Listing to her mother talk Victoria just watches her. Feeling her
mom's hand over her head and her words just sent a pang through her. She
was always so smart, so loving and it hurt so much now to think of the
worst. Than feeling the warm hand on her face Victoria leans her head
into the hand for a moment. It was soft, it was the hand that comforted
her since she was a child.
"Oh Mom..."
Victoria
could feel a warm tear form in her own eye. Her mom not saying
anything, said everything and she new it as well as anyone else would
know too. Her mother, flesh and blood, She would be gone soon and
Victoria new it and it hurt so bad.
Standing and going
to her mothers side Victoria slipped her hand into her mothers like she
would when she was a child. This life, there life it was not far, They
should not have to live in fear, and others choose there paths for them.
"I promise no matter what I do, no matter what happens, I wont become part of the darkness."
Death...was
all anyone ever found here, Death was what they had to look forward
too, in a sad sicking way. Her mother was so strong, so fearless, and so
wise. Victoria only hoped if ever faced with the same fate she could be
as strong. Though she new that they shouldn't have to ever.
"I love you, and I will stay with you. No one should have to face this
fate alone. I hate him, I hate this place, I hate what they will do to
you."
Her flesh, her blood, the woman who raised her
and whiped the tears away when training had been to rough. The one she
would run to when someone talked to her a way she did not like but was
forced to comply. Who would be there when she was gone? Life....this was
not a life. All Victoria could do was wish for a different one on the
inside, while the outside was as hard as stone.
Returning
the squeeze Katie looks down at there hands and just continues to look
at them for a moment. They had been through so much, so many ups and
downs could they give up now? She had to continue to hold on, for them
she just had too.
"One step at a time, tomorrow is always a new sunrise if we just wait for it."
Those
words stuck in her head from Hunter the other night. Why she wasn't
sure, maybe because it was true. The sun would always set on the bad
days and rise again to find good. They just had to believe that
everything would turn out ok.
Looking
back at her brother and than Tal Ryan gives a smile and a nod. They
were thickheaded and no matter what Tal said they were not going to move
on this one. He was going to get there help weather he liked it or not.
After all, with everything that happened it was the least Ryan could do
and she hoped it would make her feel better too.
"I think pizza sounds great and after having all that hospital food I
think pizza will hit the spot. While your out getting it I can help Tal
go through his bills."
Glancing
back at Tal her head still half cocked Ryan new he was going to protest
but he could protest his head out it still was not going to work. They
had made there desition and that was it.
"And no arguing or I will take you right back to that hospital were you will HAVE to take it easy. Got it?"
Thinking
for a second as she sat next to Justin on the grass Beth picked at the
blades taking the long ones and ting them together. It wouldn't be a bad
thing she went over for dinner with Justin right? He new she wanted to
try her date with Zach. They were friends and there was nothing wrong
with that at least for now.
"I think a good fish dinner sounds great. Not having to cook...even better."
Beth looks to Justin with a silly grin on her face before looking out at the ripples in the water than back to him.
"But...I think I should make a desert to go with it. It's only right you know."
Sitting
in the living room and hearing the commotion in the hallway she could
guess Carson was finally home. It wasn't to odd he was late, on nights
he had bible study sometimes they get into deep conversation and it took
them into the wee hours of the morning. But something seemed off about
tonight...why Misty wasn't sure maybe it was Carson talking to the
innocent chair, or a strange smell that already made its way into the
kitchen.
As
Carson ruffles her hair and than starts to speak Misty can't help but
cringes the smell of smoke instantly hitting her nose. It was the worst
thing she had ever smelled and she had been happy when Carson had quit
long ago. But now...he smelled of smoke, beer and it was easy to tell by
his glassy eyes he was slightly drunk. Misty couldn't help the look of
shock and confusions written all over her face. It had been a long time
since she had seen Carson like this.
"Mad you're late no...a little confused why your drunk and smell
horrible of smoke...yes. Last time I checked bible study was not in a
bar. did you have a last minute mission from Reese or something?"
