Giving a nod to the dr. Hope was happy that he agreed and took well to the information understanding as much as he could. Getting Scott help was so important to her and somewhere in his heart it was important to Scott too.
Standing from the chair Hope gives a small smile to Dr. Hawks. He was a very nice man and Hope liked the way he ran things around here. Yes, she was thankful for that.
"Thank you Dr. Hawks. Keep me updated."
Leaving the office Hope continues on her way to Scott's room. Giving a gentil tap on the door being entering. The smile was still on her face as she entered, seeing Scott under the window with the warm sun light shinning on him.
"Hey there Hun. Its a great day out, would you like to go for a walk?"
Hope enters the room more coming close to Scott. His angle prevented her from giving Scott a hug so she draped her arm over his shoulder lightly.
Turning to look at Sparky Faith smiles at him. Searching his face her eyes take everything about him in. Just drinking up the feelings she felt, and the aura that just seemed to follow along with him.
"A little scared, but I am more than ready to go. It looks nice outside today."
Taking Sparky's hand in her own Faith continues to smile she was ready to go home with Sparky and enjoy more time with us. She was lucky to have live, and even better yet have someone like Sparky by her side.
"I'm happy I can enjoy it with you."

Sunshine
Dr. Hawks listens intently to Hope, taking notes and leaning forward with interest, trying to take it all in and trying to understand all these details that seemed unreal but were true.
Once everything is said, Dr. Hawks lets everything settle, nodding slowly. "Yes... just before you came, I had another session with Scott and he was quite angry. He gave me whatfor, but still wasn't getting that anger out of his system. I think he subconsciously replaced fear with anger because it felt safer. And hating someone is safer than forgiving them. It's obvious that he just didn't go through this stage earlier, but with it being this late in the game, it's going to be hard to overcome. I know too, that he's angry for being brought here, so that just feeds those feelings."
He sighs deeply, still thinking. "And you're right... getting him to care is another issue. He says he does... and I know he's not suicidal, but he's not caring enough to take care of himself either. He's wallowing in self-pity and anger as it builds up a protective wall around himself. Most likely he started doing that when all of that Agency data started getting to him - it was his defense and now it took over."
Pausing again, he sets his pencil down. 'Thank you for sharing all of this. I believe it will help greatly. I have a few ideas for some anger management that we can try so we'll see what happens."
He nods, ready to move on. "I think Scott went to his room if you want to see him. I don't know what kind of mood he's in though."
Scott stares at his breakfast that Jenny had left for him. He'd nibbled a little on the orange and toast but that was about it. Now that it had been sitting there for an hour, it was evcen less appealing.
Sinking down on the floor under the window, he wraps his arms around his legs and rests his chin on his knees. There was sunshine today and it felt warm on his shoulders, like a blanket he wanted but could never have. He wanted his own home back. He wanted Domino. He wanted his life back.
"Hey, Sunshine." A smile spreads on Sparky's face as he enters the hospital room, his cowboy hat tilted back and his truck keys jingling as he put them in his pocket.
Easing down on the bed next to Faith, he takes her hand, finding her eyes with him. "You look chipper today. Feeling ready to go?"

Home
Hearing David's voice on the other side of the phone Marge couldn't help but sit up a little straighter. It had been a while since David had been back so now actually hearing his voice was nice.
"Oh yeah I can get that for you no problem. Give me one second to pull up his account here."
Clicking some buttons on the computer Marge looks for Mr. Hans number. Taking a little longer than normal Marge finally finds it.
"Here we go. Its 548-789-6030. Good luck when you talk to him, he was a little upset yesterday. Maybe he's calmed down a little since than."
Making her way through the hospital like she had the last few days Hope path changes a little as she does not go straght to Scott's room but to Dr. Hawks office.
Giving a soft tap on the door Hope waits for her permissions to enter and than does so. Today she had a new renewed energy. Something to grasp onto in order to help Scott.
"Good Morning Dr. Hawk I was wondering if I could have a moment of your time."
Sitting down in one of the chairs across from the Dr. desk Hope folds her hands in her lap. She hoped this information would help him too.
"So, I happened to have a resource of someone who knows about what Scott went through with the Agency and he was about to give me a low down on everything. If you have the time I'd like to share, I think it can help us."
Starting at the beginning of the conversation that Hope had with Alec she tells Dr. Hawks everything she new. Not skating around anything, and just laying it all out. Explaining in some places for the Dr. better when she could see the confused look on his face. Finally after the explanation was over Hope draw to her conclusion of why she was telling him all this.
"So what it comes down to is once we can get Scott's anger uncontrolled, give him a way to physical get everything out when he needs to we have one thing out of the way and can start working on the other. After that we need to help train his mind to suppress all the data and turn it off when he needs to."
Hope was confadint even though she new they still had a long way to go in this road and one thing above everything else she new would be the hardest.
"I think the toughest part is going to be getting Scott to care again though."
Sitting on the edge of the bed as a nurse drew her blood. A small bag was packed and sitting on the floor. For now, and Lord willing this would be the last time she saw this hosp. Sparky would be here soon to pick her up. She was finally going home. From there Angel would take over her care, and keep checking up on her making sure all was well.
"There you go dear. I promise not to take anymore blood from you before you go. You take care of yourself ok? I don't want to see you back in here sick."
The older nurse smiled at Faith sweetly before taking the viles of blood and leaving the room.
Leaning back on the best once she was gone Faith smiled. She still had a long road to recover and it was still hard for her to some normal things without getting tired or dizzy but she was alive, and that alone was something to be happy about.

Anger
David flops down on his bed and ignores his ringing cell phone. Only after he'd heard a voicemail left does he groan and finally listen to it. Flipping his phone shut again he tosses it onto the bedside table and flops his head back into his pillow. He didn't even bother undressing. He'd make a call in the morning. It was late, and he was in no mood to deal with Mr. Hans. The morning... yes... things would look different then. Mr. Hans and Gunner's case...
"Yeah, Marge, it's me." David rubs his face wearily, his headache still pounding in his head. It was early morning, but he had to be up so he could get back to TJY and meet with Angelica again. "I got your message last night. Thanks. My phone's acting up and I can't get to all my contacts so I need Mr. Hans' number to call him back. can you get it for me?"
"When we let ourselves become so emotional, we're only letting them win," Dr. Hawks reminds gently.
"I don't care." Scott slouches in his chair, his arms folded stubbornly. "I hate them."
"It's natural," Dr. Hawks agrees. "But you have to let it go, Scott. It's eating you alive and that's exactly what they'd like to see."
"I don't care."
"Why?"
"Because for what they did to me, they deserve to be hated. Every last one of them. They should get exactly what they did to me." The bitterness in Scott's voice was cold and harsh. "Look, I spent months afraid and hiding in a corner, scared of my own shadow because of them. Now I finally realize how stupid that was. They shouldn't be feared. They should be stamped out and and run through a garbage disposal."
Dr. Hawks raises an eyebrow. "What about those who have changed? Some of your friends used to work for the Agency, right?"
Scott shrugs. "They were still involved in what went on there and there are some things I just can't forgive."
"Then you're giving up on your own heart. Being unforgiving will only prove to make you more bitter every day."
"Look at what they did to me!" Scott gets to his feet and points to the file that sat on Dr. Hawks' desk. "Don't think I don't know that all the information about me is in there. I know how this works. Look at what they did!" The horror made his stomach church again. "Do you know what it's like to be stuffed in a dingy cell with rats as your company? Do you know what it's like to be so disgusted with what you see and feel that all you can do is retch on the floor and sit in your own stench until it doesn't even bother you anymore? How about watching a young woman abused and taken advantage of right in front of your eyes? Or being beaten to a pulp when you refuse to do the same to her?" Tears sting his eyes, his fists balled tightly. "And then watch her die? Yeah... yeah, you really understand what I'm going through."
He shakes his head, his eyes narrowing. "Then try being betrayed by those you trust the most and thrown into a hospital where they want you to get 'better' when all you need is a change of scenery."
Dr. Hawks remains calm. "I know you're angry, Scott. I can't ever imagine what it was like and I can't relate. But I understand the feeling of anger and the feeling of betrayal. And I know that if you hang onto it like you're doing, you're not going to live very long. Because it's more than just being mad. You haven't taken care of yourself, you're not eating and you're sick. And worst of all, you don't care." He shakes his head slowly. "And I know that you're not happy with that and there's a part of you that wants to feel better."
"You don't know anything," Scott hisses. Taking control of his own time, he spins on his heel and stalks from the office, letting the door slam shut behind him. Stuffing his hands into his hoodie pockets, he keeps his shoulders slouched and his head down, aiming back for his room.
Left alone, Dr. Hawks sighs. Scott would shout at him, but he always walked away before he really let his emotions show through. He would tell bits and pieces but would always stop before really getting down to the nitty gritty. And he liked being angry because it kept him from being scared... kept him feeling in control. And from what Dr. Hawks could tell, Scott wanted to feel better, but at the same time, he'd rather be miserable so he had a reason to hide. What would help?

Unexspected phone call
Just wrapping her arms around Reese and resting her head on his chest Angelica listens to the beating of his heart. It was soft, and very soft rhythm to it defiantly a lulling sound.
"Coffee sounds good. I'd like that a lot."
Pulling away just a little from Reese Angelica continues to smile. All the feelings she had, were on the surface now, and she didn't need to hide them. It left a smile on her face that could not be taken off to easily.
"Let me just grab my jacket, and the paper work I'll need to bring to Gunner tomorrow and we can go."
Holding the phone in her hand Marge just looks at the number she had typed in. David was out of town and she always new what to say to his cilants when they needed him but tonight, tonight she wanted to call him and ask. Was it just to hear his voice, or was it that Mr. Hans was that persuasive on wanting to talk to David sooner than allowed.
Finally hitting the send button Marge waits as the phone rings her own hands seemed to sweat a little as she waited. But after the few few rings the voice mail picked up and her heart sank just a little. He was probably would with Angelica tonight, those two had always been inseparable. How could she ever compete with someone as pretty at her?
Shaking her head Marge remember why she had called David to start with pushing away her own lonely feeling.
"Hi David, sorry to call you while you were away but...I...just want to..."
Marge pauses for a moment the words on her lips, but the courage just not there.
"...let you know Mr. Hans came into the office today and was pretty upset. I tried to tell him when you would be back but he didn't want to listen. I don't know if you will have time to give him a quick call and maybe explain some things to him or not but he was pretty upset."
Holding her cup in her hand Marge walks into the kitchen placing it in the sink before continuing back to the couch and sitting down.
"Anyways I know it's late so I'll let you go. I hope your case is going well and you can come home soon. We miss you."
What she really wanted to say was I miss you, but she couldn't. The words wouldn't come out and she's had dropped hints before that she likes him but he had his sights set on one woman already.
"Have a good night David."
Hanging up the phone Marge sets it down before leaning back on the couch. Her Soap operas were on, they would keep her company for now as she dreamed of a day when maybe she wouldn't be so lonely.

Treat
A loving smiles curls Reese's lips and he leans in close to kiss Angelica tenderly once more. Then he pulls her into a strong hug, letting her head rest against his chest. He was ready too.
"What do you say we go out for a late night cup of coffee? My treat?"
David sighs and swirls the ice around in his glass once more before downing the rest of the strong drink. Two was his limit. This had been three.
Swiveling in his seat at the hotel's bar, he looks to the corner where a couple sat, speaking quietly and smiling... making eyes at each other. They looked so happy. Not lonely. David sighs again. It was quiet in here tonight... it was getting late and he needed to head up to his room. He needed a clear head in the morning whether he wanted it or not.
Move on, stupid. Quit moping. You knew she didn't have feelings for you, so you shouldn't be so disappointed. Buck up. Get your butt moving, finish this case and get back to California where you belong.
He smirks at his little mind game. No one else would find out about this disappointment. Tomorrow, things went back to normal. Giving himself a nod, he stands up and tosses his money on the counter before heading to the elevator. Better that than the stairs. He felt just a little light-headed.

Journy, story
Angelica's own cheeks turn a little bit red and she realized that Reese had over herd her talking with David. Though a part of her was embarrassed, another part was releaved knowing he new it was true.
Just continuing to look up into Reese eyes Angelica felt his light touch on her skin and it made her tingle all over. His touch was so warm and inviting, it made her feel like she was so special, and so safe. Something she never though possible to feel with a man before. It had always been about taking care of her and not letting herself chance getting close but something about Reese had pulled her in and broke down her walls.
"You have always been perfect the way you are amor, and thats why I feel for you. Because you never tried to go over bored and impress me, you were just...you."
Leaning her head into Reese hand Angelica moves her head up and down slightly loving the feel oh his skin against hers. Continuing to look up into his eyes, she own big brown eye sparkled with the new emotions, they danced with the feelings she felt, this was what she had been missing, but what she now found.
"Now we both can let go of our shadows and cling to whats real. I'm ready."
Running her own finger along Reese jaw line she mapped his face, bringing her finger up to his eye where the moisture had formed, gently whipping the wetness away. Her fingers just continuing to linger as his face as she smile grew.
Leaning into Kip a little bit Karla laughs. The energy in the room was great, and it just seemed to feed her excitement even more. A little spring in her step as she followed Kip Karla kept her arm around him.
Wrapping her arms around Kyle Alice gives him the warm hug back. She was so excited and though they had a long way to go still his was a great start.
"How about we go see what kind of deal they got for you guy huh?"
Scrunching her nose a little Alice holds her hand out to Kyle. This was there journey, together..with friend they met along the way. There journey, there story, this was there time.

...until now
Reese is taken by surprise as Angelica draws so near. Though they often both worked late, usually it was on separate projects, so even if they were two of the very few in the building, they sometimes didn't even cross paths.
He leans his face into her hand a little, looking into her eyes with a bit of puzzlement, mixed with the strangest gaze of admiration. Being drawn into her kiss, his arms automatically slide around her, his hands resting lovingly on her back as he returns the sweet gesture.
Though she pulled back, he didn't let her go far, his arms still around her. Hearing her words, it's without warning that moisture reflects in his eyes. "I... I wasn't sure if I believed you," he admits quietly. A little bit of color comes to his face. He'd overheard her and David. Though he hadn't seen them kiss, he had heard his plea for her to go with him and he'd heard her answer. "What you told David was... I mean, I..."
He swallows hard and moves one of his hands to run it down Angelica's face, his thumb tracing over her lips and jawline. "I feel so undeserving," he finally manages softly. "I haven't... it's been a long time." Why he felt like he was falling to pieces now, he wasn't so sure. He was just as glad that they were the only ones on the dim main floor at the moment. "I haven't been told I was loved by a woman since Wyatt's mom."
A part of his heart was still clinging to the past, while another part was clawing its way to the surface, begging for him to allow himself to be loved again. Looking down into Angelica's eyes, he searches for the truth in her words. Tonight was not a night he had been prepared for this barrage of emotions. They were emotions that he usually only let show when he was alone at night with no one else to see. No one ever saw him stare blankly out the window, overcome in total loneliness on the rainy days. No one ever saw the tears run down his face as he flipped through old photo albums, his heart yearning for the love that had been taken from him. No one ever saw him dance in the dark to an old song, his arms around an invisible shadow that only his heart could see.
"I miss it." His words are choaked out as he fights for control. It shouldn't have been hard. He felt rather foolish for this display, but it seemed he couldn't help it. "I hide behind my work because I'm afraid... I'm afraid to let go of the things that have become shadows because I've clung to them for so long."
"If I ever I die, Mike, don't spend your life in loneliness."
"What a morbid topic. Pass me the popcorn."
"I mean it... please, I'm serious."
"Alright... but... why now?"
"Because these times with you are so special. I'd never trade them for the world and they make me feel like nothing else... and I know you feel the same."
"I do."
"So I don't want you to miss out on these times if I was ever gone."
"It's still morbid. We've only been married six months."
"Promise me, Mike. Promise if something ever happens that you'll move on. You deserve it."
Reese's eyes seem to come back from a journey that had only taken a split second, yet had taken him so very far away. He focuses on Angelica again, a new resolve forcing him to begin letting go. "And I've been afraid to love you. I know I haven't done all the things maybe you want... and I haven't gone out of my way enough times to show you I care. I was just... afraid. But Angelica..."
His other hands comes up to cradle the other side of her face. "...you've proven the impossible. That this heart can love again. I was just too afraid to admit it... until now."
Kip laughs and gives Karla back a big hug. "Woohoo! World, here we come!" Without thinking, he gives Karla a kiss on the forehead with a loud, "Mwah! You are going to be a fantastic manager!"
Kyle turns his head to Alice, a smile spreading as his eyes twinkled. For once, he wasn't dancing around with the others or being silly. He was too overcome. "We still got a long way to go," he mentions. "They may like us, but they may not have a spot for us."
Straightening up, he pulls Alice into a hug and kisses her head. "But we made it the first leg of the race... we did it... and that includes you. Without you, I never would be here right now."

Scared Teen
A feeling of releaf washed over Angelica seeing David wasn't making a big deal out of this but she couldn't help feeling a little bad for him.
Giving a small smile and a nod Angelica couldn't help but be happy to move on, this feeling was new to her about letting someone down and it didn't feel to good.
"You've always been my favorite partner as well. I'll see you tomorrow David."
Once left alone in the room Angelica just sits there for a long moment looking down at her paper work. David had said he had left hints and now she was turning him away. Was her own dream, or love for another returned? Angelica didn't know for sure because they both often worked so much but she wondered anyways. Would she rather find out now than wait?
Standing from her desk and leaving her paperwork for now Angelica opens the door David had closed part of the way on his way out. Stepping out and seeing Reese Angelica couldn't help the smile that formed on her lips. Just from seeing him her heart already raced.
Closing the space between them Angelica wasn't sure what compelled her own actions tonight. Was it late? Was it the realization that she did have strong feeling for Reese she didn't know but she couldn't be stopped now.
Drawing so close to Reese she could smell his aftershave. Not saying anything for a moment Angelica looking deep into his eyes her own twinkle. Bringing a hand to the side of his face she runs her thumb over his cheek.
"Excuse me for a moment, I need...to see something."
Drawing close to Reese Angelica's lips brush his, than press softly to his own, her warmth and passion soaking through as the feelings in her stomach grew, and her heart raced. Letting the moment linger Angelica pulled away her voice a soft whisper.
"I was right..I do love you Mike Reese."
After her words are out Angelica bits her bottom lip just a little like a scared teenager who just asked out her true love. Would she be the one turned away now?

Casual
Seeing the look in Angelica's eye and hearing her words, David's hand slowly slides from her face, his shoulders dropping slightly. Sitting back a little more to give her more space, a small smile comes to his lips and he shakes his head.
"No... no, you never led me on, Angelica. I guess it was always just an unattainable dream of mine that I should have let go a long time ago when I saw you weren't interested. It's not your fault - it's mine." Now it was he who felt foolish. "I'm sorry." His smile widens. "You'll always have been my favorite partner though."
Turning back to the table, he gathers up his papers and puts them in his briefcase, standing, ready to leave for the night. "I'm going to head back to the hotel," he mentions casually, totally leaving behind what had just happened between them. "I'll see you in the morning over at the jail to meet with Gunner."

YOU HAVE TO REPLY!
A disappointment seemed to sweep over the room dragging everyone down. Alice looked to Kyle feeling so bad. They had tried so hard and to denied was horrible. Looking down again Alice looks at her pad of paper just tapping the pen for a long moment.
But hearing Kyle talk again Alice looks up at him, the sound of his voice was so strong, it was easy to tell he meant what he said no matter who said yes or no.
As the music starts Alice can feel the rush that washed over her. The Band, Kyle Mitts, this...this was who they really were no matter who liked it and who didn't. Claping her hands together Alice's own excitement ran strong mixing with the bands.
The music started a die and even though she had only watched Alice's heart started racing a smile was on her face, Karla sitting so still next to her as well. Both turning slowly to look out the glass as Zeke and Tonya again, silence rained as the waited.
Letting out a loud whoop as the new they had been waiting for comes Karla didn't care where they were as she jumped from her chair running the short way to Kip and throwing her arms around his neck in a huge hug.
"You guys did it...I...cant believe it...I am going to be your manager and you...you guys are gonna be rock stars."
Standing the smile grows on Alice's face and though she didnt jump up and down her eyes twinkled with her own excitement as she made her way over to Kyle. Laying a hand on his shoulder she leans her head into his.
"Kyle, you guys did it..you guys made it."
Hearing David's words and feeling his hand on her face Angelica quirks an eyebrow for a moment completely clueless to what he was talking bout. But as David leans in closer to her Angelica soon seemed to understand what this was all about.
Feeling his lips brush to her Angelica is stunned, her own eyes falling shut not knowing what else to do...her lips seeming to part a little welcoming Davids kiss. The warmth of his lips just passing over her, so soft, so light.
As David pulls away Angelica still feels stunned...everything happened so fast, and she never had any idea that David though of her more. Hearing his plea for Angelica to come back to with him she didn't know what to say, and she felt all shaky on the inside, but something was different, something seemed off. There was no butterfly flutter, and there was no racing heart. There was only shock. David had road in to sweep her away, but...Angelica didn't want to leave.
Looking David in the eyes Angelica's own reflected emotions, and love but for someone other than David himself and she hated that in the long run maybe she had lead him on.
"I...I can't David. This is were I belong now, this is my home."
Though the kiss they had both sheared was nice, and it did indeed throw her for a loop it was not David's lips she wanted more of. There kiss, had given her the realization of who's lips she wanted pressed to her own.
"If I lead you on in anyway David I am so sorry. I feel like a total idiot, and your such a sweet guy someone maybe I could of grown close to once upon a time, but now...even if he doesn't know it, even if he never knows it my heart belongs to him. I love Mike Reese and thats what holds me here, and causes me to work late hours. I'm so sorry David."
Her eyes begged him not to be angry at her, she really did feel quite stupid right now. David was a stunning man with a lot to offer a woman. Maybe back a long time ago Angelica could of been that woman, but now..this this was her home.

Guilty
David can't help a grin as Angelica brings his face down to her level. But her kiss to his cheek just produces a sigh he can't contain, even though a small chuckle follows.
"Angelica... why do you torture me so? You've been doing it for years. Call me a fool for not giving up long ago. You really are something."
Just looking at her, he searches her eyes. Was she really so clueless? Did she really not see the look in his own eye that begged her to return his affection? He hadn't wanted a token peck on the cheek - was she toying with him? Brushing him off? Or just completely in the dark? He places his bet on the last one.
Leaning in closer to her, it's his turn to lift a hand, and it goes to cradle the side of Angelica's face, his warm palm caressing her soft cheek. "How many hints does a man have to drop?" he asks quietly. "I'm clean out, and all I have left is a blatant statement." He looks deeply into her eyes, searching them, wanting them. "I guess my plea is guilty... guilty of having you in my sights from day number one."
Cocking his head, he closes the gap between them, pressing his lips tenderly to hers. He doesn't force it and doesn't rush, but lets the kiss linger gently with a warm passion. Pulling back, his hand his still on her cheek. "Come back with me," he begs softly. "When this is all over, come back with me to California."
"They don't like us," Theo blurted in disbelief, breaking the strange silence. "I can't believe it."
Erik blinked. They'd all been so hyped up and so hopeful... it seemed too sudden to realize just now that the band wasn't liked. Their whole future was riding on this one day.
Twila bit her lip and looked at the rest of the band, then down to Alice and Karla, searching for some reassurance. Russ ran a hand over his face and paced a little, his guitar still hanging from his shoulder. Kip sat back on his stool, feeling his shoulders sagging. There was no doubt. Just looking back and seeing Tanya and Zeke conversing, the blindest person could see that they were seconds away from telling them thanks but no thanks.
Kyle gives Alice a last look, something changing in his eyes. Maybe it was realization. Maybe it was determination. Maybe it was even a bit of craziness. Spinning back around, he points to Theo. "Click us off for More to Life."
Theo looks at him, dumbfounded. "What? Our two songs are over, man."
"I don't care, click us off or I will."
Erik's eyebrows rise. "Kyle, what are you doing? More to Life isn't what I'd call easy listening."
"That's just it." Kyle holds out his hands and looks around at all the others. "We came at this all wrong, don't you see? We were too scared to be ourselves."
"But we didn't want to scare them off," Russ argues.
"Why not?" Kyle shakes his head. "Sure, we came at it thinking we better behave and play nice. Why wouldn't we? It seems logical. But these guys aren't looking for what's already out there. Sure, we gave the first song our twist, but face it - it was an old song. And Remind Me... It's great for a mid-concert lull, but these guys are obviously looking for something more. Something different. They're looking for us, and we haven't yet given us to them."
Twila isn't so sure, and she squints a little. "I don't know, Kyle... maybe we're too different for them. That's what we were trying to avoid."
"Well what on earth do we have to lose now?" Kyle counters. "If you wanna back out now, Twila, go ahead. The stairs are in front of you. But I'm going to show them who we are whether they asked for it or not." He looks to Theo again. "You gonna click us off or am I gonna have to stand here and do this myself?"
Shaking his head, Theo finally grins and holds up his drumsticks. "They don't even have the sound system on, you know?"
Kyle smiles from ear to ear. "Then we'll just have to play loud."
Tonya and Zeke had just turned their mic back on to speak to the band again, when suddenly, they're met with music. Confused and looking a bit displeased, Zeke finally switches on the sound so they could at least hear what was going on.
The band started up again, this time in full swing. Kyle's hands flew down his keyboard, his voice coming in at just the right time.
You look both ways before you cross the street and,
You make sure you're not late.
You kiss your mama goodbye just like you know you oughta,
You know better than to make a debate.
But you're tired.
You think you're doin' everything right.
But you're tired.
You doin' all that you been taught.
Hey, hey, hey!
Twila's and Kip's voice join in to harmonize the backup vocals on this song that Kyle had written only a month before. It was upbeat. It was full of energy and it was different. Twila's electric violin sang amidst the other instruments, giving the song an edge that was unique to them. Kyle's voice was stronger than ever, passion flowing through him.
There's more to life than eatin' your veggies,
There's more than you can see.
Some people like it livin' under a bushel,
But you gotta believe there's something more out there.
There's more to life than keepin' your manners,
There's more than you been shown.
Some people like to camp out in their own boxes,
But you gotta believe there's something more out there.
You gotta believe there's something more out there.
Hey, hey, hey!
Kyle jumps up and down just as if they were playing to a concert of hundreds instead of just two in the back row. Giving up the keyboard, he grabs his mic and wanders across the stage, bouncing and totally ignoring Tonya and Zeke, but pointing directly to Alice - his most valued audience.
You take your quarter put it in the parking meter and,
You wave to the kid on the bike.
You never got a ticket driving up to see your grandma,
You gave six dollars to the guy with bad luck.
But you're tired.
You think you've got it all down pat.
But you're tired.
You're living just like they told you how.
Hey, hey, hey!
Back to the keyboard, Kyle's energy doesn't cease. Sweat ran down the sides of his face as the others follow suit, playing their heart out. Whether Tonya and Zeke liked them or not, they were playing their hearts out.
Livin' like a robot isn't gonna get you nowhere.
Livin' like a droid just isn't gonna win the game
You gotta love in your heart,
Have faith in the unseen,
You gotta give your life away to the One who gave it to ya.
Hey, hey, hey!
There's more to life than eatin' your veggies,
There's more than you can see.
Some people like it livin' under a bushel,
But you gotta believe there's something more out there.
There's more to life than keepin' your manners,
There's more than you been shown.
Some people like to camp out in their own boxes,

You gotta believe there's something more out there.
Hey, hey, hey!
The intentional abrupt stop to the music creates a deathly echo in the room as a sudden silence takes over. Everyone was breathing heavily, hearts pounding. And Kyle looks with defiance to the back, staring straight into the eyes of Tonya and Zeke. His body language seemed to say, 'Try that on for size.'
The two agents exchange glances, and Tonya leans over to hit the mic, hesitating before she spoke through the speakers. "Kyle Mitts... and the rest of you..." She looks back to Zeke, then back to the band. "Why on earth did you show us that in the first place? You guys are awesome."
"Yes!" Kip throws up his hands and Theo's drumsticks go flying. Erik's eyes widen and he and Russ do a little happy dance right there on the stage.
Tonya can't help a little laugh. "Settle down, guys. I don't know what we can offer you, but take off your gear and come to the office so we can talk it over."
Chatter erupts as instruments are shed and a few whoops of excitement are let out. But amidst the fun, Kyle is still standing behind his keyboard, silent. He's leaning on the keyboard, his head bent, seeming to be completely set apart from the rest of the band.
"Angelica... why do you torture me so? You've been doing it for years. Call me a fool for not giving up long ago. You really are something."
Just looking at her, he searches her eyes. Was she really so clueless? Did she really not see the look in his own eye that begged her to return his affection? But you're tired.
You're living just like they told you how.
Hey, hey, hey!

There sound...
Dan rolls his own eyes giving a chuckle before putting his gloves into his back pocket. That would be the last thing Dylan needed to do before he was done, So Dan felt he couldn't show him anything else.
Turning he heads back to what was was doing wanting to finishing up polishing the horse equipment before he want to look for Jade.
Giving a laugh Angelica gives a little nod of her head. She remembered the victory dinners they use to have all the time. It was always nice to celebrate there achievements.
"If we want it to be like old times than yes, just the two of us."
Raising an eyebrow as David moves closer Angelica couldn't help but wonder what on earth he was doing. But hearing his comment it answers her question and she can't help but laugh once again turning her head to look at him.
"Your a ham you know that!"
Bringing her one had to the side of David's face Angelica brings it twords her and press her lips to his cheek letting them linger for a long moment before pulling away and letting her hand fall.
"There you go, your kiss."
Nodding her head to the music Alice listens. The band sounded better than ever today to her. Nerves were running high today but for some reason Alice felt that that just added to the great sound.
Holing her note pad in her lap she would look down taking a few notes, or raising her camera to take a few pictures here and there to add her her new article that would be published.
Sitting with Alice Karla felt a little out of place, but at the same time so very excited to be here. Her eyes never left Kip as she took in the music and listened. The worlds and the music were all so nice, but what amazed Karla even more was how Kips hands moved up and down the neck of the base guitar. Hitting every not perfect, it was truly an amazing talent.
As the music stops though Alice and Karla look at each other before looking to Zeke and Tonya and than back to the band. How could they not like the sound? There were amazing and on there top game tonight. There was no way they could say no....right?

Worry
Dylan follows Dan down to the straw and hay, understanding now which was which. Hearing Dan's little rhyme, he looks up at him with a lame look. "Cute," he replies dryly. "Do you have poems to remember everything?"
Something close to a grin turns up the corner of his mouth and he shakes his head. "I think I got it... without the rhyme." Grabbing a bale of straw by its twine, he hefts it up and carries it back towards the stalls.
David's eyes brighten a little bit at the suggestion of a dinner after they'd won their case. "Mmm... now that sounds like a good idea."
He slides a little closer. "Just the too of us?"
A grin curves his mouth. "You gonna give me that kiss for my timing perfection?"
Looking in the rearview mirror,
The past is quickly fading.
Winding roads, worn out signs,
Lights blurred by the speed.
I don’t know how I began,
I don’t know where it started.
I don’t know where this journey ends,
Or how I got so far.
Remind me of my origins,
Remind me why I’m here.
Remind me how I’ve come to know,
This love. This love.
Remind me.
Kyle's voice rings out clear and crisp as his fingers move along his keyboard. The band was sounding good. They'd arrived at the studio not long before, meeting Gary who had introduced them to Tonya and Zeke who were now in the back sound booth behind glass, listening through their sound system.
The band had done well, even though they all were nervous. Their first song had gone smoothly as they'd chosen a popular song to add their own little flare. Moving on to Remind Me, their tone was a little quieter, the mellow tones enough to sooth a weary soul.
Glancing back over my shoulder,
The past is quickly fading.
Twisting paths, broken bridges,
Circumstances dim.
I don’t know how I began,
I don’t know where this started.
I don’t know where this journey leads,
Or how I got so far.
Remind me of my origins,
Remind me why I’m here.
Remind me how I’ve come to know,
This love. This love.
Remind me.
Kyle looks out to see Alice and smiles as he sings, so glad that she was there. She'd been introduced as decided - a vital part of the band. As had been Karla as well.
Kip's fingers move along his bass guitar, his eyes glancing down into the couple rows of chairs in front of the platform to find Karla. A grin creases his lips. They were actually here, and this was their break. Tonya and Zeke had to like them - there was no way they couldn't.
My rearview mirror reveals the past,
A past that’s quickly fading.
I can’t see ‘round the bends of time,
I can’t see why I’m here.
But You’re still here behind the wheel,
And You know who I am.
Remind me of my origins,
Remind me why I’m here.
Remind me how I’ve come to know,
This love. This love.
Remind me.
This love. Your love.
Remind me.
Before the notes could even die away, Tonya waved through the glass and cut the sound system, speaking into her own mic. "Thanks, guys. You can cut it there. Be with you in five."
The band stops the music, all of them looking at each other with dread. Tonya's voice did not sound impressed. They thought they'd done well. They'd played clean and clear and they'd sounded good... hadn't they?
Smiles fade as they look at each other with worry. Kyle's eyes find Alice's as he gives her an uneasy glance. He looks back to the window to see Tonya and Zeke talking and shaking their heads. His eyes go back to Alice. They'd all be so sure... so confident. And they'd sounded good. Why were the agents unhappy with them? He didn't understand, and he felt like he was letting the band down.

I could kiss you
Giving a smile Dan payed no comment to Dylan's complaining though he did listen to him to hear what he was saying. Dylan would have to find his own nitch in doing things to make it easyer on him but at least no he had a guideline to follow to help.
"We are all misfits in one way or another. I think your dad still hates me."
Dan takes off his own gloves pulling the bandanna from his pocket and wiping his face with it. It was on the warmer side today but it felt good after the cold spell.
Hearing Dylan's comment about the straw and hay Dan smiles again giving a small wave to follow him as he walks to where two differnt stack of straw and hay were. Taking a peace hay Dan hands it to Dylan.
"This here is hay. Its green in color so its easy to tell apart from the straw. Horses eat the hay, its used as feed, and can consist of clovers or alfalfa..."
Moving back a few steps Dan picks up some straw and hands it to Dylan as well.
"Straw is thicker, tougher and a golden color. This is used for there bedding not to eat. So an easy way to remember is...Green means its good to eat and golden brown is bad to eat but good to sleep."
"David you are amazing, and right on time too, I could kiss you for your perfect timing. I just finished composing all this evidence we can use in the case."
Angelica look over her computer screen at David Angelica gives a wide smile. It did feel good working with him again. She'd never say anything, or want to change it but it got a little lonely not having a partner to work with like old times.
Feeling a little color come to her cheeks at Davids comment her eyes sparkled a little as she continued to look at David giving a little nod.
"Good byes always do suck, I really have enjoyed working on this case with you. We are going to have to have a celebration dinner before you go back home. Maybe find a nice place were we can dress up and just have a nice meal and some drinks like in the old days."

Careening off into the ditch
Though he worked grudgingly, it was surprising that Dylan didn't give Dan any lip about continuing the work. He accepted the help, though not saying much, and tried to get it right, mainly so he wouldn't be here for a week just trying to clean up after his own spills. Most of it made sense. Some of it he knew he'd have to find his own way to do since he wasn't as tall or strong as Dan, but overall the tips helped some.
Starring at the wheelbarrow, Dylan shakes his head. "Too far away and I knock the thing over. Too close and I run my shins into it. Those things are the most dang blasted things I've ever worked with."
Sighing, he folds his arms and looks at Dan, realizing that he really did sound ridiculous. "Yeah well... maybe a few times to the manure pile and at least I'll master it enough to not go careening off into the ditch somewhere. I'd probably land in the mess myself and no one would ever find me." He smirks a little, his eyes. "Not that anybody would care. I'm the misfit that everybody knows should be in juvie."
Dylan shakes his head and takes off his gloves to flex his sore fingers. He'd worked hard before, but not like this. How on earth did his sister actually enjoy this kind of thing?
Glancing around at the stalls, he sighs again. "I guess I need clean straw, right? If I leave this half done, I'll wind up with a tongue lashing again and I'm really not in the mood." He looks at Dan again, really not liking asking for help, but feeling better about asking Dan than anybody else. "I don't... know the difference between hay and straw," he admits. "But I do know if I put the wrong one down, I'll get a kick to the butt along with the tongue lashing."
Around the corner, no one saw that Jade had entered the barn. She'd been listening quietly and watching Dan and Dylan interact. She couldn't help the surprise she felt. Dylan was actually... talking to Dan. He was kinda grouchy, but he was actually conversing and staying relatively calm, despite complaining. That was more than she'd seen since he'd gotten here. Maybe there was hope after all.
"Ohhhh I am so good." David leans back in his chair and hangs up the phone, spreading his arms behind his head and grinning at Angelica. It had been another long work day, but today had been worth it.
"He agreed to bump up the hearing to this week instead of next month. So...." He takes up some papers and shuffles them around. "Looks like we got some evidence to present."
This was what he loved... success and winning the battles one at a time. "Gunner's gonna be thrilled. Now all we have to do is work on the temporary insanity plea. We got Bree taken care of and JT never had to get involved, so looks like Gunner's the only thing we gotta focus on."
He nods with satisfaction, looking over to Angelica again. "I can taste victory, but this time it will be bittersweet. I'll have to say goodbye to my favorite partner again and that's no fun at all."

Explnation
Giving a small chuckle and standing with Leo Cassy nods a little. Now she had something to look forward to this weekend rather than just spending the time alone doing nothing.
"This weekend sounds great. Thanks Leo."
Walking with Leo to the door Cassy didn't want the laughter to end but she new it had too. It was getting late, and they both needed bed. She'd see him again for sure this weekend.
"Dinner was no trouble. Felt good to cook again. Have a great night Leo."
Giving a wave and watching him pull out of the parking lot Cassy stands in the door way even after the tail lights are gone. Letting out a small sigh and taking in a deep breath of air Cassy finally goes back inside. Dishes awaited her, and than a little relaxation before bed.
Looking down at the young man Dan could see the pain that lied behind his eyes. There was a deeper pain there that was hard for anyone to see but Dan did take note to it.
Giving a light chuckle Dan still leans on the shovel for a long moment as he contemplates his own answer.
"Yeah Mick can be a hard butt thats for sure. I've had the blunt end of his words a few times myself. Taking some getting use to but in time you do, and you just realize thats Mick and he is only trying to do whats best. Even if we don't see it."
Pushing off the shovel and starting to throw some of the manure and hay into the barrel again Dan is quiet for a long moment before turning to Dylan once more.
"When you hold your shovel try holding it firmer in your hands. The less it slides around the less chance you will get blisters. Don't get me wrong though your hands will still hurt, and you will get rough spots on your hand but non of those annoying bubbles."
Handing Dylan his shovel back Dan shows him how to grip the handle tight, and where to but his hands.
"You also are gonna want to lift with your legs not your back. Last thing you wanna feel is turning the wrong way and throwing something out of wack."
Continuing to work helping Dylen its not time before the wheel barrel is full again. Though still stuck where Dylan had the problem before it was full, and the last stall cleaned. Putting his shovel down and moving close to the wheel barrel Dan explains once more.
"When your moving the wheel barrel your going to want to grip both the hands closer to the base like this..."
Dan does a quick demonstration.
"..It gives you more leverage and control on if the barrel will tip or not. Here, you try."
Dan steps out of the way to let Dylan try to push the wheel barrel the way he showed him.

Nobody else
Leo chuckles and nods to Cassy. "Yeah... yeah I can help fix 'er up for ya. Won't take but maybe a new board, some nails and a bit of paint. We could fix the trim around the windows at the same time too, if you wanted."
Tapping a finger on the table, he finally gets up, knowing that if he didn't, he'd stay too long. "I got the weekend off... so I'll give you a call for when we can do that."
Hooking his hands in his pockets he cocks his head at Cassy, smiling a little. "Thanks for supper, Cass. It was nice."
Dylan doesn't move as Dan approaches to start helping clean up. Hearing the offer, he quirks an eyebrow, a scowl still on his face. "The only thing that would make this easier is to get Mick Henson off my back," he grumbles.
Sighing with discontent, he stands up anyway and shrugs lamely. "Go for it. Nobody else wants to teach me how to do anything."

If you have to pee
Keeping her arms around Kyle Alice snuggled a little more under the blankets she didnt want Kyle to leave ether. She felt calm and comfortable with him here.
"Mmmm...well...you just stay right there than because I am comfortable too. If you have to pee in the middle of the night or something than you can leave."
Giving a little chuckle Alice keeps her arms around Kyle. Her eyes starting to shut, and soon she had drifted fast asleep with a smile on her face.
Pushing her own plate back on the table Cassy takes a sip of her water. Man had she really over eaten today but she felt so comfortable and everything tasted so good. It had been a while since she herself had, had such a good meal.
Knowing it was late Cassy new Leo would have to be going soon, though a part of her wished the night would not end. It was nice having someone to chat with, and just fill the empty space with company.
Giving a thoughtful nod Cassy cross her arms on the table leaning in just a little bit. Thinking for a long moment as a grin makes it's way across her face.
"You know I noticed that and I was going to ask, but since you mentioning it instead, if Leo's Hero repair service isnt busy sometime maybe you could take care of it for me?!"
Hearing the noise in the stalls Dan raises an eyebrow twords where Dylan was working. Though it was undetected Dan had been watching him not being able to help but feel a little bad for the young man. He new Dylan had gotten himself in trouble but he also new if not use to it Mick's harshness could be taken to heart to much.
Leaving his work for a moment Dan moves over to where Dylan was working and turns the wheel barrel up right once again. Starting to scoop what had fallen into the isle back into Dylan's wheel barrel. Looking down at him Dan gives a small smile leaning on his shovel for a moment.
"If you want I can show you somethings that will make this a little bit easier if you like."

No one wants to move lol
Kyle had already begun to relax, sitting here with Alice, and being so comfortable, his eyes have already drifted shut. "My pleasure," he mumbles in response.
Sighing deeply, he doesn't move. "I don't wanna get up," he admits groggily. "You're too good at being a pillow. It's not fair." He knew he should get back to his own bed now. Alice had helped calm his nerves and he'd gotten to say goodnight. But he just didn't want to move.
Just seeing Cassy laugh sent Leo into his own laughter, feeling utterly stupid but glad they could both laugh about it. When she's finally through, he nods, wiping a tear from his own eye. "Okay, I promise... no more unthinkable comments." He holds up his hand as if vowing. "We shall dine in peace."
And they did. While no more embarrassing remarks were shared, light conversation and more laughter was. Having started out just as little leery at first, by the middle of the meal, Leo was quite comfortable, enjoying the food and conversation. If he'd been home, it would have been a tv dinner and no one to talk to.
Sinking back in his chair as he's finished eating, Leo does his best not to belch too loudly - though competitions in the auto shop made for some hard-to-break habits. "I will say one thing for you Cassy... you do know how to cook."
He grins and takes a swallow of water. "Been a long time since I had chicken that good... thank you."
His watch ticked away on his wrist. The air became silent again as Leo's eyes were caught in a stare for a moment. He knew he couldn't linger all night, but it was warm and cozy in her apartment and his stomach was full. It made for a dangerous combination, making his mind a little lethargic and making him want to just stay a while longer before he left. "I noticed the eves above the door on the studio could use some work," he comments thoughtfully.
Knowing BJ was outside for a while and content looking for crickets, Mick just stays on the couch a while longer, enjoying Rosetta's company. His back hurt and there was a lot of work waiting for him outside, but these moments were getting rarer, and he didn't want to miss out on any more than he had to.
Kissing her back, he runs a hand through her hair, reminded of how soft it was. "I know it will," he replies quietly. "With God and you, I don't know how I could go wrong."
Though it hurt a bit, he shifts a little more so he can lie on his back and hold Rosetta on his chest. He sighs deeply, his heart thumping rhythmically. Just a few more minutes...
Dylan wipes the sweat from his brow with a gloved hand, hot, miserable, sweaty and tired. Stall number four and one to go after that. He could imagine though, that he'd be in here for the duration of chores... his father hadn't been messing around today and more than likely was going to squeeze all he could out of him.
Glancing out and down a ways, he catches sight of Dan and watches for just as moment. It was strange to think that that was going to be his brother-in-law. He felt too young for that. He thought his sister was too young for that too, but she'd always been a go-getter and he'd learned to stay out of her way once she set her mind to something. Whether it be in a week or five years, Dylan was confident that Jade would marry Dan just like she wanted to, with or without anybody's go-ahead.
Sighing, Dylan turns away from Dan to work some more, knowing he'd get in trouble for pausing if caught. Throwing another shovel full of manure into the wheelbarrow, he misses half of it, sending the soiled bedding into the aisle. Growling in frustration, he decides to go empty the wheelbarrow for now, even though it wasn't quite full. He needed the fresh air.
However, this stall happened to be just a little deeper and the extra shove it took to get the wheelbarrow back out into the aisle proved fatal. Dylan didn't have much practice with wheelbarrows, so once the weight started to shift, there was no stopping it. Soiled straw and manure go everywhere.
At his breaking point, Dylan can't stand it any longer. Giving a swift kick to the wheelbarrow does nothing but make his foot hurt and instead of cleaning up now, he leans back against the wall and slides his thin frame down to the floor, his knees up near his chest. He couldn't even clean stalls right. He really was a loser.

Funny Bone
Seeing Leo back away a little Cassy puts the plates down on the counter. About to go for something else in a draw Cassy stops as Leo takes her hand again. As he gives it a small kiss Cassy knows its in a joking manor but she can feel her heart wanting to be put into lock down. Yet she willed it not to, not with Leo he was her friend and she didn't want that to happen.
About to say something silly once more Cassy stops at Leo talks again. Just staring at him for a long moment Cassy just blinks. Not sure if she wanted to laugh or not. Finally though a smile breaks on her face again as she gives a little nod to Leo.
"Yes, yes you did. I'm not THAT old you know."
Shaking her head and giving another laugh it started to grow a little louder. Leaning on the counter Cassy can't stop as tears form in her eyes. Looking up at Leo Cassy couldn't help her laughter and finally it stops and she can finally talk.
"Oh Leo...I am so sorry I don't have any idea what got into me...I guess that just hit my funny bone. Why...why don't we eat now. I promise I won't say anymore cheesy pick up lines, as long as you dont call me a white wall, with rusty pipes."
Giving a little giggle at Kyle Alice tightens her grip around him giving him a kiss to the top of the head. Alice loved these moments just cuddling with Kyle and showing there affection.
"I don't care what I am, as long as I am with you Kyle."
Leaning her head against his for a long moment Alice felt so comfortable she could fall asleep. Everything about Kyle just made her fall deeper into him, and enjoying the moment.
"Kyle, thanks for just being you, and letting me enjoy the spot light with you."
Being pulled down closer to Mick Rosetta looks deep into his eyes. She loved being this close to hi and shearing every moment of her life with him.
Bringing her finger to his eye Rosetta gently whips underneath it. Bringing her lips to his own Rosetta lets the quiet moment that was there linger for this moment. It wasnt often they got free time but when they did it was even better.
"I love you so much Mick. Everything will work out, I know it will."

Rusty pipes
Feeling lighter sensations on his back, a grin creases Mick's lips as he realizes Rosetta is giving him gentle kisses. He'd never tire of her affection.
Sighing deeply, he has to agree with her. "Yeah... I guess I'm having a hard time letting God take over. I just want... peace. Punishment is just turning Dylan further away from me... but he stole from Angel and won't even say why - I can't just do nothing, can I?"
He pauses, just trying to let Rosetta's hands help him relax. After a few minutes though, he shifts to be a little more on his side and pulls Rosetta down closer to him so her head could rest against his chest. There was moisture in his eyes that only she would ever see and no one else. His heart was in pieces and he just couldn't get them glued back together again.
He kisses the top of her head and runs his hand up and down her arm lovingly. "I love you," he whispers. "Thank you for standing by me." He quirks a little grin. "Or sitting with me."
Settling in close with Alice, Kyle doesn't think twice about it. They often cuddled together when they were alone, with more affection shown when not in public. It was a pure love, innocent and free of any intentions other than simply spending time together.
Resting his head on her shoulder, his arm drapes over her waist as he listens to her. "You're so nice." The comment was less than eloquent and he laughs at himself, giving Alice a little squeeze. "I don't know how I'd survive all this without you... I mean that."
Without warning, he starts to laugh again, the bed shaking slightly. "Remember when I called you pepper?" It had been on top of the ferris wheel... and it seemed like a lifetime ago. "I think it shoulda been something more... like tabasco sauce."
Cassy's comeback makes Leo's eyes widen a little, but he can't help laughing along with her, realizing that she'd been trying to make him feel better, but it wound up that both of them were stuck in their own speaking before thinking.
Grinning, he shakes his head and starts to say something when she speaks again. Feeling her hand next to his and hearing the new softness in her tone, Leo stops, pausing for what seemed way too long.
His hand seems to have a mind of its own as it shifts a little to rest on top of hers. "You're welcome," he replies quietly.
A whisper in his conscience warns him and he backs off, giving her a silly grin and breaking his own moment. Taking her hand, he gives a dramatic low bow, kissing the top of her hand. "Anything for a distressed damsel with bare walls and rusty pipes."
Widening his eyes a little, he remains bent in his bow. "I think I just said something stupid again."

Little Extra
Smiling a little seeing the body response from Mick on her rubbing his back Rosetta liked knowing she was happy Mick feel better and he still liked when she have him back rubs.
Continuing Rosetta giggles a little as he told her to be gentile on the one spot. Being called cowgirl made her think of a past long gone. She'd never change her life for anything but sometimes she still did miss when things just seemed a little more simple.
Leaning down Rosetta brings her lips to the sore spot on Mick's back giving it a gentile kiss before making a tiny trail up his spin of kisses. Drawing away and continuing to run again Rosetta just sits smiling.
"We have to trust God will let things work out with Dylan. He's the only one who knows whats going on and why, when the time is right he will show us what to do and whoever Dylan does go to, to talk with God will give them the strength on what to say. We just have to keep strong and be there for when Dylan does need us."
Giving a little laugh at Leo's comment Cassy has her own bit of red coming to her cheeks. Seeing Leo himself blush a little bit she felt even worse now that he felt so embarrassed for what he said. Her own eyes sparking a little as she thinks of a way to help Leo not feel to embarrassed.
"Psht, I finally realize why my knee hurts a little extra today, I've been chasing after you all day."
Now it was Cassy's turn to turn a red even more. She was trying to make Leo feel better and was now embarrassing herself with her horrible comments.
"Ok, that was really corny but...its all I could think of on short notice."
Finally looking away Cassy laughs again before looking back to Leo, her cheek a bright crimson color now. Finally reaching out and taking the plates from Leo her hand brush his for a moment just resting against it for a lingering moment.
"Thank you Leo..."
Her statement linger for a moment in the air, maybe an implament of a deeper meaning to the thanks.
"...for rescuing this damsel in distress."
Alice's smile grows even more as Kyle steps into the room. Shutting the door behind him she stands there for a long moment before nodding twords the bed so they could sit comfortably.
"I was way to excited and nervous myself to sleep so you weren't bothering me at all. Though even if I was sleeping you wouldn't be bothering me. Your presence is always welcome no matter what I am doing."
Waiting for Kyle to join her on the bed Alice props the pillows up and stretches her arm over his back and shoulders. Pulling him close to her she gives him the comfort she know he needed.
"You guys are going to great tomorrow I know you are. This has what you guys have been waiting for, for a long time and now that its here you guys are ready and I am so proud of you. And no matter what happens that will never change you always make me happy, not because your a big star or you have a band because you Kyle Mitts and you enjoy being you."

Tangled tongue
Kyle grins but bites his lip as Alice comes to the door. "Yeah... everything's okay. I just... couldn't sleep and..." He shrugs a little, searching her eyes as he steps into the bedroom at her beckoning.
"It's a big day tomorrow and you're the only one I'd tell that I'm scared to death and... I just thought maybe... I could borrow your company for a while." He quickly gives her another option though. "Unless you were asleep - then I don't want to bug ya." It was evident in his eyes that tomorrow meant a great deal to him and he was worried. He needed an arm around his shoulders tonight, when he had no one else around. It was Alice he needed to help him meet this new adventure.
A hero? Leo's face colored slightly, but a really good feeling seemed to settle somewhere inside. He'd felt pretty low lately, not knowing where he fit and just trying to find his way. Being told he'd helped... it felt good. It made him feel useful instead of just a clumsy mechanic. Maybe he couldn't have please Ryan, but at least he could make someone happy.
Cassy's need of assistance brings a grin to his face and he nods, setting his coffee mug down. "If I said no, I might not get any of that delicious smelling supper."
Ambling over to her, he has to scoot in next to her at the counter, reaching up over her head to retrieve a couple plates. On the way back down, his elbow catches her shoulder briefly. "Oh, sorry..." He rolls his eyes at himself. "I've been hitting on you-" He blinks. "I mean hitting you all day..." Blinking again, he starts to laugh, feeling stupid for his tangled tongue. "Uh, yeah. Plates. Here."
Mick lets Rosetta take his hat and shirt, settling back down with his head on the cushion, his eyes falling shut. He'd never tire of the sound of her soft voice, or the feel of her gentle hands. He grunts a little as she hits a sore spot, but he lets her keep rubbing, knowing it would do him good.
Listening to her, he sighs. "Yeah... I thought about that too," he admits. "I just don't think he'd take the love treatment from me. Tried that a bit at the McClain's and it got me nowhere." He thinks for a few moments, wishing things hadn't gone so wrong today. "Maybe I'm not the one he's gonna open up to though. I think you're right. I think he's scared. But I can't figure out why, for the life of me. He just won't talk."
Cringing as Rosetta's thumb hits the knot again, he sucks in his breath. "Mm... easy, cowgirl."

Maybe
Way to excited to fall asleep Karla moves around what had become her bedroom. Playing music softly Karl stepped into her closet to look at the few cloths she now owned. It wasn't much but she had picked up things along the way.
Now she tried to deiced what she would wear tomorrow, what she might need if the record company liked the Band, and what she would need to buy still. It was all so fun and exciting she could hardly contain it. Though she felt shy, and down to earth about it with the others on the inside she really did feel like she was going to pop.
Laying in bed just staring at the ceiling the night had been way to exciting to fall asleep yet. Everything seemed to come in the right time and yet it all seemed so fast. Not that Alice minded as long as she was with Kyle.
Sitting up in the bed at a scratching sound Alice just looks at the door for a long moment. There were no doges or cats here so it wasn't that. The only other thing she could think of was Kyle.
Turning the covers back and slipping off the bed Alice grabs the over stuffed hoody that was on the chair next to the bed and slips it over her head.
Letting her bear feet scuff across the floor Alice goes to the door and opens it slightly. Seeing Kyle a smile forms on her face opening it a little wider motioning for him to come in. She couldn't help but worry a little with him coming to her this late at night.
"Hey you! Everything ok?"
Still sitting with Leo the warm glass in her hand Cassy sips the liquid again. It was nice just sitting here chatting with Leo about anything. It didn't seem to matter what the topic was they found something to talk about.
Hearing him make mention about her being one of the people who shine Cassy can feel the color come to her cheeks. It was nice of Leo to say that about her and a twinkle forms in her eye. He was just being nice right? Or was he flirting? Surely he wasn't...right?
"Bright future huh? You realize I would have given up on the studio if you hadnt been willing to help right? After the crew that had been working there left I was at my wits end and I saw everything fall in front of me once again. I guess...that makes you a hero too and that is certainly something to shine about as well."
Standing Cassy sets her cup on the table limping slowly over to the stove opening it and checking on the chicken before shutting the door and letting it cook a little while longer.
Going over to the far cupboard she tries to reach the top shelf but just cant seem to get it and standing on her tip toes her knee would just not hold her weight any more than it already would today. Giving a heavy sigh of frustration Cassy turns to Leo and gives another smile her cheeks growing a little redder for having to ask him.
"You don't think you could grab two of those plates down for me would you? I just can't seem to reach today."
As Mick comes back into the office BJ moves away from the window ready for his hug like Mick always gave him since he had been back. Backing away a little bit and looking up at Mick, BJ's eyes seem to light up a little.
"Crickets....!!!!!! I'll get him this time."
Running into the other little room that had been set up for him BJ grabs his little bucket that had some dirt and grass in it along with a plastic shovel. Passing through the office again BJ heads for the door and is outside in a flash down on his hands and knees searching through the grass.
Watching BJ leave the office Rosetta shakes her head a smile on her face. She new things were hard with Dylan right now, and she loved her step children will all her heart but she was happy at least the had one calm one. As calm as it was going to get for now anyways.
"You can tell he's a Henson will all that energy."
Giving Mick a grin Rosetta watches him go over to the couch and lay down. By his body language alone she could tell he was hurt in more ways than one. Standing Rosetta makes her way over to the couch and sits for on the edge turning herself a little to face Mick.
She new Mick was going though so much right now and he was doing well to keep it together but his body and mind were taking such a beating. Rosetta had her own thought on this thing but the last thing she wanted to do was have Mick feel like she was telling him how to raise Dylan. But if she found the right words maybe it wouldn't feel that way at all.
"I guess teenager are be worse than those horses surprising as it sounds."
Lifting Mick's shirt Rosetta reachs out and takes his hat off before gentile lifting the shirt over his head. Letting him lay back down on his chest Rosetta brings her hands to his back gently starting to rub and massage his back. Working on the knots and the tight spots she found trying her best to loosen his back up.
"Maybe...this is just a guess because goodness knows we went exactly the best teens out there. Maybe Dylan is scaired and all he really needs it a hug and someone to tell him it will be ok. What he's scared of I don't know, but maybe at least its a start to solving the problem."

Master of none
Dylan glares at Mick, his fingers gripping the pitchfork handle. Standing in the middle of a stall full of horse manure was one of the worst things he could think of. But here he was, being forced to clean it out.
"I'll be back later to check on you," Mick informs coolly. "But don't think I won't know if you stop or dillydally. I want these five stalls cleaned by suppertime and I mean clean."
"But-"
"No buts." Mick shakes his head firmly. "Today was the last straw, Dylan. You're earning your keep from now on." Not waiting for a response, he spins on his heel and stalks down the aisle. Catching sight of Dan, he nods his head back towards the stalls. "If he causes any trouble or walks away from his work, let me know right away."
Heading out of the barn, Mick aims back towards the office where he'd been working before this whole mess had started. Once inside, he gives BJ a big hug, sure to give him some attention. "How about you go out and see if you can find any crickets yet? I think I heard one chirping last night." He aims the youngster towards the door. "But stay out of the barn for now, okay?" He gives BJ a look that tells him he's not kidding around. "I'll find ya later so you can help me with chores."
Once alone with Rosetta in the office, instead of going back to the desk, Mick trudges to the old couch in the corner and eases down on his stomach with a groan. "I'm too old for this," he mumbles into the cushion. "Dylan did a good job on me today - I feel like I got bucked off a horse instead of just pushed over by a teenager."
Staying where he is and not moving eases the pain in his back, but the pain in his heart persists. Maybe he really did need to just let go and let Dylan leave.
Leo grins as he receives the mug of coffee, holding it up for a second. "You remember well." She must have been paying attention the last few times they'd had coffee at the studio.
Hearing her question, he laughs and shakes his head, leaning back a little more casually in his chair. "Talents? Mmm... skills maybe, but not talents. I'm a jack of all trades but a master of none."
Still smiling he takes a sip of his coffee, enjoying it for a moment. "Maybe one day I'll be good at something. For now its a mediocre world for me. But I guess if it weren't for us mediocre folks, then no one else would shine above the rest." He laughs again. "Somebody's gotta wind up with the short end of the stick. Easy job most days but the pay stinks."
He gives Cassy a sidelong glance, studying her for a moment. "You, on the other hand... you're the kind that's gonna shine. Knocked down, but you're right back up again. Starting your own studio... others would kill for that kind of opportunity, let alone the guts. You've got a bright future, Cassy, mark my words."
Erik can't help but laugh at Karla's end statement. "On the contrary, the way my mom talks about you, I think she'll be glad for you to come with us so there's at least one level-head in this bunch."
Kip grins from ear to ear, knowing that he usually instigated much of the frivolity that went on. He and Kyle made a wicked team when it came to teasing and making the others laugh.
"Alright." Erik stands up, stretching. "Big day tomorrow. I don't know about the rest of you, but I for one am turning in."
As the little group disperses, a few stay for the night and a few go to their own homes, all too excited to sleep, but too wise not to at least try. The big house becomes quiet and still, nightlights keeping a faint glow down the long hallways.
Everybody is eventually tucked away for the night, but one figure quietly pads down the hallway and stops at Alice's door, scratching on it softly. Kyle didn't know if she was asleep or not. If he knocked, it would wake her, but if she was awake, she'd hear the scratching.
