Warm feeling

Hearing up the sidewalk Beth's stride was a little slower than normal making her late on her visit. It had been a rough night for her with little sleep, but prying herself out of bed she was here again today like always. Never would she miss a day because of her own problems when her sister needed her more.

Walking with her head down and not paying to much attachen to where she was going Beth gives a glance up finally coming to a screeching halt as she almost runs right into Justin. Taking a few steps back she recovers giving just a few blinks.

"Oh Justin, Hi...I'm sorry I didn't mean to just almost blow you over. You seem to be in a normal mood other than a little lost."

Looking up at him and studying his face for a long moment she wondered if he had lost something. He certainty did look like he did, balls, paint, what could it be now?

"Mmmm...I missed you too. It's hard being a shadow without someone to follow."

Leaning over to Kyle and giving him a kiss Alice smiles it felt good to be with Kyle again. The night had been long and lonely her apartment feeling to quiet but she had made it through non the less.

Cuddling just a little bit with Kyle they were finally off again. Though they talked a little here and there on there way for the most part it was quiet. Knowing they were going to the beach for a picnic Alice wasn't sure where on the beach so not pulling into the normal area she didnt worry knowing Kyle new right where he was going.

Finally stopping and seeing Kyle get out Alice gets out and follows. Taking in a breath of the air it felt nice to be here. Being on the water front Alice loves it, the smell, the sound it was really great. Finding Kyle's hand with her own Alice holds on to it her fingers locked with his as she listens to him tell her about this place.

Just staying quiet her eyes search his taking in what he said and listing. A warm new feeling building inside knowing he took her here before anyone else. That this special place was theirs, and only there to share. It made her feel so warm and fuzzy.

Smiling as Kyle fills her in and lets her know he wanted her to know the parts of him and the people no one else new made her feel very good inside, it was nice to know she meant that much to Kyle.

"Ok Crazy..."

Alice's smile grows even more at her little bit of humor of calling Kyle crazy like he asked.

"....I'd love to get to see these places, and your family. Getting to know the deeper you is a wonderful thing and something I look forward to very much. I don't think it will be scare ether, not as long as your next to me. We are strong together."

Looking out at the water again for a moment Alice's hair blows in the soft wind, the rays from the sun warming her face as the water sang there song against the rocks.

"This is such a lovely place, I can't wait to see more with you. Thank you Kyle for sharing this with me, for sharing you with me. It's an amazing feeling to know you want me to be that close to you."

Exiting her room with a pare of blue PJ shorts on and a pale blue tank top Destiny gives a yawn her feet making a soft patter on the floor. Going into the kitchen Destiny pours herself a glass of milk before coming back into the living room where Chance was.

She'd slept ok that night, a bit of tossing and turning, some bad dreams did come and she sure sure she had been whimpering in her sleep but maybe she hadn't. She could only hope tonight would be a little better.

"Good Morning!"

Giving a smile and taking a sip of the milk Destiny smacks her lips together making her way over to the couch and sitting down on it. Pulling her legs up and under her.

"Hows everything looking this morning?"

Confused?

Chance grins and heads to the kitchen with Destiny, scouring the cupboards to find a couple mugs. It doesn't take long to have the hot tea ready, and the kitchen table seems the best place to sit for a while. Conversation is pretty quiet, though Chance does talk a bit, filling in the awkward gaps.

"I got used to drinking tea over in England. It's not the same, of course, but the tea over here serves its purpose alright." He chuckles. "My dad was a coffee man though. Never did take to the tea, so I was always the one to make sure we had some."

Taking another sip, he straightens, thinking he hears something, but he realizes it's just the wind. "And alas..." He finishes his tea. "The last drop signals the end of the day." Sighing deeply, he gets up from the table and puts the mug in the sink before stretching and yawning. "I got work to do for a while yet and gotta keep an eye on things 'til I know the perimeter is quiet so... I shall bid thee goodnight."

Giving a little bow, he demonstrates a formal wave before backing from the kitchen and disappearing into the corner of the living room once again. "Holler if you need anything in the night," he calls over his shoulder. He didn't think anything would happen. It would take a day or two for the Agency to find out where they were, and even then, they'd be leery about invading.

He was right. The night was very quiet and Chance was woken up from his light sleep only once by a car honking down the street. Rising early, he takes advantage of the quiet to take a quick shower, then settle down in the corner of the living room again to sip his morning tea and see if he had any TJY messages while keeping an eye on the cameras. He would have checked on Destiny, but he'd heard her up as well, so he let her be.

Kyle scrunches his nose and chuckles as Alice kisses it after he'd returned her kiss to the lips. "I love you too... but if you think this adventure is over, I got news for you."

Grinning, he brushes her cheek with his hand before finally drawing away and getting out of her jeep. "I'll call ya in the morning. Goodnight, Alice." Closing the door, he backs away and waves, blowing her a quick kiss before heading to the house. Before he reaches the porch though, Kip comes barreling outside, having been looking for him, and now taking advantage of the moment. A friendly wrestling match ensues as both release whatever was left of their energy, and Kyle winds up staggering onto the porch with Kip clinging to his back. Turning around, he gives one last wave to Alice before both disappear into the house.

The night is all too short. Everybody was so exhausted that the morning seems to come earlier than normal, even though most actually sleep late. Gram is sure to make everyone breakfast though, giving her two cents worth on how the group could spend their day if they wanted to take a look around town. Kyle had already mentioned he'd be gone part of the day and no one minded - the newcomers were enthusiastic about having an exploring adventure to get their bearings before they had to buckle down and get some work done anyway.

After a quick call to Alice, Kyle begged a ride off Erik to Phil's where he found his pickup still in fine shape. Glad to be back behind his own wheel again, he stops for some gas then heads for Alice's to pick her up.

Waiting for her to get into the truck, he grins and leans over to give her a kiss. "Mmm... I missed you this morning. I got up and looked around and my shadow had left." His eyes twinkle with enthusiasm for seeing her today. It really had been odd to get up and eat breakfast without her there with the rest of the gang, and Kyle had had to restrain himself from calling her as soon as he'd woken up.

Pulling back out into the street, Kyle first heads into town, making a quick stop at the Sandwich Basket for some lunch to go. Then he aims out of town. Conversation resumes as normal, just like he and Alice had been doing every day since they'd left Nevada. It was a strange sensation, being just the two of them, knowing that at the end of the day, they'd say goodbye again and go their separate ways until the next day. It was back to "normal" everyday life, but it didn't feel so normal.

Finally they reach the lake, but Kyle doesn't go to the normal beach where everyone usually went for picnics and fun. Instead, he turned off a side road and travels quite a ways, clear around the other side, then off into a little nook that few people even knew about. It took a while to get there and there was a small clearing to park, but no parking lot. It looked a good place for someone to go camping for a weekend, but it was obvious that few people came. Surrounded by trees, there was a little dock down by the water, old with several holes, making it seem a bit more precarious than it really was.

Kyle parks the truck and just sits for a quiet moment before turning to smile at Alice. "Come on." Getting out, he leaves the lunch for now, coming around to open her door and take her hand. Walking down towards the water, he's quieter than normal, keeping Alice's hand nestled securely in his own.

"You know..." He takes a deep breath of the calm warm breeze and looks out over the lake. "There's a quiet spot back around the other side on the beach... up in the rocks where I used to go and think. I only shared it with a couple other people. It was kinda my hideaway... a spot no one else knew about so I could go and sit for hours and be alone."

Kyle remembered he'd taken Misty there before. They'd sat... shared... learned to care for each other. It had been a special place. But this... this place was different.

Having paused, Kyle clears his throat, still looking out at the water. "This place here holds something different for me though. I've... I've never brought anyone here, not even Jen or Phil." It was true. He'd shared his rock hideaway with a trusted few, but this little cove was truly a secret. "I... I know I've told you that my dad drown when I was a kid. You might have figured out the rest but... I don't know if I ever told you I was there when it happened. I was... fifteen I think. I don't remember whole lot about that year. I, um.. blamed myself for not being able to save him. I was haunted by nightmares for months."

Even now, it was a little hard to talk about. "But there was one place that I would go and hide and just think and... sometimes shout at God and... and sometimes cry where no one could see me." He turns to look at Alice. There was sadness in his eyes, but also a strong life that had overcome some pretty high hurdles. "I used to disappear for hours up here. Mom used to worry I'd gone off and done something stupid because I withdrew so much. But this place... this little spot... I always had this little notion that God put it here, knowing I'd need it."

Knowing that Alice was probably totally confused as to why on earth he was sharing all this with her, he smiles a little and pulls her down closer to the dock, stepping onto it carefully and leaning against one of the posts. He turns his back to the water to look Alice straight in the face. "I... brought you here because this is a part of me that nobody else owns." He takes her other hand, giving them both a little squeeze. "And... there are other places... other things that I want to start sharing with you because I want you to know the real me. I want you to know where I come from and... and what makes me who I am. People don't always understand me or why I do the things I do. But I want you to know. So... today... welcome to a little piece of Kyle."

He searches Alice's eyes, a little smile forming. "I don't know where we're headed after this... But as long as we're here in this area... there are places I want to take you. Places that I want to share with you. Some might be kind of silly, and some are more important like having you meet more of my family."

He lifts one of her hands to kiss it softly. "Call me crazy, but I want you to know all of me... if you want to, that is." A laugh slips out. "It might be kinda scary."

"Well, Scott... good to see you up and about."

Scott looks up from the bench at Justin without much humor. "I didn't feel like getting manhandled today."

Justin grins. "I didn't feel like doing the manhandling." He nods to the picnic table nearby in the grassy lot. "Come on."

Scott grudgingly stands and follows him. "What today? Tennis?"

Justin chuckles. "No. Just a little memory game."

Memory game? Scott sits down hesitantly. "I don't know if I like the sounds of that."

"You probably don't." Justin sits down too and produces a deck of cards. But they weren't normal cards. He'd spent half the night modifying this deck from files Alec had shared with him. "Have anything for breakfast?"

"Yeah. Kind of."

"Kind of?" Justin starts to lay out the cards face-down on the table, glad that there was no wind today.

"Last night's supper all came up again so I didn't exactly feel like eating this morning."

"Why do you think you got sick?"

"I dunno. Stress." Scott slouches. "Being here."

"Aw now... you know better than to blame stress. Stress is what you make it, Scott."

"You're saying that being here is a piece of cake?"

Justin sighs and looks up at him. "No. I'm saying that stress is your own state of mind."

Scott frowns. "I don't get what you're aiming at."

Justin pauses laying out the cards. "You just blamed stress on the fact that you can't keep your food down. All I'm saying is that you're only under as much stress as you allow yourself to be."

"Oh, like playing these stupid games help."

"The situation has nothing to do with it," Justin insists. "Stress is not a person's circumstances - it's how the person reacts to them. I can walk into a barroom brawl and either get upset or let it go. A 'stressful situation' only means that people involved aren't handling things well enough."

Scott's eyes narrow. "Think I'm not handling things well enough?"

"Did I say that?" Justin shakes his head and raises his hands. "I'm just carrying on a casual conversation, Scott. I'm not blaming you for anything. Did you know that someone can lower their blood pressure just by taking some slow deep breaths and calming down? If the rest of the world would just realize that stress is completely self-inflicted, there would be fewer heart attacks, fewer ulcers and fewer temper tantrums resulting in physical abuse." He looks back at the cards and continues to spread them out. "People can blame others and circumstances all they want for stress, but in the end, its up to each individual to control how they handle it."

Scott sits back a little, unable to help but wonder if many he was doing more harm to himself than anything else.

Justin finishes with the cards and rests his elbows on the table, folding his hands. "Okay, Scott. You know how a memory game works."

"Yeah. Find matches. You really expect me to play this kiddie game?"

"I expect you to make that choice yourself." Justin looks him in the eye. "I'm not going to trick you, Scott. These aren't ordinary playing cards. Each one has a photograph of a face on it... faces you will recognize and that will probably trigger an assimilation response."

Scott's face pales and he can barely find his voice. "What?"

"You need to learn to control your brain's reflexes. I'm not here just to occupy your time during the days with soccer games and paintball. Time is not your friend, Scott. And each day that passes that you don't work on controlling the information inside your brain, it's one more day closer to a total breakdown and I don't want to see that happen to you." Justin gestures to the cards. "This is a mental exercise and I'm here to make sure that nothing bad is going to happen when you see the faces on the other side of these cards. It's safe. But it's up to you. I can't turn the cards over for you. You have to want to do it."

Scott's heart thumps in his chest and he stares at the overturned cards. No. No he couldn't. He wasn't ready. He was scared of what might happen. What if he was thrown into shock again? What if it was too much? He shakes his head. "No... no, I won't do it."

Justin could push. He could ask how Scott thought he'd get over his problems if he wouldn't face them and try. But he didn't. Instead, he says nothing, but collects all the cards he had just laid out and puts them back in the box. "How about we try some target practice?"

"Target... practice?"

Justin draws out a slingshot from his backpack. "Yeah. Ever used one of these."

Scott can't help it that his lips curl up a little bit. "Not since I was about ten and I shot a rock through the living room window."

Justin laughs. "Well we'll shoot in the other direction today." He stands up and heads into the grass. "Come on. Let's see what you got."

A little confused, Scott stands up to follow him. Justin had just dropped that whole other matter... just like that? Why? Was he really letting Scott choose when to see those pictures? Nobody else seemed to want to work with him like that. Was it just a tactic? Whatever the case, playing with a slingshot sounded better than putting himself through further trauma today.

...About an hour later, Justin is headed back down the familiar sidewalk towards the parking lot. Scott had gotten some exercise... he'd been able to concentrate on a sport for a while... so it had been a successful day. He'd look at the cards... eventually. Justin was confident of that. Tomorrow he would bring the deck back and try again. But what he'd told Scott was true... time was of the essence. He knew from Alec and Rick and the files he'd read that eventually, Scott's brain was going to shut down again... unless he could learn to control this thing before then.

Justin stops, glances at his watch then pulls a ziploc bag out of his backpack. Turning a bit aimlessly, one might think he was completely lost, or looking for something he'd missed, the look on his face one of confusion.

Showing Emotion

Giving a smile at Kyle Alice was happy for his offer to stay another night. Why was she having such a problem with this? Kyle and herself has spend a year of there life together seeing each other day in and day out every moment together. Some people might be thankful for the time apart finally from someone, but Alice new she was going to miss it and get kinda lonely not having someone there to talk to now and be there.

"Mmmm...Thank you for the offer, I wouldn't mind on bit ether staying another night with you. But I've got to do this sooner or later right. I might as well do it sooner rather than later so I can adjust."

Leaning into Kyle a little Alice places a soft kiss on his lips and lets it linger for a few moments. Now that they were alone, she didn't mind showing her love to Kyle stronger than normal. Pulling away and smiling Alice gives his nose a small kiss next.

"Give me a call in the morning when you wake so I know your up, than I'll head over. I love you Kyle Mitts and thanks for the adventure over the last year. Its been a blast with more to come!"

Just leaning into Carson and soaking up all of his attachen Misty loved the quiet moments with her husband. Just sitting with him, talking showing there love and affection, it was such a nice feeling to know you could share these feelings with someone for the rest of your life.

"I'll help you bring everything into the kitchen. I don't mind sticking around a little while longer to help you. Than we can head home together."

Continuing to just sit on Carson's lap and not move for a long moment Misty didn't want to really. She wanted to help but tonight was just one of those nights she didn't want to let go. Finally shifting though knowing she had to Misty stands her hand still in Carson.

Sitting up on the couch again the smirk still on her lips she holds up her hands in a surrender stance.

"I will dry for a week while you wash I promise. However, just so you don't think your alone my mouth was starting to get full it was getting to be to much."

Standing from the couch and giving a stretch reaching her arms up into the air for a moment Destiny thinks for a moment on Chance's offer. Giving a grin and a small nod she takes a few steps forward.

"I think a cup of tea would be nice. Come on I'll sit with you while you make it."

Another night

Chance smirks at the new information about Destiny. "Oh, sure... now you tell me. You're right. You definitely need to help dry dishes at least for that one."

A laugh escapes though and he shakes his head before sitting up. "And I definitely need something to get that sour out of my mouth before I go to bed. I'm thinking a cup of hot tea."

Managing to stand up, he glances to Destiny. "Want one too?"

"Mmm, yes, it was a lot of fun." Carson slips an arm around Misty to help hold her on his lap, though her frame was small enough that it wasn't hard. "Thanks for helping out."

His free hand reaches up and gently rakes through her soft hair as he gives her a light kiss. "Couldn't ask for more from a group of friends, I tell you that. Just about any one of them I could call for help and they'd drop everything to come."

Sighing deeply, he rests his head against Misty's, tired from the very long day. "I think I'm gonna take all the dishes back to the kitchen, but worry about cleaning tomorrow." He didn't usually do that, but tonight was an exception. "You can go home if you want... it won't take me long."

Kyle's lips spread into a little smile and his head leans into Alice's hand before he covers her fingers with his palm then gives her hand a kiss. Her pride in him made him feel so good. "I couldn't have done it without you."

Keeping hold of her hand, he studies her eyes for several moments as they reflect in the moonlight shining through the windows. "You can stay here another night," he mentions softy. He hadn't really thought about the fact that Alice going back to her apartment and he going back with Phil meant that they would see each other less. And now that he realized it, it brought a strange little pang to his own heart. "I know we got your stuff there already but... we still got room here if you wanna spend one more night. I... certainly wouldn't mind."

5/21/10

Strange

Laying back on the couch herself chewing the mouth full of candy's once Chance spit most of his out. Her own eyes seemed to water now slightly as her tong acked but she refused to spit the candy out.

Just listing to Chance talk Destiny is quiet as she continues to chew turning her head a little to look at Chance on the floor she half expected him to start twitching. Finally though finished chewing Destiny sits up on the couch on her elbows looking at Chance.

"I guess you can say I kind of do have a mouth of iron."

Grinning a little she shakes her head still looking at Chance.

"I guess it really wasn't fair for you. Remember how I said I eat so many of these I made my tong bleed? Well on that side of my touch the taste buds never grew back, so if I stuff that whole side full first, its not to sour. So...I will help you wish the dishes by drying them since I am nice and all."

Once the the room was empty Misty leans back in her chair. It wasn't still now she realized how tired she really was. Moving her head a little and looking over at Carson she gives a smile hearing his request. She was never to tired for a little more snuggling with her husband.

Standing and coming over to him Misty sits in his lap sideways bringing her arm around his neck and giving a smile. It was nice to see he had friends, and when they were gone him miss them. IT really did mean they were important to him.

"Hey there...was a busy night tonight huh? Was fun though, its always nice to see everyone!"

Sitting out in the jeep with Kyle Alice doesn't mind he doesn't get out right away. There was a strange feeling hanging about her now, once she didn't really like. This was the first time in a year she would say goodnight to Kyle and drive away.

"I think a picnic lunch tomorrow just the two of us would be great. Though I have to admit I am not looking forward to going back to my empty apartment tonight."

Letting out a small sigh Alice looks over to Kyle trying to muster a smile. She didn't know why it felt so hard. It was her home, and yet, it was going to feel so empty now.

"It sure it going to be lonely. Than again spending a year non stop with you and now having to be alone again...I can see its going to take some getting use to."

Bringing her hand to Kyle's face Alice runs her finger down his cheek just mapping the path for a long moment before speaking again.

"I'm so proud of what you did today Kyle. You've grown so much!"

Tomorrow...

"You're pretty confident, aren't you?" Chance goes for another piece of candy, this time his eyes watering as he puts it in his mouth. He can feel his lips contracting into a pucker even though he fights it, and he cringes. "Your turn, smarty pants."

Going back and forth for a little while, Chance gets slower and slower. Not only was his mouth getting full, but it was starting to hurt and the sour candies were overwhelmingly so. At some point, he stands up and paces, stomping his feet as he desperately tries to keep going. Unfortunately, it doesn't take long after that before half his mouthful is swallowed and the other half winds up in the trash.

Sprawling on the floor, arms and legs spread out, he groans. Raising one hand, he shakes his finger. "I'm warning you... this goes no further than this house." He smacks his lips again and cringes. "Crap those things are sour. You must have a mouth made out of iron." Staring up at the ceiling, he quirks an eyebrow. "And I must be doing the dishes for the next week... I vote for paper plates."

Jason chuckles and gives Katie and extra squeeze before letting her stand on her own again. "Okay, good."

You're one person I will never mind being stuck with... even on the tough days.

Bending to give her a last kiss on the forehead, he pulls her back to their table so he can finish his pizza that was only half-eaten.

Going back over to Jess, Axel slips down next to her again, his arm going back around her chair once more. "Well... that was satisfying." He takes a sip from his glass, and only she might notice that it was mostly to hide his smile.

His arm slides up to rub her shoulders, his fingers finding the chain of the dogtags he'd given her so long ago now it seemed. Knowing they were that close made his insides smile too. He and Jess were still taking things oh so slowly... but they liked it that way, and both were content. Jess was filling a hole in Axel's life and it felt too good to let go.

Eventually, the gang settles down enough to at least eat their fill of pizza, joined up by Carson for a while before the dishes needed to be done. Kyle makes sure that everybody is introduced to his friends, just briefly explaining they were a band but not going into details. The new group is welcomed warmly, if it wasn't obvious already by them having already been pulled into the evening's shenanigans.

Once the hour starts getting late though, people begin filtering out, bidding their farewells for the night. Cryptic's group leaves, along with JetStream, eventually leaving Kyle's band and Carson and Misty. Completely exhausted, they all felt so good but so tired.

Kip crunches on some ice and waves to Carson. "Want help cleaning up?"

"Naw." Carson shakes his head. "I'm closed tomorrow anyway so I'll just take my time with it. Thanks, though."

Kyle gives a deep sigh and looks around the table at the others. "Well..."

"Back to Gram and Gramp's?" Erik asks.

"That's what I'm thinking." They had Alice's stuff together so she could go back to her waiting apartment tonight, and Phil had said that Kyle's room was still empty, though he wouldn't pack and go there until tomorrow. For the others, one or two guys might be able to join Kyle and Phil, but they'd find places for everyone and in the meantime, the grandparents were more than willing to house anybody who needed a bed.

Soon, Mom and Pop's was left in a strange quiet, such a contrast to only an hour before when it was filled with laughter and roughhousing.

Carson glances around from his relaxed seat at the table. "If this place has accomplished one thing... it's providing a place for good clean fun and a time for friendship." He nods and finishes off his glass of pop.

His eyes find Misty, and he grins, patting his leg for her to join him. "Come here... I feel lonely with everybody gone."

Getting back to Gram and Gramp's, the gang heads inside the house, trying hard to be quiet as all the lights were out, signaling the older couple was in bed. Outside in the jeep though, Kyle doesn't go in right away. Instead, he leans back in the dark quiet and takes a deep breath, letting it out slowly. "I feel... dead."

He grins and turns his head to Alice. "I'm gonna sleep like a log. But tomorrow... I was wondering if..." He shrugs. "If you and I could take a little trip and go have a picnic for lunch? Just you and me? The others will be alright for a few hours on their own. There's a little place on the lake I want to take you. If... if you want to."

No one

"Ohhh....dishes for a week huh?"

Destiny thinks on that one as she pops a few more of her own candy's into her mouth her face totally puckering as the sour takes over though it doesn't last long as she adjusts to the taste.

"I think I can handle that seeing as I am going to win."

The smile on Destiny's face grows even more as her eyes sparkle with life...she was having fun again, the laughs were chasing away the dark shadows. She needed this and was happy for it.

Smiling back at Kyle Alice leans her for head against his. Her own breath was on the heavy sigh from all the struggling and laughing she was doing.

"I think thats a work out I could get use to. Though if I lose my voice from laughing to much you might be a little happy."

Giving a large grin Alice kiss the tip of Kyle's nose only joking around him him as she draped her arms over his shoulder. It felt good to be home, to be with the bands and to see the look in Kyle's eye that had been gone for so long.

Being taking by Con's strong arms Katie laughs more as she puts her arms around his neck and give him a big kiss on the cheek.

"Your my hero Big Brother!!!"

Giggling and batting her eyes Katie leans her head on his bawd shoulder. Turning her head a little to look back at Jason she grins and just laughs. It was always so much fun to get a rise out of everyone and get them involved in the fun.

About to say something else Katie doesn't even have time as once again she goes from Con's arms back to Jason's and Con started moving around like a lunatic. Just blinking and watching him for a long moment her face void of almost all emotions she finally realizes what happened and the grin forms.

"Hey...its been a while."

Receiving Jason's kiss Katie's arms slip around him as she returns the moment. Hearing the from Mike she just holds the kiss before not being able to help a laugh making her break the kiss but her head still rested against Jason's as she whispers.

"No one could steal me away, your stuck with me."

Hotshot vs. Tank

Chance grins and shakes his head, following suit with popping a couple more candies into his mouth and cringing as if someone had just hit him upside the head. Once he can open his eyes again, he tries not to laugh. There wasn't much he could think of for the winner.

"Loser has to clean the dishes for a week," he concludes. Clearing his throat, he tucks the candies into his cheek, motioning Destiny to continue.

Kyle laughs and doesn't let Alice go, continuing his little march around the room. He does heed her warning though as a sheepish grin escapes, even though from her angle, she couldn't see it. Shifting his hands around to a more "suitable" position, he finally stops and cranes his neck to see back behind him where Alice's head was still hanging. "Oh alright... I guess I can let you down."

Pulling her back down in front of him so they were face to face, his hands were around her waist, his eyes twinkling with energy-pumped humor. Breathing heavily from his own antics, another laugh escapes. "With you fighting to get down, that's quite a workout. We should do this more often."

Hearing Karla's belch, Joel and Kip both come to a screeching halt and stare at her. Kip's eyes are wide until finally a smile comes and he offers a high-five. "Yeah!"

Joel laughs and immediately guzzles another several mouthfuls of pop.

Most of the noise around Con is hard for him to distinguish, but his good ear does pick up the sound of Katie's teasing calls for help. Leaning back in his chair, he tries to see what was going on. Throwing Jamie a grin, he stands up. "Be right back."

Coming up behind Jason, he puts a finger to his lips for Katie not to tell him. Though Jason is moving around a lot, Con manages to get a hold of Katie and slip her right off of Jason's shoulder. His own laughter joins in with the others as he easily holds Katie. "Hey there, little sister, looks like you need some help."

Jason whirls around and sets his hands on his hips, though he can't even pretend to be mad - it was way too funny. "Tell me you did not just steal my girl."

Rocky cups his hands over his mouth, mimicking a loudspeaker. "And tonight, ladies and gentlemen, Hotshot and Tank go head to head in a match of all matches!"

Having moved so smoothly behind the tables, no one seemed to have notice Axel had gotten up and was now standing behind Con. Peeking around the big man at Jason, he winks. Moving back into position, he reveals a handful of ice. And without hesitating, the ice is deposited down the back of Con's shirt.

Con's eyes go wide as the cold hits his back and he lets out something close to a wail, though later, Jason would describe it as the sound of a dying water buffalo. Doing his own little spin around to try and get the ice out of his shirt, Con's armful of Katie moves with him. Jason takes advantage of Con's precarious position, before anyone knew what was happening, Katie had been tossed back into Jason's arms.

Holding onto her tightly, Jason was grinning ear to ear. "Long time no see." Leaning in, he presses his lips to hers, not waiting for permission.

"Wooee!" Mike calls. "I think Hotshot just won, Con!"

Con is still fighting with the ice and manages to get all the pieces out of his shirt, but by that time, Jason is too far gone to even try going after. Laughter sparkles in his eyes as he watches two of his best friends. This was a good night... a fun night... a much-needed getaway from the daily grind.

5/20/10

...Somebody...Anybody....

Destiny can't help but laugh at Chance her hand quickly going to her mouth as she almost spits the candy out on mistake. Controlling herself and knowing the candy was in place she removes her hand.

"Boy oh boy your in for a ride of your life than. I once eat so many of these my tong started a bleed and it was really sore. Fun times fun times."

Taking another two drink the dish Destiny pops them into her mouth. Once they hit her tong and sit there for a moment she face changes slightly as she shakes her head to the sour taste.

Opening her eyes again after a few moment she grins her cheeks just slightly puffed out from the candy hiding in her gums.

"Sooo...we should raise the stakes a little with the winner winning something..but what...any ideas?"

Misty throws Carson a grin as she takes the pitcher of pop. She loved the harmless banter it was fun and never is hard feelings.

"Oh course I do, its just all in the way you read into it you know."

Sticking her tong out at Carson Misty moves from behind the counter to bring the pitcher of pop over to the tables knowing Carson was close behind following.

Heaving it all happen way to fast Alice lets out a shreek as Kyle lifts her up and slings her over his shoulder. Not being able to anything but laugh the pens that had been in her pockets go fly as she continues to laugh.

"Kyle....Kyle....would someone control this holagin before he makes me sick to my stomach. I just eat."

Though she was complain it was easy to tell by her voice she was having fun and it was making her laugh. They had, had much fun on the road but nothing was better than being home with friends and having just as much fun.

"Hey hey...Kyle....watch were you hand is buddy before I kick your butt."

Hearing Jason's silent statement Katie's eyes widen slightly as she quickly look at him and gives a little shake of her head but it was all to late.

"Jason...Don't you even think about itttttt...."

Being picked up and thrown on Jason's back Katie lets out her own scream that mixs with Alice. Now spinning in the air her emotions pull on Jason's all over but making sure they were all good as she laughed.

"J....J...Holy cow....put me down...ahhhh...Help HELP...somebody....anybody....save me."

Taking a sip of her pop and without much warning at all her own loud belch comes out. Her face turning read she looks to Kip and than to Joel. She really hadn't meant that it just happened at the right time. Embarrassed now she didn't know what to say but there was a smirk on her face anyways.

Leaning into Axel Jess rested her head on his arm as they watched the others. She didn't mind sitting here quietly with him just watching the others. It was fun to watch and see everyone getting along. This was just as much fun as actually being in the middle of it all. Just Axel and herself....found the quiet to be more welcoming to them.

Crazies

Chance quirks an eyebrow, staring at the bowls of candy and watching Destiny pop one in her mouth. "Alright... sounds fair."

Taking one for himself, he puts it in his mouth and immediately cringes and puckers. "Holy cow." He has to stifle his laugh, lest he spit out the candy right then and there. "Is now the time to admit I've never even had these?"

Carson folds his arms and looks at Misty skeptically. "You know all that... just from what he said?" Shaking his head, he finally laughs. "Women. You all have invisible radar. Here." He hands her a pitcher of pop. "Make your arms useful along with that antenna sticking out of your noggin."

Arriving at the table and being shot with a straw wrapper, Kyle's eyes go wide and his jaw drops as he stares at Alice. "Why you little...." A new glint comes to his eyes and as he comes nearer, it was obvious that he was not aiming for just a straw of his own.

Pulling her chair from the table, he grabs hold of her and slings her up and over his shoulder, spinning her around. "How do you like that, huh? Shooting wrappers at an unarmed man?!"

Down the table a ways, Jen giggles at the sight of her brother and Alice. Though it was funny, she could see that they were more than just casual daters. It had been a long time since Jen had seen that look in Kyle's eye.

Jason ducks a flying napkin as he sees Kyle and Alice.

Hey... I think he's on to something there...

Without warning, he dives for Katie. Throwing her up and over his shoulder, he joins Kyle for a march around the chaotic tables.

Somewhere down at one end of a table, a belch seems loud enough it should have rattled the plates and glasses. Joel and Kip stare at each other, somehow having ended up across from each other. Joel's eyes squint and for a moment before suddenly a new belch erupts.

Kip quirks an eyebrow. "I think we were even."

"I guess we'll have to do it again."

Axel is nearby and he just shakes his head, his arms still back behind Jess. A grin was on his lips though. He might not join in most of the crazies, but it didn't mean he wasn't enjoying watching all his friends have fun.

Bull's Eye

Her own smile forms and grows as Chance moves into the living room. Not wanting to make to much of a mess Destiny grabs two bowls from the cupboard and dumps a bunch of candy in each before putting the bags away.

"I wouldn't be so sure, I've kind of mastered it."

She yells from the other room hearing his comment. Coming out of the kitchen with the two bowls. Setting them down on the table Destiny picks a spot on the couch closer to Chance but not crowding him or invading his personal space.

"Ok, so this is simple..."

Destiny picks a sour patch kid from the bowl and pops it in her mouth giving a little smile.

"I take one, you take one. Back and forth we go till one of us can't stand the sour any longer and have to chew and swallow or spit the candy out."

Misty's eyes widen a little at the mention to Kyle's new band. She hadn't though Kyle would get into music again he had been so admit about staying away but to hear he was did bring her some joy. He was so good at it, and so talented it was nice to hear.

"Kyle thats great to hear, your band, being back in music. Your band sounds wonderful we will defiantly have to meet your friends in a little bit."

The smile remained on Misty's face and grows a little showing how sinsear her words were, and how happy she really was for Kyle. Things were working out great for him, and he was happy that was something that really did matter to her.

As Kyle figured out that had gotten married Misty's cheeks turn a little red. She'd completely forgot Kyle hadnt been around to know that and now seeing the slight shadow in his eye she felt slightly bad, but it was soon gone as she hears about Kyle's own girl.

Taking a slight step to one side to look around Kyle her eyes find Alice and her smile grows even more as she eyes twinkle again trying to get over the awkward feeling.

"I should of seen that coming Kyle you guys hit it off from the start. Congrats. I am very happy for you."

Giving a nod to Kyle as he walks away Misty just watches him for a long moment before looking back at her husband and seeing the question in his eye. Pointing a little to Alice she nods.

"Thats Alice Whitt, she is the one that has been writing What Up about Kyle for the last year. It seems they are romantically involved now, and soon to be much more, but she doesn't know that part yet. I am happy for them both they deserve happiness since they both have had it rough."

Watching Kyle come back over to the table Alice smile as she takes aim with her straw and shoots it at Kyle getting him into the fun and hitting him right in the side of the face.

"Bulls eye!!!"

With you?

Chance's apprehension transforms into a grin as he looks at the candy then back to Destiny. "Well now... I wouldn't want you to feel alone in the world of pigging out. It's never fun binging solo." He also remembered what she'd said at the store earlier. "Besides... I wanna see how many of those you can get in your mouth before it gets too sour for you."

Still grinning, he ambles back into the living room and claims one corner of the couch where he could keep an eye on the security monitors but still be able to do whatever he wanted. On a normal night about this time, he'd be either working late in the office or hanging out down at Lizzy's bar, throwing back a beer and playing a game of cards with some of his buddies. Spending a quiet evening at home was almost never an occurrence.

"Bet I can put more in my mouth than you," he calls over his shoulder, challenging Destiny to join him.

Watching the silly antics of the others around them, and joining in a little too, Jason laughs with Katie. He can feel her tugging on his good emotions, and he lets her, enjoying the sensation it brought on.

Never fails... this gang is always fun. Looks like Kyle's bunch is joining right in too. I guess I wouldn't expect him to wind up with sticks in the mud though. I think he'd go mad.

Hearing he'd been missed and the genuine interest in whether he was staying or not helped Kyle see that there were no bad feelings between him and Misty. A little awkwardness maybe, but not bad. A smile spreads on his face as the sparkle returns to his eyes.

"I've missed being back here too," he admits. "And yeah... yeah, I'm gonna be back for a while." He glances over his shoulder as he hears the group get a little noisier and sees that his newest friends have mixed right in with everyone else. Turning back to Misty and Carson, he nods. "You'll have to come meet the people I brought with me. They're um... they're my new band."

Carson lifts an eyebrow as he finishes filling another pitcher. "Back in the music huh? What's the band name?"

"Um." Kyle grins a little sheepishly. He hadn't even told the others yet. They all knew the South Dakota bunch was a band he was involved with, and Alice had put something in What's Up about him joining a band with a promising future, but no one else knew yet how serious it really was.

Carson waits. "Um?"

Kyle laughs. "It's... well, it'll be the Kyle Mitts band."

Now Carson understood. "Whoa... so it's not just a band you joined, it's your band."

"Kind of." Kyle can't help another laugh. "It's a long story. They found me but... yeah." He turns around and points, excited. He had yet to even explain it all to his own family, but he was just as glad to share with Carson and Misty now while he had the opportunity. "There's Kip - he plays bass guitar. And Theo over there with the blonde. He's on drums and she's Twila - she plays strings, mostly violin. And... there's Erik, he's lead guitar, and... Russ. There he is. He's on guitar, too. Oh, and the girl with Kip, that's Karla and she's our manager. Well, kind of. The guys we're gonna hook up with will be filtering gigs if all goes well but she's got the title so we don't have to spend the time on the phone and keep the records."

Carson has to admit that he's impressed and he folds his arms, grinning. "And you?"

"Lead vocals and back to the keyboard." Kyle strums the counter with this fingers as if he was standing at his keyboard. "We got an appointment for a company that might get us started with a couple albums and hopefully a tour. Erik had quite a few connections and his family's got money so that was a blessing in itself."

He pauses, bringing the conversation back around again, not wanting to ramble too much about all that. "But... I think this is gonna be home base from now on. So you'll probably see me around."

Glancing to Carson, he gives a little nod. Their eyes lock for just a moment, and a brief, silent conversation seems to go on between them without any words. Perhaps it was simply an acknowledgment that the past was the past and would stay there. Neither held bad feelings or grudges, and both were willing to start out on the right foot this time. Kyle clears his throat. "So, um... what about you guys? Same old?"

"Oh, sort of." Carson chuckles and glances to Misty, throwing her a wink. "Don't know if you heard our news."

Kyle quirks an eyebrow. Their news? He looks back and forth between them until his eyes fall to Misty's hand, only now spotting the sparkling ring on her finger. His eyes widen and he looks to Carson's hand too, finding he wore a wedding band now as well. And for the briefest moment, a bit of melancholy casts a shadow as he remembers the feelings he once had for Misty. That chapter was now officially and forever closed. But just as quickly, that feeling is gone, and a new smile spreads on his face. "Hey, that's great. Congratulations."

Carson still grins as he eyes Kyle, a bit of question in his eye as to whether or not Kyle really thought this was great.

Kyle catches the look, and in answer, he thumbs over his shoulder. "I better get back to the table... my own girl's gonna be waiting on me."

"Your own girl?"

Kyle grins mischievously. "I think you probably met her once before but... you'll probably be seeing more of her now that she's with me."

"With you?"

But Kyle won't give him any more than that, letting the question hang in the air. He knew that Misty would most likely get it before Carson did. He chuckles and nods to them both. "Don't forget to come over here and meet everybody."

Eyes say

Seeing Kyle earlier when he had first come in with Alice Misty had smiled. It was good seeing him again after almost a year. Staying out of the way though and knowing things hadn't been the great when he had left Misty didn't want to rune his night now.

Working at the counter on getting a few other things together for the tables Misty hears Kyle's voice behind her talking to Carson. Bitting her lip a little she wanted to turn around and say hi, she didn't want things to be awkward...she just...

Hearing Kyle say hi to her Misty turns around and looks at him for a long moment. A smile forming on her lips as she looks back at Kyle.

"Hey Kyle, it good to see you again."

Giving a slight wave she moves a little close to the counter were Kyle was standing her eyes still connected with his. She wanted to be friends again with him she really did and maybe this was a start.

"Are you home for a while now? We all miss seeing you!"

Really she wanted to say she missed seeing him, and his smiling face but she though it best to leave it at we even if Kyle could read what her eyes said.

Feeling the bump next to her Karla looks to Kip before looking across the table. Shaking her head she leans into him a little bit whispering.

"Your gonna get yourself into trouble!"

It was to late though and the paper goes flying hitting Axel. Karla's eyes go wide a little bit as she looks to Axel and than to Kip again. Her mouth wants to turn up into a smile but she trys to stop it, a laugh wanting to come but willing it not to.

As a paper it returned to hitting Kip, and than more papers go flying along with Kips words back to her finally Karla can't hold it in any longer and her laugh rings out joined in by the others as she gets her own straw papers flying here and there.

Watching the war start Katie raises and eyebrow the corners of her mouth twitching till finally breaks out into her own smile. Looking around the table at everyone it was a full hour but it was nice, everyone was back together pluse some who were going to fit in just fine.

Some times its nice that the simple things never change no matter how we grow.

Katie looks to Jason and gives a smile as she tugs on a few of his emotions and her own eyes sparkle.

Working in the kitchen on still organizing everything to give her something to do Destiny was lost in her own world. Hearing Chance's voice behind her causes her to jump though as she spins around. Seeing it was in fact only Chance Destiny leans against the counter and gives a laugh.

"Oh Chance, I...was organizing and I guess I zone out."

Cocking her head to one side her eyes twinkle a little as she looks back at him feeling totaly crazy for jumping in the first place. This had to be one of the safest houses she had ever been in not to mention Chance's word on keeping her safe.

Hearing Chance let her know if she wasn't comfortable with just him being here Destiny's smile grows a little. It was nice to know he was thinking of that, and for that alone she wasn't to worried.

"Oh No no...I have no problem with you being here at night or whatever. It...kind of comforting really. Thank you for asking though that was very sweet of you."

Turning to the cupboard and pulling down the bag of Candy Destiny gives a little smile.

"I will had to admit you might startle me a few more times till I get use to having someone else here. I'm use to it just being me. Should only take a day or two, to get use to though. And....to start off the first night right I have some candy here with our name on it I was thinking about breaking into. If you'd like to join me so I don't feel like a pig alone I wouldn't mind the company."

What the cat dragged in

Con spreads out his hands willingly at Misty's suggestion. "Your wish is my command."

Carson smirks. "Show off." Turning around, he aims for the kitchen to prepare the pizzas. Once disappeared, there's an awful ruckus of clanging pots and pans before dead silence. Then Carson's voice pipes up again. "I'm okay! Thanks for asking."

Con snickers but dares not to laugh too loudly as he goes and starts moving tables and chairs.

It's not long before people start to arrive - and it was a bigger crowd than usual. Carson was glad he'd made several extra pizzas, and the whole gang wouldn't have to wait too long to eat. Cryptic's bunch is the first to get there, Rocky and Joel being quite rambunctious, while Axel tries to keep them in line, but winds up ignoring them and paying more attention to Jess instead. Next is JetStream, Jason in the lead with Katie in tow, before Phil, Jen and Mike, all seeming to be a little more hyped up than normal. Carson's a little surprised to then see a small group he didn't even recognize. They seemed a little out of place, finding the end of a table to sit together, mingling with the others but not mixing in like they knew each other very well. Eventually the door opens again, this time with Kyle and Alice.

Filling several pitchers with pop, Carson hears the bell again and glances out, spotting Kyle. His eyebrows rise in genuine surprise. Kyle was back in town?

Nodding to Misty, he directs her attention to the door. "Look who the cat dragged in."

Kyle gets into Mom and Pop's, his hand firmly planted in Alice's. Scanning the crowd, a smile forms on his face and he aims for his newest friends first to make sure everyone is okay and settled. Once again though, he doesn't have much time to breathe as he's bombarded by the others, mostly Joel and Phil this time. Hardly able to sit down, he finally secures a seat next to Alice down by the band, not wanting to leave any of them out of the loop.

The loud chatter and laughing continues, everyone seeming to have a good time. Before the pizza comes though, Kyle is finally able to steal a glance back over to the counter, spotting Misty and Carson both working. Giving Alice a little nudge, he scoots his chair back while he could escape the others. "I'll be right back."

Slipping from the noisy bunch, he ambles over to the counter, leaning on it a little. "Hey, what's a guy gotta do to get some service around here?"

Carson whirls around, a smile coming to his face. "Well... Kyle Mitts. What brings you to this side of the neighborhood?"

"Mmm... a lot of things." Kyle chuckles. Glancing down, then back up again, he studies Carson's face for a moment before his eyes shift to Misty. Things hadn't been so great when he'd left town. They had been alright but... there had still been quite a bit of tension. This was something he had to do... if for nothing else, then for his peace of mind. He needed to greet both of them. "Hey, Misty."

Kip looks around the restaurant, his legs bouncing a little under the table as the energy in the room just fed his hyper nature. Fiddling with his straw, he tears half of the wrapper off and tucks one end in, looking around the table for a target. Spying Twila, he elbows Karla to get her to watch. Blowing through the straw, the wrapper goes flying. Unfortunately, the air current in the room didn't cooperate and the paper projectile shifted to the right and winds up beaning Axel in the head.

Sitting at the table right beside theirs, Axel turns around in surprise, wondering who had just shot a straw wrapper at him.

Kip sinks a little lower in his seat, trying not to laugh. He'd met Axel a while ago, but that's as far as it went. He certainly hadn't meant to shoot at someone he didn't know. Seeing Axel turn back around, he figures he must have given up, and he gives Karla a sheepish grin. "I guess my aim was off."

His words are barely out of his mouth when a straw wrapper comes flying at him, hitting him lightly in the arm. Whipping his head back around in surprise, a smile breaks forth as he sees Axel eying him challengingly. And thus, the straw wrapper war began, spreading beyond the two of them.

The corner of the living room now looked like a miniature TJY. Several monitors, a computer and more would act as the security and Chance knew how everything ran. He had an eye on every outside camera now, along with instant contact to TJY if need be.

It had been a bit of a crazy evening, packing everything up, getting it all set up and trying to get settled in the safe house. Chance had been given an Elite SUV to drive for him and Destiny, so it had only taken one trip to get everything here.

Now it was after dark and Chance was getting tired, but he knew he needed to get used to short nights as he kept an eye on things. Swiveling in his chair, he glances towards the kitchen and stands up with a stretch and yawn. Wandering to where the light was on, he looks in on Destiny. Now that it was evening, it was just striking him that maybe Destiny wouldn't be so comfortable with just her and him in the house, and he wanted to make sure she was alright with it.

"Hey, um... if you ever need... I mean... well, if you're not okay with just me being the other person in the house or anything... let me know and I'll talk to Reese, okay?"

Time roll on

Jamie can't help but laugh as they come to the counter even more. Her eyes sparkle as she just watches Carson and Misty for a moment. She was so happy for them that they were now married, and you could just see by both there faces how much in love they were.

Looking to Con with a smile and giving him a slap to the arm about his comment of cleaning Jamie just shakes her head. Looking to Misty she grins.

"You can dress them up but we can't take them out can we?"

Leaning into Carson a little more and just giving a laugh again and shakes her head. It was always nice hanging around with a group of people from work. Carson just seemed to fit right in now too becoming close friends with so many. Misty was so happy of that and just looking at his face she could tell it made him feel good too.

"I don't know if we can really dress them up ether I mean look at this food all over him."

Misty's eyes twinkle as she smirks at Carson and shakes her head a little humor dancing in her eyes so it was easy to tell she was just giving him a hard time.

Turning back to Con herself she takes the towel from him with a bright smile one her face.

"Why don't I whip some tables down, and you can try and drag some of them together and make on big table. Once I am done with wiping everything down I'll help get the plates as stuff out."

For a moment Katie is taken off guard as Kyle puts his arms around Alice but soon the shock is gone and hearing the news Katie gives a big smile and a nod.

"You two look perfect together. I'm so happy for you Kyle, anymore surprises for us hummm..?"

Giving a laugh and finally breaking away from the group to finish with the last bit of clean up Katie gives a small shake of her head. Looking up at Jason and giving a nod.

Yes it is. I'm happy for him and eager to hear his story. He might not have wanted to be the center of attchen coming back but I think he's gonna have it weather he likes it or not.

...And so the time rolled on and moved before anyone new it clean up was over, and though many were tired, they were never to tired for a little friendly part after a consort...

Leaning her own head back on the head rest of the jeep Alice lets out a content sigh and looks over to Kyle. She could tell her was tired it was all over his eyes, and she didn't feel a little wiped out herself. It had defiantly been a long time since they had had THAT much excitement. But as long as Kyle was still willing to go so was she.

"We can make it a few more hours. Worst come to worse she call it an early night and see everyone in the morning."

Seeing Kyle reach for the mountain dew bottle Karla can't help but laugh. Leave it to Kyle to not have early as an option, but that was one thing she loved about him he was always willy to go just a little more for his friends and family.

Taking the bottle from Kyle Alice's eyes giving a sparkle that breaks through the blanket of drowsiness. There was sure to be enough excitement tonight at Mom and Pop's to help her go on with a little more caffeine.

"Pst, I can't let you have all the fun alone now can I?"

Wise?

Carson gives a dramatic sigh, leaning his hands on the counter on either side of Misty, his forehead resting against hers. "Oh, I suppose we better... we don't want a riot on our hands."

Looking over his shoulder as Jamie and Con come in, a smile comes to his face. There were some people that would always remind him of who he had been before... and when those same people could now be called his close friends, it presented a little slice of joy that would always be tucked inside. "You just had to come in and break up a moment with my wife, didn't you?"

Still grinning teasingly, he helps Misty off the counter and turns to Jamie. "We don't know what time it is either, but do you think I'd tell that tank of yours no?"

Con laughs and wanders towards the counter, his arm around Jamie's shoulders. "Hey, if you don't want my help, I can just as easily walk out-"

"Did I say that?" Carson grabs a dish towel and tosses it at him. "Can you clean tables?"

"Mmm..." Con looks around skeptically. "I don't know... Jamie complains about my cleaning at home."

Carson laughs. "Sounds familiar. If you two really wanna help, you can tidy up out here... maybe put some tables together, though I think it's gonna be a big enough group that they won't all fit around one table setting anyway."

Joined by Alice, Kyle feels her arm slip through his, and he automatically shifts, not letting her get away with such a simple gesture. Pulling her around in front of him, he drapes his arms over her shoulders to take her hands in front, and plants a kiss on the top of her head.

Resting his chin on her head, he looks back at Katie, new life shining in his eyes and he throws her a wink. When he and Alice had left, they'd been friends, nothing more. But their relationship wouldn't be easily hidden, nor did he want it to be. "Alice is keeping her boyfriend in line too," he teases.

Phil is nearby and looks up quickly, suddenly realizing that indeed, Kyle and Alice were acting like a couple. He hadn't even noticed before this. A little grin surfaces, but he says nothing for now. He'd have to find out more later.

"Boyfriend?" Jen, however, was not going to let it slide. Wheeling up beside Kyle, she tugs on his shirt. "And you didn't say anything?!"

Kyle looks down at her, grinning. "You think I want gossip going on without me back here to defend myself? Much wiser to announce while I am here, don't you think?"

Even though there were a lot of things about her brother that Jen wished she knew, she doesn't let the pain show now. Instead, she giggles. "You? Wise?" Turning her eyes to Alice, she shakes her head. "Good luck with this one."

Watching from a distance, Jason grins a little as he coils up one of the extension cords.

It's good to see Kyle smile... he seems to be a bit more at peace since the last time we saw him. Jen said What's Up said something about him teaming up with a band, but said the information was a little vague. I wonder if this group with him are those people or what. I figured when Kyle walked out, he was quitting music for good. Hope we hear more of his story.

Wandering around in the back, Kip swings Karla's hand back and forth playfully as they wait for the others. "I don't know about you, but I am absolutely starving. Kyle said the pizza at this place was gonna be worth the wait though."

"You're always starving," Twila teases as she comes up to them.

"It's called metabolism," Kip counters. "Besides... I'm a growing boy." He sucks in his belly and puffs out his chest.

Twila quirks an eyebrow. "You keep using that excuse, you'll make someone think you'll never grow up."

Kip's lips form a crooked grin. "And...?"

Twila rolls her eyes, though she really did find it humorous. "The rest of us are gonna wait outside for Kyle... give him some space with his old friends."

"Say no more." Keeping a grip on Karla's hand, Kip pulls her out the door with him until they'd reached the parking lot.

They don't have to wait for too long. With all the extra hands, packing up JetStream's equipment was a breeze and everyone agrees to head over to Mom and Pop's. Jason takes Katie in his truck, while Phil, Jen and Mike go in Phil's pickup. Cryptic is scattered all about and they decide to take fewer vehicles, though Axel doesn't join in, liking it better just to drive alone with Jess and not be crowded. The group from South Dakota all pile back into their cars and fall into place in the caravan that need only go across town.

Watching everyone else pulling away, Kyle sits behind the steering wheel of Alice's jeep. Heaving a long sigh, he bends down and puts his forehead on the wheel, his eyes falling closed. "That was... exhausting," he admits. Everyone had been glad to see him, so that was good. But even with all the chaos and talking, not even half of his story had been shared - there was still so much they wanted to know about him and what had been happening. It was tiring to say the least.

"I'm really hungry and I really want to see everybody more at Mom and Pop's, I'm just... tired." Glancing up, he spies half a bottle of his Mountain Dew still waiting. "Aha!"

Grabbing it he takes a swig at the same time he tries to push aside all his apprehension. Now wasn't the time to crumble yet. Later... but not now. They had a party and he had to make it through that before having an emotional crash. For now, he would thrive on any adrenaline he had left.

"Ahhh." He smacks his lips and stifles a hiccup, offering some to Alice. "Join me?"

Eli smirks at his sister's groggy tone and shuts of the television. There wasn't much point in him staying up any longer. Standing up, he nudges Alec's foot... or whoever's foot it was under the blanket. "Hey... you staying the night?"

Alec lifts an eyebrow but doesn't open his eyes. "Mm-hmm." Who cared about caution? He pulls Ryan in a little tighter, his whole body completely relaxed and too tired to move.

Eli nods and shuts off the light, leaving the living room dark. "Alright. But come morning when Reese calls, I'm gonna tell him right where you are."

Hearing Eli walk down the hallway, Alec grins a little. He knew Ryan wouldn't mind him staying right here and he knew Eli didn't mind it either - he was just giving him a bad time. Alec yawns and kisses Ryan's cheek goodnight before letting his head fall back into the little nest that had been created in the couch pillows and blanket.

In line

Continuing to kiss Carson Misty can feel her feet lift off the ground before she can feel herself rest onto the counter. Misty can't help but laugh at Carson's mumbled words between kissing her.

Having Carson return again for another kiss Misty wraps her legs around his wast just letting the passion flow for a long while before pulling away and looking at him in the eye.

"Maybe we should get to making those pizza huh? If everyone gets here and there is no food, we got bigger problems."

Misty can't help but laugh again going to kiss Carson one more time but stops as the small bell on the door rings. Quickly turning around she laughs again.

"Ahhh man...Con they are kissing again....on the counter non the less."

Jamie gives a laugh as she leans into Con a little bit standing in the doorway. The kissing really didn't bother her but she didnt want to stand there any longer being a peeping Tom ether.

"We heard there was a party going on here, and we didn't know what time so we though maybe we could help out a little before hand."

Standing with Kip and enjoying the music Karla was having a great time. The was one of the first concerts she had ever been to and so far she was having a great time. With the adrenalin of everyone Karla seemed to lose her shy edge very easily. Shifting a little her fingers find Kips as she looks to him and gives a smile.

As Kyle comes up to her Katie smiles. Returning the hug she lets it linger for a long moment. Kyle was her long time friend and she had missed him just as much as anyone else.

"Kyle!"

Just holding her hug for the longest moment Katie just lets her own emotions go free. It was so good to see her friend again and to know he was doing well.

"You look even better. It was such a surprise to see you, no a day went by we didn't think about you and wonder how you were."

Pulling away a little and looking to Kyle's left Katie catches sight of Alice. Backing away a few steps she smiles and nods to her.

"Alice...its good to see you again."

Stepping close to Kyle and linking her arm with his Alice looks to him and than Katie her own smile across her face.

"You as well Katie. Keeping that boyfriend of yours in line?"

"Always, the best I can anyways."

Both women laugh slightly there eyes sparking.

Just laying on the couch with Alec Ryan leans her head on top of his, watching the tv but dozing i and out of sleep. Hearing the knock on the door Ryan hardly moves to comfortable to even think about it.

Hearing Leo's voice though Ryan crains her neck a little to look over the couch and out the door. In a way she wish Leo would of come in for a drink but at the same time she was kind of happy he hasn't or it might have been a little awkward.

But one the door is close again Ryan snuggles down under the covers a little more with Alec. Looking up only once as her brother talks she gives a smile.

"Mmm...tomorrow..thats gonna be fun."

Tempted

"Mmm." Carson holds Misty tighter, giving her a teasing growl as she embraces him. Laughing in between kisses, he returns her love and passion, spinning her around and lifting her up so she could sit on the counter.

Sending light kisses down her neck, he mumbles about getting back to work. "Pizza... kitchen... must go...." Sighing into her hair and smelling her shampoo, he doesn't leave yet. "Work... gotta cook..." He returns to kissing her. "...Ready for... bands."

Everyone loves Kyle singing with JetStream, and his voice rings out clear and strong - even stronger than the last time this group had heard him. Sliding into his old role was fun, and the smile on his face proved it as his energy hyped up the crowd even more. Not missing a beat, he's all over the stage, not being caged behind a keyboard. Phil convinces him to do one more song with them, but then Kyle declines anymore, not wanting to take over JetStream's concert or Jason's time on stage.

So as the music continues, Kyle wanders back to his seat next to Alice, sliding down beside her and heaving a long sigh. The adrenaline rush left him with a slight crash afterward, though this mile on his face doesn't leave. Glancing to her and taking her hand, all he can do is laugh, silent behind the music and singing.

For some, the evening seems to take forever, and for others, the concert is over all too soon. The crowd is a small mass, milling and moving towards the back again, making their way out of the auditorium. And soon, almost all that's left is JetStream, most of Cryptic, Kyle's band, and a few extra friends.

Kyle had started to just stand back and watch from the sidelines, but JetStream would have none of that, dragging him to help and talk with them. There's a lot of talk, a lot of questions, and exhausting, chaotic, sporadic conversation. Jen and Phil have a ton of questions for Kyle, but not all can be answered and it's obvious that catching up was going to take a lot more time than just tonight. Kyle is able to convince them though, that he would join them at Mom and Pop's and he'd be in the area for at least a while so they would have plenty of time to talk.

Amidst the hustle and bustle, Kyle is getting worn out, but eventually finds himself off to the side a little to regroup. Spotting Katie, he realizes that he hadn't yet actually said hi to her. A smile grows on his face and he wanders nearer to her, the look on his face a little sheepish, tired, relieved and happy all at the same time. "Hey, KT." Not hesitating, he pulls her into a playful hug. "Long time no see. You're lookin' good."

Eli flips channels on the television, the volume up louder than needed. His free hand strums the chair armrest as a feeling of boredom takes over. He wanted to get started on his little plan now, but he had to wait until tomorrow night.

Glancing over to the couch, he sees that Alec is close to asleep, sprawled across the cushions with Ryan somewhere under there too. The guy had admitted Reese had blown his top at him, yet he had still dared to go against orders, sneak out of TJY and come here to spend the evening with Ryan. He was either in love or stupid. Maybe both. Eli couldn't decide. But Alec had agreed to help tomorrow night, so Eli couldn't be too annoyed with him.

A knock at the door comes and goes without being heard. When it comes a second time though, Eli realizes that someone must be there. Groaning as he gets up, he points a finger to the couch. "If that's Reese, I'm not gonna cover your butt."

Wandering to the door, he throws it open, surprised to see Leo before he remembers that he was supposed to get a key tonight. "Leo... hey."

Leo nods, his eyes unable to stop from wandering into the apartment. "Hey. Uh... woulda called but my phone died. Mark said he'd just leave the shed open... so you won't need a key."

"Sounds even better." Eli motions inside. "Wanna beer or something?"

Leo shakes his head a little. "I, um... saw a familiar car out there... figured you had company."

"The Elite car?" Eli smirks. "Yeah. It was, uh... borrowed I guess."

"Mm-hmm." Leo didn't have to ask. He knew Alec was here. "Well, I'll get going. Take it easy."

"Yeah, thanks." Eli waves and watches Leo walk away, feeling a little badly that Leo felt he couldn't come in. Shutting the door, he wanders back into the living room and flops down again. "Tomorrow's a go." No response. He lifts a foot and jolts the end of the couch. "Alec! You gonna make it to tomorrow night?"

"Mmm." Alec nestles further into the couch... pillow... Ryan... whatever it was. It was warm and comfortable and that's all he knew, and he was fighting falling asleep. His head rests somewhere between Ryan's head and shoulder, and his arm was tucked around her, their legs tangled somewhere with the cushions. He was awfully tempted to play hooky from TJY all night.

Happy

Losing sight of Kyle in the crowd for now Katie new she would see him a little later and continues her normal duty as things went smoothly. Feeling the energy in the crowd and on stage Katie gets into it just as much as anyone else.

As the night rolls on and the band comes to there break Katie shifts a little but stops as Phil looks out to the crowd his eyes wide. Hearing Jason's question her head snaps to the crowd she was sure she hadnt missed anything.

No everything's fine out there.

But hearing Phil's words that followed Katie's face breaks out into a smile. Phil had spotted his brother. Katie couldn't help the excitement she had been holding inside the first time she saw him and now it just flowed over.

He does look good. It's been a long time...It's good to see him.

As Kyle pass making his way to the stage Katie gives a nod to him and a bigger smile than before. For now His family was calling him, she would talk to him after the consert and drag him to Mom and Pop's if he wasn't planning on going already.

The smile on Alice's face was so big as she watched Kyle greet his family and friends. She was so happy to see him welcomed back and his fears just being whipped away. It was a great feeling and she loves it. Seeing Kyle look out at her Alice gives him a thumbs up before clapping along with everyone else and cheering him on loudly.

Giving a little chuckle as Carson kissed her neck and just held her Misty leaned her head onto his a little. All moment's with Carson were great but it was the quiet moments when they were alone she loved the most.

"Mmmm...you think I'm gonna leave you here to have all the fun without me? I'm not that old you know that I need an early bed time."

Turning her head and giving Carson a kiss on his for head Misty turns around slowly so his arms were still around her but she was now facing him. Smile she shakes her head a little a twinkle in her eye.

"Oh...I guess I can help you since you asked so nicely...but you owe me big time buddy."

Leaning in Misty rubs her nose against his before giving his lips a soft kiss and than retreating only to come back again for another kiss. This time with more passion her one had finding his back rubbing it softly, and the other the back of his head her fingers intermixing with his hair.
