Coming inside Misty did feel a little better knowing Trooper was there too. He was a big dog, and could be a ham but once given an order and knowing he had a job to do the dog never strayed from it unless told other wise by Jason. Looking to Alec she trys to smile a little bit.
"Don't worry Trooper wont bother you. Jason ordered him to stay at the door he will."
Searching Alec's face Misty could see he had many questions maybe even a little worry. Maybe for her more than himself. She had to admit she was a little worried too. Not knowing much of what was going on it was hard not too.
Looking around the house Misty hated feeling like it was unsafe here. Even before She and Carson got married she been in this apartment for a while. Now to think it was not safe was just hard. She was happy however that she had Alec and Jason there two people she new would never let anything happen to her.
"We really don't know whats going on with Carson. Reese didn't fill Jason in on much only to watch this place for a few days and they are keeping him at TJY over night."
Misty lets out a sigh shaking her head. More twists and turns with Carson she couldn't help but feel the Agency was another he's cheated on her, and left. His old habits were returning and if that was true she was happy he'd left. She never want that around her, or her child.
"Alright, Anyone hungry? I am a little, but now a days I always am."
Letting out a small sigh Katie gives a little rub to Carson's back. She wanted to say more but really there was nothing more to be said. Until she new what would happen next She didn't know what else to say. She did wish there was some magic words she could say but there wasn't.
"Hang in there ok Carson? Just a little while long...you have us to back you now though. You're not alone anymore. I believe you!"
Tightening her arm that was around Carson's shoulder for a second and leaning her head on his shoulder for a second it was the best form of a hug she new how to give right now. No matter what it took Katie would do her best to stay involved in this and be close to Carson. They were friends and she wasn't letting him do this alone.
"I better get going. More than likely I am gonna be in trouble for being down here already. I'll see you soon ok?"
9/13/12
Awake
Carson sighs deeply and nods. "I'm trying so hard..." Yes, he'd stopped going to church, but that had been part of his lie - not something he enjoyed. He talked to God every day and continued his habit of daily Bible reading and prayer - even more so lately. Even so, all he'd done was get deeper and deeper into this mess, still without answers. He didn't understand and he wished he knew why all of this was happening. But he truly was trying to hang on to God through it all, even if it looked to everybody else like he'd abandoned his faith.
Finally retreating from Katie, he folds his arms on the table again to rest his head. He appreciated the food she'd brought... he'd eat some later. Right now he was just too miserable to eat.
Jason grins at Misty. "I wouldn't mind staying up all night if it was with you..." He chuckles and shakes his head. "How 'bout I drive your car and... after coffee we swing by my place so I can pick up a few things before heading to your house..."
...It was much later, and Alec had fallen asleep on the couch while watching television. The front door opening wakes him though, and he sits up sleepily, expecting it to be Misty. When the form of a dog appears in the living room though, he's on his feet in an instant, fully awake. "What the..."
Trooper gives a low woof - more of a greeting than a threat, but it's still enough to make Alec jump and skirt around the couch, using it as a barrier between him and the massive dog.
"Trooper," Jason calls. "Your place is by the door tonight. Come on."
Trooper takes another look at Alec before finally turning around and obediently lying down near the door.
Jason nods and sets his backpack down just inside the living room. "I think that ought to do it." He looks to Misty and smiles. "With him here, we can all get some sleep."
"All except me." Alec folds his arms and scowls. "What's all this about?"
"Oh, just some precautions." Jason slips off his shoes. "I'm gonna take the chair tonight. Reese wanted some extra eyes here while they hold Carson on some suspicions."
Alec quirks an eyebrow. Interesting. "And...?"
"And... that's just about all we know."
Alec's eyes drift to Misty, as if asking if there was more that Jason wasn't telling him.
