Reassurance

Kip is fooling around in the corner when Karla emerges from the bathroom. Turning around, he's glad to see she's cleaned up, but the look in her eye is gut wrenching.

Sitting down next to her on the bed, he bites his lip. He didn't know what to do or how he could help her. But he did have an answer to her question. "I don't know... but we're not gonna send you back out in the cold."

A little hesitant, his conscience reminds him that he'd been caught with a girl in his room before and it had ended quite badly. This was very different though, and he wasn't going to leave Karla alone or rouse the house. If they thought he was wrong, so be it.

Taking Karla's hand, he scoots up to sit at the head of his bed, bringing her with him. Sitting against his pillows, he pulls her up between his legs so she can lean against his chest. HIs arms wrap around her in a strong embrace, not caring that her hair was still wet.

"It's going to be okay," he assures. He felt sick, thinking about what she'd just gone through and what she'd lost. "You're alright. You got out safe and that's the main thing. It's going to be okay."

Sparky gives Faith's hand a squeeze. "Everything's gonna be alright with that. I know it is." Though in the pit of his stomach he suddenly had a great fear, he didn't let it show.

"Come on..." He guides Faith from the stall then shuts the door and latches it. "I'll walk you to your bunk."

Grabbing his hat, he puts it back on, then hands her the flowers once more. Heading out of the barn, he checks on a few stalls and shuts of some lights, then walks beside Faith to the bunk houses. Once last kiss goodnight, and he's on his own again, meandering to his own bunkhouse. It felt just a little darker and a little colder tonight.

JT rubs Bree's arm comfortingly. Her words surprised him just a little. He knew she had strong feelings for Gunner, but wasn't expecting her to admit it aloud yet.

"Gunner loves you too, ya know... he told me so."

Looking at his niece, JT is suddenly overcome with the realization that one of these days, it might be Gunner taking care of her and not him anymore. The other man in her life that had just been a friend was becoming more and more, and soon, JT would be looking at her from a distance. He knew they would always be close but there was an element there that hurt just a little. And for the first time, he maybe felt just a small part of what a parent might feel.

Bree was as grown woman, no doubt. But they'd shared such good times during the last few years that it was hard to imagine anything changing.

"You'll see him soon... soon."

A smile spreads on David's face at Angelica's acceptance. "Well alright then - ice cream it is. But I have a feeling that after that, it's going to be awfully close to closing up for the night."

Putting away his own papers, it doesn't take long to be ready to leave Mom and Pop's. He gathers his bags and follows Angelica, at her mercy as far as transportation went.

Soon, they have arrived at a little ice cream shop and wind up outside under the lights, even though it's a bit chilly after sunset. David has a small dish and sucks on his spoon thoughtfully. "Mm... it's been a long time since I've had good ice cream."

Eyeing Angelica a moment, a smile surfaces. "So after we've won this case, how about coming back to California for a visit?"

Shower

Feeling Kip's comfort and his gentile arm around her Karla doesn't resist as he directors her to the bed. Just looking up at him as he tells her to wait Karla's eyes follow him out of the room till once he was gone they go to the ground.

Her stomach gave a growl but she wasn't hungry. Emotions bubbled and churned, pain and hurt coarse through her. It hurt even more than telling people where she lived, or that she was pretty poor.

As the door opens again Karla looks up quickly with a little jump being pulled out of her thoughts. Seeing the clothing in his hand it made Karla hurt just a little bit more as she took them from her. What would she do now?

Getting into the bathroom Karla closes the door and looks around the big bathroom for a long moment. It was roomy, and big defiantly able to tell a it was a man's bathroom but it was still neat. Going over to the shower Karla opens the curtain and looks for a moment on how to operate it still finally the water was running.

Getting into the warm shower the water felt good on her cold skin. But as the water warmed her it seemed her strong wall broke. Letting out a sob the tears finally came as they ran down her cheek mixing with the water. Just standing there for a long moment she finally pushed her face under the water to let it wash what remained of the dirt and tears away.

About 10 minutes later the door to the bathroom finally opens. Her hair wet, but the soot makes were gone, and the dark dirty trails the tears had left were gone as well. The clothes were a little big on her as she hadnt eaten much lately so she had lost a little bit of weight. But they were comfy non the less. Entering into the room she looks at Kip, her eyes were still sad but at least she was clean, and felt a tiny bit better.

"Thank you. I'm sorry to have come here so late...I...just...didn't know where else to go."

Going back over to the bed Karla sits down on the edge her arm around her again as she looks at the ground. She hated feeling this way, and she new not to worry but she couldn't help it. So many things ran through her mind and she felt so alone.

"Wha...whats going to happen now?"

Her question was more of a whisper, maybe to Kip or just to herself out loud.

Clean

As Kip realizes what had happened, the knot in his stomach tightens. Karla hadn't had much, but it had been everything, and now it was gone. And Rin... Kip had liked her dog very much and he couldn't imagine how she must feel right now to have lost one of her best friends like that.

"Oh, Karla... I'm so sorry." Kip wasn't sure even what to do. She looked cold, dirty and was probably in some state of shock. He didn't want to wake the whole house though - he knew that she wouldn't want a crowd just yet. And if she had wanted a hospital, she would have stayed and not come here. But should Kip get help anyway?

Debating, he looks at her eyes, so sad and he felt something stir in his heart. Reaching out, he puts his arm around her shoulders and guides her to his bed to sit down. "I'll be right back... just sit tight."

Slipping out of his bedroom, Kip is gone for only a few short minutes before returning. Closing his door quietly, he's sure not to alert the rest of the house. There really was no need to wake anyone right now... Karla didn't need that kind of attention yet.

Going back to her, he gently prompts her back to her feet and aims her to his bathroom. From under his arm, he hands her some of Twila's clothes that she kept here - clean sweat pants a tee and undergarments. "Clean yourself up," he directs softly but firmly to be sure she did it. "Then come back out and I'll be here, okay?"

Fire

Staring back at Kip thought the open window, she has seem him go head over heels off the bed. She couldn't help but feel bad for startling him. Her eyes were just a little dull as they looked back at Kip before climbing into his window.

Keeping her arms wrapped around herself Karla gave a sniff. Just thinking about it brought tears to her eyes. Everything she had, what little it was...was important and now it was gone. She was lower than low. Looking up at Kip her sad brown eyes searching his for a long moment. Fight the urge to cry again Karla's words come out soft.

"There....there was a fire down below me. I was in bed already for the night. I sleep like a log sometimes, and I didnt even know anything was wrong...I lost everything. Its all in a pile of ash where the build I use to live stood...and"

Karla takes in a deep breath as she goes into a coughing fit from all the smoke she had inhaled. She hadnt even bothered going to the hospital to make sure she was ok. Lost in a daze and winding up here was all that mattered.

"...if...if it hadn't been for Rin waking me I probably would of been burned alive. I couldn't even save him..he needed me he saved me, he was always there for me...and I just let him die in there."

Karla did her best to hold back the tears but actually saying the dog she had, had for more than 10 years stung. Rin had been her protector, her best friend and now she would never see him again. It hurt, and Karla couldn't help some of the slow tears than ran from her eyes.

Scared

Kip's eyes are almost shut when he hears a strange sound. Was it the tv? No. Odd. Hearing it again, he turns to look at the window. Seeing a face staring back at him, he gives a start, his eyes widening. "Holy cr-" Before he can stop, his own jolt sends him off the side of his bed and he disappears.

Crawling to peek around the foot of his bed, hen then recognizes the face. "Karla? What on earth..."

Confused, Kip gets to his feet and shuffles to the large window, unlocking it and swinging it open. "Karla, what..." His voice trails off as he sees her face and his stomach makes an uncomfortable twist.

The cold night air was coming in fast and he motions her inside. "Get in here out of the cold."

Once she's in his room, he shuts and locks the window again, turning to look at her in the light. He could smell the smoke from here and the black smudges on her face and clothes were further evidence of what Kip dreaded to ask. His eyes meet her, his gaze full of genuine concern. "What happened?"

Smoke

Leaning her head into the crook of Sparky's neck and shoulder Faith rested her head soaking in his warm hug. It was so comfortable here with him, his arms wrapped around her. If given the chance she would surly fall asleep. Faith's emotions ran so deep, in a way it kind of scared her but she would not fear them. They were to inviting, and brought her so much joy.

Smiling up at Sparky as he finally helps her up Faith lets out a content sigh. She'd been worried, but what for? In Sparky's eyes she could see the feelings, the emotions, He really didnt care what the others said, and nether did she.

"I feel the same and more. Your different Tyler than any other person I ever met. and I love it."

Standing on her tip toes and leaning into Sparky again Faith brings her nose to his and rubs it back and forth for a brief moment they smile on her face so big one might think it was stuck that way. Backing away a few steps again she holds his hand.

"I guess I should get some sleep too. Its gonna be a long day at the Dr. tomorrow."

Bree can't help the laugh the escapes her lips at JT's comment about Gunner and the guards. Even thought a few tears still escaped her eyes Bree couldn't help the small smile the formed on her lips just thinking about Gunner with the guards.

"I....can see him doing that too."

Giving a sniff Bree shifts a little sitting up now. Her eyes were bloodshot, her face was red but she didn't care. Her uncle has seen her when she had just woken up before, what was the diffrance when she was crying? It didnt happen much so maybe she was a little embarrass but who cared.

Tilting her head back Bree looking to the moon for a long moment. Whispering her goodnight to it, maybe hoping it would float on the wind to where Gunner was.

"I....really think I love him."

It sounded strange to admit that out loud, love was a word Bree had almost never spoken. Something she thought was not  met for her to ever find. But that day, in the cafe when she had first met Gunner her whole world had changed. A few more tears falling from Bree's eyes the smile stays on her lips, though she was hut, though there was much pain now, she would see Gunner again.

"Why dont you try calling him? He might have his phone still."

Angelica gathers her paper work up moving it out of the way so it didnt get messed up. Placing it back into her briefcase Angelica looking up at David again and gives a smile.

"I always work late."

Giving a laugh and shaking her head it was true but funny when she admitted it. She did work a lot unless she Reese asked her out to dinner, or a movie. Maybe some ice cream wouldn't be so bad?

"Ice cream huh? I guess I can sacrifice a few hours for some ice cream. But than after is back to work...ok?"

Walking down the street black smuges were bore on Karla's face. Walking slowly down the road in her pajamas the smell of smoke still rolled off her.

The first had been unexpected no doubt someone fell asleep while smoking again. But in the old building it took nothing to go up in flames. She had a little money but not enough for anything, she was cold, and the tears were dried to her skin now.

Where she was going, Karla didn't know but when she found herself standing outside the large house she was a bit surprised. Kip's house...why...He was her best friend someone she could always talk to but would he be sleeping would the rest of his family be in bed? Karla didnt know but she didnt want to just knock on his from or unless.

Skinny enough to slip through the bars Karla makes her way slowly up the driveway. Strange enough there was no shadow by her side it was empty for the first time in quite a while.Making her way around the side of the house Karla finds the window she is looking for. Knowing where Kip's room was made it easy enough. Now to get his attachen. In a hushed horse whisper she calls.

"Kip...KIP."

Her voice wasn't as loud as she wanted, the emotions and tears holding her words back so her voice wasn't quite that loud as she wanted. Scanning the sidding She spots a pipe. Going over to it and pulling it was secure with nice bolts to put her feet on.

Starting to climb Karla makes it up to the top in record time. Crawling across the porch roof Karla finally makes it to Kips window. Just leaning against the wall for a moment Karla takes a deep breath trying to control her own emotions that were raging. She didnt know what she was going to do, but she had to talk to someone.

Giving a light rap on the window Karla looks in seeing the TV on, but not being able to see deeping into the room she couldn't tell if Kip was awake or not.

Restless

With his arms still around her, Sparky chuckles and shakes his head at the horse. "Thanks a lot, Twilight."

His eyes move back to Faith and after a moment of simply studying her features, he pulls her close again for a strong hug. Just holding her warmly, he embraces her, wishing that life could be as simple as his feelings ran. He was falling in love with this woman - it didn't get any more complicated than that.

Drawing back, he moves his hands to tuck her hair behind her ears and leans his forehead down to rest against hers. "I thought this world didn't have any hope left... then God sent me an angel."

Sighing, Sparky knows that they couldn't stay here all night. He was tired and sore from a long day and sitting here in the straw with Faith was way too comfortable. But even if this growing relationship felt like a dream, they still lived in a real world where nights only lasted so long, and temperatures only stayed so warm.

He shifts his weight and lets go of Faith to stand then help her up. Brushing straw off of her and himself, he gives her forehead one last kiss. "You've given me something worth living for, Faith... I don't care what others say. 'Cause even if my heart winds up in pieces, it was worth this time with you. I only hope that... that you feel the same."

JT doesn't move or make Bree get up. He just holds her, rocks her and lets her cry. Though he felt like breaking down too, he forces himself to stay a strong shelter for her. He'd have plenty of time to break down later.

Rubbing her back, he croons softly to her, while silent prayers run through his mind to take all this pain away. It just wasn't fair... for a heart as pure as Bree's, to be tortured so.

Feeling her calming down and hearing her words, JT moves his head to look down into her eyes. "You don't need to thank me for anything," he responds quietly. "You're like my daughter, you know that... I couldn't just leave you there."

He kisses the top of her head and pulls her a little closer. "Gunner will be just fine. He's a fighter. If anyone can get out of this mess, it's him." He forces a smile. "Can you imagine the trouble he's giving the guards down there? He's probably already got them convinced he's a vampire that drinks rootbeer floats instead of blood."

Glancing up to the sky, JT points. "See that moon? Even if you can't find the right stars, what do you bet Gunner's looking at that same moon right now?"

David stares across at Angelica, once again his expression seeming not to fit the conversation, but something else that might be on his mind - one that made a smile appear just below the surface.

"Great - sounds like a good idea. The more we can dig up the better. Have your guy check it out. In the meantime I need to try and find JT to see if he got anything else that night. It'll be a while before anyone realizes I'm in town, so I'm safe for a few days."

Finishing the rest of his water, he pushes his plate aside a little. "So do you still work 'til the wee hours of the morning, or could I convince you to go get ice cream somewhere?"

"How's this?" Kip picks out the notes on his bass guitar, sending  the thumping rhythm through the upstairs of  the house.

Kyle and Erik nod. "I like it," Kyle confirms. "That should work better." Standing up from the chair, he stretches and yawns. "I'm hitting the hay, guys." The rest of the house was already asleep for the night. Wandering from Kip's room, only the two men are left.

Kyle passes his room and aim's for Alice's instead. Knocking on the door, he opens it just a crack. "Night you," he calls softly. "Don't forget we're doing breakfast tomorrow, just you and me."

"So..." Erik cocks his head at Kip. "Think this is gonna work?"

"I hope so." Kip nods. "Looking forward to showing our stuff. Can't no more than do our best I figure. Kyle seems pleased with how everything is going."

"Yeah, I think we sound good." Erik rises and aims for the door. "We got an early practice tomorrow... you better get some shuteye like the rest of us."

"Yeah, yeah." Kip waves him out the door, left on his bed to play around with his bass for a few more minutes before putting it on its stand. Stretching out on his bed, he stares up at the ceiling, his mind too full to sleep. Things had been going well with the band. They were getting closer and closer to being ready to perform and they sounded good. No one else would believe they could come together like this so well in such a short time, comparatively speaking.

Around the house, things were going well, too. The band was practicing here now instead of Theo's - it was just too cold in his garage now and his heaters weren't cutting it. A thick frost was forming on the grounds tonight... they were predicting snow in a couple days. The band was getting anxious to move forward, but after their first tryout had been postponed, they were now waiting for the phone call that would tell them when they could come perform.

Kip was enjoying seeing Karla around the house too. Whenever he got a chance, he'd wander around until he'd find where she was cleaning so he could sit and talk with her. Sometimes he'd make sure he ate lunch at the same time she did too so they could eat together. Erik's mom had told him that Karla was doing a great job and had even gone the extra mile by getting the mail or answering the phone a couple times when everyone else was busy. Kip was thrilled it was working out, glad that Karla could get some money so she could take care of herself.

Sighing, Kip rolls over, his light still on. It was getting late, but after all that had been going on, one more thing had still been added to the pot. His father. He'd shown up yesterday, drunk. Erik's dad had sent him away but not before Kip had seen him from a distance. It had put his stomach in knots and the phone call an hour later had just made it worse. Erik had told him not to take the call but he just...had to.

Giving a groan, Kip rolls over the other way and flips on his television. Maybe a B movie would put him to sleep.

Snort

Sparky's returned kiss, his arms around her, his hands running up and down her back sent shock waves up and down Faith's spine. She could feel her knees start to weaken, as her heart seemed to race faster than ever before. Time around her seemed to stop, as everything faded away. It was just Sparky and herself, in this moment with theses emotions.

Feeling Sparky start to move to the ground Faith was all to thankful to continues the kiss but sit in his lap before she fell down. His sweet lips seemed to be almost like an addiction and one more kiss would never be enough. His warmth, his tastes, the way his arms wrapped around her it offered so much. Safety, love, Friendship that ran much deeper, as there heart over flowed. Time stoped, yet time slipped by, and seconds turned into minutes that they sat there in the moment.

All to soon though Faith hears a snort behind her, and can feel the horses breath close to them. She didn't want this moment to end, she didn't want to kiss to stop but she cant help the small giggle that escapes her lips breaking the kiss. Keeping her arms around Sparky's neck a million sorrys shown in her eys as she cocks her head and gives a head jolt motioning to the horse behind her.

"I think we have an audience interested in what we are doing."

Faith looks over her shoulder as she is met by a wet noise. Shaking her head and laughing at Twilight, before looking back at Sparky and smiling her eyes dancing, the dark shadow of doubt seemed to be chased away. After this, she new Sparky cared to much to walk away, as she did for him.

Hope

Faiths words and actions blended together in such a way to make Sparky's pulse race. He didn't know what she did to him... but it was mesmerizing. The way her hand brushed his forehead as she took his hat... the soft determination in her voice... the way she wrapped her arms around him and pressed her lips to his. Everything... absolutely everything pulled him to her as if there was nothing he could do to stop it.

Returning her kiss, his arms slip around her waist, his one hand gently running up and down her back. Retreating just to cock his head another way, he continues the kiss, his heart beating loudly in his head. With his eyes closed, he couldn't see the world around him - all he could do was feel Faith in his arms, taste her kiss and dream.

Leaning back against the wall, Sparky slowly slides down into the clean stall bedding, forcing Faith to sit in his lap. Not breaking the kiss, he just holds her close as if thinking maybe if he hoped enough, the moment wouldn't end.

Retreat

Angelica gives a nod and a small laugh as she looks up at David again. She had worked with him for so many years she new it wasnt hard for him to tell when she liked something or not.

"I...think I am having way to much fun."

Thinking for a long moment as she took another bite of her salad Angelica mulled over Davids words. Fax, text message, mail, letters...Text message. Sifting through the papers that Dalton had given her Angelica looks for something that might have caught her eyes. Finally finding it she smiles.

"Bree's parents use Sprint for there cell phone. My sister happens to use sprint as well and I remember her complain once about when she wants to delete a text she has to go online and delete it as well. I wonder...if we can get into there account and pull up there texts. There might be something there that would help."

Angelica smile as she sips her water again just looking across the table at David. His features now seemed softer than when she had last seen him. Still professional but more layed back. He fallen into the roll nicly and still held such profession, Angelica was happy to know he was doing well.

As JT's arms wrap around her Bree curls tighter into his arms. The comfort she was seeking was there, maybe not from the man she was hopping but her Uncle would always be just as good.

Leaning her head into his shoulde Bree just crys a million tears seem to come out, it had been so long if ever since she had last cryed. And now she was letting it all out.

The time slowly went by and Bree's tears turned to sobs, than whimpers, but finally stopped as she still layed nestled and curled up in JT's lap. Moving her head a little showed she was still awake, but she felt so drained now. just shifting a little she looks up at her Uncle trying to give a small smile her tired whisper comes forth.

"I never...got to say thank you. For rescuing me. Gunner will be ok...right?"

Feeling Sparky's hand on her face Faith leans her head into it a little closing her eyes. So soft, and light his touch was and how it made her heart jump.

"Because if things were easy, it just wouldn't be life."

Opening her eyes again, she studys his own as he talks. Knowing and understanding what he was saying Faith thought for a long moment. Retreating for a moment one might think she was walking away but reaching over the stall Faith sets the flowers on the bail of hay on the other side.

Than coming back to where Sparky was standing she stepped up close to him not saying anything. Her heart thumbed, and her stomach seemed to flutter even more. Reaching up Faith removes his hat tossing it over the the stall to land next to her flowers.

Wrapping her arms around his neck and standing on her tip toes so she was eye level with him. A smile formed on her lips, and a glint in her eyes.

"If you stand to close to the edge, I'll stand with you. So if you fall I can catch you and you wont ever have to find the peaces of you heart again."

Leaning in Faith press her lips to Sparky letting the emotion flow through her, but pulling away for a moment she smiles searching his eyes again.

"I don't know how it happend, but I am head over heels for you. These emotions, and feelings I feel I can't stop them nor do I want to."

Coming back again Faith press her lips to Sparky's the kiss, the sweetness, it washed over her as her one had found the back of his head, and the other was still wrapped around his next. This was her answer to him, heartache is not what she saw, and trying was all to worth it.

Pieces

Somewhere in the middle of Angelica's talking, David is far away, half listening. Instead of his eyes on the papers, they were lingering on his hand where she'd brushed against him. Sighing, he realizes she's stopped talking. "Hmm? Oh... no, I think we're even. I think we got everything covered that we can at this point."

Returning to his partially warm food, he takes another bite. "We do need some harder facts though. We need to get a hold on something written... an agreement... money changing hands... financial records... anything that would prove the hidden dealings. Anyone like this always messes up somewhere or misses something. They think they've got it covered, but eventually..." He gestures with his fork. "Eventually they slip up. Voicemails... text messages... things they don't think anybody else will ever see."

Leaning back, he looks into Angelica's eyes, seeing their spark. She loved this work even more than he did, if that was possible. A grin tweaks the corner of his mouth. "You're having way too much fun with this."

Nodding, he thinks some more. "If this guy of yours wants to do more digging, let him. Just have him be careful. If he got this far without getting caught, I got a pretty good idea he's good."

JT had thought his heart couldn't hurt more, but he'd been wrong. Seeing Bree's tears and hearing her words, his heart feels like it's breaking into a million pieces. As she lies her head in his lap, he rubs her shoulders and runs a hand through her hair. "It's okay, Bree... it's okay," he soothes.

Taking her hands, he stops her from hitting the ground anymore, and he pulls her in even closer so he can wrap his arms around her. "Everything's going to work out, you'll see. You'll get to see Gunner again, I promise."

Rocking a little, he closes his eyes, begging God to end this pain, if not his own, then just Bree's. "Shh... just relax. It'll be okay."

"Tyler." Sparky grins and cocks his head, looking down at Faith. His tone is deep and mellow. "For some reason, I don't mind it when you call me that."

Reaching out, he brushes the side of her face with his hand. "Why can't just one thing in life be simple? Why do people have to go and make it more complicated than it has to be?"

Pursing his lips, he gives a little sigh, but doesn't break eye contact. "What do you think, Faith? Is it worth a go? Or is heartache down the road for both of us? Tell me now because I'm so close to the edge that if another second passes and it ends up failing, I'll never find all the pieces of my heart again."

Thank you

Angelia beams not being able to give a little laugh. She was happy David was thinking like she had on Bree seeing a Dr. Even though she was one step a head at least she new it was bring thought by someone else.

"There is already someone on there way to see Bree. As soon as she knows anything she will be contacting me, and sending me her paper work."

Taking a sip of her lemon water for a moment Angelica just swallows it whipping her mouth. She could feel her mouth going dry already from rambling so much but that's what always had made her a good lawyer. Her ability to talk and talk on the same topic but never repeat herself.

"We pretty much need to take this thing one step at a time. Get Bree safe from going back to Crescentview is the first step. Than from there maybe we will be able to get our hands on stuff to do with her parents. I am not quite sure where to start looking though. People with a lot of power like them tend to hide well. I wonder if I could get on the inside some how...what do you think? I could always try and see if my friend can do some more digging of his own. Only thing is, I don't want him to get caught and pulled into this mess ether."

Angelica felt so concentrated on this work that she didn't even realize er hand brushed David's resting there for a moment before reaching back for her briefcase again to pull out more papers. Most of them talked about Bree's parents, and what they owned, where they eat at...even down to what shampoo they used. It really wasnt much but Angelica was thankful for anything Dalton had dug up. Who new if they looked through everything maybe there was something.

" So do you know anything more maybe I left out or didnt know?"

Continuing to look up at the sky Bree gently moves her fingers against the sky. The sides of her face still wet as the small tears over spilled them Bree doesn't turn her head to look at JT continuing to look at the sky she finally whispers trying to keep her voice from shaking.

"I'm looking...for the palm of Bree. I have to find it....Gunner's hand is not far from it, our fingers lock together, and I want to hold his hand."

It was hard fighting her emotions, her heart acked, and even though she was surrounded by people who would be her friend at the ranch Bree felt so alone without him.

Not being ablut to hold the tears back as she felt so frustrated not being able to find the starts her sniffles grow..turning her self into JT's lap her shoulders shake from her tears.

"I cant find it....I cant find his hand."

Her fists softly pound the ground, not to hurt herself but from her own pain and frustration, she just wanted to talk to Gunner, to hold him..she missed him so much.

Standing in the stall with Twilight Faith gives a small laugh as the horse takes the apple from her hand. The small whiskers on her chin, and her toung tickling her palm.

"I figured you deserved a tear after your work out. I bet you liked stretching your legs huh?"

Scratching the horses chin Faith didnt even hear Sparky come up. She was lost in a wold of her own with the horse. The soft coat, the gentle sounds of the barn. Faith had become so use to them she found them more than soothing. Leaning her face against Twilight's nose she give her a gentile kiss, her words were soft.

"I better not feed you to many apples I dont know when I will get to give you a work out again. I know Sparky cares for me, and likes me a great deal but...I dont think his family does. Maybe he is going to change his mi...."

Faith's words are cut off as she gives a small jump not expecting the stall door to open. Turning around quickly and seeing Sparky standing there a small smile forms on her lips as her heart starts to race. Was it from worry and wonder what would happened next, or could it been from just the simple sight of him, and the longing for his arms to be around her and his lips pressed to her own.

Seeing the flowers being held out to her Faith can't help it as her smiles grows even bigger, and her eyes that had filled with a little worry seemed to twinkle now. No one had given her such a pressies gift before. Stepping forward Faith takes them from Sparky and holds them for a long moment before finally bringing her face down to them and putting her nose in. Taking a big long whiff she in hails the sweet smell and a small moan would conferm to anyone she liked them.

Looking up at Sparky again Faith trys to study his eyes but cant get a good enough view as his hat was casting a shadow over his face. Taking a few more steps closer she brings her finger up to the brim like she had so many times before and pushes his hand up a little. Now being able to see those steel blue eyes she had fallen so deep into she searching falling once again. Finding her voice her words come on in a soft whisper like a song on the summer breeze. Wrapped in emotion she didn't even realize she didn't use english words for thank you.

"Vi tackas Tyler, the flowers are beautiful."

Goodnight

David's eyebrows rise as Angelica talks, forgetting about his food for the time being. He listens carefully, waiting until she's finished to comment. "Good gracious... you  must have made some new friends. How did you manage to get the full story and all those facts so fast? I thought I was coming to give you information, not the other way around!"

He shakes his head and laughs. "Never mind. Don't tell me. Bottom line - what you told me lines up with everything Jack, or JT, has told me. He wanted to keep things on the up-and-up. Wanted to solve things through all the right channels to make sure there were no mistakes. I'm assuming it was Gunner that convinced him to derail and go after Bree himself."

Digging into his own briefcase, he pulls out a folder, thumbing through some papers. "I checked on a few things on my way over here and it looks like the police have identified JT for sure - they know it was him with Gunner so there's a warrant out for his arrest. Nothing surprising but it's official now." He did not know where JT had taken Bree, or that Hope had already quietly informed Angelica everyone was safe so that Gunner would rest easier.

"So yes... emails. Fantastic. Even if they're not proof of actual dealings yet, it's a start and it at least proves motive and opportunity. I think what we're going to need is a clean mental bill of health from a psychiatrist or counselor, along with proof of her parent's dirty dealings. If we can get a doctor to Bree, we can get half of that accomplished. It's going to be proof of her parents that will be hard. The first will at least keep Bree safe from Crescentview again, but we need to with this whole thing or she'll always be in danger."

JT smiles and shakes his head. "I guarantee you wouldn't be a third wheel. But if you'd feel better having Gunner along, I know Bree would enjoy that too." He thinks for a moment, lapsing back into a bit of sadness and worry. "We just have to get him out of jail first."

Rolling onto his back, he stretches out, deep in thought. "Funny how things turn out isn't it?"

Brief conversations and quietness followed, passing the time of the day. Soon it was suppertime and JT wasn't too surprised that Bree didn't return for the meal. Someone said they'd seen her though, so he wasn't worried until after dark and he began to wonder if she'd wandered too far.

After supper, he heads outside, walking slowly and trying to find his niece. He checks the barns, around the bunkhouses, and any nook where he thought she might be. Growing more concerned, he looks with a little more purpose, asking a few of the ranch hands if they'd seen her again.

Finally he heads around back of the barn where he sees the bundle on the ground. He was relieved and saddened at the same time. Ambling closer, he lowers himself to sit on the cold ground next to Bree, wondering why she hand her hands up in the air. "Hey, kiddo," he greets softly. "Thought I'd lost ya." He'd ask how she was, but he knew the answer already. "What are you doing?"

Sparky hadn't been seen the rest of the day and had not shown up for supper. Someone said he'd gone into town a couple hours prior, but no one had seen him since. There was an odd feeling in the air without him around. Not only was the boss gone, but with Sparky gone too, it just didn't feel right.

One of the ranch pickups comes back into the driveway and parks near the bunk houses, the lights shutting off. Sparky sits quietly in the dark for several minutes, his mind and heart so full.

Sighing, he finally gets out and heads to Annie and Faith's bunkhouse. Finding it empty, he goes and looks in the window of the dining hall, but doesn't see Faith there either. A little concerned, he heads to the barn where a few of the lights were still on.

Wandering inside, he stop and looks around, then heads to the far corner. It was just a hunch, but it was worth following. And he was right. Walking slowly, he approaches the stall, seeing Faith inside with Twilight. Standing a moment, he just watches. Finally though, he unlatches the stall, knowing that it would alert Faith to his presence.

Letting himself in, he doesn't say anything, but just looks at her. Reaching from behind his back, he offers her a small bouquet of flowers. No smile was on his lips, but a softness was still in his eyes. Something had changed... something had shifted. In the depths of those steel blue eyes, partially shielded by his hat, lingered the longing that had formed since knowing Faith. But now there was a shadow... a shadow that cast questions and doubts upon something that only hours before had seemed so simple.

Axel laughs at Jess' stomach and he nods. "I guess I'm getting hungry myself. How about we go out somewhere nicer than fast food? My treat. Then we can definitely come back here."

Gunner stands at the far wall of his cell, looking up  through the tiny window with bars. There were too many lights interfering with the view, making it impossible to see many stars. He could just make out a few of the brighter ones though, assuring him that they were still there.

Just staring at the black expanse, he can feel the painful ache in his heart. "Goodnight, Bree," he whispers.

Search

As the food comes Angelica drizzles a little bit of the dressing over her salad before mixing it up. Taking a small bit she closes her eyes for a moment just slavering the taste. This had to be one of the best places to get a salad she new of.

Finally looking back to David for a moment, her look was inquisitive but than as she realized who he was talking about she wanted to smack herself.

"For a moment there I didnt know who you were talking about. I am use to everybody calling him JT not Jack. Sorry about that."

Taking another bit of her salad and than patting her lips with the napkin Angelica reached into her brefcase and pulled out some paper and information she had.

"Ok, JT's niece Bree, has been living in this area for a very long time. She spends most of her time with JT as he is really the only family she has or cares to give her the time of day. Recently, Gunner and her have been involved. They are both different on there own level, some would say odd, but they are just different.."

Continuing the conversation Angelica fills David in on Bree's past, and about Gunner, from JT back to what happend with Bree and her family that sent her to the hospital once again, and that they think money is involved and many people are being payed off.

"..And this is what lead us to believe people are being payed off.."

Pulling out another stack of paper neatly clipped together Angelica slides them on the table. Most of them were emails mad out to the hospital.

"...A friend of mine has many high places to look for things and he came across these emails. I haven't been through most of them but the first five talk about money, and persuading people to see things Bree's parents way. Her father is a Senator he has a lot of money, and can pretty much get anyone to do anything."

Angelica's eyes search David's face again wondering what he himself though about all this, or if he even new more than she did.

Looking down at JT Amanda gives a small laugh and a little shake of her head. She was honered JT had asked her. It was very nice of him.

"I would have to decline, being the third wheel is never fun, and I feel like I would just get in the way of your time with her."

Thinking for a moment another smile forms on Amanda's lips as the wheels in her head started to turn. Looking up at the ceiling for a moment she was quiet before looking to JT yet again.

"Now, if we could get Gunner to come along too. That I wouldn't feel like the third and would consider it. What do you think?"

Closing her eyes for a moment Jess lets out a content sigh. Axel's hands on her skin felt so soft, yet rough from the years of working on cars. It mixed well though, leaving her skin feeling a tingle. A small whisper formed as her reply.

"Yes...we can."

But her stomach gives a loud protest and her eyes fly open looking at Axel and giving a blink. A little color of embarrassment comes to her face.

"I guess my stomach don't agree though. It might end up eating itself and than that...will just be messy. We should probably find something to eat, but than if you want we can return to this wonderful couch to snuggle."

Annie gives a little shake of her head. She wished things would of gone better, but the lack of finding words to make everything smoother didnt seem to help. They were just trying to help there brother.

"No, I don't. I guess even at our age we have to live and learn. I do hope it works out for him. He really has been happy ya know?"

Annie looks up at Jim and gives a smalls mile. She didn't think anything was his fault. He had just been worried and there way nothing wrong with that.

As the door to the dinning hall opens Faith moves her head a little and see Sparky come out. As he starts to make his way down the steps she figured he didn't see her but as her stops and turns he knows he has.

While he just stands there it feels like Faith's stomach was in knots. He wasn't saying anything and she didn't know if that was a good or a bad thing. Finally about to say something of her own she stops as Sparky walks away.

Faith's heart sinks as an unexpected tear runs down her cheek. It felt like she had just been punched, and now there was a crack. It had been a long time since she had felt like this her emotions seeming to go every way. She didn't know how Sparky felt, or even what he was thinking on everything that happened with his family. Maybe it was just best to stay out of the way for now. Continuing to sit on the swing and rock, she just let the few silent tears fall.

Pulling a blanket from the barn Bree finally finds a place in the cool grass to lay it down. Night had come now, and the stars were starting to come out. Laying on her back she looks up at the sky as if searching for something. A wetness behind her eyes seems to want to break forth and no matter how Bree tried the drop of water broke free. But paying no attention to it Bree raises her hands in the air against the sky.Still looking, still still searching, she had to find it.

Silent

"Sure." David grins a little, his eyes showing a strange faraway look for a moment. "Of course we can stay in touch, that's why I'm here. Not much of a comparison to having a partner by your side though."

Sighing, he pauses as their food is brought and he thanks Aerith with a smile. Concentrating on the food, he shifts gears, seeming to drop whatever point he was trying to make before. "Alright. Enough jabber. What do you know about this case with Jack?"

JT grins. "Ooh... Hawaii sounds nice, but I could settle for a camping trip too. It's been years since I've done that."

Rolling over onto his side, facing Amanda, he cranes his neck a little. "Yeah... maybe Bree and I could do that... get away for a few days up in the woods."

He studies her face for several moments. "What about you? How about making it a threesome?"

"Mmmm." Axel rolls his neck a little, enjoying Jess' brief massage to his shoulders. Just watching her take his hands and kiss his fingers, the corner of his mouth upturns into a grin. Then having his arms around her, he pulls her even closer, nestling his face into the crook of her shoulder and neck.

"You sure know how to make a guy feel good, you know that? With you, how can I be scared?"

Drawing back, he lifts his good hand to cradle her face, his thumb tracing her cheek. "I love you too," he whispers. "Can we just stay like this... forever?"

Watching Wes walk away, Jim lets out a little groan. "Sure... coulda been worse if Sparky would have punched one of us. I'm sorry... I shouldn't have started this thing. I mean... I'm not sorry I was concerned, just... I thought I was doing the right thing and... maybe I wasn't."

He looks at his sister lamely. He felt stupid for not handling this thing better. "Yeah, I'm still a little worried. But I did all I could... more than I should have. So..." He shrugs. "I guess that's that, unless you have any bright ideas."

Sparky stalks out the door, shoving his hat down a little further on his head. Stuffing his hands in his pockets, he doesn't even notice the figure on the porch swing until he's already down the steps and aiming for the barn.

Movement catches the corner of his eye and he stops, turning his head a little to see Faith. For the longest time he just looks at her, the brim of his hat hiding part of his face. His expression resembles that of someone who had received news that a best friend had died.

Then slowly, his gaze lowers. Still standing for another moment, he then turns and continues his silent route to the barn.

Better than....

Smiling Angelica listens to everything David said about the firm in Cali with much intent. Nodding her head here and there listing intently.

"Oh, fresh out of law school is the best way to get them. Don't have to break any habits, and you get to teach them your way."

Taking a sip of her coffee Angelica lets the liqued slip down her throat as she study David for a long moment. The smile spreading across her face again as she held her warm up. Cocking her head to one side for a moment.

"You goof, I miss you too if thats what your getting at. Sometimes being solo is just not the same as having someone else at your side"

She'd never trade where she was now, working for TJY it was the best and felt like her calling. Helping those who needed and being able to defend friends, it was a great feeling. But sometimes the past would still sneak up and remind her of old times, and what she left behind.

"Well, at least we still can talk, and occasionally see each other right?"

Listing to JT Amanda smiles and gives a little shake of her head. She new what he ment about hiding in work. You would see so many injured people one would wonder how it could be a shelter at all but knowing you helped those people that were dieing it was comforting knowing you helped save someone.

"No its not silly. It made a lot of scene actually."

Moving on the bed again as she thought for a moment Amanda moves back on the bed next to JT. Leaning her back aganst the wall she puts her feet out in front of her.

"Mmmm...a beach sounds nice, like the Caribbean, or Hawaii But I could simply settle for camping too."

Leaning her head back on the wall for a long moment Amanda is quiet as she thinks about being someplace nice and warm. Vacation...it sure would be nice. Opening her eyes again Amanda turns her head and looks at JT giving a smile.

"Maybe once this is over you and Bree should both take a vacation."

Seeing the serous look in Axel's eyes and hearing his words Jess heart breaks just a little. She would always care for Axel, and love him no matter if his hand worked or not.

Siting up a little bit Jess used the arm of the couch to pull herself up and into Axel's lap so she was facing him, and her legs were folded under herself on leg on each side of his own. Bringing her hand to his chest and than his shoulders gently massaging them.

"If the surgery dosnt work, than you will still be the man I care about very much, and love with my heart. You dont have to have two good hands to take care of someone. You will only have to going about things a differnt way. And I will love you all the same Axel."

Removing her hands from his shoulder Jess takes both his hand sin her own. Gently spreading his fingers on the bad hand giving each finger a kiss even if he couldn't feel it. Than gently she places his hands around her as she leans into him slightly.

"You can still hold me. I'll be with you through this every step of the way."

Annie and Wes look at eachother before looking back to Sparky. Annie lets out a long sigh as her brother walks away. It had all blown up and for nothing really. Were they over reacting?

Wes shakes his head as Sparky starts to walk away. Looking back at his siblings he sighs.

"I new we should of left it alone. Oh well, I hope you guys feel better now. I have to finish with Clint."

Making his own exit Annie lets out a long sigh. Putting her head in her hands a small headach had formed.

"Well that could of gone worse I guess! Do you think we should be worryed still?"

Still sitting on the swing Faith rocks back in forth as the chilly wind stings her cheeks. The air felt nice even if it was a little cold. Wondering when Sparky would come out from inside she just wanted. Over hearing the conversation made her upset but she still wanted to help out if he would let her.

Consider him lucky

"I'd like to come see it sometime... your new office, that is." David nods, genuinely interested. "I've heard bits and pieces about the Elite but I'd like to know more."

Smiling, he sits back as drinks are brought to the table. "Mmm... the California firm is doing alright. Busy, but in our line of work, busy is good. Got a new guy just out of law school helping me out on some smaller cases to lighten the load and... keeping several secretaries busy with paperwork."

He shrugs and twirls the glass in his hands. "It's good. A little lonely at times though." He cocks his head and looks at Angelica with a bit of nostalgia.

JT chuckles a little as he stares up at the ceiling. "Yeah, I do the same thing. Always plan to take time off, then I find some excuse to keep working. I don't know... I guess maybe work is my shelter from the world."

He smirks at himself. "Real mature... hiding way behind the doors of the hospital. You'd think I'd want to relax."

Sighing, he shrugs. "Anywhere? I don't know... somewhere quiet... like a private beach to watch the waves come in and just... be." He turns his head to see Amanda. "What about you?"

Axel grins and runs his hand through Jess' hair again. "I guess I'd be food and kiss deprived both. I don't know which would be worse."

He runs his thumb over her forehead. "Would it be silly to admit I'm scared of this thing? I mean... I don't have use of my hand now, so if the surgery fails, I've lost nothing... but I know we've only got once chance at this. One chance... and if it goes poorly, that's it. And how could I..."

He stops, looking down into Jess' eyes. "How could I take care of anybody like that?"

Sparky's eyes rest on the table as Annie and Wes both speak. His jaw muscles flex, his ears listening to all they had to say. A part of him understood. A part of him could see where they were coming from and knew that they really just cared. But a part of him was angry.

"You know what..." He looks around at Wes, Jim and Sparky. "I am... grateful for your family concern here." His face is still red from this whole discussion. "But honestly I don't see how this is anyone's business."

He didn't mean to be harsh, but he was a little upset. "Look, I know that... that I've had a few relationships in the past and... there are some that none of you even know about because you weren't around. But I've never felt sorry for myself, or even let it be known if I was hurt or not. Quite frankly, it was never really that bad, so I'd appreciate it if that assumption was dropped."

"Whoa, whoa." Jim holds up his hands. "We didn't want to argue... Wes is right, we just care, that's all. We're not trying to pry or tell you what to do."

"But you do have an opinion."

"Well yeah."

"And that opinion is that I should not be getting close to Faith."

"Well-"

"Thanks." Sparky eyes his siblings again. "Thanks for the concern y'all. But I think I'm grown up enough to make these choices on my own. If any of you think I haven't thought about getting hurt or weighing the consequences here then you're sorely mistaken. If I would have known I was behaving differently at all then I would have put a lid on it and quit being so happy."

Jim rolls his eyes. Maybe he'd been wrong about bringing this thing up. But it was too late to stop now. "Aw, quit it, Tyler."

Sparky's eyes snap to his brother with fire. "I don't think I'm the one with a problem here," he hisses.

Trent's nearby presence in the kitchen had gone unnoticed, but he had heard enough of the group's conversation to realize what was going on. Sparky and Faith had not escaped his eyes either. But instead of concern, he felt annoyance for the siblings' reaction.

Finishing his glass of milk, he wanders out and passes by the table.

"Well it's pretty obvious that-" Jim falls silent as Trent appears out of nowhere.

Everyone looks up at him, surprised at his presence. He approaches and leans down to rest his palms on the table, glancing at all the eyes. "I have a solution," he reveals dryly. "How about leaving this poor guy alone and letting him love someone? Is that so wrong? Consider him lucky to love at all - some people in this world never get that chance."

Shaking his head, he straightens and walks away, heading out the door.

Jim swallows hard and looks down, then to Annie and Wes. He still felt concern, but somehow this had gone too far maybe. He didn't know. He looks back to Sparky a little calmer. "Just be careful, Bro."

Sparky stands up, ready to leave, his eyes showing disappointment, but his tone is quieter. "I will." His eyes roam to Annie and Wes too. "Consider your warning or concern received. I'd appreciate it if I could go finish chores now."

Deprived

"Well technically we are doing kind of the same thing. Only we are not trying to beat our class mates, we are trying to keep an innocent woman and her boyfriend out of jail and safe."

Once Aerith had come and gone Angelica turned her attachen back to David with a wide smile as her eyes twinkled a in the dim light of the room. It really was good to see him again, and getting all the latest gossip from back and Cali would be nice to hear as well. I guess work could wait for a little while.

"Working for the Elite is great. There is always alot of work to do, and you know how I am. The more work the happier I am."

Taking a sip of her water before leabing back finally getting warm enough to take her jacket off. Placing it at her side Angelica leans on the table a little her arms crossed.

"The room is a little smaller than my office in Cali, but it works, and when I need more space I am able to use the filing cabinets down the hall a little ways that only I have a key to. And what about you? How is the old business doing? I have to admit I do miss it a little."

As JT takes her hand in his own and brings it to his lips she cant help the small chuckle that escaped her lips. A tiny bit of color coming to her cheeks. The kiss on her hand had been warm, and comforting and done in a friendly manor so why did it feel like her stomach was going to fly away.

Seeing him flop back though Amanda moves a little so she is sideways on the bed. Her one leg tucked under her, and the other hanging off the edge of the bed. Giving a more hearty laugh at his comment about a vacation she gives a nod.

"I have been saying that for the last three months. I just can't ever find the time. Maybe I should actually use the vacation time I have this year and try not to worry."

Letting out a sigh she new she had planned something last year but it ended up falling through by her own doing. She got to wrapped up with patients, and just hated to leave so she canceled. Maybe this year she wouldn't.

"So if you could go one place on vacation, where would you go?"

Feeling Axel's lips on her own Jess can feel the butterfly start to flutter in her stomach. Her own eyes easing closed just enjoying the moment letting both there emotions just flow freely. Tightening her arms around Axel's neck just a little Jess lets her fingers play with the soft curls as the nape of his neck where his hairline stopped.

They didn't kiss like this much, and Jess was fine with that because it made it seem even more special when they did. Finally pulling away Jess takes a deep breath of air not opening her eyes right away. A grin made its way to her face, and finally her eyes opened.

"You might starve if I wasn't here."

Jess gives a little laugh. After that kiss she wasn't sure what to say.

"and I might become kiss deprived."

Annie sits at the table across from Spakry, and just listens to Jim. She was quiet not wanting to interrupt but seeing he was having a problem trying to find the words she straightens just a little.

"I think what Jim is trying to say is we just care about you so much, that we wanted to make sure Faith's intentions, are pure and your not just clinging to the first person who comes along without seeing all the angles."

Annie looks across the table at Sparky and gives the best smile she can. They were worried, he had been so depressed latly, and seemed to be so lonely they didn't want him to be blindsided or taken advantage of.

" I have known Faith for a while now, and I don't think she would do that to you or anyone but people can always wair there masks. I just want to make sure my big brother is not going to end up hurt, or later down the road very unhappy."

Leaning against the counter Wes had remained quiet his head in his hand, his other arm wrapped around himself. He didn't know if his siblings were making it worse or not as they tryed to explain to Sparky what they though. But since there way a lull he felt he should speak up too.

"Sparky, I am absolutely happy that your happy. Its a breath of fresh air to me, to see you smile and joke. You have life again, and the old look is back in your eyes. If this woman is the one who is making this happen, and you both truly care for each other and not are just acting on a need to be with someone or to have someone take care of you than I am with you one than stay with her and continue your relationship. I'll stand with you on it. She seems nice enough, and very caring. I've also seen the look in her eye, and the twinkle when she talks to you. I personally just want to make sure, not make sure but ask you to ask yourself if this really is what you want with this woman. Because the last thing I want to see is you hurting again, or even to see her hurt as well."

Wes gives a nod to his brother in hopes he understood what he was saying. His own concern was different from his other siblings, but in a round about way it was the same. He didnt want to see anyone get hurt Sparky or Faith.

Moving away from the door to the dinning hall Faith finds a spot on the pouch to sit. She hadn't meant to over hear the conversation that had been going on, and now she wish she hadn't. She was only coming to see what else Sparky needed help with. Picking at the loose string in her old jeans her mind goes from one this to the next as it felt like a rain cloud had formed over her heart.

Sparky's family was worried about him, thinking she only wanted someone to take care of her till she was better? Had she given them the impression that she was helpless let alone that kind of person? She really did care about Sparky and could even imagine herself with him for the rest of her life very happy. Never had she felt like this with a guy before. All the emotions she had twords him were completely different, warm, comforting, and she loved them. But what did Sparky think? What would happen now that his family brought this concerns to his face? She new Sparky cared for her too, and that she shouldn't worry but she was anyways. She just couldn't help it.

Meeting

David chuckles softly and shakes his head. "Work is most important, I know. But it was worth a try. At least give me ten minutes of old time's sake."

Having Aerith come up to the table, he holds up his finger to have her wait a moment as he quickly scans the menu. "Uh... how about the chicken parmesan and... um, just water, thanks."

Once alone with Angelica once more, his smile returns. "Mm, remember those late nights pouring over books just so we could one up our fellow classmates the next day? For some reason I feel like that again."

His eyes had already wandered to her left hand once, noting that one specific finger was still quite bare. "So... ten minutes starts now. How is it, working for the Elite?"

"Yeah..." JT chuckles. "Friends is what's important."

Taking Amanda's hand, he lifts it to his lips, giving it a gentle kiss. "Well thank you anyway, even if you don't want to be repaid."

Taking a deep and weary breath, he lets himself flop backward, his feet still on the floor, but his upper body on the bed. "When this is all over.... I think I'll finally be ready for a vacation."

Axel smiles, unable to help but enjoy Jess' attention. "Take care of me, huh?"

Curling down so his face was right next to hers, he's still grinning. "I think I could handle that." Leaning in a little more, his lips brush hers lightly before he pulls back, looking into her eyes. "Before you, life seemed just a bit empty." His voice is so quiet. "What did I do without you, hmm?"

Smiling again, he returns his lips to hers, this time staying for a longer kiss.

"Alright..." Sparky sits in the back corner of the dining hall before supper, staring at his siblings with worry in his eyes. Something seemed really strange. Jim had pulled him away from chores, saying that he, Wes and Annie wanted to talk about something. Looking at all their eyes, Sparky could tell that he was the only one who didn't know what was going on. "So what's this all about, guys? I got chores waiting."

"Yeah... yeah, this shouldn't take long." Jim nods and clears his throat, folding his hands on the table. He'd started this thing, so he might as well be the one to spill it. "Well... we're just a little concerned about you... and we want to make sure you're okay."

Sparky's eyebrows rise. "I've... never felt better. I'm fine... great. Did I do something to offend y'all?"

"Oh, no, no," Jim assures. He gives Annie a sidelong glance. "We just... well, we've noticed you and Faith and... wanted to make sure nobody was gonna get hurt."

As Sparky realizes what this meeting had been called for, he leans back, controlling his irritation. "If by 'me and Faith' you mean more than friends, it's true. Not sure I understand about getting hurt though." He hadn't exactly planned on announcing a relationship like this, but it wasn't as secret. It had just happened fast, that was all.

Jim looks to Annie and Wes for help. "Well... she's young and-"

"So?"

"Your basically old enough to be her father! You know this, don't you?"

"Of course I do." Sparky grits his teeth as his face reddens. Having his personal life exposed like this was embarrassing, even if it was his family. "What's the point here, guys? Are you saying you don't approve?"

"No, not approve. Just... it's-"

"It's what?"

Jim looks helplessly to Annie. All he wanted to do was express they cared and make sure everything was okay and that no one was being foolish or rushing into things. But he didn't know how to say it without sounding judgmental.

Kiss

Continuing to keep her head in Axel's lap her eyes scan his never leaving his face as he listened to his voice mail. She studied his face trying to make out what the phone call was about. Often she liked to do that, just watch and observe rather than ask. Once he was off the phone again though and he had told her about the call a smile spreads across her face.

"Oh that's great new Axel. It is worth a shot, and if it works that means you can go back to the shop. Less time with me, but I know you love working there."

Reaching her arms up to wrap around his neck but not move her head Jess eyes showed her own excitment.

"I am so excited for you. But you know what this means while you heal right? I get to take care of you."

A smile spreads across Amada's face at JT's comment. Though she felt bad for him and Bree it felt nice to his comment about her. JT could never repay her for this, because she would never want him to. This was just something she had done for her friend out of kindness.

"Just continue to be yourself, and to be there for Bree. Thats all I need as payment. This had been quite an adventure that I am sure is hardly over."

Giving his hand a gentil pat Amanda's smile never fades. She wanted to be strong for JT, and be some some kind of strangth and hidding her own worry would do that, that she had no problem.

"Oh our own shyness kept us from saying hi. It happens, and we are friends now so that is important. Right?"

Getting David call and confirming his was on his way, Angelica gathers her own things together. Putting everything she would need in her briefcase before heading out.

She wasnted dressed to fancy so she was hopping David wouldnt be eather. Just a black valure shirt, and a pare of form fitting jeans alone with her black dress winter boots was her atire. And a gold chain hung around her neck with a locked at the end.

Getting the Mom and Pop's a while before David would be there, Angelica gives a nice little place to sit away from people so they wouldn't bother them, but a big enough table to spread everything out.

Hearing the bell on the door ring Angelica looks up. A smile spreads across her face as she sees David. He looked different from the last time she had seen him, more relaxed and comfortable than stiff. Angelica couldnt help but think he looked really good.

"David...its so good to see you."

Angelica leans across the table giving him a friendly hug and a quick kiss on the cheek, her own way of saying hello to a long time friend.

Just giving him a once over again a bigger smile spreads on her face. It really was good seeing her friend again. And catching up sounded good though she new it wouldnt take to long. She was a workaholic like always so there wasnt much to tell.

" Ok we can dig a little but not for two long we have much to do and not a lot of time. You do look like your doing very well for yourself."

Aerith walks over to the table a tired but plesent smile on her face. Seeing Angelica many times before she new who she was.

"Can I get you anything to drink Sir or drink? And Miss Lockheart anything else for you?"

Aerith didn't need a pad of paper she had a good memorie when it came to this kind of stuff.

Giving a smile to Areith Angelica gives a small nod to her.

"A cup of coffee black would be good, and I think i am going to go with the grilled chicken salad Aerith. Thank you."
