Soup

Scarlet's grin grows even more as she can hear the whistle from the bay area soon to be shut off by the closing door. Looking up at Eli her eyes twinkle as she leans slightly on the counter. It had been almost two maybe three days since there last in counter, and though that really wasn't long it felt like it had been.

"I'd like it, and feel much more comfortable having your drive me home. Not to mention catch up a little about the last few days. Only place I need to go is home, unless you have time for lunch too."

Sitting up from the counter finally Scarlet holds her keys to her bike out to Eli dropping them in his hand. It was not often she'd let someone else touch her bike but she new it was in good hands here.

"So, how are you? They aren't harassing you to much are they?"

Mmmm...a trip to the park afterward sounds like a great plan. Work off a little lunch.

Giving a small laugh Katie shook her head a little. She'd never tire of her communication with Jason. She was only happy they had learned to live with it. They weren't normal, but she liked it that way and it made them have a special bond.

Than again, anything as long as its with you sounds good as well. Maybe on our way back to work we cans stop by and see Carson. I haven't really seen him since Misty and himself got back from there honeymoon. I want to know how everything went for him.

Putting the book down she was reading and turning the stove off Cassy stirs the chicken and rice soup giving it a little taste. Oh it turned out so good this time around, she was certin Leo would love it and it would help him feel better.

Getting a big plastic bowl out Cassy pours the soup into it before reaching into the cupboard for some crackers and tea bags. Leo hadnt called her back and she was a little worried. He has sounded so bad on the phone if anything she just wanted to make sure he was ok.

...Giving a knock on the door and not getting an answer Cassy checks the nob feeling it was unlocked she opened the door and stepped inside.

"Leo...its Cassy."

Stepping in more not getting an answer Cassy closes the door behind her before finding her way to the kitchen. It was a cute little apartment, and easy to find ones way around Cassy liked it.

Setting the soup and tea down along with the keys Cassy does a little more investigating before finding her way to Leo's room. Feeling a little strange she didn't want to scare the crap out of him, but she did want to make sure he was ok. Givinging a knock on the door she opens it a little as if testing make sure he was decent.

"Leo, its Cassy your front door was open and I was just checking to make sure you were ok. I brought you some homemade chicken noodle soup."

Opening the door a little more and stepping in a little closer to the bed Cassy was a little leery not sure what Leo might think but waiting to see if she got a reply from him.

Girlfriend

Alright. I might give Carson a call to see if he'll have Mom and Pop's open late that night. If he says yes, we can probably have the place to ourselves.

A grin spreads on Jason's face as he feels Katie tugging on his warm emotions. She'd gotten awfully good at it, and it was hard to get in a bad mood anymore when she was around.

What? You think I'd say no to lunch? I am so there. As long as we can go to the park afterward... Trooper needs a good walk and your company would be perfect.

The little ringing bell could be heard through the open door to the garage and all the guys look up expectantly. Somehow, Eli's phone call wasn't a secret, nor was his date or not-date the other night. No one knew what had happened since he was remaining obnoxiously close-mouthed about it. Today, however, they all knew Scarlet was here, and hearing the bell, they knew it had to be her.

As Eli heads for the door, several of the guys whistle, one of whom was Tal himself, who had probably started most of the razzing, though it couldn't be proven. Eli turns around and walks backward toward the door, throwing them all an annoyed look. "Behave," he chides. "Customer."

"Girlfriend," someone tries to correct.

Eli points a warning finger at him. "Customer. Get back to work." Sliding into the waiting area, he shuts the door behind him to cut off another loud whistle. Seeing Scarlet, he offers her a grin. "That was quick."

Ambling to the desk, he makes a note of the time of arrival. "Okay... it should be a couple days - someone will call you when it's finished... in the meantime you can leave your keys here and... we can give you a ride to where you need to go next."

His eyes come back up from the paperwork to meet Scarlet's gaze. Their evening watching fireworks seemed like ages ago, even though it had only been a few days. For now, Eli's business tone is set aside. "I actually have time to give you a ride. It'd give me a chance to ask how you are as a friend instead of a customer."

Leo doesn't get out of bed for several hours, drifting in and out of sleep. Battling his fever, he winds up taking something for it, but all it does is make him sick to his stomach and throw up, so he stays in bed, hoping it will just wear off. His phone rings at least three times but he just lets it go, not feeling like answering it. At this point, he didn't care that he needed to clean his apartment or even go lock his front door... all he wanted was sleep, and even that was hard to come by.

Sounds great

Leaning back in her chair at her cubicle Katie's eyes were closed for the moment as she leaned back in her chair. This new ability that had come up was a little on the rough side. Katie hated feeling like she was ease dropping but with this there really was no way not to.

Of course I don't mind you know that. If its something for the band you better believe I'll make room if I have too. I've missed the Jetstream concerts.

It had been a little while since the last concert and Katie really did miss it. It was a nice time to get out and be with there other friends. Enjoying the music and making sure everything went smooth it was Katie's little get away.

Ohhh...Pizza afterward sounds great too. I miss hanging out with everyone. It should be a real nice time like always.

Opening her eyes again Katie pulls on a few different emotions from Jason, Happy, excited, and the warmth of her love. Taking her pen and starting to jot a few things down giving a smile even though Jason couldn't see it she new he would feel it.

Want to do lunch?

Leaning back in the chair on her porch Scarlet holds a manella folder that held papers inside. Hearing her phone go off she found it a bit odd anyone would be calling her at this time of day. Not knowing the number she though it best to answer it anyways.

"Hello?"

Hearing Eli's voice on the other end an instant smile forms on Scarlet's face. Eli hadn't called her as soon as she thought and this might be a business call but he was calling her non the less.

Closing the folder in her lap Scarlet sits up in her chair leaning forward a little. Quiet for a moment as she thought about some different things she had to get done. She had her car so she should be ok for the most part.

"Yeah I can bring it in no problem, than if I can get a ride later back to my place that would be great. I'll be over in a few."

Hanging up the phone Scarlet takes the folder she had been looking at and throws it down on the table. Grabbing her bike keys and throwing her leather jacket on she was off once more.

Not taking to long to get to the shop Scarlet had been lucky and had hit very few red lights. Pulling into the parking lot she wasn't sure where Eli would want her to park the bike so for now here was fine.

Entering the shop her boots make a light clicking sound on he floor as she makes her way over to the counter. Not seeing anyone she spots the bell and hits it a few times. Today her hair was pulled back nicely in a pony tail though curls could still be seen coming out the end of it.

Taking Leo's phone call Cassy wanted to interrupted a few times but stops being able to tell he really wasn't feeling all that well. She felt bad that he felt so bad, he should stay in bed and get some rest. She'd bring his car over to him and walk home, it would be a long one but one she wouldn't mind at all.

"Leo.."

About to tell him she would bring it over Cassy stops hearing the loud crash of the phone stopping and than the line going dead. Holding the phone she just blinks for a long moment almost stunned. Maybe he did it not by mistake because he really didn't want to talk to her? No that couldn't be it.

Weighing her options on weather or not to bring his car over to him now or not Cassy just thinks. For now she should just let him get the rest he needed. She didn't want him to feel smothered. If she didn't hear anything from him later she would head over and maybe with a little chicken and rice soup for him.

Business call

By the time Cassy and Leo arrive at his apartment, his head is throbbing. He couldn't remember a time he'd been hit so quickly. A couple hours ago, he'd felt just fine.

"Mm-hmm." He nods groggily. "I'll be alright. I'll... call you in the morning or something about my car."

Opening the door, he pauses and turns to look at Cassy one last time. "Thanks... and sorry I got sick on ya. I'll see ya soon." Sliding out of the car, he shuts the door and gives a little wave, walking slowly up the walk to his apartment. Fumbling for his keys, he finally gets inside and heads straight for his room, ignoring his answering machine and that days mail, along with forgetting to lock the door again. Once in his bedroom, he eases down on the bed, kicking off his shoes and just pulling a blanket over himself, not bothering to get out of his clothes. All he had to do was sleep this off... just... sleep it off...

Once morning comes though, the bug hadn't worn off. Leo hadn't been able to sleep half the night, tossing and turning, first hot, then cold, then hot, then chilled. A fever wasn't helping matters, and by the time his clock is showing 7:00, his head was still pounding. This was all he needed right now, on top of everything else.

Blowing his nose for the umpteenth time, he manages to pry himself from bed. He just had to get up and moving, that was all. Just get up... moving. He sinks back down to sit and stare at the floor. There was no way he could go to work today.

Grabbing a pair of comfortable pants, he finally gets out of his jeans from the night before, and manages to find a clean, baggy t-shirt. He shuffles down the hall in his bare feet to the kitchen phone and after dialing, he just closes his eyes and leans his head on the wall. "Darrel? Leo. Not coming in today."

"You sound terrible."

"Thanks."

"Alright, we'll make do. Take care of yourself."

"Uh-huh." Hanging up, Leo turns to go back to bed, but then stops, cringing. Cassy. His car. Putting a hand to his head to try and stop the dizziness, he picks the phone back up. After misdialing twice, he finally gets it right and waits for her to answer. "Ummm, Cassy?" His voice was a mix of scratchy and stuffed up. "It's Leo, um... don't worry about my car today, okay?" He leans against the wall again, just wanting his pillow. He wasn't in any shape to drive her back home after she brought his car, and he didn't want her to have to worry about it. "I'll, um... figure it out... tomorrow... or something."

He wasn't even sure if he was making sense. "I'll... talk to ya later." Turning around, his hand loses its grip on the phone and he fumbles with it a moment before it clatters to the floor. Groaning, he reaches down to pick it up, only to find that it had ended the call. Oh, well. Cassy knew not to come. There really wasn't any point in calling her back.

Putting the phone back, he trudges back down the hall and flops into bed again.

"Yeah, that Sanders guy canceled both his vehicles, and Greg Yardson postponed the work on his car 'cause of insurance or something."

Eli rolls his eyes. "So we've gone from swamped to having nothing to do."

"Well... not nothing." Tal grins. "But almost. Gary already took the day off."

"Psh." Eli wipes his hands on a rag. "I'm not taking off. I can find something to fill my time."

Tal cocks his head with a sly glint in his eye. "You mean like... bumping up another customer?"

Eli snaps his rag against Tal's arm. "Maybe. You just go take care of that Corvette you're working on." Grinning, he turns and heads to the office to make the call. Sandy was out for a while, so he assumes to chair behind the desk and rolls over to the phone. Flipping through their record book, he finds the right number and dials, waiting. "Yeah, Scarlet? This is Eli McKade." He didn't want to seem cool towards her, but this was a business call. "Got an opening and wondered if you wanted to bring your bike in a few days early, if you can spare it for a couple days. The shop will supply you with a ride back home or whatever if you need it."

Gig coming up.

Jason's thoughts stop.

But... you knew that already, didn't you?

He'd just gotten off the phone with Jen about JetStream's next engagement to play at a spring fundraiser. The profit wouldn't be big, but the band never minded, as long as the rest of the money was going to a good cause.

It had taken a while, but Jason had finally figured out that Katie was hearing much of what he was lately. He wasn't sure when it had started or what was causing it, but he had yet to figure out how to control it. It was like he was a walking microphone, sometimes, but not all the time. He needed to figure out how to stop it, but needed more time to work on it. It could come in handy while working in the field but... when it came to everyday conversations, Jason found it to be somewhat annoying. He'd already emailed his mom once instead of calling her because he'd wanted privacy. He'd tried to keep his annoyance from Katie though, knowing that she couldn't help it. She could cut him off, but that would be painful, every time he just didn't want her to hear something.

Anyway... I hope you don't mind I gave the okay on that date - didn't think you were busy that night.

He swivels in his chair and stands up to rummage through his filing drawer, looking for something for Susanne.

I was thinking about suggesting pizza afterward like we used to do. How's that sound?
