Bump

Giving a laugh and picking up her cup again Libby takes a nice long drink putting it down, grabbing a few more fry and than taking her back pack and standing up to put it on.

"Well I have the truck soooo..."

Libby started to walk out the door making sure Ty was close behind her before she stops right before the door and takes a step back bumping her back into his chest. Looking over her shoulder she gives Ty a smile as her eyes sparkle a little bit.

"..Since you don't have to work we can go to the park for a walk, than go to your place if you like and maybe watch some movies. I'm in no hurry to go home."

Hearing Alec's voice Misty looks up from her desk a smile that had not left her face for stays still formed on her lips. A new light filled her eyes since he had been back, people might not think going from Misty Miller, to Misty Banks was a big thing but to her it was totally something different.

Coming over to Alec Misty looks down at him shaking her head a little. A laugh almost slips out but she stops it in time.

"Alec Banks...looks like you were in a bar fight. Getting yourself into trouble while I was away I see. Just like your brother you are."

Leaning in to look at some of Alec's cuts and scraps some more to make sure they weren't getting infected.

"Looks like your cuts are healing nicely, and the sticks too. I guess your a fast healer."

Making her way to the library Hope looked through the books seeing what kind of reading materiel they had to take her mind off of things for a while.

Finally finding something to read Hope picks a overstuffed chair and sits down in the sun light. She would read for a little while and than go see Scott once more before leaving for the day.

Embarrassed

"How many were there?"

"I just told you I couldn't see!"

"You said 'they' came up behind you."

"Well it sounded like more than one, I don't know."

"They didn't address you? Call you by your name?"

"I don't know. I was in a panic." Alec sits across from Reese in the interrogation room, holding one hand to his ribs. He felt terrible, but he'd been dragged over here to talk anyway. "Look, I told you. Ryan let me off, I started to walk and the next minute, I've got a blindfold on and I'm being pulled into a van."

Reese squints. "I thought it was a truck."

"No, I said van."

Reese turns his notepad around and points to the word "truck" he'd written.

Alec shrugs. "I meant van."

"How long did it take you to get where you were going?"

"Probably half an hour."

Reese looks at his notes again. They said fifteen minutes. "So they took you somewhere and started to question you."

"Yeah. Set me down in a chair and started asking me questions about the Elite."

"What did you tell them?"

"Nothing."

"You sure?"

"Yes!" Alec cringes, as he got too excited and his body hurt. "I didn't tell them anything."

"So that's all they wanted? Was to know about the Elite?"

"How many times do I have to tell you that?"

"What about how you escaped? Why do you think they didn't just kill you off?"

Alec shrugs. "How should I know. You know how erratic Medridge is. Maybe they just wanted to scare me."

"How did you escape exactly?"

Alec sighs. "I already told you. I slipped my ropes and when I heard there was no one upstairs, I made a run for it."

"You ran... in your condition?"

"Well hobbled. Adrenaline. How should I know? I just got out of there as fast as I could and kept going."

Reese looks at his notes one more time. Duct tape, not rope. "And why did you head to Ryan's instead of here?"

"I thought you wouldn't believe me. Figured you'd think I double-crossed or something. She convinced me to come back here. End of story." Alec closes his eyes for a moment, just wanting to lie down. "Can we be done now?"

"Mm-hmm." Reese closes his notepad and nods. "Sure. Thanks, Alec. We'll talk more when you're feeling better."

"Yeah... whatever." Alec slowly rises from his chair and walks, slightly bent, back to the infirmary where he knew the bed still was. Making it inside, he simply slides onto the bed and lies on his good side, trying to relax. Something felt odd though. Opening one eye, he realizes that he isn't alone. It wasn't Rick though, it was Misty.

"Mm... sister-in-law back from her honeymoon, I see." He closes his eyes again. "Don't let me fool you... I'm fine... really."

Reese sighs and looks at his notes again. Alec was lying. He had to be. The more he was questioned, the more his story changed. But why? Why would he lie? Had he really been kidnapped? Or had he gone to the Agency of his own free will and was now back as a spy? Surely not, but... why else would Alec lie, unless he was guilty?

Dr. Hawks nods to Hope. "Thank you. This was a rough first time... I hadn't planned on things going quite like this yet but maybe it was for the best. I think I'm going to give Scott some space for a while... perhaps avoid these sessions until he's settled in more. I learned a lot today."

Standing, he offers a smile. "You're welcome any time as long as it doesn't upset Scott. Enjoy the library."

Scott takes a sip of water and sets his glass back down, curling up again on the bed. He had nothing to do... nowhere to go. But he didn't want to sleep. No, he didn't want to face the nightmares that awaited.

Looking towards the door, he wonders if Hope will stop by again before she leaves. Part of him wanted her to, and part of him just wanted her to stay away. He didn't know which emotion would win out in the end. It was all just so... hard. Did everyone know he was here? At the very least, it was embarrassing that he had been admitted here. What would people think if he ever got out of here? What would Sapphire think? or Dalton?

Ty gives a soft laugh and shrugs. "Yeah, maybe I could talk to Rick I guess. Maybe."

Drinking the rest of his pop, he shakes his head. "I don't care what we do. But I don't work tonight, so... I leave it in your hands. We can go to the arcade... go to my place... walk in the park... totally up to you."

Deal with

Squinting her eyes from across the table Libby was not about to give up on Ty just yet. She'd promised him she wouldn't, so she would keep her word. Besides that she cared about Ty to much to just forget everything.

"Well if you think there is something wrong...why not have your friend Rick check it out. Maybe there is something thats connected backwards or something and he can fix it."

Libby gives a wide smile as she takes a sip of her pop before continuing what she was saying.

"I like you to much to just give up like that. So maybe its something we could look into."

Giving a little shrug Libby gathers the books up that they had been looking at putting them in her backpack. She new Ty had enough for now and that last thing she wanted to do was continuing to push when he had enough.

"So, we still have a lot of day light to deal with...what do you want to do now?"

Entering the room Hope sat a little twords the back of the office not watching to crowd Scott, or Dr Hawking with what he was doing here. So sitting quietly she folded her legs and just sat to listen.

..With every word Scott said it was like another dagger to the heart. It hurt to think she really had hurt Scott this much. Just listing though she said nothing and though as Scott stormed away she wanted to break down crying she didn't. All she did was stand and walk a little closer to Dr. Hawks desk thinking about his question.

"Yeah, thought I haven't seen much I've been told about some episodes he has had. I think he's got a lot of anger built up inside of him along with everything else he can't explain."

Moving away from the desk Hope makes her way to the door again. Butting her hand on the knob Hope stops before turning back to the Dr.

"Thank you Dr. Hawks. I think I'm going to go check out the library you have here before I head home. So if you have any other questions just let me know."

Munchkins

Ty gives a little smirk and lifts his eyes to the sign that Libby was pointing at. "Kinda looks funny to me." He shrugs. "Doesn't look much different, Libby. I can see far away and up close just fine. If I was trying to read numbers, it wouldn't make any difference what distance it was."

Sighing, he shakes his head and looks back down at the table, thinking for a long moment. "Maybe... there's something wrong with me, ya know?" He holds up his hands quickly, knowing she would get after him. "I'm not talking stupid, okay? I may feel like it sometimes, but I know somewhere I'm not stupid. But... this just isn't seeming to help."

His fingers pick up a napkin to play with. "Maybe this is something I just can't do... maybe my brain just... I don't know... has a short in it somewhere or something." He looks to the tinted menu again and bites his lip, pondering the whole thing before glancing back to Libby. "Maybe it's time we just moved on."

Scott is quiet for the longest time before turning back around to look at Hope. He didn't understand how he'd gotten here or why this was happening. He was frustrated and felt like he was being caged up. Why would he want the person who brought him here, in on his session? Then again, maybe if she saw how miserable he was, maybe she would find a way to get him back out again. He shrugs. "Fine. If you-"

"Knock knock." Jenny's sweet voice rings out as she pokes her head in the door. She smiles at Scott, then notices Hope, smiling at her, too. "Dr. Hawks is down in his office," she informs. "Would you like to go talk to him now? I know it's early, but he said if you wanted to come now you could, since you were going to skip eating."

Scott sighs. "Sure. Whatever." He looks lamely at Hope. "Guess you got your way."

Jenny backs into the hall and waits for both Hope and Scott to lead them back downstairs and through a hall to where a comfortable office was. Dr. Hawks was behind a desk and there were several chairs around and a couch. Photographs of scenery hung on the walls and the atmosphere was warm and cheery. "Hello, Scott. Why, hello, Dr. Garrison." He nods, not questioning her presence. For the first time meeting with Scott, he didn't mind, and maybe Scott would be more comfortable with Hope here anyway...

...Dr. Hawks leans back in his chair, taking his time with Scott. So far the questions had been very light without any pressure and more boredom was happening than anything else. "Scott..." He jots down a note on his pad of paper. "Can you describe how you feel in one word?"

Scott's eyes narrow slightly as he slouches in his chair. "Are you asking me if I would, or if I'm capable?"

Though it was obvious which one, Dr. Hawks doesn't bat an eye. "Would you?"

"Methodical."

Now Dr. Hawks looks up, not sure how to take that one. "Methodical. Okay. Why that word?"

"Because I'm strategically planning how to behave around my so-called friends from now on so they don't stab me in the back again."

Dr. Hawks lets an awkward pause follow. "That statement makes me think you're pretty upset."

"Wanna trade places and find out for yourself?"

"At least I'd be surrounded by people who care."

"Or people who just wanna make a buck off of the loonies."

Dr. Hawks folds his hands on his desk. "Do you miss your house?"

"No, I miss my home."

"Your friends?"

"What friends?"

Dr. Hawks purses his lips at Scott's bitter tone. It wasn't surprising, but still sad. These surface questions weren't going to get them anywhere though - that much was obvious. Dr. Hawks sensed the anger in Scott and knew that his problems ran deep. It was only the first day, but he needed to find out where Scott stood and where the pressure points were so they could work their way up. He knew a little bit from Hope and Reese so he decided to start probing, even though it was earlier than he wanted. On some patients, he would wait to hit a nerve, but he needed to see where Scott hurt the most.

"What do you dream about at night, Scott?"

Scott can feel his nerves immediately heighten and his fingers grip the arm of his chair. He refuses to look at Hope. She'd been there when he'd had a nightmare. She had seen how severe they were. "Clouds."

"Clouds."

"Yeah, you know, the white puffy kind. Well, sometimes they're kinda thin and wispy."

Dr. Hawks glances to Hope, knowing Scott was being dishonest. He clears his throat. "Okay. Are there ever people in your dreams?"

"Munchkins."

Dr. Hawks blinks. "Do you interact with these... munchkins?"

"Sure. We sing songs and dance around a yellow brick road."

Dr. Hawks finally sighs and sets his pen down. "Okay, Scott. Why don't you want to talk to me? Why won't you tell me the truth?"

Scott's voice develops a cold chill. "Because you might need to be committed afterward."

The sudden change in tone makes Dr. Hawks more curious. "Try me."

"No."

A chord had been struck. "Come on. Give me your best shot."

"No."

"One dream. Describe it for me."

"No!" Scott stands from his chair. The haunting pictures were already starting to come to mind.

"Okay, okay." Dr. Hawks holds up his hands. "Relax. We're not going to talk about anything you don't want to."

"Every time you drag me in here, it will be about what I don't want," Scott hisses. He leans down, placing his hands on Dr. Hawks' desk. "There are things running through my mind that would make your skin crawl. I've got enough trouble at night, I don't need my days ruined, too!" His palm slams down onto the desk, making everything rattle. "So either let me go, lock me up, or send me away. I was held prisoner once... I don't intend to be again." Spinning around, he stalks out of the room, slamming the door on his way.

Dr. Hawks lets out a long sigh, pursing his lips in thought. he looks to Hope, contemplating this episode. "You know, when I read what you and Reese gave me, I would have though Scott would be more passive... more scared and timid, and that's how he was last night. But this... He's got quite a little stronghold of anger inside of him. Have you seen this kind of behavior with him recently?"

...Scott slams shut his own door and goes to flop down on his bed, hugging his pillow tightly. Tears wanted to come, but he held them back. He had to live through his nightmares while he tried to sleep, why were they forcing him to think about them during the day too? Couldn't he have a few hours of relief? Did they want to make him even more crazy?

Scrunching his eyes shut tight, his blind eye burns, but he ignores it. He had drops to ease the pain but he lets it go this time. The pain felt good... it distracted from his inner pain.

Glasses

Ryan thinks for a long moment on her brother question. Lunch would be nice, get away out of the shop than for dinner she could bring something for Alec so he didn't have to suffer Hal's cooking again.

"No plans for lunch only for dinner, so...tell me where you want to go and I'll be there."

Looking up at her brother Ryan gives a smile. She hated that Eli broke her trust and it didnt feel good, but she still loved him and it was the only family she had. How could she be mad at him for long.

Continuing to look at Scott as he stands Hope heart breaks just a little more but her smile doesn't fade. Hope didn't bother trying to explain everything to Scott again because she new he wouldn't listen, and he would only feel the same as he did now. Scott just needed time she understood why he was still upset, it was normal. Hope only hoped he wouldn't hold onto it forever.

Just staying seated on the bed Hope looks around the room for a moment before looking back to Scott.

"Would you like me to go with you when you see the Dr.?"

Leaning back in the booth Libby lets out a long sigh. She wasn't frustrated with Ty, or upset she new he was trying his best. They always made some footholds but than after a day or two of not doing anything it was almost like they started at square one again.

Cocking her head a little bit as Ty read off the menu that was a little ways away she cocked her head. Interesting how he could read that but not that stuff that was in front of him.

"Ty, I know your trying and you can't give up. I had an idea..."

Libby thinks again for a moment bringing a hand to her lips as the wheels in her head started to turn.

"...have you ever seen a Dr Ty? Like...and eye Dr? Maybe you need glasses since the words look all run together."

Turning to the sigh that hung a few feet away Libby pointed to it?

"Can you read that?"

Ripped out of my hands

Eli stops his scrounging and raises his eyebrows. "Your dresser? How on earth....?" Shaking his head, he rolls his eyes. "Last week I found my wallet in the bathroom. One of these days, you'll find my brain in the refrigerator."

Closing the gap, he accepts his keys, but lingers a moment, looking down into his sister's eyes. Yesterday had been a tough day between them. He knew he'd broken some trust and though maybe not willing to say he would have done things differently, he felt bad for the rift. "You wanna do lunch with your brother today? Or... you got plans?"

Scott looks up dimly as Hope comes into his room. He wanted to be glad to see her... he wanted to feel the warm, happy feelings he usually got when looking into her eyes. But after yesterday... those feelings just didn't want to surface. Or maybe it really was him... maybe he really didn't want to feel them, so he kept them at bay.

Having her take his hand, he didn't know whether to return the gesture or not. Last week, they would have leaned back and kissed, enjoying a tender moment together. Today, a dark cloud loomed over them.

How was he? It felt like a silly question. And lunch? He'd rather not, let alone socialize.

Lowering his legs, he slides off the bed and walks away to look out one of the windows. "My whole life just got ripped out of my hands, Hope." His voice was quiet, but there was an underlying tone that was hurt and upset. "How do you think I am? I was doing my best and you and Reese just took my livelihood into your own hands and decided you knew better than me. I've been uprooted and taken away from my only comfort zone. And you ask how I am?"

Turning around, he folds his arms. "I don't really feel like eating right now," he concludes numbly. "I'm supposed to have some stupid evaluation session later and I don't fancy the idea of throwing up all over the doctor when he works me up with questions I'd rather not think about."

Shifting back to the window, one hand falls to the little table, his fingers running over the empty space where his camera had been yesterday. It just wasn't worth it anymore. Leaning an elbow up on the window frame, he stands just looking down at the ground below.

Ty gives a groan of frustration and slams the book shut, planting his face in his hands, his elbows resting on the diner table. After lunch, another reading session had begun, and he was getting nowhere. Libby was being so patient, but he was just growing more frustrated.

"I can't do it," he mumbles. "I just can't make any sense of those stupid letters. They don't even look like they're anything that could be sounded out."

Sighing, he looks back up at Libby, resting his chin on his hands. "I can't tell if I'm reading about Jane, June or Joan anymore." He didn't want to give up... he really didn't. But he wasn't getting anywhere. Every time they got together, it was like they were right back at the beginning again. He knew the alphabet. He knew the sounds. But once he tried to read, nothing made sense.

Glancing over to the little specials ad on the table, it was held in a rust colored transparent sleeve to show off drinks and desserts. "Now that - " He points to the list of items. "I see... iced tea... and a list of pop and... lemon pie. But this..." He opens the book again and puts his finger on the page that held a few simple sentences. "It just doesn't look the same! Was it a hill or a hall? Or maybe it's a bell." He shuts the book again and sighs. "I don't think I can do this."

Something Lost

Standing outside the door Phinox kept watch. Being pulled away from his other work was ok, he didn't mind a break and the guys that were finishing up the interior of the buildings new what they were doing. For now his post was here gun at his side, so if anything happened he was ready.

Exiting the bathroom as she ran a brush through her wet hair Ryan hears the front door close knowing her brother was off to work. She hadn't talked to him much since yesterday just not having the time, but today she was in a better mood so maybe a little later she would call him, if nothing else just to say hello.

Going back into her bedroom Ryan hears the front door again. Odd, usually Eli didn't double back. Glancing down at her dresser her realizes his keys were sitting there. That was odd, if Eli had gotten home late, that were they doing in her room? Question filled her mind but no time to figure it out she new Eli was late and needed them.

Throwing on her white tank top and than her button up auto shirt over top Ryan exits her room finding her brother searching around. Heading into the kitchen she grabs some coffee yelling into the living room.

"Looks like your trying to find something you lost."

Taking a sip of the warm liquid Ryan makes her way to the living room a smile on her face as she enters watching her brother search. Her eyes seemed a little brighter today than they were the other day. Having Alec back, it and knowing he hadn't run from her she felt ok.

Holding out her brothers keys Ryan clears her throat out to get his attachen.

"If your looking for these I found them in my room on my dresser."

Clipping her name tag to her shirt to ID who she was Hope makes her way through the building following the same path she had gone before. Taking in everything a little more than she had the day before. It seemed nice, clam and peaceful here, Hope liked the atmosphere it gave off.

Getting to Scott's room Hope knocks on the door before opening it a little. Entering and closing the door behind her Hope smiles at Scott. Coming over to sit down on the bed with him Hope takes his hand into hers.

"Hey Scott. How are you today?"

It made Hope sad to see the blank look in his eyes still. She hopped things would get better as the time moved on and if Scott just gave it a chance she new he would get help here.

"They are going to serve lunch soon, would you like to go with me to grab something to eat?"

Trashed

"Right... right." Alec gives Ryan a sidelong glance as she kisses his cheek, his fingers tightening a little around hers. "I think I'm just gonna... take a moment..." His eyes drift shut. "And... rest... or something..." Or something. He was already asleep too exhausted to stay awake any longer.

Rick keeps an eye on him for a while and eventually lets Ryan know that he should be find for the night and she could leave. With Alec still asleep, Rick leaves for a while as well, making sure Phinox was out in the hall to keep an eye on things, whether it was Agency or Alec pulling a fast one.

The night goes quietly without any mishaps. Alec sleeps most of it through and does pretty much what Rick tells him. At this point he was hurting enough that he really didn't care as long as he got more pain killers. By the time morning comes around, he's sitting up a little in bed and managing to eat a little for breakfast, but he was even more sore than the day before so Reese puts off the questioning until that afternoon.

Eli downs his cup of coffee on the way through the kitchen, late for work. He'd gotten home late last night, in time to just go to bed, so he hadn't yet spoken to his sister since she'd been upset with him about Alec. He'd decided it was better to just let the whole thing lie for now until it had cooled off a little bit.

Grabbing his jacket, he's out the door, only to realize he didn't have his keys. Back in the apartment, he scrounges around the kitchen, his bedroom, then to the living room, having no idea where he'd set his motorcycle keys.

Scott sits on his bed, his knees pulled up to his chest and his arms wrapped around his legs as he stares into nothingness. He didn't have his contacts with him, but he hadn't bothered using his glasses either. He'd just as soon not see anything clearly. Dr. Hawks was supposed to see him sometime today, but for now, he'd only left his room to go to the bathroom and to wander down one flight of stairs once. He'd ended up drinking a little juice and nibbling on some bread last night, but he'd refused breakfast this morning. No... he would just sit.... and wait. Wait for time to pass. Would Hope come? He didn't know. He didn't even know what he'd say to her if she did.

Jenny makes her rounds upstairs with a garbage sack, emptying waste baskets. It was usually the janitor's job, but during slow times, she gladly picked up the slack and helped out with some housekeeping as well as being an aid.

Checking the trash in the hall at the end of the second floor, she dumps the waste basket, but something seemed heavier than it should. Thinking she should check it, she rummages through the bag to find what had been so heavy. In the end, she pulled out two objects. One was a very expensive camera, and the other was a box of film. Furrowing her brow, she just looks at them, wondering why on earth they were here. No one on staff owned a camera like this that she knew of, or at least wouldn't have it here at work. And none of the... wait... She had seen this before. Yes, it had been on Scott's table last night. Then she remembers reading in his file that one of his pastimes was photography. Jenny knows without asking that he had thrown this away intentionally. Something about being here had made him feel that his hobby was useless. Whether it was because he thought there was no one to take pictures for, he was giving up on things he enjoyed because he wanted to be miserable, or because he thought now that he was here, that the hobby in itself had no point. Maybe it was a combination.

Jenny sighs, but doesn't return the camera to the trash. No, she would take it to the lost and found for now where they would keep it safe. If Scott stayed here long enough to recover, he might later regret having thrown it away. If he was ever ready again, his camera would be waiting.

In case

Ryan stays by Alec's side while Rick cleans him up, not getting in the way but not leaving again ether. She just wanted to make sure he was going to be ok. Not knowing Rick to well she assumed he new what he was doing after all She'd meet Misty once or twice when they came to see Axel before so and she worked for Rick so it couldn't be that bad.

Looking up and watching Rick and Reese for a second Ryan couldn't hear them but she could read there lips. They wanted someone to stay she wasn't sure the name though. Than again a lot of the names here she didn't know.

"They are putting someone out side to stand watch not because they don't trust you, but I bet it's because they think someone might come back looking for you since you got away. Last thing we want is for the Agency to get you again right?"

Pulling a chair up Ryan sits down next to Alec, her hand seeming to find his. Giving a grin she leans into him a little and give a soft kiss to his cheek.

Window

Reese nods again. He hated telling all this to Sapphire, even though it had to be done. He knew he needed to tell Dalton about it too. "I think Hope is going to take care of Domino, but you can ask her about that. If you-"

His words are brought to a sudden halt as he sees Ryan and Alec and hears her shouting for him. "Good land... Sapphire, I'll keep you updated about Scott." Getting up quickly, he jogs towards Ryan and Alec, having no idea what really was going on. The Agency? Great.

Coming alongside, he takes some of Alec's weight. "It was the Agency?"

Alec nods, wincing as they move down the hall. "Yeah..."

"We thought you split on us."

"Do you really think I'd be back here if that were the case?" Alec hisses, cringing as they stop at the infirmary.

Reese shakes his head. "No. I'd have a harder time believing that one. Rick!"

Rick was right nearby and opens the door for them, his eyes widening. "Alec. Ryan? What on earth happened?"

"Agency," Reese confirms.

Rick knew that meant it was serious. The Agency was far from nice when it came to beatings. It had been proven one too many times. "Get him on the bed over there. Take off his jacket and shirt." He moves quickly to gather what he needs.

Alec bites his tongue from cursing as he's laid on the bed. Every bone in his body hurt. With Reese's and Ryan's help, he gets his jacket and shirt off, exposing the black and blue marks all along one side of his rib cage.

Rick is solemn as he comes back, taking it all in at a glance. "Pretty. Who cleaned up your face?"

Alec gestures to Ryan. "She did."

"Good." Rick nods to Ryan. "You did a good job. At least we can hold on that for a while. Looks like you might need some stitches though, Alec."

"Yay."

Rick smirks and sets about examining Alec. It takes longer than expected... Rick wanted to be sure that there were no rib fragments to cause any damage, so x-rays were taken. Eventually though, Alec is in bed again, this time to stay for a while. His ribs were taped and he had stitches in two places on his face. An ice pack had started to take the swelling from his eye, and pain killers had made it livable.

A bit groggy from it all, he looks over to Ryan. "Show's over." He waves at her.

Reese was still present. "Maybe for now. But you've got a lot of explaining to do."

"Now?"

"No. Tomorrow morning. Get some rest first." He wanders over to Rick, speaking more quietly. "I'm going to have Phinox spend the night on guard, just in case anything happens."

Alec catches Ryan's eye and shakes his head slightly. See? They didn't trust him, just like he'd said.

"Scott?" Jenny knocks on his door for the second time. Still receiving no response, she lets herself in slowly, seeing Scott was still curled up on the bed. Her warm smile returns and she approaches carefully. "Scott, are you awake?"

Scott opens his eyes and gives a little nod.

"We've got some supper downstairs. Some broccoli soup and homemade bread... do you feel like eating?"

Scott shakes his head, making no move to get up. His stomach hurt badly from not eating in over a day now. But he wanted nothing.

Jenny lets out a small sigh. "You know if you don't eat, the doctor will have to come in and take care of you. He'll move you to another building and put you on an IV and it's not any fun. You don't want that, do you?"

Scott shakes his head again.

"Well alright then... how about I bring you some bread and some fruit juice and you can eat it whenever you like?"

Scott nods numbly.

Jenny smiles. "Okay. I'll be back in a few minutes. Do you want grape juice or apple juice?" Receiving no response, her smile doesn't fade. "I'll bring you both and you can have what you want."

Left alone again, Scott finally moves. He was stiff all over and felt sick. Standing up, he wobbles a little before wandering over to one of his windows. It was growing dark. Lights dotted the grounds below and a few people were milling around outside. He slowly reaches out and places his palm on the cool class. And in his mind, he was in Hope's old office, standing at the tall window that he'd looked out of as he'd talked to her. It was warm and bright and peaceful. Then just as quickly, reality was back, and he was back in this little room again.

3/15/10

Please tell me...

Looking back up at Reese again Sapphire understood what he was say and she new Scott probably didn't want anyone right now. So even if she did want to run up there to see him she would wait.

"Yeah I understand whats your saying. Thank you for letting me know Reese. Is someone taking care of Domino while Scott is gone?"

Sapphire new she was going to have to tell her parents later, and she wasn't sure how they would take it. She could only hope it well, and find the right words to say to lesson the blow.

Hearing Alec's words sends a whole new chill down her spine. Alec really...missed her? It felt odd hearing him say that but it felt oh so good as well. It gave Ryan a whole new reason to want to help him all she could.

"I guess getting you to Rick would be smart huh before I killed you from sitting on you."

Moving a little Ryan opens Alec's side of the car and and gets out, before leaning down again and slinging Alec's arm over her shoulder and helping him out. Slowly making there way inside she new the down perfectly having been there so many times before.

Once inside the main floor she makes her way to the infirmary. Seeing Reese out of the counter of her eyes she yells for him.

"Reese...I need you help. Alec needs to see Rick. He's got some broken ribs and I don't know what else. The Agency kidnapped him that night when he was walking back here. Please tell me Rick is in."

Continuing to make her way with Alec twords the infirmary didn't let go. He wasn't heavy and she was use to haling car parts around all day to even mind anyways.

Later

Reese nods to Sapphire, remaining gentle. "People will be able to see him just about whenever they want. It's a good place up there... real friendly," he assures, nodding again. "We... we hope he'll be okay. He didn't want to go but... Hope and I got him there. It's just going to take some time... time and patience and prayer."

He stops for a moment, knowing there was more he better say. "If... you're thinking about visiting him, you might want to way a little while. I don't think... he wants to see anyone right now and it might just make things harder if you go before he's ready to see you."

As Ryan comes in closer and begins to plant her kisses on him, Alec draws in a sharp breath, wanting to return the affection, but held back by his pain. Feeling her on his neck, his one arm tightens around her, his fingers digging into her back as he gives a low growl.

Once her lips return to his and she draws back again, his hand moves from her back to her face, his fingers outlining every curve from her forehead and nose, down to her lips, touching them lightly. Her combing of his hair makes his eyes go closed and he tilts hes head into it. "Maybe it's good I'm in pain," he teases. "I don't wanna get another bruise."

Pulling her head closer, he brushes his lips against hers lightly, but with passion, ignoring his wound for just a moment. "I missed you too," he admits in a whisper.

Even though Ryan was being careful, the close proximity and slight pressure were making it slightly hard to breathe, and he cringes just a little, his eyes apologizing. "We'll have to pick this up later." A crooked grin forms. "I'm afraid a trip in to see Rick is going to interrupt us here."

How much

Pulling into the parking lot Ryan gives Alec a sidelong glance at the mention of the spark in her eyes when she was mad and the grin on her face grew even more.

About to reply and get out of the car Ryan stops being pulled over to Alec. Looking down at him his questions sends her grin to widen and she eyes start to dance, and the fire is ignited. Leaning in a little more Ryan's lips brush Alec softly minding his cut lip. Pulling away a little her eyes still dance.

"You have no idea how much I missed you..."

Shifting around in the car a little and still taking great care Ryan moves and puts her one leg over top of Alec so she was facing him sitting in his lap. Leaning in close Ryan's eyes stair into Alec before giving his nose a kiss, and than his cheek, the side of his face and than moving to his ear where she gave it a tiny nibble.

"...I missed you a lot..."

Moving from his eat down to his neck Ryan gave it continues light kiss, around his neck, and under his chin till she goes to the other side of his neck giving it a gently nibble for a few seconds. Finally finding his lips again she grins giving them a light kiss because of his lip.

"...and I can't even give you the kind of kiss I want because of your lip. I don't want to hurt you."

Ryan's hands move on on the back of the car seat to hold herself off of Alec a little not putting to much pressure on his injures and her other hand finding his hair running her fingers though it.

Finishing what she was doing quick Sapphire finally looks up at Reese giving him a smile. Seeing the look in his eyes though as he comes in and sits down in a chair Sapphire new something was wrong. Before he even said he she could feel it was something to do with Scott. They were twins, it was a simple bond that seemed to warn the other.

"Reese...whats wrong?"

Listing and hearing what had happened with Scott Sapphire's heart sank a little. Her brother had been worse than she though. It hurt knowing he was not ok, but at the same time she was happy someone had taken controlled to make him better. If she had lost her brother again Sapphire wouldn't know what to do.

"Are people able to go see him?"

There was worry in Sapphire's eyes not ever hearing of this place before and wondering how her brother had reacted. They had, had a falling out recently but that didn't mean she loved him any less.

"Is...he going to be ok?"

How much

Reese nods knowingly and doesn't say anymore. They both needed time to think about this whole thing. Hope more than he. Getting inside TJY, Reese knew he had one more job to do today. He wasn't looking forward to it either, and he almost hoped Sapphire was gone for the day. No such luck though. As he heads for his office, he sees that she's still in her cubicle. It was only right that he told her what was going on.

Taking a deep breath, he musters up whatever courage he had left and approaches her desk. "Hey, Sapphire?"

He waits to gain her full attention before speaking quietly to her. He didn't want to drag her into his office and make a huge deal out of it, but he didn't want to just blurt it out for everyone to hear either. "Um... there's something you should know."

He retrieves a chair from an empty cubicle and comes closer, sitting down to be at eye level with her. "There's no easy way to say this, so... I'm just gonna say it." He pauses, collecting his thoughts. "Hope and I... we just got back from Brookshire Care Facility about two hours from here. We... admitted Scott there today."

Reese purses his lips, still trying to figure out the best way to explain. "He hasn't been... well, he hasn't been taking care of himself the last few weeks. He's gotten pretty depressed and... Hope and I were afraid he would get down too far to get back up again if he were left without help. So... he's in a safe place where hopefully they can help him. I just... I wanted you to know."

Alec lifts an eyebrow a little, wondering at Ryan's statement. "Wildcat..." He gives her a sidelong glance. "You?" A small smile emerges. He could only imagine. Had it been over Jason coming after him? Probably. He grins a little more as they pull into the TJY parking lot.

Shifting a little to the side, he shakes his head at Ryan. "The though of you taking on Jason... Mmm... I wish I coulda seen that." His tone grows sly. "I like that spark in your eye when you're mad."

Reaching over with his hand, he takes her jacket collar and pulls her over to him, unable to lean in himself. "How much did you really miss me the last couple days?"

Wild cat

Finishing her beer off Ryan lets out a small sigh. She felt bad and could only hope the people at TJY would understand and at least listen to him. He'd come this far to have it all go away.

"Hey, at least here you still have someone who will come and see you eh? Ya never know too the might understand more than you think. And yes I will drive slow."

Coming back over to Alec Ryan helps him up. Taking it slowly she new Alec was in pain and didn't want to jerk him around to much and causing more damage.

Finally getting him into the car and starting out Ryan drives slow. It was a little on the late side so she had no idea if anyone would be at TJY but she could only hope.

Glancing at Alec Ryan lips form a grin as she thinks about the event that had happened with Jason and she still found some humor in it.

"If you happen to see Jason, don't stair at him to much ok? I think he got in a fight with a wildcat."

Giving a small smile as Reese have her a hug Hope returned it. The comfort was nice though she didn't want to let it linger to much and start second guessing herself.

"Thanks Reese, I'll be ok. I'll keep the offer in mind though in case I need it."

Backing away a little Hope follows Reese inside before going to her makeshift office to gather a few things she needed. After that she'd had back to Scott's and grab Domino to bring her back to her house for a while.

Slowly

Once Scott is left alone, the tears start again, knowing that no one was near to hear him. He couldn't believe this was happening. He knew he hadn't been feeling well, but he hadn't thought anyone would do something like this to him. They said they cared... they said they loved him... but he felt like he was being abandoned. He'd been uprooted and forced into strange surroundings where he knew no one and was without the safety of his own home. He didn't know if he felt more rejected or angry. Both were prevalent. Burying his head into his pillow, he closes his eyes tight, hoping that somehow this was just some horrible nightmare and he would wake up back in his own room at home again.

Reese is waiting for Hope, and once they sit down with Dr. Hawks, it takes a while to get all the paperwork done and all the information shared. In the end, they are assured that Scott will be well taken care of and that both of them would be notified immediately if anything happened.

The ride back to TJY was long and silent. All the while, Reese was trying to convince himself that what he'd done was right... that he and Hope had been right. God forgive him if he'd been wrong.

He knew Hope needed her own time, so he respects silence, just letting the radio fill in the gaps.

Two hours passes by slowly, but eventually they were at TJY once more. It was early evening by now and a few people were already gone for the day but most were still there. Reese parks and gets out, waiting to walk inside with Hope. Getting to the door though, he pauses and turns to her. She was young enough to be his daughter and he cared about her like he did all of his agents. And he knew that right now, she was hurting even worse than he did.

Though very much out of character, Reese reaches out and gives her a gentle hug. "If you need anybody to talk to... my office is always open, okay?"

"I don't know." Alec lifts the beer to his lips even though it hurt a little, and took a nice long sip. He felt like he could use something even stronger, but it was probably best he didn't or else he'd just wind up in more trouble at this point.

Sighing, he looks down a few minutes before glancing back up to Ryan. "I'm screwed no matter what, aren't I?"

He flinches as he twists in his chair a little too quickly. "I guess I might as well rot at TJY than a dingy Agency basement." He lifts his beer can in a toast. "Here's to my life gone down the tubes."

Taking another swallow, he nods. "Alright. You win. But please... drive slowly for once."

So where

Following Jenny around Hope's own smile held on her face though on the inside she was hurting too. To see Scott like this, knowing he didn't want to come here it was hard, harder than anyone could imagine.

Finally getting to Scott's room Hope enters with him setting his bags down on the small table. Taking a glance around the room it was very nice, Hope new if Scott could come out of his shell just a little he might enjoy being here for a little while.

Starting to unpack his bags Hope pulls out Scott camera and a small box that contained his film and some pictures that had already been taken. Going to unpack his clothing Hope receives his cold words and they stung. She didnt want to leave Scott yet, she wanted to stay with him longer but after what they had put him through already the least she could do was respect his wishes now.

Going over to Scott Hope bends down over him and kiss him a kiss in the for head and small hug.

"Try and get some rest and I will see you tomorrow. I love you Scott."

Exiting the room Hope closes the door behind her. Turning and leaning against the wall for a second Hope collects herself before heading down the hall once more finding her way back to Reese and Dr. Hawkins.

Letting out a sigh and sitting down across from Alec Ryan thinks for a long moment. Alec didn't want to go back to TJY she wasn't going to force him, but that didn't mean she wouldn't try to continue getting him to go back on his own as a suggestion.

"Than you need to go to the hospital to get you ribs looked at Alec and they are going to know you there to but there they would be more apt to just throw you in jail outright, so I think it would be smarter to go to TJY, but...I won't force you."

Getting up again and going to the fridg Ryan pulls out two beers popping the top on both. Going back to the table she hands one to Alec. He looked like he needed something a little strong for the pain. Sitting down again in the chair flipping it around so her arms leaned on the back Ryan takes a sip of her own.

"So, if your not going to go back to TJY, and the Agency is after you...were are you going to go?"

Cozy room

Dr. Hawks listens to Hope with respect and nods to her. "I'll have one of the nurses show you to his room. It will be in a separate building than this to start out, based on the evaluation we received from both you and Mr. Reese."

Turning, he waves one of the nurses over. She was a little heavyset with black skin and long hair done up in attractive cornrows that were pulled back into a ponytail. She smiles brightly at Hope. "Hi, I'm Jenny." She cocks her head and looks to Scott. "Hello, Scott. It's nice to meet you." Even though she didn't receive a response, she holds her smile, very used to this kind of thing. Looking to Hope again, she gestures down the hall. "Please, come with me. It's just a short walk."

Scott was still tempted to turn and run, no matter how friendly these people pretended to be. His legs barely wanted to walk though, let alone run, so it wasn't even an option. No... he'd lost this battle. He was defeated, and his body language proved it.

Jenny leads the way down the hallway, past several rooms, then through a bright glass tunnel that led to the next building. This one was warmer with carpet instead of tiles and comfy furniture instead of waiting room chairs. Scott can't help but look up just a little bit to look at everything. There was a large foyer, but it felt more like a living room. There were open doorways that led to other rooms yet to be seen.

"In through there is the kitchen," Jenny explains, "and down there is a lounge and right around the corner is a library." She stops for a moment, looking at Scott again. "And you can go wherever you want, okay?"

Scott looks back at her dimly. "I want to go home."

Jenny's eyes have an extra kind look to them. She'd had a lot of practice with this, but her compassion never diminished. "I know. And you will. But for now, you have the run of the grounds, okay?"

Scott looks back at the floor. He really didn't care. He didn't want to go anywhere else around here anyway.

Jenny gives Hope an encouraging nod. "Follow me." Still leading the way, she takes them up a flight of stairs to the second floor, then another flight to the third. There was an elevator a little ways away, but most people in this area used the stairs.

There weren't too many rooms on the third floor. It was quieter here. Some doors were open and a few faces looked up as they passed. Scott felt so uncomfortable that his dizziness worsened. Trudging behind Jenny, they reach the last room. Opening the door, Jenny motions inside. "Here we are," she welcomes cheerily.

The room was bright with two windows. A few small paintings were on the wall, and the bed was made up with a comfortable-looking quilt. A small nightstand held a little lamp and there was a dresser with four drawers and a mirror hanging above it. A small closet was in the corner and an empty shelf ran along one wall for whatever the occupant wanted.

Jenny glances to Hope and Scott again, then back to Hope. "I'll leave you two to get settled. Scott, I'll be back later to tell you everything you need to know, and I can give you the grand tour when you feel up to it, okay?" Scott doesn't respond, but she smiles anyway and nods her farewell, leaving the room.

Scott wanders to the bed and sits down for a moment, then leans over onto his side, bringing his feet up to curl into a ball. "You can go now," he mumbles.

Alec winces again as Ryan continues to clean and bandage his face. "It's the way it works," he responds. It sounded as though he were talking with rocks in his mouth - it felt like it, too. "They don't trust anybody. If I've been with the Agency, Reese will think I ratted out the Elite. Agency die-hards will get themselves beat up just for show. Not to mention, even if Reese thinks I'm legit, he'll say I led them straight back here and they'll be waiting again for a good shot at his agents."

Leaning back a little, his arm is still wrapped around himself. "I don't even have any information," he mutters. "I was blindfolded from the getgo. All I know is I found my way from the east side of town."

He closes his eyes, trying to ignore the pain he was in. "I can't go back... they won't believe me."

Best bet

Heading inside with Scott and Reese Hope stays close with her hand on Scott's back. Even if he hated her, wanted nothing to do with her Hope wanted him to know she was there. She would be visiting him often in the hosp, almost every day taking the two hour drive. Just because he was here in this didn't mean she wasn't his Dr anymore or his friend.

Extending her other hand to Dr. Hawking Hope smiles and gives a nod. She was leery herself yet of this place only because she didn't know the people but from her research she could tell no one here would harm Scott.

"Can you show Scott and I to his room? I'd like to get him settled and he's probably tired from the trip. I know you will have questions and what not but I think its best he rested first."

Still offering her smile Hope new what the protocol was and everything that had to be done inside the hospital having worked long side a place like this before. But Scott did need to rest a little before he fell down with the sedative still wearing off.

"Reese can brief you a little while I get Scott settled and than if you need to know anything more, or the copy's of his paper work I have them with me and would be more than happy to talk with you. Though I will be here quite often myself any questions you have I'd be more than happy to answer."

Continuing to clean Alec up Ryan listens to him. A small grin forming on her lips at his mention to making out with him.

"And you were worried I'd sock you if you tried anything."

Going back to the first aid kit and getting some ointment and bandages Ryan places them over his cuts still listing to him. So thats why he hadn't made it back to TJY the Agency got him. He was lucky to have gotten away before they killed him. A seeming of re leaf washed over Ryan Alec really hadnt left her.

"Well first off, there Dr at TJY can do a lot better with fixing you up than I can. Plus if you double crossed them why would you go back? If you don't go our only say yes thats what I did. Taking one glance at you Alec I don't think they are going to think that. I think your best bet, is going because if you don't than when they catch you there will be no explaing... I will come with you."

Brookshire

Though still upset, scared and angry, Scott keeps still for the duration of the ride. He didn't even know where they were going, but it felt like he was being led away from his life. Defeat loomed over him like a cloud, dark and menacing.

Remaining the way he was, he keeps his head in Hope's lap and tries to fight against his raging emotions. Under the hurt and anger, there was a feeling of failure. He had failed to recuperate. He had failed Hope. He had failed to get back on his feet. He'd thought he felt weak before... now he felt even weaker.

Finally the long drive brings them to Brookshire Care Facility. It was a large complex with large well-taken grounds surrounding the buildings. Though they had a critical care center for those who were a danger to themselves or others, less threatening structures were also available. Trees were scattered throughout the campus. Compared to Northside or Crescentview, this could be considered homey.

Reese drives to the main building and parks, sitting in silence for a long moment. "We're here," he offers gently.

Scott is awake and staring into nothingness. He hears Reese and grits his teeth. "I guess if I fight, you'll just give me another sedative, won't you?"

Reese sighs, feeling rotten. He gets out and goes around, opening the back door. "Come on," he prompts. "We'll walk you inside and help you get settled."

Scott would like to make this as difficult as possible, and wanted to fight. He wanted to scream and yell and tell them to take him back home. He wanted to make a run for it. Or tell the workers here that he'd been kidnapped. Anything to get away. But he knew that none of it would work. He knew fighting was futile. There was nothing he could do. They had won.

Finally he sits up and eases out of the car, feeling a little dizzy at first. Reese leads him around to the front of the car and waits for Hope to come too, helping carry the two small bags that she'd gathered from the house.

Entering the building, Scott's eyes remained glued to the floor, his shoulders slouched and his hands in his pockets. The middle-aged, male doctor behind the counter looks up and smiles warmly at the three. He comes around to greet them, offering handshakes, but doesn't bat an eye when Scott doesn't interact. "Hi, my name is Doctor Hawks." He was tall and broad, his hair mostly gray. "You must be Mike Reese and Dr. Hope Garrison. And... this must be Scott."

Alec practically falls into Ryan as she comes to him, numbly letting her help him inside. Easing down at the kitchen table, he winces, his arm still tucked around his ribs.

Feeling the sting of the cloth on his face, he flinches, but doesn't fight off the help. His gaze finds Ryan, though she looked a little blurry today. "Agency," he manages. "I shoulda made out with you in the car instead."

A smile would have come had it not hurt too much. Drawing in his breath, he stops as pain shoots through his ribcage. "I couldn't... go back to TJY." His words are a bit mumbled. "They'll... they'll think I backstabbed them."

Oh my goodness

Finally Hope's own walls crack she couldn't do it any longer and her own tears seem to fall from her eyes as her fingers just continued to run through his hair.

"Your going to be safe Scott, and your going to get to feeling better. You are going to be ok I promise."

Leaning her head back against the seat Hope's tears still streamed down her face. She only hopped they were doing the right thing. In her heart she new it was, but second guessing yourself on someone you have come so close to was normal. She just wanted to see Scott himself again.

Listing to the door shut as Eli leaves Ryan lets out a long sigh before finally shutting the tv off. Maybe she would work on her car a little, it was a nice day out after all. Letting out a long sigh she just leans her head back against the couch.

Suddenly sitting up at a knock on the door Ryan just looks for a moment waiting to see if it was Eli coming back in. Seeing nothing though Ryan stands heading to the door. Opening it at first she didn't see Alec but movment on the right catchs her sighs. Seeing Alec there in a blood heap Ryan's heart starts to race as she exits the door.

"Alec, Oh my goodness...Alec...come on lets get you inside and cleaned up."

Slinging his one arm over her shoulder Ryan helps him inside shutting and locking the door behind her. Ushering him to the kicthen she has him sit down at the table while she grabs a bowl of water, a washcloth and the first air kit.

"Alec, what happened to you?"

Gently Ryan starts to clean the cuts and bruises around his face trying to get the blood cleaned up, and the dirt to keep the infection away.

In need

Scott tries to process everything, feeling a bit sick to his stomach. The soft music... Hope's fingers combing his hair... he wanted to just fall asleep, but something wasn't right... something had happened... what was it?

Slowly, the earlier events come back to him, and the feeling of dread descends on him once again. Still unable to move much, he simply rolls over a little so Hope couldn't see his face. "You took me anyway," he murmurs. Tears well in his eyes from so many pent up emotions. "You knew I didn't want to... you knew I was scared... and you took me anyway."

The tears escape from his eyes, rolling down sideways on his face onto Hope's lap and he sniffs, wanting to sit up and curl up by himself, but his muscles still were too weak from the sedative.

Reese glances in the mirror, pain on his face. He hated this. Oh, how he hated it. At least Scott was calm, but Reese would almost rather have a fight than see the suffering like this.

Scott manages to move enough to wipe his eyes, but remains lying down. He knew it was useless to fight right now. The most he could do would be jump from a moving vehicle and that would be stupid. The had taken him... ripped him from his home against his will. He hadn't been strong enough to fight them off. He'd been too weak. And now he was a prisoner again.

A few more tears fall.

Eli's eyebrows rise as Ryan talks. He stares at her, absorbing her words and blinking once or twice. He shouldn't be surprised she'd figured it out. It had been a few days with lots of time to think, and she was smart. He hadn't meant to cause a rift between them. He'd only wanted to do what he thought was right the other night and hadn't meant for Alec to run. If he'd known Alec would run, he probably wouldn't have called anybody. But it was too late now. His sister was obviously upset with him, and there wasn't much he could do about it now.

"Well..." He straighten up, pursing his lips. He willed himself not to become upset back at her - at least not on the outside. "I guess I'll get going to work then." He really had nothing else to say. "I'll... see you later."

Giving a little nod, he aims for the door. "Call me if you change your mind about needing something from the store, Speedy," he mentions over his shoulder. Grabbing his jacket, he slips out the door.

Alec squints at the door, hoping he'd found the right one in his mental state. He could barely see through one eye that was purple and swollen. His lower lip had been split and more bruises accented his face. His right arm was wrapped around himself to hold his ribs. To say he felt like he'd been run over by a truck would be accurate. He hears a motorcycle engine rev, and doesn't realize that he'd missed Eli by seconds. It was just as well though.

Swallowing hard, he manages to knock, though both his hands were so sore. Closing his eyes, he just leans against the wall and waits, hoping he didn't collapse before someone came. He'd seen Ryan's car, so all he could do was hope she was actually home.

I know

As Scott starts to wake Hope looks down giving a warm smile. She didn't want him to be scared or upset, and maybe her smile would comfort him. The last thing she wanted to do while driving was upset.

"You're save Scott, we are in Reese car. Everything is going to be ok, I promise."

Looking up for a second to catch Reese eyes in the mirror to let him know Scott was awake Hope looks down again. Running her fingers through Scott's hair softly to keep him calm.

Looking at her brother Ryan's eyes seem to be fulled with emotion as she sat and though about everything that had been going on. Looking back to the tv Ryan just keep flipping channels. Her stomach felt sick, and she hated thinking Alec had really left, and left her behind. He had his reasons, but...Ryan would of went with him. But worse than that someone else lied heavy in her mind. She been betrayed by someone who new how much she cared and saw how happy she was. That hurt more than anything in the world.

"You could help me find where Alec went...but than again your the one who called him in so I guess you wouldn't help me with that."

Finally Ryan looks to her brother again, her look not of total anger, but one mixed with hurt, and the feeling of betrayal.

"I know it was you Eli. No one else at that track new who Alec was, let alone who to call. And Jason mentioned your name today before I tackled him. Thats what really gave you away."

Ryan's words wanted to waver, and her eyes wanted to flood but she willed them not to. She stayed strong as she looked back to her brother.

"I told him he could trust you, because I though you'd understand. He would of went back after the race on his own free will, but being treated like an animal he's not thats what made him go away. He's done a bunch of stuff to help the Elite and yet they still treated him like they did. It's not right Eli."

Coming to

Reese nods to Hope and reaches for the radio. He goes through the stations until he finds one he knew Scott would enjoy. It was a classical station. Reese himself didn't care for classical music, but he knew it was Scott's favorite, and right now he'd be willing to do just about anything to make Scott more comfortable.

The ride is a long one. A two -hour stretch never seemed to take so long. But long before the time was up, Scott begins to stir.

Shifting his weight a little bit, Scott opens his eyes groggily. Everything was a bit blurry. He had a really nice feeling though... it felt like someone was running their fingers through his hair. It was soothing... relaxing... wait, who was doing it?

Trying to move and finding it difficult to move any of his muscles, his heart rate picks up. Where was he? Why were they moving? Why couldn't he get his body to move? He realizes his head is in someone's lap and he sensed who it was now.

"Hope?" His voice is hoarse and weak as he tried to pull out of the first sedative. "Where am I? What's going on?"

"Hey." Eli leans over the back of the couch to look down at Ryan. "Thought you'd be pampering your car on your day off." He looks at her inquisitively. She seemed extra quiet today.

"I gotta go into work for a few hours but that's it. Gotta run to the store later - need anything?"

In the wind

It hurt as Hope stood at the outside of the car contemplating for a long moment. Later she new the tears would come, but for now they were head at bay. Even though the sick feeling was in her stomach.

"I'll sit in the back with him. I have another sedative if we need it."

Slipping into the backseat Hope puts Scott's head in her lap as she gently hand her hand through his hair. This was the least she could do was keep him comfortable while they drive.

Leaning her head back as they started out Hope watched the scenes fly by. Every thing was in a blurr to her as her mind was wondering. To filled with her own thoughts that nothing seemed to take shape or form.

Finding Reese eyes in the rear view mirror she tried to give a smile but it didn't come out to good.

"Can you put a little soft music on? When Scott wakes it might help him stay calm."

Sitting in the couch with a bowl of ice cream in hand Ryan flipped through the tv channels. Nothing was one, there was nothing to do. The ice cream seeming to bring her a little comfort. It had been a few days since Alec had been gone, no word, no call nothing. Was he really gone? Leaving the memories of Ryan in the wind?

Front or back

Scott continues to struggle, not caring what either one said now and not listening. All he wanted was to be freed and left alone.

Seeing Hope draw near, then feeling the prick of the needle, his eyes widen slightly and he just looks at her, emotions flooding his eyes as if saying, 'I can't believe you just did that.'

Reese still holds him firmly, his heart pounding. For now, his adrenaline was taking over his emotions and he was fine with that. Later on, this whole thing was going to hurt. He nods to Hope. "Yeah. Go ahead and get some of his things. I'll keep him still here and we'll get everything out to the car."

Within moments, Scott's world starts to blur. His muscles relax against his will and his knees buckle. His last words come out lethargic and slurred. "I hate you."

Feeling dead weight in his arms, Reese is brought to one knee, panting. "I know you do," he answers lamely. "I would to." Sighing deeply, he takes a few seconds to breathe before hoisting Scott up in his arms and aiming for the door.

Within no time, Scott's in the backseat of the car, his things in the trunk. Reese looks to Hope again, trying to not let his emotions get in the way. "He's not going to be out for the whole two hour drive. Do you want to be up front or in back with him when he comes to?"

Gonna be ok

Shaking her head Hope's heart hurt so much. She didn't want it to end like this, she didn't want anyone to get hurt and the last thing she wanted was to put Scott into a panic.

Seeing Domino Hope reaches down to grab her and holding the little dog close understanding why she was upset.

"Shhh...its ok Domino. He's gonna be ok."

Moving quickly Hope brings the small dog to the bathroom and sets her down inside before closing the door. She didn't want to see Scott's dog hurt on top of everything else. And she would be back later to come get Domino and take her, to her house.

Coming back into the living room where Scott was still fighting Reese Hope could feel the tears in he eyes that wanted to come as she held them at bay.

"Scott, please calm down before you hurt yourself please."

Seeing her words did not good Hope took the syringe from her pocket. Quickly removing the cap and making sure there was no air bubbles. Going over to Reese and Scott she looks in the eyes for a moment.

"You know I would never do anything to hurt you Scott. This is to calm you down so you don't hurt yourself ok."

Taking the needle she puts it into his upper arm administering the sedative. She hated having to do this but she new it had to be done.

"Reese he should be feeling the effects in a few moments, do you want to take him to the car and I will grab a few of his thing quick?"

Panic

Hope's words stung even though they weren't intended to. If he loved her? "Don't play that card," he warns. "Whether I love you or not has nothing to do with this. I've got a problem you can't fix, so you think you can just send me off like some malfunctioned equipment to get repaired."

His eyes narrow. "Don't you dare force me. I told you I wasn't going and I meant it. This is my house and I will do what I darn well please, whether it's missing breakfast or listening to music you two don't like. This is my life. And I'm staying." Too distracted by talking with Hope, he hadn't realized that Reese had slipped around to the other doorway. He starts to back up again, feeling cornered.

Reese steps inside and lays a hand on Scott's shoulder to stop him. Scott whirls around in surprise, almost falling backward.

"Easy." Reese doesn't give him an inch to get around him. "Just let us help, Scott. That's all we're trying to do."

"Help?" Scott gropes for the counter as he backs away from Reese. "You call this help? Forcing me from my own home?" Seeing a way into the hall, he jumps at it, to skirt around Reese and get to his room where he could lock the door. Unfortunately, Reese was faster.

Reese catches Scott and pulls him into a bear hug, immobilizing his arms. Scott howls and throws his head back, whacking Reese squarely in the mouth. Though in pain now, Reese doesn't let go. "Scott, calm down," he barks. "You're going ot hurt yourself."

"Let me go!" Panic set in as Scott was held from behind. His heart began to race and he fought for all he was worth, sending Reese into the counter, knocking things over. Still held, he kicks at Reese's shins and tries to break free, but Reese was simply more powerful.

Hearing her master in trouble, Domino comes skirting around the corner, barking and going for Reese's ankles, grabbing his jeans with her teeth. Reese tries to maintain a grip on Scott, now with more to worry about. He looks to Hope, desperate. "I need your help right about now."

"No!" Scott screams. "Let me go!"

If you love me

Standing herself Hope's heart screamed at her. She wanted to run and hug him, tell him it would be ok, she wanted to say ok forget it. But she couldn't not this time. Scott had gone to far on letting himself go and in someways he looked worse then when she had first met him.

"Scott, please don't make this any harder than it is. We care, and this is not forever its only for a little bit. You'll have a telephone and you can bring your camera too if you like. This is whats best for you."

Hope keeps her hands in her pocket fingers around the syringe she had with the sedative. She didn't want to use it on Scott, she didn't want to force him but if she had to she would.

"You've lost a lot of weight Scott, and you have fallen into the pit of depression. Time, space we were happy to give you that, but now we are scared too. Your going with us, but we would rather you came by will, than force. Please...if you love me, do this for me. Get the help you know you need."

Hope glances to Reese again telling him to go around the other side. If Scott still refused than they would have to make him.

Forget it

Scott blinks, sure that he isn't hearing correctly at first. But listening to Hope, he realizes that it was true what she was saying. His expression goes from total shock, to almost blank.

"You're kidding me, right?" He looks between Hope and Reese. "Just because I took some time off, you two thought up a little scheme to get me to a hospital?"

Reese intervenes. "You know that's not it. There's a difference between taking time off and hiding yourself away. You're killing yourself, Scott, look at yourself. When was the last time you had a decent nights' sleep? Or a decent meal?"

"That's none of your business," Scott hisses. "I'm fine." His hand slips away from Hope's. "I'm fine the way I am, so you can forget it. I don't need help. I just need my space."

"You've had your space," Reese replies calmly. "And it's only hurting you more."

"So I lost some weight, big deal!" Scott's eyes turn frustrated. "So I prefer spending more time with my camera than people - what's different about that now than it was before? There's nothing wrong with me!"

"You know that's not true."

Scott stands up from the table, his chair scraping on the floor. "You two can just forget it. I'm not going anywhere."

"It's for your own good, Scott. We care. Now come on... don't fight us about it. We're trying to help."

"I don't need your help! I just need to be left alone! Can't anyone see that? I just need to be left alone!" Scott backs up several steps. "I'm not going."

Reese stands up slowly, his stomach starting to churn. He looks at Scott, seeing the fear and anger. Then he looks at Hope. He wouldn't make any move without her go-ahead. Brute force was the last resort, but he was ready if it needed to be done that way.

Because I love

Letting out a long sigh and coming into the house Hope gives a smile to Scott bringing him what comfort she could. This was going to be hard, and she new it but non the less Reese and herself thought it best for Scott's own health.

Sitting down next to Scott Hope takes his hand in her own. If anything she just wanted him to know she was there. She loved him and she would never leave him.

"Scott, Reese and I are worried about you. You hardly eat, see anyone and....I've...I've tried to help but there is nothing else I can do."

Hope looks to Reese for support this was hard...this was so hard to do when you were close to someone even though you new it was what was best.

"We have arranged for you to stay some place else for a little while. Its not a hospital exactly. You will have your own nice room and its done up like a house but you will be able to get more help there than I can offer you. I love you Scott and I am worried thats why I did this."

Looking at Scott Hope pauses not sure if Reese wanted to add anything before hearing what Scott had to say.

Leery

"Aw...." Gunner grins and accepts the gum. "You do know how to make me feel good, don't you?"

Tucking the gum in his pocket, he hides it for now for him to enjoy later. Standing up, he walks as far as he can next to Bree before he has to stop. Taking her hand and giving her one last kiss through the bars, he smiles his farewell. "Chin up... I'll see you soon."

Watching her leave, he nods to JT, with whom he hadn't been able to speak, but it was okay. JT knew that his job was to take care of Bree, and he would.

And once again, silence falls over the jail cell. Gunner stands for a long time, just looking at the door before finally retreating to his cot once again. Sucking the last bit of float from the cup, he tosses it in the waste can and leans back against the wall, closing his eyes. There was light at the end of the tunnel.

And so life continues to move on. The hands of time spin around the clock faces faster than anyone would like, bringing every moment closer to becoming the past. And it seems without warning, two days have gone by, leaving only memories.

Scott sits on the floor in his living room, his arms around his legs. The last couple days had been quiet. He'd turned off the ringer on his phone and hadn't gone out but once or twice to get the mail. He'd focused on developing more film, and had slept much of the days away, feeling too weary to do much else. Nightmares kept him awake in terror in the night, so sleeping during the day had become a habit. Today though, he'd found the picture he'd wanted. He'd taken it over a week ago in a flower shop, gaining permission to shoot a bright red lily. It had turned out better than planned, and he was sure that this one he could sell.

For now though, he was tired again, and sitting on the floor in the corner was somehow safer than out in the open, even in his own house. He wasn't sure what time it was. Skipping most meals, losing track of time was easy.

Reese parks his car on the curb and shuts off the engine, looking to Hope and taking a deep breath. "Well... let's do this."

Hope had confirmed that Brookshire was a safe place, and had also confirmed that Scott had shown no signs of improvement, only more decline. Reese had made the arrangements for taking Scott to the hospital and now they were at Scott's house, ready to go and break the news to him.

Mustering up what gumption he could, Reese exits the car and waits for Hope before walking up to the front door. He rings the doorbell and waits. Hearing nothing, he knocks and calls out. "Scott? Are you home?"

Scott stirs from his seat on the floor, hearing the doorbell. A chill runs down his spine. Who was here? What did they want? Then hearing Reese's voice, he relaxes. He didn't know what Reese wanted, but it wasn't an enemy.

Finally getting up, he wanders to the door and unlocks it, opening it up. Seeing both Reese and Hope though, catches him by surprise. "Oh... hi." Confusion was in his voice. "What's up?"

Reese offers a smile. "Can we come in."

"Yeah... sure." Still leery, Scott backs up so they can come in. His living room looked like it had become a photo lab... an obsession of the art instead of a hobby.

Reese gestures to the kitchen table. "Shall we sit?"

Scott looks at Hope, wondering what was going on. Something felt strange. Why were they here together? What had happened? What was wrong. He searches her eyes, but doesn't find the answers. "Um... sure."

Joining them at the table, all three sit and Scott continues to look at them for answers. "This doesn't feel like a social call... what's going on?"

Reese looks to Hope, letting her speak first.
