary about Scott just Hope knows he'll be ok with Dalton but she couldn't help a little worry anyways. She cared about Scott, and she loved him. Never would she want anything bad to even come to him. He was more than just a pashent and a friend to her now, he was so much more.
"Yeah that sounds good. Noon at the lake. I can't wait to see you. I miss you Scott!"
Hearing that Mick wanted to talk to her a little worry coursed through Rosetta. She could only wonder what was going on now, and seeing the look that passed through Mick's eyes it wasn't something to great.
"Sure, whats up?"
Hearing his question Rosetta can't help the shocked look on her face. She hadn't had a change to talk with Dan or Jade much since they had gotten home so the new was new to her.
"They are what? When did this happen? I had no idea."
Rosetta's eyes shown with her confusion proving she really hadnt known anything at all.

Aim to please
"Your own studio - wow. That's... that's great." Leo nods, his words genuine. "Lot of work but... worth it. Cool."
Setting aside his mug, he picks up the spoon and sets it inside with a little clank. Having the cookies offered to him, he thinks a moment, then shakes his head, even though the snack sounded good. "It's... getting late, Cassy. I should go." Even though he said it, he didn't rise from the chair quite yet.
"Um..." Scott thinks a moment. "I'll... I'll meet you there about noon, okay? I don't know where I'm gonna be before that."
Pausing again, he leans back in his chair, running a hand through his hair before rubbing his blind eye that was sore. He knew Hope had been worried and he really didn't know why he'd failed to talk with her earlier today. He just... didn't feel like himself.
"So does that sound alright?"
Mick can't help his grin and deep chuckle as Rosetta comes to him. Sliding his arms around her waste, he pulls her close as she kisses him. "Mmm...." Pulling back a little, he sways a bit, his eyes twinkling. "Well... I aim to please."
Kissing her again, he lets it linger a few moments before drawing away again. Sighing, he gives her a squeeze. "I, um... wanted to talk to you about something..."
Keeping an arm around her shoulder, he wanders farther into the kitchen to grab a glass and pour himself some iced tea. Sitting down at the table, he motions for Rosetta to sit next to him. After taking a long swing of tea, he runs a hand over his face. The twinkle was gone now and it was more of concern that shone through.
"Did you know Jade and Dan were engaged?"

Fresh Baked
Hearing Leo worked at an auto shop Cassy gives a thoughtful nod. It was good respective work and if he liked it than why not.
"Hey at least working in the Auto shop you can sit behind the wheel of some nice expensive cars and not have to worry about making the car payment on them huh?"
Finishing off her tea and setting the cup down Cassy gives Leo a smile. Almost all the liquor was out of her system now and her mind was thinking completely straight.
"Well...at the moment I am in the process of starting up my own dance studio to teach. I don't think it will be a permanent thing, but since I can't dance myself at the moment I might as well help those who can."
Cassy had been leery about starting her own dance studio, but it was a way to kill time and make some money while she couldn't dance. It gave her a small joy to, giving her skill knowledge to those so who could still dance.
Standing Cassy takes her glass to the sink rinsing it out before putting it in the dishwasher. Going to the cupboard she pulls out some cookies in a baggie and brings them back to the table opening them up and offering one to Leo.
"Would you like a cookie? They are fresh just baked they yesterday."
"Your never bothering me Scott. I like knowing whats going on with you so I don't have a reason to worry. When I don't know it just makes it worse."
Leaning back in her chair Hope closes her eyes for a moment. She had been so worried about Scott all day that now she felt so exhausted knowing he was ok and her body could slow down. Knowing Scott was going to spend the night with Dalton helped Hope feel a little more at easy as well. Just know if he needed anything someone would be there.
Hearing Scott would like to see her tomorrow make Hope feel good. Seeing Scott after not seeing him all day would be nice, she was defiantly up for that.
"I think lunch at the lake would be perfect. Would you like me to pick you up or meet you there?"
Turning around at the sound of Mick's voice Rosetta gives a smile. It was so nice being able to turn around and see him standing in the door. Having him home again was so nice Rosetta really had missed him.
Whipping her hands off on a towle Rosetta throws it on the counter before wondering over to Mick. He might be sweaty and smell a little funny, but that only meant he was working, and he was here with her. Rosetta loved him even than.
Slipping her arms around Mick's neck Rosetta draws closer to him. Smelly or not Rosetta didn't mind.
"I don't mind it all that much weather you need a show or not. Lets me know your really here. Not to mention your pretty sexy all hot and sweaty."
Leaning in close Rosetta's eyes slip closed as she press her lips to Mick's. Just taking in the feelings and letting the passion take over. She could melt right there, in Mick's arms and not even think twice about it.

So confused
Leo gives a dry laugh. "Yeah... I don't think holding my head high will do anything to Ryan. She's the toughest chick I know."
Sighing, he drinks more of his tea, deep in thought until he finally shrugs. "J&J Auto. I'm a mechanic. Better dancer than a mechanic, but it's a job. I guess I like it. Fixing things. Making things run right. I guess maybe I'm more skilled with a car engine than my own life as far as running it right goes."
Pursing his lips, he looks down into his almost empty cup. "You? What do you do now?"
Scott looks down at the table as Hope talks, more depressed than he'd felt in a very long time. "I... I just... there's a lot on my mind ya know? And..."
He sighs and puts his head down on his arm, leaving barely enough room between his chin and table to hold the phone. "I didn't want to bother you and I don't know... I just... I haven't figured enough out lately to even try to explain."
Pausing for a long moment, her words replay in his mind. Her tone was so worried... he didn't like worrying her. And he knew he owed her more than his silence. He'd just been so confused lately. A tear forms in his eye and slowly rolls down his cheek.
"I'm... I'm gonna spend the night here with Dalton." He draws in his breath, sniffing a little. "I don't want to come in to work tomorrow though. I just... can't deal with it right now. But... could we... I don't know... meet at the lake or something? I know it's kinda cold but... unless you have a better idea?"
Dylan shakes his head as BJ walks away, muttering, "Shut up" under his breath. This place sucked. Plain and simple. And he wouldn't be happy until he left... until he didn't have to see these stupid animals every day... until he didn't have to see his father every day."
By now, Mick is drenched in sweat and breathing heavily, his heart racing from the physical exertion of chopping wood. Standing back from the split pieces, he sets the axe down and retreats to sit on the back porch of the house, staring at the mess of wood. Now he needed to pile it up, but he was too tired. At least he was beyond losing his temper now, but he was still upset. How many people knew Jade and Dan were engaged? Did Rosetta know? What would she think?
Hearing some noise from inside the house, he imagined she was inside, maybe cleaning dishes in the kitchen. He'd hated being away from her... he couldn't start up again now.
Getting to his feet, he wanders inside, his footsteps sounding from his boots on the wood floor. Finding Rosetta just where he'd though he would, he leans on the doorway, cocking his head and just watching her for several moments. A small smile comes to his lips. "I'd come wrap my arms around you and never let you go if I didn't know I needed a shower," he teases.

Don't Pretend
Though a little bit of emotion flickers in BJ's eyes at Dylan's comment he says nothing about it. Only picking at the corners of the instruction book he was holding quiet for a long moment.
Just sitting and listing to Dylan and his reasons for not liking it here BJ's mind starts to process. Some things he was slow in, but understanding and breaking down other stuff is where his skill came in.
Standing BJ continues to look down at the ground for a moment as his foot dug into the dirt. Maybe he understood a little bit of where Dylan was coming from. When he first came here, all he wanted was Sam again, and to be with her. Though he didn't show it, he didn't like it here ether. But things had changed since than, and though the situation was different, in a way it was kind of the same.
Looking up at Dylan BJ cocks his head a little to one side as his nose scrunches just a little.
"The people here...don't pretend there lives are perfect. They just know how to be happy with what they have. Because you can always be far worse. I'll see you later....Big Brother."
Turning around BJ brakes into a run leaving as fast as he came going back to the house the only thing on his mind now was his game and the excitement to play.
Hearing Scott on the other end of the phone Hope's heart races. To hear his voice and know he was ok brought small tears to her eyes. She had been so worryed something had happend, just knowing he was ok now it was a releaf.
"Oh Scott...I am so happy your ok. Don't worry about missing lunch just knowing your ok now its forgotten."
Taking in a deep breath Hope could tell there was more on Scott's mind and she only wish he would talk to her. He felt like he had to go through this alone but he didn't. She wanted to be there in body and strange for him.
"Scott....can we talk about whats been going on? I want to be there for you and I know its been more than what you have been telling me. I just....don't want to be left in the dark. I want to help you and be there for you because your not as alone as you think you are. I love you Scott and I don't want to see anything bad happen."
Looking up at Leo Cassy gives him a small smile as she takes another sip of her tea. His words were kind and made her feel a tiny bit better, but it was better than not feeling better at all and she did appreciate it.
"Thanks for not thinking I am to crazy. We both get dumped on the same day, and meet up in a bar after not seeing each other for a long time. Talk about a small world huh?"
Holding the warm cup in her hands Cassy looking up at Leo studying him while he continued to talk. The emotions as he talked about his ex was hidden behind his eyes well, but a little did seem to slip out. Cassy new he was hurting, and she could see he cared about her and did want her hurt. Its possable thats where some of his anger came from.
"I guess sometimes we need to learn the hard way huh? Though it still sucks and I am sorry she did that to you. She must not be a smart one to let you go your such a sweet guy. I could see how working with her would both you too. I couldn't do it, so I give ya credit. But I think maybe the best thing you can do is show her she didn't break you ya know? Just keep you head up and know there will be a tomorrow. Thats...why I am going to try anyways, don't know how well it will work, but its worth a try."
Letting out a long sigh Cassy sets her tea down on the table moving the tea bag around in what little tea was left before looking at Leo again.
"Where do you work?"
"Where do you work?"
Hate
Leo bypasses Cassy's question for now, feeling as though he should at least say something in response to her explanation.
"I'm sorry. No one should feel like dead weight." He takes a sip of his tea, finding that it tasted pretty good tonight. "If he dropped you now though, it's just as well that you found out what he was really like rather than even further down the road."
He looks over to see Cassy's emotion-filled eyes. "You're not crazy either, by the way. I know the look you're talking about."
Sighing, he stares down into the tea, the steam gently rising. Her question still was unanswered and he knew it was only fair that he now took his turn at explaining. "Yeah... yeah I guess it was a dark cloud that led me to the bar tonight."
He shrugs lamely, still somewhat in a state of shock over the whole thing. "Girlfriend dumped me today. She didn't say it straight out, but I know it's because of another guy and he's bad news. But I guess if she wants to take that risk rather than sticking with someone like me then that's her choice. Better to be rid of her than have her hang around while her eyes wander elsewhere. Sucks I gotta work with her every day though."
Scott takes the phone and nods numbly to Dalton. He didn't know if he would be staying or not. His mind was just in such a state that he could only think of one thing at a time and right now he knew he needed to call Hope.
Dialing, he listens to the rings then finally her voice answering. "Hope... it's me. I... I'm with Dalton. I, um... I'm sorry about lunch today. Had a rough night and totally spaced it. He said you were worried so I thought I would call."
He bites his lip, feeling sorry for making her worry. He'd just felt like he'd been half-dead all day long and he knew Hope would be able to sense his weariness in his voice. "I...I don't know if I'll be in to work tomorrow either."
Dylan scoffs as BJ sits down. "If you're so smart, how come you talk like a five-year-old?" He knew good and well about BJ's speech problems, but a biting remark was what he'd wanted.
Hearing BJ's question, he rolls his eyes. "Well for starters, I can't even get any time alone without some pain-in-the-butt little kid coming and bothering me. Second, I hate Dad and I don't want to be around him. Third, I hate horses - they stink. Fourth, I don't want to spend my days looking at all the happy-go-lucky faces around here of all the hypocrites who pretend to have perfect lives."
He knew he was talking over BJ's head, but also knew the tone would get his point across. "Now for the last time... go away and leave me alone."

Brain Rotter
Dalton gives a small nod and holds out his cell. He new his friend needed some time. Though it maybe wasn't the best for him only jumping on him would make it worse.
"Here ya go Buddy."
Grabbing one of the pizza boxes and balancing his cup on the top Dalton new Scott might like some time on the phone with Hope. He didn't need his big ears listing in to his ever word.
"I'll be in the living room seeing whats on the old brain rotter if you wanna join me when your done. Then offer to stay here is still open to and its no trouble. I have the spare bedroom all set up already."
Blinking at Dylan again BJ just stands there for a moment. Though his eyes never seem to change to those of someone who had been hurt. Dylan's remarks just didn't seem to faze him.
"Nope, I am eight..but I'm smart so I can play this game, and you shouldn't be so grumpy it makes your face look funny."
Moving over to the tree next to Dylan BJ sits down. Opening the instructions again he is quiet for a long moment trying to read the words on the page and doing a pretty good job.
Finally looking up again BJ squints in the sun light.
"How come you hate it here?"
Turning back around to the cabinet Cassy trys to pick witch tea she should brew. Finally settling on some peach tea she takes it down. Starting the kettle, she thinks for a long moment about Leo's question. It was a hard subject, still an open wound but he asked she might as well tell him now.
"Yes, they are connected. The stuff in the box belong to my ex boyfriend."
Drawing quiet for a moment she waits till the tea pot whistles and pours the hot water into the cups dipping the tea bags in. Slowly limping over to the table she sets one down for Leo, pulling out a chair for herself and sitting down.
Running a finger along the rim of the cup she just thinks for a long moment before finally speaking again.
"This morning, Tom my ex decide since its been a year and I cant dance anymore there would be no way of him making it to the top with...dead weaght I guess would be what you call it."
Cassy takes a sip of her coffee letting the hot liquid roll down her throat. Emotion filled her eyes showing the wound was very new, and stung very much. From the get go Tom had told her he'd stick it out and he loved her. So to have this happen now really did sting.
"More than likely he's already found some other dancer that could take him to the top. He didn't say it...but its just one of those things you can see in someones eyes. I know crazy but...I just could."
Letting out a long sigh and sitting a little straighter in the chair Cassy's eyes drift to Leo and she gives a small smile.
"Anyways, he didn't live here but most of his time was spent here taking up residence on the couch and using my extra room to store things so he has a lot of crap around. I'm just trying to get it together so I dont have to have him hanging around hours on end just making things worse."
Taking another sip and than just looking down into the liquid as the tea bag floats Cassy does her best to compose herself before looking up at Leo again.
"So, is the dark cloud behind your eye the reason for being at the bar tonight?"

Forgot
Scott sits at the table, his fingers playing with a napkin until he finally decides to eat a piece of pizza at least. Being reminded of Hope, he groans. "I can't believe I forgot we were supposed to do lunch today." He sighs and shakes his head. "And my phone... is home I guess. I... I just didn't want..."
He shrugs and takes a sip of Mountain Dew, though after just a couple bites of pizza, he'd already slowed down as if he wasn't going to eat any more. "I wanted the quiet? I don't know." Sighing, he nods. "If I can borrow your phone, I'll call her."
Leo follows Cassy into her apartment, taking a look around and noticing the boxes but he doesn't ask about it yet. Moving to the kitchen, it had a pleasant feel to it and he chooses to sit at the table. Given a choice of warm drink, he thinks as moment. "Uh... any kind of tea. Surprise me. Easier than making a batch of coffee."
Looking around again, he folds his hands and squints one eye at Cassy. "So... are half-packed boxes and a visit to the Bullseye connected?"
Dylan rolls his eyes at the instruction book. "Real smart, kid. You do realize you're not ten yet, right? Or don't you know that either?"
He waves the boy away. "Leave me alone. And stop calling me big brother. I don't want to play a stupid game and I don't want you or anybody else around. Go find your daddy. He likes playing with you." He points in the direction of the house.

Good Progress
Just giving a blink at Dylan BJ's tiny eyes squint just a little. Cocking his head to one said BJ moves just a little bit closer to Dylan looking down at the instruction book.
"This is not a kids da....d...da...gaje....fram...g...ame...."
BJ tried his best to sound out how Dylan had said game, but still found it hard. Finally though breaking the g from the rest he was able to somewhat say the word. Holding the instruction book out to Dylan he points to the one corner.
"See...it says ages ten and up."
BJ's smile grows even bigger as he draws closer to Dylan not even really paying to much attachen to his mean comment or the fact he wanted to be left alone.
"I'm not picking on you Big brother, thats silly."
Giving a nod to Scott as he follows him, and Domino not trailing to far behind Dalton understood why maybe Scott didn't want to go home. It was possible a part of him didn't want to take Dalton's invitation but maybe another part did and thats why he feel asleep. Dalton didn't know but one way or the other he was happy Scott was here now.
Grabbing the pizza from the top of the car it doesn't take long to get inside. Taking down plates and than getting a bowl with water for Domino. Pouring some Mountain dew for in each glass and opening the pizza boxs Dalton looks at it with a hunger in his eyes. He'd missed lunch today and was now famished.
"Dig in, and pig out. I plane on it."
Reaching for his first slice Dalton lets the silence just rule as he takes a bit, chews and savors the taste. Oh how good food tasted after going a whole day with non. Finally giving himself a little breathing room he lets his mouth work to make more room.
"Hope was pretty worried about you today when she tried calling you and got no answer. You might want to call her so she knows your ok. Oh yeah, Angelica, and David said they are making some good progess in making it safe for JT and Bree to come home."
Getting out of Leo's car and walking just a little ways down the sidewalk Cassy shows the way. It wasn't far from where they parked and being all lined up in a row it was hard to hit exactly in front of the house unless you were lucky.
Unlocking the doors and flipping on the first set of lights a hall way stretched in front of them. To the left was a large room that one could tell was a living room, a dinning room branches from there and than a kitchen wrapped around behind. On the right side was a din, a laundry room branches off there, and than connected with the other side of the kitchen. Straight in front of them down the long hallway was the bathroom, than to the left a bedroom, and the right another bedroom with the door closed.
"Here we can go this was to the kitchen. You'll have to excuse the mess...I'm....in the middle of having somethings packed."
Leading the way through the living room boxes layed out across the floor filled with tights, shoes, book, and a few other odds and end. In the kitchen was a bar with stools in the middle, it was painted a light colors blue with wood cabinet.
"Mmm...make yourself at home. You can sit at the bar there or over at the table."
Cassy flips on a large light that brightened up the whole room. Going to the cubord pulling out a few coffee mugs. Turning and leaning on the counter a little to take the weight off her knee she gives a smile to Leo. Everything was a little foggy still but after the fresh air it was starting to clear up.
"So Leo..would you like coffee, or the many different kinds of tea I own but hardly ever drink?"
"This is not a kids da....d...da...gaje....fram...g...ame...."

A little while
Hearing the tap on the window, Scott's eyes snap open from his light sleep. Turning quickly, he sleepily takes in Dalton's form, his fears immediately put to ease. Domino jumps and looks up, giving a short bark before hearing Dalton's voice and wiggling her little tail.
Scott nods groggily at Dalton's offer for supper. Just now waking up, he was stiff from sitting in his car for so long and still wasn't thinking quite straight. Following Dalton numbly was all he could think of at the moment.
Straightening up and getting out of the car, he blinks, trying to lift the fog from his brain. "I guess I... fell asleep," he mumbles. "I was gonna leave but... I don't know." He shrugs and follows Dalton to the apartment, Domino tagging along behind them. Shoulders slouched and gaze down, Scott looked much like he did months ago before taking his life back. These nightmares... these thoughts... these fears... they were dragging him down again and he didn't know how to pull himself back up.
Getting inside, he tells Domino to settle down right by the door, not wanting her to run all over Dalton's apartment. "Um... thank you... thanks, Dalton. I really haven't been... I mean, I just didn't wanna go home yet."
At Cassy's invitation, Leo looks to her a little too quickly, question in his eye as to what her intentions were. He didn't mean to think anything of it, but the way it was asked, and coming from the bar... it did make him wonder.
Hearing her backtrack makes him realize that what was going through his mind must have been pretty evident, and he can't help a little wry grin. "Coffee or tea, huh?"
Biting his lip, he looks around outside for a moment, weighing his options. "I, um..." He turns back to Cassy, his expression one that said he wasn't looking forward to this night either. "Why not? I guess I don't wanna be alone yet either. But only for a little while, okay?"
Shutting off the car, he pulls out his keys. At least this way he could make sure she got inside and sobered up before leaving her. He'd feel better about it that way. Getting out, he waits for Cassy to lead the way.
"Aw for - " Dylan curses as his annoyance rises when BJ approaches him. "Look, it's 'game' not 'dame,' and I don't play kid games, alright? I thought you'd quit trying to bug me."
While he remained silent with the adults, that method wouldn't work with a kid, so best to just get him out of his way. "Go pick on somebody else," he growls.

Play with me
Giving Jade another squeeze Dan looks down at her and nods. He new it was rough for her to deal with everything and there was a good chance he wouldn't approve. Him being upset on top of it would do no good. So Dan kept his cool for Jade's sake and they would just have to wait and see how things went.
"Hey if I can you help with one out of these twenty thats a big help."
Just smile Dan tried his best to made Jade laugh before she went to help Becky. He didn't want her to worry to much, and continued to try and reassure here everything would be ok.
Having searched for most of the day BJ little legs grew tired. He had done his best to try and find Dylan to see if maybe he wanted to play the new game of Mouse Trap he had just got. But to no avail BJ was going to give up.
Giving one more glance around the ranch the little boy's eyes find Dan and Jade, they looked to be working. Having a nice time but working he didn't want to bother them even though he new there would be no objection from them to his company.
Continuing to look his eyes finally spot the figure sliding down by the tree. A wide grin forms he found Dylan finally. Jumping off the pouch once again BJ's little gets run fast across the yard finally getting to Dylan he was out of breath. Just standing there a moment to catch the air in his lungs again. Finally though his face beams at he looks at Dylan.
"Dylan, Dylan I got a new dame, and I though you would wike to play it with me. It's a fun one mom got me."
BJ holds up the instruction booklet he had been carrying around trying to read while he had been looking for Dylan.
As the car starts forward and the silence just rules out Cassy gaze it out the window. Her own mind seeming to be heavy with what had driven her to the bar today and though silence gave time to think, silence shared with other just seemed comforting.
It didn't take to long to get to her apartment complex. Stopped outside her hand goes for the handle but she stops. Turning a little to Leo some of the alcohol had warn off. Enough to be thinking straight. Looking back at her apartment where the windows were all dark Cassy lets out a long sigh. It would be strange going home, and not having anyone there.
"I...I think so, just don't feel like being alone I guess."
Looking back to Leo again she gives a small smile.
"Leo would you like to come up for some tea or coffee?"
Pausing Cassy quickly see the look that pass through Leo's eyes that this might not be a good idea with her tips. Giving another smile and a shake of her head Cassy continues.
"Only coffee or tea, no other intention crossed my mind. Just two friends having a cup of coffee or tea."
And she meant it. No other thoughts passed through her mind about Leo coming up. The company would be nice, and catching up with an old friend would be even better.
Pulling into his driveway Dalton gets out of his car. Going over to the passenger door to pull out the two pizza he had ordered for dinner. Turning he catches sight of a familiar car sitting across the street. Setting the pizza on top of the car Dalton looks a little harder realizing who's car it was.
Crossing the street he approached with caution not wanting to startle Scott at all. Hope had been worryed about him all day, and Dalton had become a little concerned himself. So now hopefully everything with Scott was ok and he had just been waiting.
Bending down to be eye level with the window Dalton gives a light tap and a friendly smile to his little buddy. Raising his voice a little so it could be heard through the glass.
"Hey you should of told me you would be waiting outside I would of come home sooner. I've got enough pizza to feed an army, and mountain dew to go around. Interested in joining me?"

Asleep
Jade sniffs and nods to Dan, thankful that he wasn't upset like she was. Maybe he was right... maybe her dad wasn't totally against it and was just too surprised was all.
Wiping her eyes with her sleeve, she joins Dan back where the ropes were. "Okay. I gotta go help Becky in a while but for now I'll stay out here with you."
Looking up at Dan again, she musters up a smile. "Thank you for..." She shrugs. "Just being you."
Mick walks slowly from the scene, his mind reeling. Dan and Jade were engaged. First they'd gone against his will to date at all and now Dan hadn't even waited for him to ask his permission. He didn't know if he would have granted it anyway but it would have been nice to know this was coming.
Reaching the corner of the barn, he stops and stares out into one of the pastures. He wasn't really... angry. Just... upset. Turning around, he heads out back behind the main house where the wood pile was. He had other work to do, but right now, he needed to release some of this energy before his mouth got the best of him.
Taking off his jacket, he rolls up his sleeves, knowing that though it was chilly now, he was going to get warmed up. Grabbing the axe, he checks to make sure it's still sharp, then goes to work on the wood. Each swing was represented by his frustration. Every crack of the wood was his emotions driven out through the physical activity. Each bead of sweat was a sign of hard inner turmoil.
Dylan wanders around the perimeter of the ranch, having been hiding out the last couple days. He knew his sister was back but he hadn't even seen her yet, avoiding everyone. So far his dad hadn't made him come be sociable, and thankfully BJ hadn't found him yet either.
Leaning against one of the large oak trees, he eyes the ranch, his gaze finding Dan and Jade not all that far away. Boyfriend? He didn't know. He looked nice enough. They looked like they were having a good time together at least.
He sighs and kicks at the ground, his hands stuffed in his pockets. Why was it him that had to be miserable? He hated this place and just wanted to be freed. Lack of motivation keeps him under the tree and he finally slides down to sit on the cold ground, finding a twig to pick at.
"Alright. Come on." Leo walks with Cassy to the door. If he hadn't known her from the studio, he probably wouldn't have offered to be a ride, but she was a nice young woman and he didn't want her going and getting herself hurt, taxi or not.
"Car's over here," he directs, pointing her to his car. Getting in, he pulls out and makes sure Cassy's buckled up before heading to Lincoln street. He's quiet during the ride, still uptight from the day's events.
Arriving at the apartment complex, he stops on the street curb, putting his car in park. "Well..." He turns his head to Cassy. "You gonna be alright?"
Scott still sat in his car. Domino was asleep in his lap and he didn't even know how long he'd been dozing. His head rested against his window and it was quite uncomfortable, but he'd been so exhausted that he'd simply drifted off.
It was getting to be evening though, and he was still parked outside Dalton's apartments. He'd planned on leaving before Dalton got back, having decided he wouldn't stay, but having been sleeping now, he had no sense of time.

Baby girl
Watching Mick leave and feeling Jade lean into him Dan wraps his arms around her. Rubbing her back Dan gave a small nod to the thin air. It could of been worse and in a way he respected Mick walk away.
"Hey Hey...no tears now. Just because he walked away doesn't means he it totally against it. He just need to think before he says anything he might regret."
Pulling Jade away just a little but Dan puts a finger under her chin and tilts her head upwards. Placing a soft kiss on her lips he retreats and brings a thumb to under her eye just whipping away the tears,
"Just give him some time ok? After all you are his baby girl."
Dan gives a smile as his hand remains on the side of Jade's face just cradling it. Looking into her deep eyes that held so much life, and so much emotion for someone so young.
"How about you come help me with these ropes...mmm..?"
Listing to Leo Cassy nods her head knowing all to well what he was talking about. Today certainly had been one of those days and wallowing seemed to just be the best answer. And everyone came to the bullseye for those days. Not to classy, but not to trashy ether.
Watching as Leo gets up to go Cassy takes one last swig of her beer. About to telling him it was good seeing him and bye she is met with his question about a driver. Giving a smile and a shake of her head she reply.
"I don't, but I am not that foolish I was going to call a taxi. But if your offering to take me. I live in the apartments over on Lincoln st."
Throwing her money down on the table for the beers Cassy gentile slips off the stool. Taking a moment to get the blood flowing to her leg again after sitting for so long she was ready. Slowing making her way to the door a little slower than normal, with a limp in her step.
