Thanks

For a moment, Scott thinks he's hearing things, though he skids to a halt. Turning around slowly, he knows it hadn't been his imagination. New tears spring into his eyes and he goes back to Hope's bead almost cautiously. "Hope?"

He eases down on the chair once more and takes her hand again. "I'm still here." He ignores the tears that roll down his face and he reaches out to brush Hope's cheek with his thin hand. "I missed you too," he whispers. It was all his fault. Everything. All he'd done was give her grief since the very beginning. He should have died while with the Agency - plain and simple. If he had, maybe Hope would have someone better now, to give her comfort.

Swallowing hard, Scott gives her hand a gentle squeeze. "Don't give up," he prompts softly. "You make the world a better place."

Reese leans his head against Angelica's, glad for her comfort. "I'm not convinced God did this," he muses quietly. "But maybe he can bring some good from it... somehow... I just wish I knew how."

Sighing, he turns to give her a kiss on the cheek. "Yeah... maybe later I'd like to go, after things settle down a little. I'd appreciate if you went with me, thanks."

The alarm in Gage's apartment continues to beep for another five minutes before finally shutting off automatically. Gage lies on his mattress, having intended to doze just a little before meeting Sapphire at Burger King for lunch, but he'd been so groggy, and his head and been throbbing. Somehow he'd fallen asleep, even with continued use of what Lonnie had given him. But this time was different. This time not even his blaring alarm had roused him. He still lie unmoving, his breathing steady, his body too desperate for rest to even wake.
