Like fun

Destiny gives a laugh at Chance's comment not being able to help it. At least he new now that there was no point skidding around anything with her because she would know anyways.

Looking at his out stretched hand for a moment Destiny than looks back up into Chance's eyes. Her hand meting his and giving it a firm shake and a smile.

"Deal, I think I can handle that. You help me, I help you. Sounds like fun!"

Letting go of his hand and giving a deep sigh like the air had been cleared again Destiny scans the area before looking back at Chance again. She hadn't said it but she was starting to get a little hungry.

"Alright how about we have our shopping extravaganza now?!"

Taking the keys out of the ignition Ryan holds them for a long moment now turning her head to look at Alec. She could see the confusion on his face and the slight bit of pain in his eyes. She felt so bad for him that he was dealing with this conflicting but she wasn't sure how to help other than offer encouraging words to him.

"Jason and Reese can think what they want, in that business there is a fine line between murder, and self defense and if they are so quick to accuse you than they should accuse themselves too. When someone is coming at you with a gun there is no time to stop and think, auction has to be taken before its to late."

Jingling her keys a little bit Ryan continues to look Alec in the eye. What she said was not because she had a thing for cops but because it really was the truth. There was a find line and she was sure many had crossed it in one form or another.

Reaching out Ryan runs a finger down the side of Alec's face, softly just running over his cheekbone.

"This bothers you so much more because now you know your life has changed, and your trying your darnedest to do whats wrong. So in killing this man you think your slipping when your not. And what makes this different from when you killed before...is now you care enough to feel bad."

Don't understand

Chance cracks a new smile at Destiny. "If I need you to play along, I'll let you know. Or... change that... you'll probably know already without me having to tell you." He laughs a little, still a bit sheepishly.

As she pats his leg and apologizes, he shakes his head. "Naw... I like your bold mouth. It's... what gives you that edge, ya know?" He grins at her. "We're going to be invading a lot of each others' spaces for a while, so I think we better get used to it. I'll go easy on you, if you go easy on me."

Holding out his hand, he offers to shake on it.

Alec tries to shrug the whole thing off, even when Ryan speaks, but it doesn't work very well. Whether he liked it or not, these mixed feelings really did exist. She was the only one who would see him like this though. He'd lost his cocky air and his devilish glint. But only around her. She was the only one he trusted to see what was really going on inside of him.

Once they're to their destination, Alec takes a look around. It looked like a pleasant place on a little lake. Different. He liked different.

Turning in his seat almost sideways, he leans his head on the headrest and just studies Ryan for several moments. She didn't think any differently of him just because he'd killed somebody. For that, he was grateful.

"Jason doesn't think it was self-defense," he admits. "And he's got Reese convinced of that now too." He shrugs. "Maybe they're right. It just... happened so fast. I saw the look in Drew's eye... Jason wanted to take him in for questioning but I knew the guy too well... he would have died with his secrets rather than share with the Elite. Rotten to the core, that one. I wouldn't have felt guilty or anything 'cept for Jason coming after me. Kinda made me think about it I guess."

He looks in Ryan's eyes, almost like a lost little boy looking for reassurance. It was rare behavior on his part. "I used to kill without blinking, Ry... I don't understand why this is bothering me so much."

Good Looking Woman

Continuing to drive Ryan keeps her eyes on the road but hearing Alec killed someone She turns her head to look at him for a moment. Not out of shock or anger but more worried, worry for him and how he might be feeling right now.

Looking back to the Ryan listens to the rest of Alec's explanation before she jumped to any conclusion. Understanding a little more her look becomes soft knowing a lot of things must be going on inside of Alec. This defiantly had to be something he was not use to.

"I bet it feels a lot different killing and having a contentious now, but I guess you have to look at it this way too. If you hadn't of killed him, he probably would of killed you and hurt that girl you guys were with too."

Ryan new her words might not mean much but she hoped it would bring some kind of comfort to Alec. It was different seeing hi like this, down and out.

Coming to a fourway intersection Ryan takes a left following the signs that point to the small beach. It was nothing big like the other beaches around the area but it was quiet and had a little hot dog and hamburger cart there along with a few other things she liked eating at.

Pulling into the parking lot Ryan parks the car but doesn't get out yet. Still sitting there silent for a moment she turns to Alec a little to look at him.

"I can't say I know how you feel because I don't, But I do believe that feeling your having it normal and a few other people at the Elite probably get it too. It dosnt make it wrong what you did because there is a big difference, you were saving yourself and someone else this time."

Once finished with the lawyer Destiny was happy at least one apointment was down. It was just one less she would have to go to yet there will still to many to come. Getting back into the car and riding to the store the journey is quiet but she doesn't mind to much. Though on the outside it didnt look like it bothered her on the inside she was still broken apart about her parents and just going to the lawyer set everything in motions in admitting they were really gone.

After getting to the store and about to get out Destiny stops as Chance asks her to wait. Not sure why it didnt seem like he had spotted anyone that might be trouble so she looks to him with a little confusion.

Listing to everything Chance said Destiny gave a little nod of understanding. Now she saw why he might have lied to her and understood a little better on what was going on. Giving a smile she turns a little more to face Chance, her words were sensear.

"Like I said before anything thats said between you and me will stay here...So you don't have to worry about Reese finding out. Anyways if anyone asks you can just tell them I'm your good looking woman you happen to see every now and than. I think I can play along with that..after all we are living together for a little bit."

Destiny gives Chance a little wink as she reaches over to give his leg a little pat. She wasn't upset, she no longer was confused, and she couldn't help but envie him a little for his under cover work. It sounded like fun.

"I guess I am sorry too. I've got a bold mouth on me that can get me into trouble, and I use what my dad taught me all to well sometimes. So I am sorry if I invaded you space."

Undercover

"Huh?" Alec is brought from his wandering train of thought as Ryan speaks to him. "Oh... yeah... yeah, everything's fine."

His head falls back to resting against the window as he tries to figure out what he was feeling. It wasn't something he recognized. Ever since he started seeing Ryan, he'd encountered all sorts of feelings that seemed foreign to him... or at least that had been buried under a callous surface.

Watching the scenery zoom by, not even the speed seemed to thrill him today. He hadn't heard everything Ryan had talked about either, though he wasn't about to tell her that.

"I guess... it never bothered me... killing a man... until yesterday."

He hadn't told Ryan about what had happened at Destiny's apartment. As far as she knew, Reese was just being stubborn and hadn't let Alec out last night.

Turning his head, Alec manages a crooked grin. "Yeah... had a good ol' showdown yesterday at this girl's house - apparently she's got the Agency after her. And I... shot a guy I actually worked with once." He points an imaginary gun at the dashboard and fires. "First time I ever questioned myself after a kill."

Chance is about to come back with an argument about accusations and respect when Destiny seems to drop the whole thing, taking his arm and starting for the building.

"Bu- wha- you...." Smirking a little, Chance shakes his head and follows along with her. "You're something else, you know that?"

Glancing both ways, he lets her take the lead into the building. "And I'm the one that wound up with you."

The visit takes a little while, and Chance keeps a close eye on everything, not minding having to wait for Destiny. It gave him some time to think, and by the time they were back in the car, he'd become a little quieter than normal. Avoiding too much conversation, he asks the way to the grocery store since Reese hadn't called him back in. This was his assignment, and he'd take the initiative to get things rolling. They needed to get moved into the safe house, and he wanted to get Destiny settled as soon as possible so she at least had some stability.

Parking in the lot of the grocery store, Chance shuts off the engine and unbuckles his seatbelt, but doesn't yet move to exit. Pulling the keys off, he looks at them for a moment before glancing to Destiny. "Hey... hang on a sec, okay? I want to apologize about... well, about earlier. I, um... I was embarrassed you were too quick for me. Saw right through me." He gives her a brief, sheepish grin. "Uh, so yeah. It wasn't a salesman that I talked to on the phone, and you had every right to call me on that."

Pursing his lips, he thinks for a moment, fiddling with the car keys. "I...I want to tell you about me because I want you to trust me. But it's big for me because that means I gotta trust you with something awfully important too." Turning to look at her, his eyes held a seriousness in them. "See, I got called up here to be your bodyguard, but Toby - that's my boss - had me on an undercover case a couple months back. And... I've still got those connections. I'm not supposed to be some Elite agent in Nevada. As far as the other guy knows, I'm still a gambler in Arizona."

Sighing, Chance leans back in his seat. "I gotta keep up my cover, or I'm a dead man too. Not even Reese knows about it because it's such a hot case. All I gotta do is lay low while I'm here, then when this is all over, high-tail it back to Arizona and pick up where I left off so we can nab those scumbags and finally close the case."

He turns to look at Destiny again. "That's why I lied about the call. I didn't want it to get back to Reese and risk exposing my position. But... I see now I gotta trust you." A wry grin emerges. "'Cause you're too smart for me."

Speed

Destiny continues to watch Chance the wonder still there on why he would continue to lie. He could of simply left it at what was said and moved on but he hadn't. He now was continuing a lie with a lie. Had she done something to make him think he needed too?

"Well than next time just tell me its non of my business. As for spreading around that your a lie, thats something I wont do. What we talk about together stays between us."

Looking down at the cell phone that was stretched out to her it would be easy for Destiny to dial the number back and see who was on the other line but that its itself was to much work.

"I'm not just a dumb blond Chance, my father trained me in enough that if the Agency even came calling I could work for them and not die because I was of no use. Yeah that plan backfired and now they want to kill me anyways but I'm smarter than I look. So put you phone away, I'm not calling anyone because personal I don't care. I just think I deserve more respect than to be lied too."

Searching Chance's face again she new he was irritated but she was nether upset or disappointed only trying to get her point across to him. It really wasnt any of her business what he was doing but she had show entrust in trying to get to know him better. If he wanted that than so be it but what was the point of lieing.

"Come on lets head inside before we are late and they tell us to come back tomorrow. Its bad enough this is only one meeting out of several more I will need to go to. I dont wanna push it back anymore."

Giving a smile to Chance it was a symbol that even if he wore irritation on his face, she wasn't mad at him nore did she think differently of him. Linking her arm with his Destiny leads the way.

Getting into her car and pulling out of the auto shop Ryan it quiet for a long while before starting to babble about working and that cars, along with the race the day after tomorrow she wanted Alec to come to. Finally though she there is a pause in her conversation she realized Alec wasn't talking as much as normal.

"Hey, you seem far away in la la land today. Everything ok?"

Continuing to drive Ryan makes her way out of town and onto the dessert roads speeding up a little bit. She wanted something different today and since she had an hour give or take she was going to take the opportunity. It wouldn't take long to get where they were going not with her speed anyways.

Willing

"Alrighty..." Chance parks the car up by the curb and makes sure the sign is on the door. Putting his hand on the door handle to get out, Destiny's words take him completely off guard.

Turning and just staring at her, he blinks. How she'd realized he was lying, he didn't know. Toby would tell anybody that Chance was one of the best liars he knew - it was an unfortunate talent. But Chance must have not been watching his body language today. Destiny was sharp... sharper than he'd given her credit for.

Still silent and trying to think of what he could say, he watches Destiny get out and wait. If he wasn't supposed to be protecting her, he'd just tell her to go on in and he'd wait. Sighing, he gets out and slips the keys into his leather jacket pocket. Looking over the car at Destiny, he leans on the roof for a moment, searching her eyes. She didn't seem upset that he'd lied, but obviously didn't like it, or else she wouldn't have called him on it.

"Look, Destiny..." He runs his thumb along the shiny paint. "I don't know why you think I'd lie to you about anything, let alone a stupid phone call from an idiot salesman."

Cocking his head, he stares her in the eye, not angry, but irritated. Finally he moves around the car and steps up onto the sidewalk. "If I don't want you to know something, I'll tell you it's none of your business. I don't have a problem telling you that."

Chance reaches into his pocket and holds out his cell phone. "You wanna dial back and check my story? Go ahead. I don't have anything to hide. If there's one thing I don't want you spreading around is that I'm a liar. So go on... call."

He continues to look her in the eye. "You're right. We need to trust each other. So if it takes you checking up on me, then here... I'm willing."

Alec gives Ryan a sheepish look about the car, and follows her to her own vehicle. "I don't care where we go. I just wanted to get away from TJY."

Sliding into the passenger seat, he heaves a sigh, not realizing that he was signaling something wasn't sitting well with him. He knew what it was. It was yesterday's events. He hadn't realized that his fierce battle with Reese had more behind it than just routines and protocol... he wasn't used to analyzing his own feelings to recognize that much of it.

Staring out the window though, he's much quieter than normal, his mind far away.

Next Time

Getting Alec's return kiss Ryan welcomed it not caring who in the shop saw. She new things with Leo were still rough but she couldn't walk on eggshells ether though she would admit to herself if Leo had been there she wouldn't have done this.

As Alec pulls away the grin remains on Ryan's face. Turning slightly so she was standing more next to Alec than in front of him now so she would see the other guys she just rolls her eyes at them.

"You know Mile's if you payed more attachen to that car you were working on and not me, you might just beat me in a race once and a while."

The teasing tone was clear in Ryan's voice and she just couldn't help it. They all teased each other here and sometimes it was just easier than others.

Hearing her brother wanted to talk to Alec Ryan raises her eyebrow a little as the turn to walk out of the shop. She wasn't against her brother and Alec talking she only found it a bit strange. Brushing it off for now though she figured it was nothing.

Getting outside the shop Ryan stops once again looking around Alec at the shiny black car that was in the parking lot. She could tell it was an Elite car just from the looks of it. Looking back to Alec she smirks.

"Something tells me they didn't let you barrow that. Come on we'll take my car. Where would you like to go?"

Watching Chance as he talks Destiny takes in his face, his hand movements on the steering wheel and his eyes as he talked and drove at the same time. Something seemed off, she wasn't sure what but something.

Though she had never been active working with the Agency her father had taught her a few things so when the time came and they Agency wanted her, they could use her and not kill her because she was of no use.

He was lieing...though she wasn't sure what part or if it was everything she could tell he was lieing. Why would he lie to her though? After this was over she would probably never him again. Breaking her gaze from him for a moment Destiny looks at the surroundings finding the building they were looking for and making sure this was the right area.

"Yeah this is the right place. It's right over there. You can park outside the building just hang this in the window so if a cop comes by they know we are inside and don't need to pay the meter."

Waiting for Chance to pull up along side the curb and hand the paper from his mirror Destiny waits a moment before getting out of the car. Turning to Chance for a moment her eyes search his face.

"We are suppose be building trust, I trust you will protect me, and you trust that I wont cause you to much trouble. Next time you don't want to tell me something you can just say so...you don't have to lie, I wont be offended."

Opening the door Destiny get outs scanning the area herself. Getting up onto the sidewalk she turns and gives a small smile to Chance waiting for him to join her once again.

One of these days

Alec couldn't stop his own grin from forming on his face as Ryan approaches and he's pulled into her embrace. His arms automatically slip around her, one around her waist, the other over her back. He eyes her, a sly glint in his gaze.

Returning her kiss, he doesn't let go right away, just pulling her tight and enjoying the moment, ignoring the stares of the other guys in the shop. Alec wasn't so sure he'd ever admit it to anyone, but there was something about Ryan... she'd done something to him... something that no woman ever had... He had missed not seeing her the last couple days.

Finally pulling away, his smile returns and he gives her one last kiss on the lips, then one more on her forehead. "Well... I guess I'm lucky then that you'll take a break for me."

"You mean you two are actually gonna go to lunch?" Miles calls over to them. "Figured you'd just stand there and suck face all day long."

Alec doesn't miss a beat, cocking his head. "Mm.... it's tempting."

"No, please!" Ron waves his hands in the air. "Take it somewhere else!"

Alec chuckles. "Alright... but we might be a few minutes late getting back."

Miles smirks at them and is about to throw another comment, but he remembers something else. "Oh, Alec... Eli was here... forgot to tell Ryan too. He was looking for you. Might wanna call him or something."

"Oh... okay." Alec shrugs. He wasn't sure what Eli wanted, but he'd be happy to call him. "Thanks." His arm still around Ryan, he turns her towards the door. "We better get out of here before we don't have any time left." Winking at her, he aims for her car. "We also better take your wheels... I'm.... borrowing the car I got."

As Destiny asks about the salesman, Chance quirks an eyebrow. "You kidding me? What salesman is normal?" He shakes his head, keeping his eyes on the road as he grins. "This guy doesn't give up. He's selling a piece of land down in Arizona for a client of his. I showed some interest and bam... he's been after me ever since. Only way I can get him to shut up is to call him every now and then and let him send me specs he's put together."

Turning where he was supposed to, Chance doesn't miss a beat in directions or his conversation. "One of these days though, I'll have to tell him I'm not interested anymore. Can't afford it." He looks around at the buildings. "Did I turn at the right place?"

Exception

Following Leo to the door Cassy gives a slight nod. Some paint on the outside, a little pain on the inside setting a few more things up for sale and everything would be done. Cassy couldn't help but feel a little sad about that seeing as that meant much less time spent with Leo, but than again she'd have classes to fun so that would keep her busy.

"I look forward to your call. Have a good night Leo."

Standing at the door for a long moment watching Leo leave Cassy gives him a half wave before turning and shutting the door behind her. There were a few more things she needed to finish up here before heading home herself for a long night of nothing.

Getting into the car with Chance Destiny makes sure her seat belt was on before Chance pulled out of the driveway. Jumping at the sound of his phone Destiny felt foolish but she hadn't expected it.

Directing him on witch way to go Destiny can't help but semi listen in on his end of the conversation. It was strange and she could hardly understand what was going on from just hearing the one end. Once he is done Destiny points on what way to go next.

"Take a right here and than look for Jamison dr and take the right side of the Y intersection. Than you will look for the Martin & Hearting Law firm."

Falling silent again for a moment Destiny looking out the window till her curiosity couldn't take it anymore. Turning to look at Chance she study's him for a long moment before finally talking again.

"That salesmen didn't sound like a normal salesmen...what was he selling or what does he want that you have? Anything good?"

Really this was good conversation maybe she would learn a little about Chance since he new all about her but she nothing about him.

Bent over the car Ryan was lost in her own little world of work. This was the last car for her today and it was giving her the most problems. Better to have it be the last than to know there was more to come after it.

Hearing Alec's voice though breaks Ryan out of her trance as she turns her head to look at him slightly a grin forming on her lips. Looking back to the car quick and tighting something up Ryan speaks a little louder so Alec can hear her.

"Lunch break? Are you kidding me I don't know the mean of that word."

Finally finished tighting what she had been working on Ryan straightens up shutting the lid to the car. Leaning on the car and still holding her wrench she thinks for a moment her arms had spots of grease on them but she didn't care. Her eyes dancing with the same grin she wore on her lips the fire in them burning.

"But for you I think I can make an exception."

Taking a few steps twords Alec Ryan reaches out and grabbing him by the collar pulling him twords her. Wrapping her one arm around him and the other finding the back of his head Ryan grins even more as she looks up into his eyes. Pressing her lips to his she lets her passion go showing how even in only a few days she had missed him.

Don't call me

"Yeah... yeah, sure." Leo looks back up at Cassy, shoving all of his awkwardness aside. "I'd love to come, if you don't mind me being here." It wasn't so much that Leo was excited to watch a class, but Cassy had come so far he wanted to support her any way he could.

Wandering towards the exit, he uses his sleeve to wipe some sweat from his brow. "Thanks for the evening, Cass... I'll um..." He turns to look at her once more. "I'll call or something. Now that I got that trim done outside it needs to be painted and then you should be set to go."

Chance chuckles, cocking his head. "Cook for me, eh? That sounds like it could be fun."

Grinning, he nods to the door. "Well lets get your lawyer visit taken care of, then go from there. If I don't get yanked back to home base, we can go shopping, but you'll have to help me find where to go 'cause this is the first time I've been here."

Heading out the door, he sweeps the area with his eyes while Destiny joins him. Locking up again, he leads the way back to the car. Just as he's starting the engine, the cell phone in his pocket rings.

"Nice timing," he grumbles. Pulling it out to answer it, he goes ahead and backs out of the driveway and heads down the street. "Yeah? What ever happened to 'don't call me, I'll call you'?" He stops at an intersection and looks to Destiny, pointing either way to know which way to go while he remains on the phone. "Yes, I've got the stuff, but it's really not a great time to talk right now. Uh-huh... right. Genius. Yeah, I'm still on board, but cut me some slack here. I'll get back to you when I can. Don't push or I'm liable to push back." His tone had grown a bit irritated. "Just send me the list and I'll work on it."

Flipping the phone shut, he shakes his head as he stuffs it back in his pocket. "Salesmen... never know when to stop."

Coming into downtown, he quickly changes subjects. "Okay... now which way?"

"You walk out the door, so help me, you're not coming back!" Reese slams his file onto his desk as Alec turns his back and defies orders by leaving the office. "Alec Banks, get back here!"

Alec shoots anyone a glare as he heads from Reese's office. It was bad enough to have Jason on his case, now Reese was trying to give him a lecture about thinking before shooting. Alec wasn't an agent... he wasn't an officer, he was not Elite. He didn't have to take this kind of treatment and he wasn't going to.

Hearing Reese yelling at him, he ignores it, not stopping as he hits the outdoors. Looking both ways, he spots one of the Elite cars. One of his eyebrows quirks...

...Pulling into the auto shop, Alec parks and gets out of the shiny black car. Instead of going through the main entrance, he heads around to the open car bays and ambles to Ryan's spot. Leaning on the doorway, he watches her working for several moments before hollering in to her. "Hey, McKade! Ever hear of a lunch break, or are you gonna work all day?!"

"What on earth happened to your bike?" Tal's eyes were still wide when he finds Eli inside working on a car.

Eli looks at him without humor. "Don't ask. But mine wasn't the only one."

Tal stops, looking at him with question until realization hits him. "Not Scarlet's bike too? The one you just painted?"

"Yep." Eli finishes taping around the edges of the car and straightens up, irritation written all over his face.

"Do you know who did it?"

"Yep."

"Well... what are you gonna do about it?"

Eli purses his lips. "What any respectable citizen would do."

"Call the police?"

"Take revenge."

Opening Class

Knowing the key code in case she even needed it was important so even after she was inside for a few minutes she continued to say it in her mind until she new for sure what it was without hesitating.

Entering and scanning the whole room Destiny moves through out one way to the next. Everything was furnished, curtains, beds, dressers it was completely livable except for the food. Just listing to Chance while she explored Destiny could pick up on some cameras and what not where but to anyone else who didn't know it looked completely normal.

"I think I'll take the room that has the bathroom connected to it."

Nodding to Chance to show she understood how safe this place was Destiny followed into the kitchen after picking what room sh wanted. The kitchen was nice, shiny white and black tile, sliding doors that went out onto a deck. This defiantly was ok with her.

"This is really nice, I know Jason told me not to thank anyone anymore..but thanks anyways for keeping this as a surprise. It was a nice one for sure."

Entering a little more and going to the sliding glass doors Destiny looks out into the backyard. This was a nice little house, smaller than her parents but the inside seemed to reminder her of theirs in a way.

Turning as Chance mentions filling the fridge Destiny's face seems to lighten up just a bit as she turns to look at him. Sure she had gotten food for her own apartment before but something was differnt about this time that made her feel a little excited.

"Wow, we get to stock this place up on our own, that is going to be fun. We can do that after the meeting with my lawyer if you want. Your going to have to let me know what you like to eat too, than I can cook for ya, I'm not to shabby at it."

Leaning her head into Leo's hand Cassy's eyes fall shut for a moment just letting Leo's touch sooth her. Though his hands were rough there was still a soft nature behind them, that was nice.

Opening her eyes again slowly Cassy looks up into Leo's again as he speaks. The only reason she had done good this time was because he's been there supporting and helping her. With the movement he made weather he new it or not had been soft, and not edgy at all. The nice flow helped Cassy move without hurting herself.

Wanting to say something but holding back Cassy gives a smile as Leo lifts her up again and she hands on her feet. Shifting her weight so it was mostly off her one knee she new in the morning she would be in a good deal of pain but it had been worth it and felt great.

"I never could get enough practice, but I know you've had a long day and I better not push the knee more than I have. Thanks for helping with the edging. Only a few more things to finish and this place will be ready to open. You wanna come and watch the grand opening class?"

Doing really well

For some reason Chance couldn't explain, he enjoyed seeing the surprise on Destiny's face. Maybe because he knew that right now, not much was bright in her life. He hadn't wanted this assignment and would still high-tail it back to Arizona if he could... but it could be worse. Destiny was nice, and she did deserve a fair chance after everything had happened.

Getting out of the car too, Chance bites his lip and nods in response to her. "Yeah... I knew it was a place like this." His smile can't help but break loose again. Taking a good glance around their surroundings, even though it might appear to some that Chance wasn't paying attention, all of his senses were on high alert. This was one job in which he could never let his guard down.

"Alright... lets go see our new pad." Walking with Destiny, he heads for the door. He had a key, but that wasn't the only thing that needed to be used. A key code also had to be punched in, and he makes sure Destiny knows what it is and can remember before going inside.

It's a nice house - not grand but very clean with nice furnishings. The living room has a good amount of space and the kitchen is light and airy. There are two bathrooms and two bedrooms... Chance mentions they can have their own bathrooms, and he would probably claim a corner of the living room instead of the bedroom so he could be in constant monitoring of the house. Destiny was free to pick which bedroom she wanted or even both.

As they walk, Chance explains all he'd learned on paper the night before. This house had a whole lot more security than one could see. There were hidden cameras everywhere, connected to the alarm system. If the alarm was triggered, the cameras would automatically connect back at TJY so someone there could be alerted and would see what was going on. Outside, the house was surrounded by motion sensors.

Chance points out the kitchen window once they'd made a full sweep of the house. "So much as a dog pees over that line out there and I'll be alerted here inside."

He would be set up in the corner of the living room with several monitors that would rotate through the outside security cameras, helping him keep an eye on everything, day or night. All of the windows were bulletproof, and the locks were reinforced, preventing anyone from breaking in.

"It's as tight as a drum but rather pleasant." Chance sets his hands on his hips and looks around again, not minding this at all. Nights on an infirmary cot were not his cup of tea. This... this was alright.

Catching Destiny's eye, he grins. "The fun part will be stocking up the fridge before we move in."

Leo's chest heaved with his breath as his adrenaline continued to race through his veins. His eyes remain locked with Cassy's. A bead of sweat runs down the side of his face. The silence is overwhelming, as is the feeling of her fingers raking through his hair. Her touch sent chills down his spine and he can feel the warmth creeping into his face.

The look in Cassy's eye is unmistakable. Leo knew that she still wanted to be more than friends, and his dancing style tonight had not helped matters. In this moment, she was in his arms and he in hers, making it nearly impossible to say no. Still holding her safely with one arm, his other hand comes up to touch his palm to the side of her face. He had rougher hands than one might think. While he was viewed by so many as clumsy and maybe inept, there was more hard work that went on behind the scenes, creating callouses on strong hands.

Leo's thumb moves along Cassy's cheek, the silence seeming to intensify the strange new tension in the air. Somehow Leo finally manages to find his voice, though it's quieter than intended. "Looks like you're... um... doing really well."

His eyes seemed to reveal he wanted to say more, but something held back his voice. Realizing he still hadn't moved, Leo shifts to straighten up, bringing Cassy up too so she could stand on her own. Letting her go, his eyes drift downward and he brushes at an imaginary piece of dirt on his pants. "I should... probably go if... if you've had enough practice."

5/13/10

O.-

Giving a short laugh Katie found it a bit funny even if she didn't know why. She hadn't even met the new guy but for Jason to be annoyed by him something must be up. Jason's feelings usually weren't wrong.

I don't mind and you know that. How about we meet at my place about three thirty and than when we are done we can head over to help the band set up.

Going out and into the car with Chance Destiny is quiet for the ride. Just watching the scenes go by and trying to get her own bearings onto where they were. Coming to the fairly nice area her eyes widen a little as she sits up.

Taking everything in Destiny continues to wonder if Chance was lost or if maybe he had heard Reese wrong. But coming to the house and stopping she turns to look at Chance before even words could come out of her mouth her question had been answered.

Looking back out in at the house again she's couldn't help but let her eyes get big. It was not that she'd never seen a house like this before, her parents house was rather large but this was far from any safe house she had seen.

"Whoa..I was not expecting this. This is defiantly better."

Opening the car door and getting out Destiny calls back into the car.

"Yeah I'd like to see the inside."

The house was a medium size and relatively nice. Maybe this whole thing wouldn't be to bad after all...just maybe. Waiting for Chance to join her before she went any farther and can't help the smile that moved onto her lips again.

"So you new about this surprise huh?"

Being taken into the more deeper dance Cassy didn't mind though she was a bit surprised. Just continuing to watch Leo's eyes, and let him lead she was doing ok. The music, the moments everything about them mixed so well. It was hard to find two dancers that could mesh like that, but it seemed Cassy and Leo could.

Just letting the music float on, Cassy lets herself get lost, and at Leo lifts her her own arms go out slightly to the sides. Sliding back down to the ground Cassy's eyes lock with his never breaking away even as she is taken into the dip.

Her own breath was heavy as she looked up into Leo's eyes almost feeling like she could get lost in them too. Bringing her hand to the back to Leo's head Cassy runs her hand through his hair as the other his arm. Her knee throbbed a little but she payed no attachen to it. The dance had been nice, she'd truly enjoyed it.

The silence continues but Cassy didn't mind as it seemed like silent words were being exchanged at least to her. Oh how she wish at this moment she could kiss Leo, everything about this moment seemed perfect, and something in his eyes said he wanted it. But Cassy new the bounds and she would not cross them. Leo would have to make the first movie. So she continues to just rake his hand with her hand and look up into his eyes.

Ballroom

Yeah... yeah leaving early would be good. Sorry... I know I need to cut this out.

Realizing that his hands had started to shake slightly, he opens his desk drawer to retrieve a granola bar. Tearing it open, he takes a bite, letting the sugar do its job.

Just... if you feel me punch anybody, it's gonna be Alec or the new guy. He bugs me.

Chance grins, glad that Destiny trusts him. "Nope." He holds up a set of keys, jingling them proudly. "I got me an Elite car to use whenever we please. At least for now, the Agency won't be finding your car. Come on."

Leading the way out of the building, Chance heads around the side where there was a short line of vehicles used for Elite purposes. Finding the right one, he opens the passenger door for Destiny. "And here we are. Slide right in, ma'am."

Once he was in the car too, with the engine started, he maneuvers through the parking lot and out on the street. "Okay... Reese told me where this place is, so we just gotta find Third Street..." His voice trails off as he tries to get his bearings in an unfamiliar town. Seeing the sign, he hits the brakes a little too quickly. "Ah, here we go. Hang a left, he said, so that is what we shall do."

Talking to himself as he remembers the directions, Chance drives for about ten minutes, coming to a residential area of town. It was a relatively new housing division with nice homes, some large and some small. Meeting few cars, it was apparent that this was a nice quiet area. Neighborhood Watch signs were visible in an attempt to thwart crime as well.

One might believe Chance was lost, coming to this place. It certainly wasn't the kind of location one would envision when thinking about their purpose for being there. But soon enough, he turns into a driveway of a one-story house. It was a pleasant looking house... a light blue with dark, decorative shutters and a big bay window that looked out towards the street. Attractive bushes lined the front, and the lawn was well-kept.

Shutting off the engine, Chance just sits for a moment before turning his head to Destiny. He knew she hadn't been thinking of a place like this. "When Reese does a job, he does it right. You deserve more than a group setting with victims of abuse. Until we get things straightened out and settled down, this is going to be your home. I'm just a shadow that will maintain high security for you."

He searches her face, wondering what she might be thinking. "We can go in if you want, and take a look around."

Feeling Cassy's intense gaze, Leo's own line of sight drops to meet her eyes. Continuing to dance to the music, he grows quiet, not sure how to respond now. She was enjoying this... maybe more than he had intended her to.

"Yes well... dancing is always a good way to end a day, don't you think?"

Sending Cassy spinning to the end of his hand, then bringing her back again, his other arm slips around her waist as they gradually twirl, their reflections caught in the shimmering mirrors. With a little bit of imagination, they were on a grand ballroom floor, elegantly dressed, along with several other couples. An orchestra played the soft music as those less daring remained along the sides to watch and admire those who could move so gracefully to the music. The tempo picks up and each couple steps in time to the rhythm. In unison, they swirl and shine under the soft glowing lights, men leading ladies on an enchanted journey across the floor. The orchestra's song swells with emotion, the dancers responding with passion as each falls into their partner's eyes, moving as one. The music intensifies, leading to prominent steps, filled with emotion. And as the final measures play, the men take their maidens and lift them into the air - graceful angels, soft and light, so little strength needed to-

Leo's mind comes to a screeching halt as the music playing begins to fade. Breathing heavily, he looks up into Cassy's eyes as he had just lifted her for one last twirl. Slowly, gently, he brings her back down so her feet can touch the floor. His final move is to pull her into a graceful dip, the song ending as now she hung on his arm, his gaze now looking down into those deep, sparkling pools.

His pulse racing, he realizes that he had maybe pushed her limits too much, not having intended at all to dance the way he had. A silence takes over the room as the music has now stopped.

Personal Bubble

Continuing to feel all Jason's bottled emotions Katie new he needed to take it easy or throw himself into sugar shock, or even damage something feather including himself.

Maybe if you want we can leave a little early today, not to much I know we have work to do but maybe a half hour early, and we have just release some pent up emotions before the show tonight.

Katie didn't know if Jason would be up for that or not but at least it was something. Giving a shake of her head Katie would feel the same warmth Jason had but not as strong. At least if he blew off a little steam before the show it would be enough to let him concentrate.

Anyways..once you get out on that stage you'll forget about everything else. You always do when your up there.

Catching the look in Chance's eye that he new a little more than she did about this place worried Destiny, but he promised it would be ok and to her liking so she had to trust him.

"Ok..I trust you."

Giving a chuckle at his comment about not following her when she changed and into the bathroom a small smile forms on her lips. She was thankful he had some kind of decency. Though she had to admit him following her every moment was going to take some getting use to.

Yes she new she needed protection, she had asked for it after all, yeah she had figured whoever would follow her all over the place but...maybe she didn't realize that they would be in every foot step with her. It would take some getting use to, doing her normal activity around Chance. Quiet time, space, personal bubble it no longer existed. This was deffintly going to be a challenge.

Looking at Chance's out stretched arm for a long moment Destiny finally takes it with her hand and links arms with him. Feeling his arm she realized just now how much muscle he had, and in a way it made her feel a little safer.

"Are we going to be taking my car or did you have your own?"

Cassy was happy to hear that Leo had a decent day and that him and his friend had almost figured out the car. Even though Leo said he wasn't good at being a macanice she could see the twinkle that lied behind his eyes when he talked about it. He did enjoy doing it and figuring out how to fix the cars.

"Well at lease you have a good day."

As Leo picks up the beat and moves a little faster Cassy dares to push her own self as well not feeling any pain in her knee at the moment. A little push wouldnt hurt, and Leo was there for the support so she should be ok.

Hearing Leo's last comment about being lovely Cassy's cheeks turned red, and she new it feeling the warmth in them. Continuing to keep in step though Cassy's eyes lock with Leo's for a moment just letting the music carry her.

She new they were only friends, and she couldn't help how she felt about Leo but she did her best to keep her feelings at bay, but something about the music...she couldn't help the soft look in her eyes. It just relaxed her and shearing a dance with Leo even if it was only practice something just made it special.

Doing a slow spin Cassy than brings herself close to Leo again as the music becomes a little more intense. Still looking into his eyes he own sparkle just showing how much she was enjoying herself.

"I guess than both our days ended in the best way."

The lovely

Jason falls into his chair, banging it against his desk accidentally. Katie's message breaks through his inner turmoil and he doesn't answer her right away. He'd felt better last night... calmer... more in control. But once he'd gotten here and in the same room with Alec again, it was like putting two angry bulls in the same pen. They could get along under certain circumstances, and even be friendly towards each other. But then when a stunt was pulled like yesterday...

Jason tears a page out of his notepad that he'd scribbled on the day before. Balling it up in his fist, he clenches his fingers tight, the paper pressing into his palm. He had killed a man. Alec had killed a man. But Alec's had been unnecessary and Jason did not trust him to be out on assignment like that. He didn't understand or approve of Reese's decision.

Yeah... I'm okay... will be...

Suddenly he realizes that his hand has grown very hot and he looks down just in time to realize the paper he held was smoldering. Quickly letting go, ash and bits of glowing paper flutter onto his desk, a bit of smoke rising.

"Oh for crying out..." Jason stands up in a hurry, patting out any leftover embers that might catch something else on fire. Brushing off his palm, he's glad to see he hadn't burned himself.

I'm going to set this place ablaze if I'm not careful. Today this, this... thing is a curse.

He had to get a handle on himself and fast. Sitting back down, he takes a deep breath and lets it out slowly, counting to ten. His anger begins to subside some - at least enough that nothing is rattling or threatening to burst into flames. How would he explain that one to Reese?

Everything is just piling up. But I gotta just get through this day. I can't screw things up and call off the concert tonight.

Even though deep down Leo felt just a twinge of awkwardness around Cassy sometimes, hearing that she still wanted him, needed him, to help her improve her dance and strengthen her form felt good. At the studio, he couldn't always compare or live up to expectations. In Cassy's eyes, he was as good as anybody, and whether he realized it or not, it helped boost his confidence.

Keeping in time with the music, but not moving too quickly, Leo gently lets Cassy spin, taking her close again and swaying to the rhythm.

"Mmm... my day was alright. Half was spent in the garage working on some old truck with Axel. We think we finally found the problem."

The music picks up a little, so he dares to push a couple quicker steps.

"Then a few hours were spent here, so I need not rehash that. And a few hours at the studio being a gopher and handyman."

Spinning Cassy around, he keeps one hand ready in case she needed support.

"And here I am. Dancing with the lovely Cassy Howard."

A smile appears on Chance's face as Destiny asks her questions. There was so much worry in her, yet she was still so full of life, even under these terrible and stressful circumstances.

"You don't need to worry about the safe house, okay?" He was very tempted to explain more, but in this case, he wanted to wait so she could see for herself that it wasn't going to be all that bad. A strange little twinkle was in his eye, hinting at the fact that he knew something she did not. "All your questions will be answered once we get there. But I promise it'll be alright." He looks her in the eye. "You have my word."

Hearing about the visit to the lawyer, he nods, growing a little more serious. "I'm going to be with you everywhere from now on, Destiny. Where you go, I go." He pauses in though. "Except the little girls room or the dressing room - that, I promise, will not be invaded... unless you tell me you got trouble in there, and I'll gladly rescue you... with my eyes closed."

A silly little grin tugs at the corners of his mouth as he tries to get Destiny to smile. "But I will tell you this... Some days you'll like it that I'm around, and some days you'll probably hate it. Because from here on out, you and me are like this." He holds up two fingers pressed together. "Grocery store, lawyers office, library or walk in the park... it's my job to be there. I'll do my best not to be too intrusive, but once we get the hang of this, it won't be so bad."

He tries to help her understand that he would be her shadow from now on, which meant she would not be alone anywhere. Privacy was something that would not come often. Safety would come first.

Holding out his elbow, he offers her his arm. "Walk you to our chariot?"

Drag Crap

Standing across from Leo Cassy gives a laugh as she shakes her head. As promised Leo was here again to help her practice. No matter how he felt it never failed he was there when he said he would be. Cassy though that in itself was a good treat in a friend.

"As long as your not dragging crap all over the new floor, I have no problem."

Waiting till the right tempo in the music place Cassy takes Leo's hands. Moving slower than normal, and taking great care on how she did the movie it helped knowing Leo was there for support, and helped take a little of the weight off her knee. As she moves, in little breaks where not to much concentration was needed Cassy spoke to him again.

"Ahh a little steadier I am, but still need you I do. I'm not where I should be and still in a great deal of pain if I do to much. Not to mention chancing turning wrong. So you being there to help guild my steps is a great help."

Continuing to move around Leo, with Leo it was like they were one, this was only there warm up but practice was practice and if Kyle wanted to go farther on she had no problem. She just new he was tired, and didn't want to push him to hard ether.

"So...How did the rest of your day go?"

Jumping just a little at the knock of the door Destiny finishes putting the rest of her stuff in her bag. She been up pretty early this morning, and already gotten dressed in her hunter green present top that hung a little off her shoulder, and a par of form fitted jeans with her heeled boots underneath.

Turning once he is in the room her lets out a sigh. Going to the door she opens it for Chance before stepping back into the room more again. She didn't know how she felt about this whole going to a safe house and what not. She'd wanted to just continue life like normal but if this kept her safe it was worth it right?

"Sure we might as well go now and get it done and over with right? Do you know anything about this place? What its like? The people?"

Destiny didn't normal ask so many questions but being in a place with people she didn't know tweaked her out just a bit. She'd see safe houses before on TV and they seemed so cramped and dirty she just wasn't sure if it was her cup of tea.

"After I have to go see my parents lawyer if thats ok. I don't think He's involved with the Agency but I guess you never know so you can come in too."

Being able to feel Jason's emotions go up and down Katie sat in her cubicle not really moving much. It was a strain on herself but she new Jason was trying to contain it all he could. She wasn't really doing anything today for work but more research on the computer so he wasnt interfering with anything.

As Jason draws near the feelings become stronger and without much of a cap they hurt a little more than normal. Though still not saying anything Katie continues to just filter Jason's emotions enduring the slight pain. She'd never give this up, she'd never tired of taking Jason's emotion not even when it hurt.

Waiting till Jason was a little father away and she could break through his emotions a little more without hurting herself to much Katie reaches out to Jason.

J...are you going to be ok?

Safe house

Mm-hmm... I'll be in tomorrow. Got to go over stuff with Reese and clean up yesterday's episode. After that who knows.

Jason had gotten so used to communicating with Katie silently that sometimes he didn't even realize he wasn't using his voice anymore. Giving Katie a last little hug, he guides her to the door and watches until her car is out of sight. Sighing deeply, he finally shuts the door and locks it then heads towards bed.

Gram's smile doesn't fade, her eyes twinkling at Alice. Nodding, she motions Alice to the sink. "You can help me wash some of these glasses so we've got more for everybody - I'm afraid my dishwasher is busy yacking with the other young'uns."

Kyle chuckles, grinning. To him, it was more than Gram just getting some help while Gramps was in the other room. Gram didn't let many people in her kitchen, let alone to help. It was a good sign that she was inviting Alice into her space, and it made Kyle smile even more on the inside. He was more than happy to have Alice get to know his family.

The next hour or so is spent settling in and finding space for everything and everybody. The basement is suitable for the group and a sheet is hung up on one side to separate the guys from the girls. There's quite a bit of teasing about it, but in the end, it's Twila who puts her foot down, even though she and Theo banter back and forth and she winds up chasing him around more than once.

Eventually though, everyone is tired enough that they know they need to sleep - they need to let the older couple get sleep too. By the time the house is quiet though, the kitchen light is still on. After saying goodnight to his gang, Kyle had padded back upstairs to find his old seat still there, and the listening ears still there as well...

Gram smiles at Kyle, her hands cupping her warm coffee mug. Hearing about all he'd done and all the places he'd been she listened with interest. "I'm sorry for all you went through with Break Out," she comments softly. "And I'm sorry for your friends there too."

"Yeah." Kyle sighs a little, taking a sip of his own coffee. "Stuff like that is never of or from God, but He used it for good, at least in my case."

"Because without it, you wouldn't have your own band now?"

Kyle grins. "Yeah."

Gram smiles again and she reaches across to put her hand on his. Glancing down, she lifts an eyebrow. "You wear a ring now."

Kyle looks down too and fiddles with the sterling ring on his right hand's middle finger. "Oh... just something I picked up after Break Out." All it had was a scripture reference engraved on it. "I guess it's a reminder... that everything's in God's hands, not mine."

Gram's smile widens. "And that's one of the most important things you could ever remember."

After telling all that had happened with the band, being at the grand Wiley estate and landing the deal to come back to Nevada, it was Kyle's turn to ask the questions. "So... what's new back here?"

Gram takes a deep breath, letting it out slowly. "Well... let's see... what was the last you heard?"

Kyle has to think back quite a ways. "It's been a while... not much was happening that I know of. I guess I lost touch with Jen and Phil. It was just the concert I found out about and you know I want to go there tomorrow night."

"Mmm..." Gram nods thoughtfully. "Did you know Jen been back in a wheelchair?"

Kyle's eyes widen. "No, I... I didn't. How long? What happened?"

"She started having some pain... it was doctor visits for a while again. She'd been on her feet and was doing well, then she turned her ankle going up some steps and fell. she has some feeling but... not enough to keep her going again." Gram purses her lips. "So... she's managing the best she can. It's been a couple months now."

Kyle swallows hard, his eyes drifting downward. He'd had no idea. "Oh, I see." He remembered when he used to be the one to carry her around... help her in and out of vehicles... push her wheelchair. Phil did a lot too, but Kyle had always been the main help. He remembered missing it when Jen had been able to walk again. And now he felt even worse that she was back in her wheelchair.

Gram cocks her head, seeming to sense what was going through his mind. "She and Mike have put things on hold as well."

Kyle's gaze shoots up again. "What? Why?"

"Not sure." Gram shrugs. "They are still close and it doesn't seem to have interfered with JetStream at all. But... I'm not sure what happened. I think maybe things started moving a little fast. Jen wasn't sure what her future looked like after her fall... Mike is the head manager at the music store now and his hours got long... I think maybe they just decided they needed some time to think... needed some time to sort out priorities and figure themselves out again before trying anything more serious." She smiles softly. "But that's just an old lady's speculation."

Kyle chuckles. "Oh, I think your speculation is pretty wise, Gram. It always has been."

Gram studies her grandson thoughtfully for a moment. "I see something new in your eyes. What's wrong? Worried about Jen?"

"A little. She's strong but... she's had so much to go through and things were looking so good." Kyle shrugs lamely. "I shouldn't have lost touch. I... I know she wanted to keep writing or at least a phone call now and again and I just... I don't know... I guess I was so wrapped up in trying to find me, that I forgot my family was part of me too."

Gram gives his hand a squeeze. "We all need to find ourselves sometimes, Kyle. Don't guilt yourself. Without finding your own path, how could you have found your way back here again? Jen doesn't blame you. She has missed you something awful, but she doesn't blame you." Her smile broadens. "She's going to be so surprised to see you."

"I hope so."

Gram tilts her head down to find Kyle's eyes. "You sound doubtful."

"Oh... I guess maybe I'm not so sure it's going to be a great reception." Kyle takes another sip of his coffee, remembering back over a year ago. It seemed like a lifetime. "Jason and I weren't on great terms... me and Phil were having trouble... Jen and I, well... we were growing apart." He shrugs. "Maybe me showing up might not go over too well."

"Don't worry about that... I'm pretty sure they'll be happy to see you." Gram offers him a wink. "It's getting late... why don't you go down and get some rest, hmm?"

"I'm sorry - I've kept you up too late."

"Oh hush. I could stay up with the best of them. It's just your grandfather. If he wakes up and doesn't feel his hot brick next to him, he'll get up and whine until he finds me."

Kyle laughs and shakes his head. "I love you, Gram."

"I love you too, Kyle. I'm glad you're home."

The morning dawns bright and clear. After so many cloudy days, the sunshine was welcomed. But even while outside it was warm and friendly, inside TJY, there was turmoil.

"I tell you it wasn't needed, it was murder!"

"It was not! That scum deserved to-"

"We could have had a way in!"

Susanne cringes as the argument continues in Reese's office. Alec and Jason had been called in to continue yesterday's incident at Destiny's apartment, and it was very clear that Jason thought Alec was in the wrong for killing one of the Agency men. Reese was just trying to sort it all out, and Alec wasn't backing down.

All of a sudden, Jason stalks out of Reese's office, slamming the door behind him. His stride is long and deliberate, his anger boiling. He was hot enough that he had to keep a lid on his anger, lest he blow something up, but it was very uncomfortable and surely painful for Katie. He just couldn't understand the way Alec was thinking, and he couldn't understand Reese's lack of reprimand towards Alec.

Continuing his fast trek, he passes by Katie's cubicle without stopping. Turning the corner into the hall too quickly, he runs right into Chance.

Chance stumbles backward and looks up with surprise, willing to at least try and laugh it off as a smile comes to his lips. "Good morning to you too, Jason. Sorry - guess I better learn the locomotive routes around here so I don't get run over."

Jason glares down at him and simply shoulders past. "Shut up, newbie."

Chance doesn't turn around, but his smile vanishes, replaced by an expression of irritation and defeat. Newbie. Nice low blow. Nice low blow. Sighing, he continues his route to Reese's office, only to realize there was a loud conversation happening there between the chief and Alec, and that was something he didn't want to walk in on either. Great. Now what?

A bit discouraged, he heads back to the hallway. He'd seen Reese already earlier this morning and had been told where the safe house was. If nobody was going to help him, he would do this on his own.

Getting to the spare room's door, he knocks quietly. "Destiny? Are you up?" He pauses, listening. "Thought we could go check out that safe house if you wanted... do any running around you needed to do too."

"Alright... I haven't showered since working outside earlier or building props at the studio, I am beat and dead on my feet, but as long as you can still stand me, I'm here." Leo grins at Cassy, swaying a little on her dance floor as the music plays.

He holds out his hands, knowing even if he was tired, he had a promise to keep. He'd been here earlier to work on the eaves, and as arranged, he'd returned after dark. "Looks like you're getting steadier by the day. I'm not so sure you even need me," he teases.

Alone!

Giving a small smile to Chance Destiny was becoming a little more comfortable now that she had sat and talked to him a little. She still wasn't one hundred percent sure but she felt better than she had before.

"Well lets hope they don't try to kill me forever. Though I have to admit they might get bored with me, but I think I'll always have the bounty on my head. Just have to make sure I don't get caught in a dark alleyway."

Finishing up her milk Destiny stands and heads to the sink washing her mug out and setting it on a towel to dry. Turning around and just leaning on the counter she watches Chance again as he stands and gives a stretch. Giving a nod to him she smiles a little more.

"Good Night Chance, see you tomorrow bright and early I am sure."

Once he was gone Destiny just stands in the break room for a few moments longer once again alone. She's spend many times alone before but this time it was just different the though of her parents being gone, just knowing if she wanted to call no one would answer it was just different not and alone almost seemed frighting in itself.

Finally letting out a sigh and feeling a tad bit tired Destiny wonders back to what was her room tonight. Laying down on the bed and pulling the covers tight over her sleep would not come easy, but it would come.

Sitting on the couch just being so comfortable with Jason Katie hadn't even herd Trooper behind them until Jason was talking him him. Giving a laugh that grew as Trooper gave her a lick Katie just couldn't help it. It tickled and Jason's reaction was priceless.

He's like a big kid, has to be the center of everything.

As Trooper comes to the front of the couch and Katie can see the look in his eyes her own eyes widen slightly. Being deposited onto the couch Katie could only be a little happy knowing if Trooper had joined them there would be no room left on the couch.

Looking up at Jason and taking his hand Katie gives a small chuckle. It was getting late, and she needed to head home even if she didnt want to. Leaning into Jason and giving him a kiss Katie pulls away after a few moments.

I'll always enjoy being your Hero....See you tomorrow at work?

Slobber

Chance nods thoughtfully before taking a swig of his water. "Yeah... I guess they got a couple ex-Agency fellas here. Always gotta watch their backs though, just like you. They're wanted for being traitors. Nice thing about the Agency though is that if you fight long enough or don't give 'em what they're looking for soon enough, eventually they get bored. Then they like to just sit back and observe, poking their target in the ribs just every once in a while."

He cocks his head a little, a small smile emerging again. "Which I'm sure will be the case with you. We'll keep them at bay long enough that one of these days you'll get a normal life back." Taking another sip, he chuckles. "You won't have to put up with me for the rest of your life, and I guarantee, that's a good thing for you."

Standing up, he puts the cap back on the bottle of water. "I guess Reese had the downtown station hopping today - they've already got a safe house suggested not far from here. So... we'll get to go check that out tomorrow." He nods, his eyes roaming as he searches for an appropriate end to their short conversation. "Goodnight, Destiny... rest well."

Jason moves his head a little, craning his neck to find Katie's eyes. A smile forms on his lips before he gives her forehead a kiss.

Thanks. I'd rather you whack me over the head than them... you're nicer.

Just settling back into the pillow and closing his eyes, there's a sudden little groan behind him. His eyes fly open again and he feels hot dog breath on his head, knowing Trooper must be standing at the end of the couch.

"You had to decide you need out right this moment, didn't you?"

Trooper gives another whiny groan and his tail starts to wag. He sticks his nose into Jason's hair, sniffing around and stretching his neck down beside Jason's head so he can give Katie a kiss too.

"Aw, ya big oaf!" Jason shoves the dog's head back again. "You think I wanna kiss her now that you've slobbered all over her?"

Trooper woofs and runs around to the front of the couch, looking for a way to join the cuddling.

"Ohhh, no you don't." Jason sits up, depositing Katie onto her own cushion. "You need to go out, remember?" Sighing, he forces himself to get up and let Trooper out in the back, then wanders back through to the living room, his hands tucked just inside his jeans pockets. He knew Katie needed to go home. It was late. Ambling to the couch, he reaches down, offering her his hands to pull her up too.

Thanks for coming over... I think I'll be able to sleep now... You're still my hero.

Devilish

Sitting at the same table lost in thought Destiny dosent hear anyone moving around out in the other room. Though when Chance comes into the break room it causes Destiny to jump and grasp the table ready to run and scream if she had to. Seeing it was only Chance and hearing his voice she relaxes a little though her heart was in her chest now.

"I couldn't sleep if I wanted to. Being in a new place I'm not sure to and having the worry to watch my back. My mind is on to many other things."

Holding the warm milk she had made up for herself Destiny takes a small sip. When she wasn't tired at home this always seemed to do the trick though it did taste different because she was use to skim milk and not two percent she hoped it would still work here too.

Finally looking up at Chance Destiny takes a little more time to study him. She might as well get use to him being the one to be her bodyguard. Taking in his devilishly good look, She ends up spending most her time looking at his eyes. They were dark, luring, dangerous...she..felt as though looking into them brought her closer to something.

After a few more moments and the realization she had been staring Destiny shys away a little bit looking down at her milk again. The conversation taking a shift once more she isnt even sure what to say about it. She was trying to be strong with this whole thing, it was just...hard.

"Yeah, My dad was trying to get out...but I guess no one really ever gets out once they are in with the Agency. But for what its worth, thank you."

Leaning into Jason and snuggling with him Kaite felt so comfortable. Even after there exchange of emotions when she herself was tired, she just always felt that much more comfortable in Jason's arms.

Awww...I don't think your abandoning them. They understand you got an important job to do that comes before the band. Not to mention even without much practice they know your great. Not to mention if they heard you talking like that they probably give you a good whack over the head themselves.

Keeping her arms wrapped around Jason she moves her head a little to look up at him and into his eyes. She new how Jason must feel but she also new that the band understood the other part of Jason and why sometimes he wasn't around.

Staying close to Kyle as they entered the house Alice could feel how comfortable it was here. It felt like walking into home, and how warm and cozy it was one could tell God sheltered this place.

Making herself comfortable and moving around with the band joking and laughing just having a nice time Alice always finds herself back at Kyle's side, not that she minded it was where she felt most comfortable.

Now being brought into the kitchen and introduced to Kyle's grandmother Alice's smile widens even more. She felt so special being introduced differently than the other. Loving his grandmother's enthusiasm Alice didn't feel shy as she wrapped her own arms around her.

"It's very nice to meet you finally as well. Kyle's told me so much about you and so far there hasn't been one exaggeration. Thank you for having me in your home."

Backing away and looking to Kyle with another smile and than back to gram again Alice offers her help.

"Is there anything I can help you with or set up for you? I'd love to be able to do something to help out."

Special friend

Once Rick is gone and the lights are out, Chance finds himself dozing off into a light sleep. Quiet sounds wake him though, and he's unsure if someone had walked by, or if it was just the whirring of distant computer equipment he'd heard. He wasn't worried much - this place was tighter than a drum at night, a contrast to the way it was during the day.

Finding himself thirsty though, he ends up rising from the cot and stretching with a yawn. In his bare feet, jeans and his collared shirt untucked with several buttons open, he wanders out into the hall, trying to remember which way the break room was. His missed his own refrigerator, and the irritation at Toby returns.

Padding down the hall, he finds his way, seeing the light had been left on. Turning the corner, he's not expecting anybody else, so seeing a form a the table almost makes him jump out of his skin. "What in the na....." His words trail off as he realizes who it is, and he puts a hand over his heart. "And I though you were the one that needed a bodyguard, not me!"

A sheepish smile emerges and he gives a soft laugh, feeling pretty ridiculous, but being willing to joke about it. "I thought you'd be long gone to dreamland by now."

Grabbing a small bottle of water from the fridge, he wanders to the table and sits down across from Destiny, studying her fine features. He could have had a worse assignment, that was for sure. At least he had something pretty to look at.

Sitting in awkward silence wasn't something Chance enjoyed though, and the bottle of water spins on the table between his nervous fingers. "I, um... read about you on the way up here. Reese faxed my boss in Arizona so I'd have a handle on things by the time I got here." He cocks his head a little, his dark eyes giving off a shine under the florescent lights. "I'm sorry... about your parents, I mean. That's a tough blow for anybody."

Just bring yourself... that's all I need.... and the cookies, too.

Jason manages a little bit of humor as he pushes off the back of his truck. Sighing deeply, he slides in behind the steering wheel, taking a moment to have a private conversation with God before starting the engine. He had very little time to get his head back on straight.

Getting home, he gives Trooper a bit of attention before throwing a few things in the living room back where they belonged. He kept a fairly neat house for it being just him, though he'd been so busy lately that things had gotten just a little messy. Not to mention when Trooper got bored, things in the living room tended to get... moved around.

It doesn't seem like long at all before Jason is almost falling asleep on the couch, Katie wrapped in his arms. The movie droned on but he was hardly paying attention. He felt exhausted... from the day and from sharing his emotional strain with Katie not long after she'd arrived. Now all that was left was a feeling something like emptiness, though there was still the comfort he'd been given.

As he drifted in and out of light sleep, his mind wandered, too tired to make the words form in his mouth.

I feel like I've abandoned the band... we play tomorrow night and I didn't even make practice tonight. Phil's trying to so hard to keep us together but sometimes I feel I'm the one holding us back... like someone else might be better for JetStream than me.

His grip around Katie tightens a little as he lets his head sink further into the couch throw pillow. Maybe he was just tired.

"Kyle!" Gram threw her arms around his neck and pulled him into a huge hug, not caring that there was a group of people behind him that overflowed the porch onto the sidewalk.

"Whoa, whoa, Gram, you're choking me to death." Kyle laughs and hugs her back. "I figured you and Gramps would be in bed?"

A male voice shouts from in the house. "Why? Because we're old or what?"

Kyle grins and withdraws from his grandmother. "You never get old. Got room for this rowdy bunch?"

"Why else would I have said yes to you all coming?" Gram gives his arm a swat. "Of course." Her eyes glance around the other young people, the enthusiasm shining through. "Come in, come in, come in. We have warm food if you want it and plenty of something cold to drink too."

Kyle gestures to the others, ushering them all into the house. There wasn't a whole lot of room in the living room and kitchen, but they'd all be staying in the finished basement come time for bed, so no one seemed to mind. Kyle introduces everyone to Gram and Gramps and they are all received just as part of the family. One guest is saved for last though, and Kyle saves the introduction for when he catches Gram alone in the kitchen, his hand in Alice's. "Gram?"

She turns from the sink, her cheeks aglow from bustling around making sure everyone was taken care of. Her smile widens. "And who is this?"

Kyle grins. "This is Alice... a very... special friend in my life."

Gram steps forward and offers a hug - something she hadn't given the others. "Hi, Alice. I'm so glad to finally meet you."

Wondering

Listing to Chance and Jason talk Destiny does her best to pick up on what was said thought her mind was still foggy from today events. Hearing Chance had been all over was quite interesting. Destiny had always wanted to travel and see other places. Her father had, and always brought her home postcards but she was never allowed to go with him.

Seeing Jason was ready to go Destiny reaches out and takes his hand giving it a squeezes. Her eyes meeting his again as she gives a small nod. She understood she would be safe here, but when she left, what about when she left?

"Good Night Jason, and...."

She stops for a second knowing he didn't want to be thanked anymore though it just seemed like something that needed to be done. But changing her words she wanted to at least try and not thank him like he wanted.

"...I hope to see you again."

Once Jason is gone Destiny looks back to Reese and chance again. She felt so out of her zone here, not knowing what to do or what to say. It was a nice little room different from what she was use to but still she felt uncomfortble being in a new place, having a new bed a little harder than her own.

After everyone was done Destiny just stairs at the closed door for a long while. She felt so out of place, and hated being somewhere new where she didn't know where anything was. She just felt lost and now that night drew closer and things had quieted down her mind had to chance to wonder and it was her parents she thought about.

Finally getting up off the bed Destiny wonders from the room where she would be staying. Heading to the bathroom fire Destiny changed into some soft plaid pants and a over sized t shirt. Watching her face and pulling her hair back into a pony tail. Once finished cleaning up Destiny wonders a little moving in and out of the different cubicles not really looking for anything but keeping her mind busy and just figuring out the lay out of TJY.

Coming to the long hallway she wonders down it coming to the different doors that were closed she decides its probably best not to open them and be nosy so coming back up the way she came Destiny finds herself in the break room grabbing something to drink and just sitting down...think..wait...and thinking some more.

Sitting at home Katie really wasn't doing anything. Ryder and Thirteen had been gone for the night doing something together so it was a little quieter than normal in the house. Getting Jason's message though Katie perks up a little a smile coming to her face. She always loved feeling him even if he was far away.

Mmm...I'd love to come over and be with you. I could use the company myself its a little quiet around here.

Katie new Jason would be having a problem with what happened today not just because she could feel the pull in his emotions but because she new from the past he always had a hard time knowing he killed someone. She'd been there for him than, she would be there for him again now. Nothing could keep her from being there when he needed her.

Let me just grab some of the cookies I made and I'll head right over. Anything else you want me to bring?

Even if Leo was only setting up stage props it was still something to do with the studio and it made Cassy happy to see that. Even if he was just helping out it meant he hadn't given up.

Hearing that after he was done he come and see her even help her Cassy can't help but get a little excited. Not only would she be able to see Leo twice in one day but she would be having her very best friend help her practice and that was something special in its own.

"I couldn't think of someone I would rather practice with than you Leo. I think that sounds like a good idea. We can talk about it more when you come fix the edging on time and what not."
