Alec looks both ways before heading across the lower level foyer. Getting to the first pillar, he watches the far camera sweep the room. Just as its focus reaches the other end, Alec counts to ten then walks at a medium pace to the bottom stairs. Stopping and counting to fifteen, he then heads up the stairs, stops, counts again, then heads down the hall.
Meeting him halfway was Ty, having been to work for only a couple hours. Nodding, then giving each other a high-five as they pass, in Alec's hand is now a security key card. Aiming for the main floor, he takes a look around, spotting the camera in the far corner. Dropping to his hands and knees, he crawls along the right hand side of cubicles, counting as he goes, until he reaches the end. Waiting until he'd reached thirty, he then makes it through the doorway before the camera ever catches him. It helped when someone had already figured out the exact timing pattern to be able to get out of the building without detection.
Once outside, Alec heads to an Elite vehicle and within minutes, it was hotwired so he could drive across town. And half an hour later, he, Eli and Ryan were in the garage with Roth's car.
Eli put down another strip of tape around the window, sealing the plastic. Some might think it impractical to be so particular about a paint job that would most likely be stripped within hours of its exposure. But Eli couldn't do half a job - it would be professional.
"Hey, Speedy, how's that tape over there coming? We ready to start painting or what?"
Alec fiddles around the headlights, making sure everything that needed to be covered was, though this really was out of his element. He was having to take directions from Eli, which was okay, but not something he was used to. At least Leo wasn't around tonight.
"Um..." Chance didn't like the thought of Destiny being out on the back porch by herself. There were enough cameras that no one could get past him, but by the time he got from the living room and out back, could be enough time for someone to nab her, or worse.
A few days ago, telling her no would have been no problem. But tonight... for some reason, it was just hard. He looks in her eye, wanting so badly to talk to her, but not having a clue what to even say.
"I could... bring my laptop out back with you," he suggests, even though it wasn't his ultimate. "That way you can get your fresh air and I can still keep an actual eye on you."
He knew it didn't sound so great - him needing to follow her around everywhere. It wasn't fair. If he were Reese, he would probably handle things differently, but... this was the way it was. He scrunches his nose a little in an apologetic look. "Sorry. I know you need "you time" too. You'll just have to put up with me a while longer. I'll pretend not to be there."

Under control
Hearing Chance would still be with her parents service made her fell good. It want that she thought he wouldn't go, but he said in a few days he had to do his own thing, and in a few days was the service too so she just wanted to make sure. If for anything out of her own paranoia.
"Yeah, Reese seems like he can be a pretty hard guy to work for. Not that, thats a bad thing ether. Like to keep everything under control. But I can see the frustration in it too."
Giving a chuckle as she puts another glass away Destiny makes in her own mind how being an Elite agent would be. In a way it seemed exciting thats what she always though about he dad's job to till the time he had explain to her how wrong it was. Those the Elite and Agency were two completely different sides of the law she could make a connection with them.
"I don't think I like watching my back all the time. Don't show it to much but even after your done being my bodyguard I am gonna always jump thinking the Agency is after me. Something about stepping outside the house and wondering If I'm going to die today is kind of a turn off."
Finishing up and putting the last glass away Destiny turns to Chance looking at him for a long moment. Shifting her weight Destiny was unsure now what to do. She wanted to say something more to Chance but she wasn't sure how or what.
As he talks first about getting some work done Destiny let out a short breath and gave a nod. He had work she couldn't stop that.
"Oh...ok, I'll figure something to do. I might grab a book and sit on the back porch is thats aloud or just sit at the kitchen take with the sliding door open for some fresh air."

Before bed
Chance looks to Destiny quickly, wondering why she'd have to ask if he'd be at her parents' funeral. Wasn't it natural that he would be? Had he implied otherwise, or acted like he didn't want to go? He hoped not. When two people got along, a friendship could form in a matter of minutes. With him and Destiny, it had formed over the course of several days being together. He'd treat her like he would any friend. Maybe he wasn't all that close to anyone, but he wouldn't leave her high and dry now.
"Of course I'll be there," he answers softly. "We're friends right? I wouldn't leave you to do that alone even if I wasn't your bodyguard."
Rinsing out a glass, he hands it to her carefully. "I'd bring you along to that meeting of mine in a few days but... first, you're right - Reese would have a fit, and two... I know you can act but... I wouldn't want to risk it. I've got to meet up with someone in that undercover scene - gotta make a deal on a gambling debt, then get out of there again." He sighs. "Which means I also have to come up with something to tell Reese since he's not in that loop. I wasn't planning on having to make any connections while I was here, but... I'm getting pressure and if I don't give, it's gonna blow my cover."
He leans on the sink and gives Destiny a sidelong glance. "The life of an Elite agent. Even when I'm playing bodyguard, I gotta watch my back."
Handing her the last glass, he pulls the plug in the drain and lets the water swirl down in the sink. Wiping off the counter with a little flourish, he hangs up the towel and turns to Destiny, seeming to not be too sure what to do now. It was too early for bed yet.... but he wasn't so sure about starting any more games or playing around tonight. "I got some work to do before bed..."

Oh yeah
Destiny didn't mind hearing about where Chance lived. It sounded nice, busy but there was nothing wrong with something being busy. Thinking about it now Destiny could understand why Chance probably missed it there. It was normal to him to always be on the go in the middle of everything that was busy.
"Sounds like a nice place there I could see why you would miss it. Always being on the go and than coming to almost a complete halt can be odd."
Taking the plate from Chance and drying it Destiny than puts it in the right location before taking the bowl and doing the same each time coming back to Chance's side for another.
Stopping a moment and lingering for a moment as he talks about having to go away to do another job Destiny can't help the loud thump in her chest. Someone else would have to come? It would only be a few hours but after getting use to Chance and his ways of doing things having someone else come would feel odd.
"Oh yeah, I am sure he could find someone. Not that I couldn't keep myself out of trouble if I just went with you. Slipping into a roll is easy but I guess Reese wouldn't be to happy if he found out. I...maybe Jason can come or something since I know him already it wont be to awkward feeling with someone else here. Your gonna be there for my parents service right?"

In the middle
Destiny's hand brushing against Chance's causes his eyes to fall shut for a moment though she doesn't see. Turning quickly back to the sink, he keeps his sights down, not really sure what to say now. They had kissed. But it wasn't like it was anything serious. It was just... just a kiss. Heat of the moment type thing, right? Sure, he'd liked it - who wouldn't? It didn't mean there was anything more to it than that... right?
Hearing Destiny's voice, he's brought back to what he was doing, realizing that the sink was almost full and quickly shutting off the water? "Hmm? Oh... yeah... I was in a pretty fast-paced area. Got a nice apartment... lots of city traffic. Not the sleepy side like it is around here. Back there it's get up and go, get to work, go go go, then back home and out for a night on the town."
He chuckles as he scrubs a plate, rinses and hands it to her. "It's weird not having that routine. I mean... sitting around here... it's like... not sure what to do with myself." He pauses, scraping away at a stubborn spot on a bowl. "Other than watching you and that undercover business of course. Which reminds me... I gotta meet up with a guy in a few days - figure I might have Reese get someone to come over here so I can take off for a couple hours. Don't want you in the middle of anything."

Wonder
Walking into the kitchen with Chance Destiny gives a small smile. Something about today seemed so different than the days before. She'd always been pretty good at keeping her own emotions at bay. It was another thing her father taught her because the Agency would feed on those emotions. She had done pretty good, till today. She had let her feelings show for Chance, about everything doing on...it was strange and now she couldn't deny they were there.
Coming up behind him Destiny reaches around him placing her cups in the sink. Just lingering for a moment she hand brushes his as it retreats even if she wanted to it to ling she pulled it away still unsure about how Chance was feeling not wanting to push to far.
Turning and grabbing the dish towel from the counter behind them she returns next to Chance waiting for him to start the dishes. Not knowing really what to talk about since what happened in the living room she just watches out the window too for a moment. Looking at Chance slightly she can see the far off look in his eye.
"Whats your home like? Is it quiet or busy? Lots of people?"
Destiny didn't mind knowing a little more about Chance and where he lived. She'd liked learning about new places and this would be a perfect chance to do so!

Wash and dry
The corner of Chance's mouth upturns a little. Yes, he'd wanted some time alone, if anything just to sort through and figure out how to justify kissing. But he didn't want to make Destiny feel badly. She was one strong, gutsy woman. But tonight, Chance had seen her need... her need for compassion... care... affection. He figured it existed in every woman somewhere, and tonight, for some reason, he'd seen it in her, full-blossom for the first time. And it had done something to him. And that, was what struck a strange cord of fear in him.
Forcing a smile to the surface, he shakes his head. "Come on... I'll wash and you can dry." He picks up his cup of tea as well and wanders to the kitchen, starting to run the hot water and putting the stopper in the drain. Looking out the back window, there wasn't a whole lot to see with the reflections in the way, but there were quiet town lights. It reminded him a little of home.

Understand
Taking both his hands to stand Destiny does so, still looking into Chance's eyes. There was something different there now, they both thinking, wondering if it was right or wrong, or if it was a mistake. She new in her mind, there had been something there that made her care for Chance, and drew she closer this now just seeming to add a little to it.
"I don't even know whats going on enough in this movie to sit and watch it to the end. I've missed way to much already. Not that I mind."
Straightening a little and giving a little stretch before picking up her tea glass with what was left of the now cold tea.
"And we did say I would help you since I kind of cheated with the candy game. I said I would dry if you washed and I will stick to my word. I honestly don't mind helping, unless you would rather have some space."
Again like before Destiny didn't want Chance to feel like she was smothering him. So if he did want to be alone than she understood completely wouldn't be mad.

Never a victor
Chance catches a slight look in Destiny's eye that wasn't there before, and he feels a little badly. Had he just led her on? Well, not really... he might not want to admit he'd just enjoyed kissing her, but it was true. But was it right? He was here to do a job, not have a summer fling. And besides... those eyes... they were too pure to just love and leave.
He grins at her comment and reaches down to push a stray strand of her hair out of the way. "Or you can finish up the movie while I go do the dishes. It's my job after all and since this was a tie... it's still my job."
Standing up again, he bends to give her both her hands if she wanted help getting up. "Besides... I have a feeling that a wrestling match would never end up with a victor. I'm too strong and you're too cunning."

Best Moment
Destiny can feel her heart thump in her chest. It pounded so hard she couldn't remember a time when it had been loud along with these feelings of bliss. These feelings she had to offer though it had only been a few days it was still a few days of 24/7. Ever since she told Chance off that day outside the lawyers office and the promised not to keep secrets she was now happy to share these with Chance, and make him feel good too.
As Chance pulls away from the kiss Destiny looks up at him. Her one hand sliding from his back but the other staying on his face as her thumb runs over his cheek bone. Searching his eyes for the longest moment, looking...looking for something. Hearing his words about being her bodyguard she continues to search the eyes looking for what was meant by his words. Was it a no we can't do this, or was it yes, but there was no time for more questions as the beep goes off and Chance stands going to the computer monitor.
Staring upward Destiny lets all the emotions flow through her as she trys to calm her breathing not letting on she was a little out of breath. Feeling Chance come back over she tilts her head back a little to look up at him, a smile coming to her lips again.
"Stupid dog rune the best moments."
She new for now the moment had been broken but it had been an amazing moment at that. But she could feel Chance's awkwardness and she couldn't help but feel bad a little. Swallowing the lump in her throat she turns her head to look at the tv a moment before back at him.
"Well...we could watch the rest of the movie that we have no idea whats going on, or we could go do those dishes since our wrestling ended in a tie, or we could continue the wrestling and see who wins."

Bodyguard
Chance's foot moves up against Destiny's foot, rubbing it slowly. Her hand running up and down his back felt good, as did her continued sweet kiss.
Her words bring his mind back around to what should be a dilemma that was being ignored for the moment. It had started out a game... but now wasn't? She wasn't just teasing him, trying to get him to give up so she could win their little battle and avoid doing dishes? She really did... want to be doing this? Her palm on his cheek felt so soft.
Destiny's continued kiss makes it hard for him to get a word in, but for the next few moments, he doesn't mind. Throwing caution to the wind, he ignores logic for a while, just to stay here and kiss a little longer. There was something different here... something different than what he'd felt just a day or two ago. Actually being caught in an embrace and kissing... Destiny brought on more feelings for her than he knew had existed. She wasn't just a frightened little girl who needed help. She was a young woman with feelings of her own to keep and to share.
Shifting around a little, Chance's arm comes back down, his hand brushing the side of her face. As he does though, his elbow brushes up against his side holster. And all of a sudden, reality hits him squarely in the face.
Breaking away from the kiss, he stares down into Destiny's eyes, searching them for the longest moment. How had they gotten into this? Were these feelings real? Did he really feel something for her? Did she really think this was more than a game, or was she just releasing pent-up emotions with everything that had been going on?
His voice is quiet... softer than normal. "I'm your bodyguard."
A beeping at the computer monitors snaps his head up, his whole body tensing. Somehow managing to get up without stepping on Destiny, he stumbles over to the screens to see what was going on. His eyes narrow. It was the neighbor's dog - nothing to worry about. But the moment had been successfully broken, leaving the awkward aftermath. He had broken so many rules tonight.
Turning around, he wanders back to Destiny, squatting down near her head. "Just a dog," he informs. He searches her eyes again, biting his lower lip. "Well, darlin' what do we do now?"

The second time
Taking Chance's nudge back as a sigh it was ok, and he liked it Destiny just continued. Her hand running on Chance's back her own little murmur coming from her lips showing she did in fact like his kiss as well.
Hearing his words between there kiss Destiny can't help the small smile a little but still not breaking the kiss ether. Letting it ling for more than a few moments she finally can take a few breaths and gets some words in herself.
"I...was going to ask...you that same thing. It....stopped feeling like...a game to...me...when I actually kissed you...the second time."
Keeping her hand still on Chance's back and one in his head Destiny lets it slide to the side of his face so she could cradle it. Letting the kiss continue before he can say something else.

Game?
Destiny's hands moving to his back and head make Chance relax all the more, one hand moving down to the side of her face as they kiss.
Feeling her foot slide on his leg, he at first thinks she might be going to tickle him again, but realizing she's not, he nudges her foot back a little, continuing the motion.
By now, his mind was starting to get just out of reach - Destiny's embrace... her kiss... they were tantalizingly sweet, seeming to put him almost in a trance, while somewhere there was something tugging at him, trying to pull him back to reality. But this was so warm... comfortable... different... totally insane.
Managing to speak, he murmurs, though his lips seem to have a mind of their own as they refuse to stay away from hers to form a complete sentence all at once.
"Are we... still.... playing... a game?"

Skin
As Chance leans down to let her rest her head on the floor again Destiny slips her hands so one was now on his back and the other going to the back of his head.
Continuing the kiss Destiny still didn't quite understand these emotions that were going on inside her but there was no resist for her ether. Chance's kiss was sweet, and soft, it brought a warm, safe comfort inside her.
Pulling her head back for a moment Destiny's breath was heavy but tilting it the other way she returned once again. Now lost if this way still the game or there own emotions that drove them to this, Destiny really didn't know if she cared. Bringing her leg to meet Chance's destiny runs her foot up his leg lifting the pant leg a little to rub her foot on his skin.

Um.... o.O
Destiny's comment makes Chance grin a little - she was just being a big tease, that was all. Trying to find any way she could to get him to give up just so she could win the game. His awkwardness vanishes and he's about to tell her he'll let her win but she owes him, when without warning, she returns for another kiss.
Shocked for a second time, Chance can't help it that the gesture - serious or not - sends a flood of warmth through his veins. Destiny's hands that crawl up to his shoulders seem to have more power than he had and his hands slide forward a little, bringing him down closer until she can lay her head back on the floor though he had not broken their kiss.
Surely she meant nothing by this. Surely she was still just playing. She had to be, right? They'd been together a few days, but she was just toying... just fooling around as part of their silly game... right?
Chance moves his head the other way, letting the kiss linger. She was an awfully good actress... He questions if it really was just playing. It certainly didn't feel like it this time, and he could feel his own emotions start to slip from the vice grip he usually held them under.

6/5/10
*HIDES FOREVER*
Still looking up at him and feeling his breath on her skin Destiny receives his words. Looking up at him and searching his eyes. A whole new feeling emerges inside her from that one kiss and she wasn't to sure what it was though she did know her body wanted to shut down to it for some reason.
"Thats a shame, nether do I. This could go on all night!"
Bringing her lips to Chance's again this time the kiss was a little softer, her hands finding there way up arms and to his shoulder. Continuing the kiss, and letting it linger this time, the emotions from the day, and maybe the days before along with a longing now coming out!

Uh....
Getting bumped with Destiny's knee, Chance is thrown forward just enough that he catches himself on the floor, letting her shoulders go. Knocked off balance, his head comes down, his face hovering right over Destiny's, close enough he could feel her breath as they continued their little game.
Thinking he still has the upper hand, he grins and starts to tease her, when he's taken quite by surprise.
Having Destiny come up for a kiss, he has nowhere to go, and his eyes widen in shock. Feeling her lips lingering on his, his shoulders relax, forcing him to press into the kiss and return it.
As she pulls away though, he just stares down at her and blinks, forgetting for a moment to breathe. He stares as if trying to figure out if that was all part of the game, or if she had actually meant something more by it.
"I never give up," he answers lamely and doesn't move, still seated on her stomach, his hands now resting on the floor on either side of her head.

O.O O.O NO OJ INVOLVED!
As Chance grabs her Destiny gives another sheik as she slides off the couch and she starts to laugh not even thinking about the situation they were in.
Not even knowing how she ended up at the bottom Destiny was now looking up at Chance. Cocking her head a little bit Destiny trys to evaluate the situation in what she could do to get out of it. Getting a grin on her face Destiny didn't even think as she acting seeing a way.
Bringing her knee up and bumping Chance in the butt with it pushes him forward but not nearly enough. As he places his hands on the ground to stop from falling Destiny can't help but notice he was now even closer to her. Using the backup plan Destiny leans her head up a little and press her lips to his. Letting it linger quite a bit longer than she exspected herself to let it she finally pulls away. Her cheeks read but the twinkle in her eyes was still there with a flirty smile.
"Give up now?"

Uncle
Staring up from his back on the floor, Chance's eyes water from his unwanted laughter, brought on by the tickling. Gazing into Destiny's eyes as she peers over the edge of the couch, he smirks at her. "Women. None of you fight fair, you know that?"
Seeing her grinning, his eyes narrow. "You think I'm gonna give up that easily, you're sorely mistaken."
Quick as lighting, he reaches up and takes hold of Destiny's arm. Within what seemed less than a second, he had pulled her off the couch, wedged them both between the couch and the coffee table, then had forced her to the floor instead, winding up straddling her torso and pinning down her shoulders.
Looking down at her, it's his turn to grin. "Say uncle."
As Sapphire moves to Gage's side of the table, he looks at her with question, even when she explains. Did she know? Had she seen the other table? If that were true, she was bold enough to come right on over and sit next to him, claiming him as hers?
Though she was waiting for an answer about what he wanted to eat, he eyes her for several moments, not speaking until he was sure of the words he wanted to say. "Yeah... yeah, I know what I want. Just never quite sure if it's actually attainable or not."
Giving a little tired smile, he squeezes her hand. "But you've made it bearable. Thank you."
Looking back at his menu, he keeps her hand in his, as his thumb runs back and forth over her knuckles without him even realizing it. "Yep... I'm ready to order too."

Peek
As Destiny tickles the bottom of Chance's feet his reaction makes her start laughing to as she continues trying to make him submit. Feeling his foot jerk from her grib and than him tumbling of the couch Destiny stops dead in her tracks the grin on her face fading a little.
Moving very slowly forward till she is laying across the couch she slowly peeks over the edge of the couch. At first its just her eyes, than a nose, and than her whole face as she looks down at Chance blinking the grin finally making its way back. She stared in shock and amusing.
"Ahhhh...I win?"
She continues to blink down at Chance seeing he was in face ok, and no bones were broken, or bodily injury was ensued.
Getting to the restraint and finding a booth with Gage she was happy they had come here. Being a place she had always loved and not been back to in a long time it was nice to come back here again now with Gage. Sharing parts of her life with him from she childhood was nice and she liked it.
Sitting in silence for a few moments as she looked over the menu to see and what she wanted it didn't take her long to know. Glancing up at Gage to see ask if he new she saw the color on his face and look away quick. Following his eyes to the other table where she saw the others sitting and laugh Sapphire new partly what this was about.
Not thinking twice she gets up from her chair and comes around to Gage's side to sit down next to him. Giving a grin as she looks in him the eyes she takes his hand in hers.
"I just felt like sitting with you today and not alone on the other side of the table. Because you deserve to have me next to you, and I deserve to be next to you."
Giving a smile and leaning into Gage so her head met his shoulder for a moment before sitting up again she looks over at his menu.
"Know what ya want?"

O.o
Chance grins as he's got Destiny beat. However, though he may have physically, she still had something up her sleeve he wasn't expecting.
As she grabs hold of his feet and starts to tickle him, his eyes widen. Something like a muffled shriek comes out of his lips as he shoots up from his lounged position. Not many things bothered him, but it was only a very few people that knew his feet were extremely ticklish.
"Ack! You- Just - Destiny!"
His hold on her is immediately loosened as he flails to get away. One foot shoots out from her grasp, almost whacking her in the head. Moving around too much, the couch rocks as he loses his balance, teetering precariously on the edge of the cushion.
And with a final cry, he rolls right off the couch and onto the floor, lying on his back between the couch and coffee table. His face was red, mostly from trying to hold in his laughter, but out of breath, he doesn't even have the strength to get back up.
"Sounds good to me." Gage walks with Sapphire out to her car and slides in the passenger side. The ride was fairly quiet - but much of their time spent together was that way. But even in the silence, it seemed they said so much.
Arriving at the restaurant, Gage walks in beside Sapphire, feeling just a little out of place, but trying not to let it show. Once seated, they're able to order, and he fiddles with his glass of water, his eyes roaming the room where other people were dining.
Before the food comes, his gaze lands on a certain table in the corner. He recognized two of the men - they were officers who had watched the group of prisoners alongside the roads. And they had spotted him. Gage remembers they had been his least favorite - no mercy and always making cracks about the men working. Even now, as their eyes met, Gage can see them snicker and gesture in his direction, making their women look too.
Looking back down at the table, Gage's cheeks gain color. He doesn't say anything to Sapphire though - it was too embarrassing. Crossing paths with those men... they were now on equal territory. But Gage was the one who didn't really belong. All the other people in the restaurant - they didn't know him from a hill of beans. But those two... they did... and they knew he didn't really deserve to be here.

The point
Destiny couldn't help the laughing that escaped her lips. The grim thoughts that had been plaging her mind for the last few hours had now been forgot. Just messing around with Chance a little had seemed to cure her sadness for now.
As is continues Destiny didn't even know what the point was she didn't care this was way to much fun than to worry about what the point was.
Not moving fast enough this time as Chance takes a hold of her leg in the combat move Destiny gives a little shriek but the twinkle in her eyes shows she was still having a good time and didn't feel threatened at all.
"Dish...you want me to do dishes? The whole point of the candy game was so I could get out of doing dishes. There is no chance on your life buddy I am gonna do that at all."
Looking around for a few moments Destiny trys to find a way out she skeems in her own mind. Hey eyes though catch sight of his feet up close to her chest as he held her leg. Acting quick she had no other way out than this. Reaching for his feet and taking hold tightly she brings her other hand in and starts to tickle the bottom of his feet.
Giving a laugh and letting her arms fall from around Gage Sapphire lets him go to finish getting ready. Continuing to piddle around in the kitchen and than in the living room she kept herself busy.
Once Gage was ready Sapphire stands and gives a smile. Smelling the soft smell of his aftershave linger in the air her smile grows a little. Once his arm was around her and they were ready her own arm slips up and around his wast. Walking together insink they didn't miss a beat together.
"Mmm...steak sounds like it would hit the spot and I think I know the perfect place. The steak house on the north end of town is amazing. Our family use to go there once a week when Scott and I were kids. Your gonna love it."

A whole cow
As Sapphire pulls back, Gage lets her, a faint smile lingering on his lips. A bit of amusement enters his gaze. "Yeah... my stomach's been growling since I got up."
Leaning down to give her forehead one last kiss, he backs off, grabbing his toothbrush. "I'll be back in a jiffy."
True to his word, it doesn't take him long to finish getting ready to go. His feet were sore from working so he just slips on his flipflops before confining his feet in his work boots again that night. Rummaging through the little closet in the bathroom, he finds a clean navy t-shirt - it was the best he could to. Maybe now that he had a job, he'd be able to buy a few more clothes, maybe a little nicer.
Running a comb through his hair, he cocks his head at the mirror, then shakes it. Running his fingers back through his hair, he leaves it just slightly unkempt. Sapphire liked it that way. Slapping on just a hint of aftershave, he comes back out into the other room. "Alright, I'm ready."
Grinning, he slips an arm around Sapphire's shoulders to lead her to the door. "I'm thinking.... steak. I feel like I could eat a whole cow."
Having his leg pushed clear off the couch, Chance gives Destiny a look out of the corner of his eye. With just the two of them, things did get a little boring at times. Lack of entertainment could quite possibly be the reason they had reverted to childish behavior more than once. Destiny was going through a very rough time, while Chance took his job of protection very seriously. But sometimes the pressure was just too much, and breaking out and doing something quite silly was inevitable.
Putting his leg back up on the couch, he pretends to move on and pay attention to the movie. He was, however, waiting for an opportune moment. And when Destiny shifts a little bit on her side of the couch, his foot goes sliding back over to give her lower leg a strong enough bump to unseat her. Grinning evilly, he raises and lowers his eyebrows in a challenge.
And the battle starts.
First one nudge, then a push, then a light kick, then another nudge, and soon the movie was being completely ignored as they kicked, shoved and scooted with their feet. If asked, perhaps neither would have had a good answer for why they were doing this or what the ultimate goal was, but it didn't seem to matter much.
Eventually, Chance reverts to using a couple combat maneuvers in order to get Destiny's legs in an impossible position with no way she could wriggle out.
Breathing a little heavily, Chance grins, his legs wrapped around hers in a locked hold. "Take my duty for washing the dishes tonight, and I'll let you go," he bribes.

Live off you Kisses
Feeling Gage's arm tighten around her and turn around so she is pinned between him and the counter Sapphire's own arms tighten around him making sure to hold him close and let him know she didn't mind this at all.
"Mmmm...I know...but....this is so...much better."
Sapphire's hand run up and down Gage's back softly, but strong letting him know she likes the kisses. So letting them continue for a long more few moments Sapphire finally pulls away with he smile still on her lips.
"If I could live off your kiss I would be set. Sadly though my stomach is starting to yell at me."
Her cheeks were slightly red from all the kissing that had been going on as her breaths were slight heavy. But she new even if she wanted to stay here all day she new they couldn't. Dinner was waiting.
Feeling the push back on her leg Destiny snaps her head back to Chance as her eyes squint a little. Thinking for a moment she moves her own foot again this time pushing his leg off the couch than moving her leg back quickly she looking down as if studying her hands.

I suppose...
Gage doesn't mind a bit that they might be delayed a few minutes for supper. He was hungry, but he'd missed out on time with Sapphire for lunch and he didn't want to give it up now. She meant everything to him. Without her, he would probably be in prison.
Moving his arms back down, he tightens his grip around her, holding her even closer as they kiss. Slowly turning around, he places her between himself and the counter, applying just enough pressure so she couldn't get away. Cocking his head one way, then the other, he gives her the kisses he knew she liked - she deserved them.
In between, he speaks softly again. "I suppose...... I should............. get ready to......... to go..."
Feeling the nudge to his leg, Chance looks over at Destiny, one eyebrow quirked at a peculiar angle. His toes wriggle in his white sock before he opts to meet her silent challenge.
He gives her knee a heftier shove before retreating and looking back to the television.

Gage
Letting her other hand slip around his back too Sapphire leans into him more taking in his kiss and and enjoying the sweet moment with him. Hearing his comment in between the kiss Sapphire can't help but smile as her eyes twinkled looking up at him.
"Your so important to me Gage, and..."
Sapphire goes in for her own kiss again.
"...your so important to me too."
Feeling Gage's hands go up her neck and cradle her face. So soft, so warm, it gave Sapphire an inner warmth that she had never felt before meeting Gage. He had something special and she loved every moment of it. What was another five minutes right?
Giving a chuckle at Chance Destiny take another sip of her tea before replying to him. She was happy he liked the movie.
"Hey I like a chick flick as much as the next girl, but I figure if your gonna be in here too I wouldn't torcher you at all."
Destiny gives a slight grin that drops as Chance's foot hits hers. Looking down at his foot Destiny blinks for a moment before taking her own and pushing his leg a little in a returned playful manor. Looking back at Chance her eyes give a slight twinkle.

Good Taste
"Mmm..." Gage feels himself slipping into a little feeling of bliss - one that only Sapphire could bring. Tilting his head back as she spreads the kisses lightly over his chest then up his neck, his hands move down to rub her back. Then shifting his face again, his lips meet hers and he returns the kiss with slow and gentle passion.
Pulling back just enough to see her eyes, his own were still tired, though they held their spark. "All you did to deserve me was just simply being you." It was true. Sapphire was the first one that had believed in him, the first one to give him a chance, and the only one that had stuck with him and who wanted to form a relationship. Giving her another kiss, his hands move up to cradle her face.
"You're all I got..." He kisses her again, forgetting about getting ready to go.
"All I've... ever had," he mumbles in between more kissing.
Walking with Destiny to the living room, Chance was inwardly kicking himself. He needed to be more careful with those phone calls. Toby could know that he didn't want to be here, but having Destiny know just made things too awkward.
Settling down in "his" corner of the couch, he sits diagonally, putting his feet up on the couch. seeing the movie Destiny picks, he grins. "Mmm you got good taste in tea and movies."
Moving his feet back, he accidentally bumps her. "Oh, sorry."

6/4/10
I need to go now!
As Gage turns around and his own hands run up her arms and her neck her own eyes close as a low murmur can be heard showing she liked it. She always liked when Gage touched her, it was so soft, and it made her feel so safe.
Opening her eyes again to look deep into Gage's a smile slips on Sapphire's lips completely wrapped in the moment. Gage made her feel so special and like her was a million dollars, she loved the feeling.
Leaning into Gage Sapphire softly kiss his chest her breath brushing across his skin.
"Those words mean so much coming from you Gage, it makes me feel amazing."
Placing another soft kiss on his chest she moves up a little was and places a kiss on his neck her hands still on his chest.
"I'd don't know what I did to deserve you, but I am happy I did it."
Pulling away just a little so she could look into Gage's eyes again the smile was still on her face. A millions things ran through her mind never landing on one. How happy she was, how happy she felt.
"If you need more than five minutes, I don't mind."
Leaning up Sapphire press her lips to Gage's just letting the soft passion show though. She one hand still firmly in place on Gage's chest while her other slipped to his back.
Holding her tea in one hand Destiny takes Chance's other with her own. She figured he wouldn't mind but she wanted to ask to be nice anyways.
Going into the living room she goes to the couch only taking up half. Taking the remote and flipping thought the channel she finally settled on a good looking action movie to watch. Hoping i would be something Chance might like too.

Feeling Sapphire's soft hands slide around him, Gage stops rinsing his toothbrush. As her palms glide to his chest, he closes his eyes and takes a deep breath, feeling her right behind him. Her light kisses to his back send a chill down his spine. Just letting her give him her affection for several moments, he leans back into her just a little to let her know he enjoyed it.
Setting his toothbrush down on the counter, he turns slowly to face her, a thin smile creasing his lips. His hands run up her arms to her shoulders, then her neck, his thumbs caressing her jawline and cheeks. "I think I might need more than five minutes now," he mentions almost in a whisper. His eyes bounce back and forth between her own as he continues to feel her fingertips on his skin. "You're beautiful, you know that?"
Hearing Destiny's request, Chance lowers his cup of tea and cocks his head. It wasn't like he had places to go - whether stuck or by choice, they were together until the Elite was sure she was safe on her own again. He had nothing better to do. Being with her was his job.
"Sure." He holds out his hand to her. "I like you being in my line of sight anyway."

I TOLD HER NO! SHE DIDN'T LISTEN!
Seeing Gage come out of the bathroom with the toothbrush still in his mouth Sapphire can't help but giving a little chuckle. The toothbrush added to how good he looked right now totally.
Stepping a little more into the room Sapphire was able to see into the kitchen better now as she watched Gage, not being able to not take her eyes off him. Seeing him look over his shoulder and giving her a grin to go with the slight tired glint in his eye Sapphire bites her lower lip for a moment.
Not being able to resist anymore Sapphire draws closer to the kitchen coming up behind Gage. Wrapping her arms around his wast his back to her chest still she gives a slight squeeze.
"Mmmm...I could never let you go out like this. Someone else will see how scrumptious you look and steal you away."
Losing her grip Sapphire lays her hands flat on Gage's stomach moving her hands lightly up his abs feeling the ripples as her hands made her way softly up to his chest. Leaning her head against his back, her soft lips meet his skin as she gives it a kiss, and than another completely lost in the moment.
Giving a smile and a small nod Destiny takes a sip of her own tea. No matter how hot it would be outside tea was always a nice way to wind down.
"Mmm..that it is."
Standing there for a few more moments Destiny sifts her weight a little before looking at Chance again.
"You wouldn't mind if I sat out here with you and watched tv would you? I..kind of feel lonely and it would be nice to at least know someone is in the room with me."

Gmm fvv
Gage pauses at the sink in the bathroom as he hears his door being opened. He recognizes it as someone with a key though, so he doesn't worry.
Then hearing Sapphire's voice, he grins. Still brushing his teeth, he wanders from the bathroom, his toothbrush sticking out of his mouth. His hair was still wet from his shower, and he had yet to pull a clean shirt from the laundry to go with the only pair of jeans he had without holes in them.
"Hi." Though his eyes were still a bit tired looking, at least he was alert now, quite a contrast from earlier in the day.
Trying not to swallow his mouthful of toothpaste he holds up his hand. "Gmm fvv," he mumbles. Then laughing at himself, he leans over the kitchen sink to spit and rinse. "Gimme five minutes," he repeats more clearly.
Looking over his shoulder at Sapphire, he grins. "Unless you can't wait that long. But I don't think I should go out like this."
Chance remains close to Destiny while his mind tries not to dwell on her words about him. He wanted her to like him, and he wanted her to dislike him. His mind hated him for it.
Searching her face again, he takes his cup of tea and nods a little. "It'll take however long it takes. And I'll be there..." His voice seems to soften again. "...whether there's a security risk or not."
Taking a sip of tea, he lets the hot liquid slide down his throat and he closes his eyes for a moment before huffing a little sigh and looking back at Destiny. "You're right. It doesn't fix a thing. Sure tastes good though."

How long
Sapphire gives a little chuckle as she nods even though no one could see her. Her work was done here and she didn't get off for another half hour, but this might give her some time to go home and clean up too.
"Fourty five minutes would be prefect. While you at it think where you want to eat. It can be someplace fast, or someplace we can sit and enjoy it ether way with me tonight is ok."
Finishing the phone conversation Sapphire closes down the rest of her stuff and puts away what needed to be before checking with Reese to make sure it was ok to leave early. Getting the ok Sapphire heads for home to shower and get ready.
About a half hour late Sapphire new she was a little early but maybe Gage was ready. Getting out of the car and heading up to his apartment she unlocks the door before entering.
"Gage it's me, I know I am a little early but I got ready faster than expected. Guess I was in a hurry to see you."
Seeing the look in Chance's eye Destiny continues to stair as she lowers her head a little bit but keeps eye contact. Searching, looking, trying to understand what the look she saw was about. Though as quick as it came it was gone again and Destiny was only left with a grin on her lips.
"I'd rather say I choose to be with you, not I'm stuck with you."
Feeling Chance's hand brush her arm she takes note to the light touch he had. His hands were soft, and his touch light. It felt nice on her skin even if it was on mistake.
"No it doesn't fix everything but we can pretend it does if."
Giving a half smile Destiny turns and takes the cups from the microwave placing them on the counter and putting the tea bags in. Than adding just a little sugar and a little milk she lets out a small sigh before turning half way to Chance again.
"Not tomorrow but the day after is my parents funeral. Not doing a showing or anything so we wont worry about monitoring the people coming in and out for that, than..that will be that. Go to the church, than the graveyard. I'm not sure how long it will take."

Stuck
"No... I mean yes." Gage finally manages to get to his feet, his clothes all matted and wrinkled. "Yeah, we'll go to supper. I can't forfeit our time just because I got a job. Everybody else does it, I better be able to, too."
Wandering to the kitchen as he talks, he pokes his head in the refrigerator but finds it void of the lemonade he wanted. Oh well.
"So.... you wanna pick me up? I should be able to get showered and changed and whatever else in about forty-five minutes. 'Course, I don't know when you get off work so.... whatever you want."
Chance looks back and forth between Destiny's eyes, his expression the same, though there was a far off look in his eye... almost as if he were searching for something just out of reach. Something missing in his life. A piece of the puzzle that had yet to be found and put in place. But he blinks and it's gone.
Still looking in her own eyes though, the left corner of his mouth pulls up to give him the same crooked grin he always wore. "Kinda sucks getting used to a job then getting tossed somewhere else too. It's not so bad though, huh?" He chuckles. "And don't worry... Toby likes getting on my nerves. Knowing him, he'll keep me here just for spite, so... you're probably stuck with me for a while."
The microwave beeps and he continues to study her eyes before sliding an arm back beside her to open the microwave, his arm brushing up against hers. "Tea fixes everything, right?"

Man of action
Destiny give a little laugh at the mention to making good tea. She new it wasn't her, but she couldn't help the way she felt anyways it was just something that happened. Taking the cup from the cupboard and puts some water in both glass before putting the cups into the microwave.
"Yeah, I know I know thats why I said I hope Reese is finding a replacement for ya. Kind sucks getting use to someone and than being tossed to someone else. Just part of the territory I guess, wont last forever."
Reaching for the peach tea for herself and the normal English tea for Chance Destiny sets the bags on the counter before turning and coming face to face with Chance. Looking away she gives a small smirk before looking back at Chance into his eyes.
"Your more of a get in the middle of the action kind of guy...can't blame you for that. It is pretty boring here."
Feeling her phone vibrate in her pocket Sapphire stops what she was working on and answers it. Hearing Gage's voice Sapphire smiles as she cradles the phone between her cheek and shoulder going back to what she was doing while she talked.
"Hey there handsome. Yeah I was there around lunch and we decided to do dinner since u were so tired. Did you still want to do that or would you rather wait? Its up to you babe, I know u have to work tonight again."
Finished with what she was doing and shutting her computer off finished for the day. If Gage said he was to tired for dinner Sapphire would understand but she was leaving it up to him.

Good tea
Spinning around from the window, Chance's eyes widen just a little, realizing that Destiny had heard his call. He would have been a bit peeved, had he not known that it was his own fault the call had not been completely private.
His mouth hangs open for a moment, not sure how to respond, and then he's offered tea. "Um... yeah... sure."
Sighing, he wanders to the kitchen behind Destiny, watching her for a moment as she prepares the tea. "Look, Destiny..." Coming up closer at her back, he looks over her shoulder, his voice lowering. "I didn't... I didn't mean I was unhappy with you. This just... isn't my thing. It isn't you though. I mean, at least you're smart and not out getting yourself into trouble. You're making my job pretty easy. Not to mention... you make good tea."
Five o'clock. Gage opens his eyes and blinks, smacking his dry lips. He felt like he'd been run over by a truck. Yawning, he looks at the clock and rubs a hand over his face. He should probably get up. Get something done before he had to leave again tonight and-
Wait... hadn't there been something else?
Frowning at his own mind's fogginess, he fumbles around for his phone and eventually dials Sapphire, still trying to wake up. "Hey, babe, um..." His voice was still hoarse from just waking up, but he had to talk to her before he accidentally forgot anything. "Were you... were you here earlier? Something about supper?"

Sorry
Giving a smile and shaking her head a little Sapphire new Gage had to be tired after his first day of work and for that she was not upset. Dinner was just as good as lunch and she wouldn't have to run back to work afterward. So in a way it would be a little nice.
"Dinner is good. I don't mind that at all."
Leaning down and giving Gage a kiss on the for head Sapphire rests her head aganst his for a moment before taking the blanket at his feet and pulling it over him. Standing again Sapphire smiles before turning and heading out of the apartment. Locking the door behind she makes her way to the car. She'd be back about six.
Leaving her bedroom and coming down the hall Destiny was about to enter the living room where she new Chance was when she stops at the corner still hidden from view hearing Chance's voice. She wasn't meaning to be nosy only didn't want to interrupt him.
Just leaning against the wall Destiny can't help but feel strange by some of Chance's words. They almost stung a little even if she wasn't sure why. He felt like he was baby sitting her? She'd tried to stay out of his way, maybe it was just simply being here. Somewhere inside it hurt that Chance wanted to get away as soon as he could. Another person who came into her life, and taken away.
Continuing to just stand where we was Destiny waits for his next conversation to end. Peeking around the corner she watches as Chance moves to the window. Finally coming around her stands there for a moment before speaking.
"I'm sorry you have to babysit me. Maybe Reese will find a replacement soon and than u wont have to worry about it. I'm going to make some tea would you like some too?"
Turning she heads to the others room taking a short pause before entering the kitchen waiting for his answer. She new he loved his tea so it was only nice to ask him too.

Gamble
Gage is so deeply in sleep that he doesn't even hear Sapphire come into his apartment. Feeling his shoulder shake a little, and then hearing her voice, he pries himself from his foggy state enough to open one eye.
Looking up at her groggily, he tries to open his other eye too but it's a little slower. "Mmm...." What had she just asked? Oh, lunch. Supper. It was noon. "Sorry," he mumbles. "I just... passed out." He knew he was in no shape to go to lunch with her. He was grimy, smelled like sweat and was too sleepy to be much good for anything.
"Um... supper... mm-hmm." He nods a little as his eyes fall shut again. "I survived work," he mentions, though it was mumbled into his pillow. "Supper... I'll be up by then... I promise."
"Few days down... who knows how many to go." Chance leans back in the desk chair, putting his hands back behind his head as he surveys the camera monitors. His headset was serving as his phone for the moment, while he was alone in the living room. He'd seen Destiny head to her room, so he figured it was a good time to get in touch with Toby along with his other contact.
"Nah... it's not so bad. I'm sure you're glad to have me out of your hair."He rolls his eyes. "Hmm? Oh, yeah, everything's under control." He swivels a little, keeping himself awake as he talks. "What, you kidding me? First sign of Reese getting a replacement, I'm out of here. First couple days are alright but no... would not want to do this full time."
He stops swiveling an listens. "Well you tell Rob he cannot have that office space because I'm coming back.... Look, I'm the one over here stuck being the babysitter. Tell him to keep his paws off that Mangle's case because I'm still working on it! Don't- ....just-" Chance groans and straightens up in his chair. "Alright, fine."
Movement on a monitor catches his attention and he leans forward to study it. It wast just a cat. "What? Oh, no, she's fine. Not a pansy like I expected. Tough chick. Feel sorry for her. Funeral's coming up as soon as they'll release the bodies after the investigation. I'd just as soon give her a new location and identity but Reese doesn't want to do it that way." He reaches for his glass of iced tea that was now lukewarm. "If you talk to him though, just see what his plans are, will you? He won't tell me and I want to know if he's looking for a replacement. ...Yeah, okay. I'll be in touch."
Taking off the headset, Chance gives another little groan and rubs his hands over his eyes. Checking the time, he then picks up his cellphone and dials. "Mr. A. Whatcha got for me today?" Leaning towards the laptop beside the other equipment, he brings up his email. "Boy, you're pushing it." His tone had changed to one of someone wheeling and dealing. "What's the gamble?" He thinks for a moment. "Odds are too steep. Make it three thousand and we'll go another round. Fine. Don't call me again until you hear from me." Hanging up, he shuts down his email too and stands, stretching tall. Everything else was quiet. Wandering to the front bay window in the living room, he watches the sleepy street, thinking of the pool back home.

instead
Sitting in the parking lot for fifteen minutes maybe more Sapphire started to get a little worried. Gage has said the night before they would go for lunch and he would be waiting for her when she got out of work. But now there was no sigh of him moving out of the apartment after telling her he would meet her outside.
Knowing she really shouldn't worry Sapphire gets out of her car before making her way up the short steps. Getting to his front door She fishs for the key from her purse before entering the house.
Looking around Sapphire see Gage passed out of the mattress. Going over to him she slowly kneels down next to him. Giving a smile seeing him still in his work clothing and how deep of a sleep he was in Sapphire gives a small shake of her head before gently shaking Gage a little.
"Gage, its me. It's noon, I know your tired though want to meet for dinner instead so you can get some sleep?

Sore
Having Beth turn down lunch for a second time, Justin's lips curl just enough to show a wry grin. Strike two.
"Alright... well thanks anyway. I owe you." Opening the door, he pauses as Beth speaks again. Looking back over to her, he chuckles. "Yeah, well... you never know when I might show up. Besides... this isn't really work."
Sliding out of the car, he bends down for a moment, almost as if wanting to say more than he really does. "Take care, Beth. I'll be seeing ya."
Phil smiles a little as he sees Rayne starting to fall back to sleep. "You have a good night too," he replies quietly.
Standing up, he looks down at her for another moment or two before finally exiting the room.
For Gage, the morning didn't come fast enough. He'd thought the roadside service had been tough - that was nothing compared to a night at the lumber mill. Not only was he the newbie, but the work was heavier than he was used to. Without having done anything for so long, it was difficult for him to get back in the groove.
After eleven hours, the walk home felt like a hundred miles instead of just one. But the time he reaches his apartment, his feet are dragging. He was hot, sweaty and totally exhausted. He was supposed to have lunch with Sapphire today so he could tell her about his first night at work, but it would be a miracle if he was even awake.
Kicking off his shoes, he trudges into the living room and flops down on his mattress, still sweaty, still in his work clothes. Every muscle in his body ached. Just turning his head hurt. A hot shower would probably do him good, but it hurt too much to move to even think about going and starting the water.
His eyes start to drift closed. Turning onto his side, he groans. Was he even going to get used to this work? He was still glad to have a job, but new doubts were arising.
Yawning, he closes his eyes and let his head sink into his pillow. Half an hour... that's all... just half an hour. Unfortunately, he didn't set any alarms, and half an hour turns into several hours, bringing him to lunchtime, at which point, he still hadn't moved.
"Alright... well thanks anyway. I owe you." Opening the door, he pauses as Beth speaks again. Looking back over to her, he chuckles. "Yeah, well... you never know when I might show up. Besides... this isn't really work."

Smile
Giving a smile and a short chuckle at Phil's comment about the nurse Rayne gives a small nod. The nurses here were nice but the pretty much stuck to the rules. Not to mention she was feeling a little tired again as the pain meds were starting to take over once more.
"Yeah, they probably would start coming in and complaining soon. We don't want that."
Leaning her head back and letting it sink into the pillow Rayne looks over to see Phil again still. Somewhere inside even though she was tired it was odd but she felt a little sad to see him go. Hearing his last words though about meeting the other band members she new it was time.
"I'll deffintly look you up next time I come to a concert. Thank you again Phil. It was great meeting you...have a good night."
Turning her head back again Rayne closes her eyes again the sleep taking over. Though a smile was still on her lips. A bad situation was turned into a good one after all. God was good indeed!
Once inside with Justin again Beth seemed to ease up a little bit. Most of the nerves seemed to go away, and she was able to relax a little. Spending some time talking with Justin really had helped too. Knowing just a little bit more about his life was nice.
Finally Justin was able to go home and Beth had no problem driving him just happy he would be ok. Helping him back to the car Beth takes it slow knowing he was still a little uneasy on his feet.
It takes no time getting back to his truck almost feeling shorter going back than it had been coming. The ride was pretty quiet but Beth didn't mind she was use to the silence and it didn't frighten her.
Pulling into the parking lot and pulling up next Justin's truck Beth parks the car. Sitting there for a moment and thinking about Justin's question Beth didn't know. She'd spend the day with Justin in the hospital and it had been nice but Beth didn't feel right going to lunch with him.
"Oh, thank you for the offer Justin its very nice of you but it was no trouble at all you don't have to repay me. I was thinking since I was here again anyways I'd go in and see Sarah again. It would probably be nice for her to see me again in one day."
Drumming her fingers on the staring wheel for a moment before turning to Justin to look him in the eyes for a long moment.
"It's gonna be strange not seeing you here tomorrow, but you need to take care of yourself."

A week?
In the few moments that Rayne speaks, Phil feels quite the contrast of emotions. Hearing that her life had been changed quite possibly because of JetStream was a stark reminder of how the small band had the power, through God, to touch lives they might never even know about. To have Rayne say the things she did now was a blessing, and one that made Phil grateful he had come to see her. He treasured her words and made a mental note to tell the others later so they could experience the blessing as well. JetStream was still worth the work.
Then hearing about Rayne's family, Phil's emotions plummet to sympathy and almost sorrow. He and his siblings had been raised in such a loving family that would never disown them, that it was hard for him to fathom parents who wouldn't even care about their daughter anymore. Rayne seemed to have such a sweet spirit about her - how could someone turn their back on that? It wasn't right, and Phil felt badly that it seemed she really did have no one else who would visit her, let alone help her back on her feet after this accident.
He wanted to say he was sorry about her family, but he holds back. Rayne would probably rather move on than dwell on that subject. So instead, he smiles again. "You're welcome."
Cocking his head, he just watches her for a few moments in silence before speaking again. "The nurse will probably come looking for me if I don't let you rest some more. I'm glad you're going to be okay, Rayne." Was this goodbye? It seemed almost sad, even though their meeting had been so brief. But while brief, the evening had been imprinted on their minds forever, and it was hard to simply walk away from something like that.
"Next time you come see a concert, come on backstage and I'll introduce you to the others."
"Nah... I'm not really the one Scott's mad at." Justin leans his head back and closes his eyes again. "Besides, he didn't mean for me to hit my head. A split lip was as bad as his intentions were... he doesn't have a violent nature."
Falling silent, Justin knew he shouldn't have even said that much. Beth not only knew Scott's name, but now knew more about him and Justin could get into trouble for telling her just that much. He figured he could trust her though, so he had no worry.
Arriving at the hospital, Justin was going to resist the wheelchair, but he opts not to argue as he realizes how unsteady on his feet he still was. Getting to the door though with Beth stopping, he looks up at her, squinting a little. He might have been a bit out of it, but he was still lucid enough to see the fear flash in her eyes and hear the discomfort in her voice. Justin's questions about her background rose again, but he doesn't voice them. Instead, he simply nods.
"Yeah, I'm fine. See you inside." Watching her walk away, he's just about ready to get on his own feet when an orderly comes out to help him inside. Resistance really was futile, so he remains seated and begins the agonizing explanations, waiting, more explanations, testing and more waiting. It felt a bit strange having Beth there with him. But she did help pass the time during the waiting periods. Justin winds up filling some of the time with small talk. He could still see discomfort in her eyes, and while trying to concentrate on his own state, he found himself also trying to make her feel more at ease. He tells her of his dogs, about some of his odd jobs and about his mother who had made the sandwiches from the other day.
Meds help his nausea and his headache, and it's confirmed that he did receive a concussion. The doctor theorizes that he must have just hit his head the right way to cause that much damage from such a short fall, though he was confident that rest and a few meds would have Justin back up and running.
"A week?" Justin sits on the table, wincing as he's given a shot. "I can't not work for a week."
The doctor sighs. "That is my recommendation. I can't force you. But any extra movement or heavy work could just prove to worsen your condition. I want you to fill this prescription - it will help with the pain and it will keep down any swelling."
Justin shrugs lamely. "Yeah, alright." He was already feeling better from whatever it was they'd given him. It seemed silly to have to be off work more than a day or two. "Thanks."
Finally being released, Justin hated it that so much time had passed. He'd had things he needed to do today that were now gone down the drain. Walking slowly to Beth's car, he's careful, but not as wobbly as when they'd come. Grateful for a ride back to Brookshire, he slides back into the passenger seat once again.
Glancing over to Beth, he wishes he could show his gratitude somehow. "So.... since I don't have any chicken salad sandwiches on me today... would you at least let me buy you a late lunch for taking all this time out of your day?"
Then hearing about Rayne's family, Phil's emotions plummet to sympathy and almost sorrow. He and his siblings had been raised in such a loving family that would never disown them, that it was hard for him to fathom parents who wouldn't even care about their daughter anymore. Common
Rayne doesn't take her eyes from Phil as he enters the room and sits down. Giving a chuckle at his comment about the band Rayne moves her head a little as in giving a small nod.
"I've been almost all of your concerts. Listing to your songs, and listing to you guys talk about God it was one of the reasons I recently became a Christan."
Taking in a deep breath Rayne looks away from Phil for a moment as she winces in a little pain but recovers quickly before looking back at him. Thinking about his offer for a moment Rayne new there were people he could call but she didn't know if any of them would really care.
Enter text here. "No, I don't think so. It would be very expensive for you to make a wasted call. I doubt my parents would come from Kamchatka to make sure I was ok, or even care to be honest. They weren't to happy when I decided to move to the US. They pretty much disowned me. Thank you though its very kind of you to ask."
It was very kind of Phil to ask about calling and she did appreciate it. Just having someone sitting there was nice, and chatting with him felt nice too. Rayne wasn't sure why she felt so comfortable with Phil maybe it was because they sheared a common faith.
Getting into the car and heading out of the parking lot Beth found it a bit strange to have someone riding with her. It had been a long time since another person had been in the passenger side with her let alone ever.
Hearing Justin's comment though about not being sure if he was grateful or not makes her smirk just a little and shake her head.
"Nothing to be embarrassed about and your welcome, I had nothing else going on today really."
Continuing to drive Beth falls silent again listen to Justin continue to talk. Hearing what he had to say she understood a little better why he didn't want to see anyone there. Keep Scott from getting into trouble was pretty noble of him.
"Thats nice of you not to get Scott in trouble, just watch out I guess. If he did this who knows what would happen if he really got mad ya know? As for them checking your brain and not letting you out....that is a possibility."
Not taking to long to get to the hospital Beth pulls up to the front door of the emergency room and is happy to see a wheel chair sitting on the outside by the doors. Getting the car in park Beth hopes out and goes to grab the chair before coming back to Justin's side.
Getting him situated in the chair Beth starts to push him twords the door. Before going inside Beth hesitates for a moment. She hadnt been inside a hospitle like this in a long time. Just eyeing the doors for a long moment. Looking down at Justin she trys to smile.
"I...I think I need to move my car. Can you make it the rest of the way inside? Once I park...I'll come...in to wait with you."

Just like me
Justin really isn't sure about this whole thing, and his ind seemed to be just a tad lethargic on top of it. Watching Beth walk away, he makes no move to follow until she's come back for him. Whether he wanted to or not, he had to lean on her just a little as his dizziness persists. Not to mention, it didn't look like he had much of a choice in this matter.
Hearing her reprimand, Justin's eyebrows shoot up. "Holy crap, you sound just like me." He smirks a little. "You don't leave much for argument, do you?"
Arriving to her car, he eases down into the passenger seat, managing to at least buckle himself in. As they start forward, he leans his head back and closes his eyes - the only way it seemed he could get a handle on his dizziness and not be so nauseous.
"Sorry about this," he mentions. "I'm not sure whether to be more grateful or embarrassed, but I think I'm both."
Glancing out the corner of his eye, he studies Beth for a moment as she drives. "I didn't want someone at Brookshire to treat me because I don't want them to put any more restraints on my client. It would only make things worse, but they wouldn't understand. So to help him, I can't have a report written up." He pauses, managing a wry grin. "And I figure if they get a look at my brain, they might want to keep me."
Seeing Rayne turn her head and hearing her words, a soft smile appears on Phil's face. He didn't feel like a hero, but being called one had a warm feeling attached to it. Her accent surprises him, but he finds it rather nice to listen to.
Sensing it was allowable for him to enter, Phil moves into the room slowly, easing down into the chair that was a couple feet from the bed. A light chuckle surfaces as she mentions JetStream. "I'm impressed. Most people have never heard of us, let alone recognize us." He nods to confirm that yes, she was right. "My name is Phil... Phil Mitts. They tell me your name is Rayne." He smiles again. "They also tell me you're going to be all right. Is there... anybody I can call to tell them you're here?" He knew the hospital would have already looked into that, but sometimes things like that got delayed and he didn't want that to happen if she had a family who might be worried about her. Her comment though, about having one visitor, made him wonder if perhaps she did not have anybody who would come.

Not a question
Crossing her arms over her stomach as Dr. Hawks and Justin talk Beth's eyes going back and forth between them as they talked. She felt sick herself knowing something was wrong with Justin was the serous and yes he would not see anyone about it. But staying off to the side Beth says nothing as it wasn't her place.
Hearing Dr. Hawks question Beth gives a small nod of her head. She has nothing else to do till about later tonight when she went to work anyways.
"Yeah thats no problem. Come on Justin, I'll drive ya."
Starting to walk twords her car Beth stops turning to look at Justin again. Raising an eyebrow she shakes her head a little. Coming back over to him she throws his arm over her shoulder as she trys to help him walk stably.
"It wasn't a question I'm taking you and if you don't come than I wont ever talk to you again. I don't like associating with people who know they need help and wont get it."
Beth new her voice was maybe a little more rough than normal but its how she felt. Since her parents died she didn't take kindly to people who needed medical help but refused to get it when the outcome of that action was death.
Slowly opening her eyes Rayne could feel someone watching her though she doesn't look twords the door right away. Letting her eyes get use to the dimly lit room she still felt groggy and like she had been run over by a truck.
Finally moving her head slowly to the side twords the door her eyes catch Phil. She didn't know who he was but she remembered his face as he pulled her from her car. He has saved her life, and that was something she would be thankful for always.
Giving a little smile to Phil Rayne's voice was soft, but loud enough he could hear her as he stood by the door. A Russian accent accompany her words as she spoke.
"My hero, thank you for taking the time to stop and get me out of the car, and for coming to make sure I was ok. It's nice to know I got at least one visitor."
Rayne's eyes weren't sad with her comment only tired from everything she had been though along with the twinkle that she really was thankful Phil had saved her. It was a good feeling to know that there were still come people out there willing to help others.
"Mmm...I guess...that explains why your singing voice is so good too. Your from Jetstream...aren't you?"

Maybe he'll listen
Rayne. Phil kind of thought that fit the delicate face he'd seen. And it sounded like she would be okay. That was a relief. "Thank you." He knew the nurse wasn't supposed to have given him that much information, so he appreciated it all the more. Her comment about his brother makes him chuckle. It had been a long time since Kyle had been around here, but he'd left quite the impression... seemed he did wherever he went.
"Don't worry... I think Kyle got all of the hyperactive genes in the family." Clipping the visitor badge to his shirt, he nods. "I won't be long."
Heading down the hall, he finds his way to the room the nurse had indicated. The door was halfway open so he enters just partway, seeing that Rayne's eyes were closed. She appeared to be sleeping and he didn't want to disturb her. Hooking his thumbs in his jeans pockets, he leans on the door frame and just watches her for several minutes. The night was over, and it had turned out alright, but he knew he might experience a nightmare or two tonight. Now that his adrenaline was settled down, his mind began to process just how serious the roadside situation had been. What if the car had exploded before he'd gotten the girl out? What if he'd been helping her as it had? She could have died. They both could have died. But God had been watching over them. That brought a nice little slice of peace and comfort.
Phil lets his head rest against the door frame as he studies Rayne's quiet breathing. He wondered if she had anybody else to come see her. Family? A husband? Friends? At least she was safe now. His job was done.
But for some reason, he lingers just a few moments more.
Dr. Hawks looks up quickly as Beth enters his office, having just been ready to respond and surprised she had come without him beckoning. He knew who she was though, and was not upset, especially when hearing why she had come.
"Oh, my." Standing in a hurry, he follows her out of the office. "He said he hit his head on a bench?" That in itself confused him, but it would be better just to see Justin himself. Who knew what had happened.
Arriving in the parking lot, Dr. Hawks recognizes Justin's pickup and immediately goes to him. "Justin.... you all right?"
"Yeah, sure." Justin cringes a little, his face twice as pale as it had been just five minutes prior.
Dr. Hawks glances to Beth, then back to Justin skeptically. "You don't look it."
"You wouldn't look so hot if you'd just thrown up either."
Dr. Hawks' worry increased and he steps closer, looking at Justin's eyes. "What are your other symptoms?"
"I dunno... I got a killer headache and I'm kinda dizzy."
"Beth said you hit a bench."
"Mm-hmm."
Dr. Hawks points to his lip. "Did the bench do that too?"
Justin grits his teeth. He would not turn Scott in. "Could be."
"Justin, if Scott-"
"I'm handling it."
Dr. Hawks sighs. "Well at the very least, I'd say Beth is right. I think you've got a concussion. In which case, I want you to come with me right now and see Doctor Brentwood."
"No way. All I want..." Justin stops, putting an arm around himself as his gut twists again. Stumbling around the side of his pickup, he throws up again, his head feeling as if it had just gotten whacked with a sledgehammer.
Dr. Hawks goes to him, guiding him back to the tailgate. "You need medical help, Justin. Please. As your uncle, I'm asking you to come inside."
Justin didn't want to. Not only did he not trust Brentwood, but if treated here, it would come out that this was Scott's fault, and he did not want that. "No."
Dr. Hawks throws up his hands. "I give up. I'm calling an ambulance then and have you taken to the hospital."
"Nuh-uh. I'll drive myself. I'll be fine."
Dr. Hawks, looks over to Beth, apology in his eyes. "I'm sorry... would you be willing to drive him to the hospital? Maybe he'll listen to you more than me."
"Don't worry... I think Kyle got all of the hyperactive genes in the family." Clipping the visitor badge to his shirt, he nods. "I won't be long."

Handle
Looking up from the desk at Phil the nurse gives him a sweet smile. She'd seen Phil in here before and new the charity work he and the band did for the hospital. So in a way the woman didn't mind doing a favor for him this once.
"Good to see you again Phil. The woman brought in's name is Rayne Sidorov. She is stable right now though will be held here for a few days so we can observe her. The accident was bad, and she is lucky she's not dead. God certainly had his hands wrapped around her."
Looking down at Rayne's chart for a moment the nurse thinks. She new she could get in trouble but several times they had tried to get a hold some how of Rayne's family but alas had not been able to and on one came to see the girl.
"She's down in room thirty-four A if you'd like to go see her. No one else has come yet. Just try not to upset her, and don't make to much noise like that brother of yours."
The nurse continues to smile sweetly as she hands Phil a badge to hold onto that said visitor. It would keep anyone from asking questions on why he was here, knowing he had already checked in.
Laying quiet in the bed Rayne moved in and out of sleep, the beeps of differnt equipment to monitor her was the only sound. A large graws bandage was placed in the right hand courner of her head hiding the thirteen stitches she had received. Her right eye was black and blue a little more proof to the puzzle that, that side of her face had more than likely taken the brunt of the hit, a cast was on her left arm as well from the elbow down to her fingers, a broken wrist the damage there. More cuts, and bruises were on other random placed on her body but nothing to major.
Watching Justin as he sat up Beth squinted her eyes a little at him. His eyes held a certain gloss to them, and they moved even though he wasn't making them. It was the first sigh that he was dizzier than he let on.
Seeing Justin's legs almost buckle under him Beth steps around to the tailgate and takes a hold of Justin's arm trying to help support him.
"Whoa, whoa...Your ok my foot. Sit back down."
Her voice was stern but it showed how she was concerned for him. The last thing she wanted was him to try and drive, than maybe have something worse happen to him.
"Yes because me telling your I am taking you, is you making me. I don't think it works like that, but suit yourself. I'll go get Dr. Hawks."
Turning from the truck and heading back inside again Beth made her way to Dr. Hawks office and gives a knock on the door before entering. She new it was wrong to just go in but this was bad and something might have been wrong.
"Dr. Hawk's I am sorry to just barge in like this put you have to come outside with me. Justin said he hit his head on a bench, and he's real dizzy. But it was about an hour and a half ago. He might have a concussion or something."
Beth new that maybe she was over reacting a little bit but she couldn't help it. Since everything happened with her own parents she never handled death well or the thought that someone might die from something.
